For the same reason many servers now have a ridiculous starting loadout, hundreds of vehicles and choppers, 24/7 daylight, or even a modified map with barracks and such near the coast. The first time I played on a sever like that, going from Kamenka to Balota I managed to find more stuff than I could possibly carry. I don't like side chat. I'm yet to be saved from hackers thanks to it and yet I've been accused of hacking for simply killing someone. Go figure. -
We already searched for everything again... I've now heard that i may could some time after a reset/new installment of the server till vehicles spawn. We're gonna wait now some time/restarts :D may sometime hopefully spawns something, otherwise we'll ask our server provider again. Already searched with google for answers, nothing helpful found.. :(

Hello everyone, Since now a few days, there are no more vehicle spawning on our server, the server ist hosted by gamed!de. Our server is connected to the german "My"-Network. The server was running fine, without any problems or errors, but after a daily restart all vehicles/tents are gone. After that we have loaded a backup on our server, vehicles are still gone, the backup was from a day, where everything was just fine. We've asked our provider, he said that our server configuration was a bit buggy, as it seems, they've reinstalled the whole server. But now, a few hours later, there are still no vehicles spawning, no push bikes, nothing :( My question is now, where can we take a look at the server files, to find out if one is faulty or the vehicles just got ported to a bad place from a script kiddie. I've heard that there is somewhere a Mysql Database, where Vehicles are marked as "working" or "crashed/broken" and that there is sometimes a bug, where the server marks everything as working and don't spawn new ones after a Restart / after a time. Current vehicle spawn limit is 55 ( we've pushed it up a bit, after a few "non-spawning" restarts. just to find out if there is something spawning ) we have walked now on almost every vehicle/bike/heli spawns (we have split them up and everyone was searching a direction North, South, West and East ). There has to be something working wrong. I don't know if this is the right section of the Forum for such questions, pretty new to it. If someone need's more information, you can ask me and i'm gonna send it via PM to you. Thank's for help. Would be really nice if someone knows the answer. :)

Any whitelisted servers looking for a small group?

Well, since US1024 didn't work out for our group (http://dayzmod.com/forum/index.php?/topic/108564-corrupt-admins-on-us-1024-private-hive-whitelisted-ufp-dayz-unofficial-fan-page-server/) we have a group currently looking for a scripter free home. We'll have as many as 6 on during the weekend, and normally 1-3 on during the week. We're open to different maps, maybe prefer Chernarus as long as vehicles aren't super rare. No more then two choppers at once. Most of all, we're looking for a server with admins that play by the rules. -

The endgame will be customisable vehicles and instanced underground bases. But it will be added later on, as it requires to write a fair amount of code from scratch. Crafting has not been really talked about yet but I think we'll see something because it's like one of the feature people most want. I would also like to see some kind of fortification system, but given the sandbox nature of the game it's gonna be tricky to implement : too many objects might cause horrible server lag. Maybe allowing to barricade doors and windows would be a good beginning, as there is a finite number of doors and windows ingame? EDIT : just thought about it, make the planks and other fortification items take a lot of inventory space and weight, and a lot of work to actually get the items (having to cut wood with hatchet, then use the saw on the wood to get the planks, then a hammer and nails and some time to actually barricade your house). All of that might reduce the amount of griefers. -
You should fix some vehicles up plenty of air vehicles going around these days... ufo's the works.

The entire point of DayZ is to scavenge for loot and survive. If you have everything in excess, what fun is that? The fun part of DayZ is just making it by surviving be it by yourself or with others. When I first got into DayZ I use to play alone or with one other friend (I started when it first came about). After a month our "pair" grew to four, five, six and up to something around twenty at its peak. It was allot of fun having groups of 10 survivors doing tactical maneuvers around towns to get loot or hunt a player. We had stockpiled more than one of every weapon in the game (with ammo), eight vehicles, tents, meat, clothing...everything. We were all so pleased when we reached this point and we took many screenshots. Eventually we realized that we had achieved "survival" and infact were thriving. Zombies no longer became a threat, other players were but a fart in the wind, food and medical supplies were abundant, map was explored and vehicles had been drivin by all. It no longer became DayZ but rather a game of hunt the guy in balota every single day. The group now consists of about 4 people, and I am liking it allot. Long story short, DayZ is fun with big groups but the survival element goes away rather quickly with a massive group of players all hunting for loots. Its best played either by yourself or with a small group of 1-4 people. (also allot more gratifying when you take out a group of 10 unorganized bandits with only yourself or you and a friend or two) -
I would say I have to agree for the most part with these guys. I don't like joining a server where you're hand is held. The real problem you face, is that people are split and you will never please everyone. Some people will never want to play a game like Dayz because in vanilla, its hard. For some its impossible for them to grasp why anyone would want to be challenged. Too many people want their hand held. I wish someone would make their server even harder. No flying vehicles, no thermals, no sniper rifles, no nvg and zombies that don't give a crap that you're hiding in a bush/tree. That would be my ideal place to play. Listening to me though, will instantly turn off 95% of the players of this game but that's my point altogether.

I've played with up to eight people, all using voice coms, it gets confusing in panic situations. I much prefer playing with two or three. Three team mates is a good idea, you can organise fixing up vehicles and travell across country in relative security. Yes 3 is good, it's official. -

I personally hate servers with more than 100. I'm playing on one right now that about 100 or just over, and it still feels too much. I killed some near NEAF, found a heli and flew around to a crashsite or 2, came back to NEAF and he was there with a black SUV. I've found a few servers in the past that make fun of the servers with 300+ vehicles though, with names like "14000000 vehicles". It's a common thing done by servers in order to raise the money to keep hosting. On one hand it's good to see they are atleast giving people back something for donating, but on the other, it's a disadvantage to everyone that doesn't buy it, which ruins the game. Not to mention starting with gear would make the game extremely boring, wouldn't it? I love gearing up 10x more than actually having gear already. -
Hello fellow Dayz players and/or mods, Ive been playing dayz now for 2 months but i got some strange bugs in my game. When i die or go unconsious i do not get a countdown timer i just lay there on the ground and after 5 minutes i either stand up or die. I cant pickup weapons or industrial loot while i got enough room in my inventory. it just shows pickup windshield and i click on it but it doesnt do anything. 5 a 10 minutes later im doing the pickup animation randomly and its trying to pick up the parts. Also sometimes i just cant pickup anything. it doesnt show gear im the mini menu or pickup item. i tried relogging but nothing happens. I tried reinstalling arma and dayz i tried reinstalling the mods but nothing works. also when my character breaks a leg i cant use morphine and when i got a toolbox i cant repair vehicles or heli's Can someone please help me its destroying my play on dayz. Focus: -Surviving is way too easy -Dayz is turning into Resident Evil Operation Raccon City, a deathmatch 3rd person shooter with zombies. -Basic survival tools are way too common and easy to find. -Banditing is a part of game nevertheless. Current Changelog (WIP): * [NEW] Beans, sardines and pasta cans spawn chance decreased * [NEW] Soda cans spawn chance decreased. * [NEW] Bloodbags spawn chance decreased. * [NEW] Millitary grade sniper rifles except SVD spawn chance slightly decreased, includes M107, AS50, DMR and M24 * [NEW[ Military weapons such as M4 and FN FAL spawn chance decreased. * [NEW] Players spawn with a random bloodtype * [NEW] A syringe equipment now spawns in Hospitals, it allows the transfusion of blood from yourself to other players or the opposite. You can not transfuse blood to yourself off a dead body. * [NEW] You can kill other players by draining their blood and stealing it for yourself. * [NEW] De-coloristation only happens if you're below 5000 blood now. * [NEW] Alice pack back spawn chance decreased. * [NEW] Players now spawn with a Czech vest pouch * [NEW] Coyote Patrol Packs now spawn and could be found as a loot. The action automatically boils all the water in your canteen and re-fill them making them good for drinking again. * [NEW] Enfield spawn chance slightly decreased. * [NEW] Animals spawn chance decreased * [NEW] Cooked meat refils 400 blood only instead of 800. Canned food refils 100 blood isntead of 200. * [NEW] Vehicles and bicycles are now generally more common. (More spawn locations for them. Would be needed since ACE mod removes the unlimited stamina bullshit. No more olympics marathon running, find a vehicle) * [NEW] A huge variety of civilian skins now spawn and have a high spawn chance. Allows easier recognition of friendlies and diversity in player looks.

Side chat ruins the immersion, and DayZ is designed to be immersive. I hate it for the same reason I hate "1,000,000,000+ vehicles!!!!! More heli crashes!!!! 24/7 daylight!!!" I've found it extremely difficult to find any private hives that stick to original DayZ settings. The private hives are all becoming care bear servers and it's attracting all the rug rats that make CoD so terrible to play. All the vehicles, daylight, and the enabling of side chat take away the intensity of the game. I want my DayZ back. I tried going back to public but I literally get hacked within 10 minutes of joining every time. Looks as though the only option is to wait for SA. -

Eh, it's just another server run by corrupt admins who enforce nonsensical "rules", except this time it has a money making scheme slapped on it. Good thing I avoid these types of servers (usually I can spot them by the "900+ VEHICLES¦CUSTOM LOADOUT" names). -

Nah, they made it to where public servers can have side chat again... As for people making threads in regards to any type of suspected abuse, go look into the official location for these threads, where you will find hundreds of complaints just like yours. The Mod is in its final stages, NONE of the complaints you have will be addresses no matter how well they are formatted. Honesty, tough shit, I find cars and vehicles every night, as I fly around hunting tents/Vehicles. Don't get attached to anything you have.... Damn why am I even typing this shit -
Not entirely true. I have managed to add an Apache to my private hive server and other players can see it. (NO RMOD) However I tried to add a Chinook and an MV22 and although I could see them, no other players could not. Here's what I did: 1. Open your Serversettings.cfg and set "verifySignatures" to 0. 2. Download PBO View: http://www.armaholic...age.php?id=1434 3. Run PBO View. Hit CTRL + O or click Open and navigate to your ArmA2OA directory. Open the folder correlating to your current DayZ map (eg @dayz for Chernarus, @DayZLingor etc). Select "dayz_anim.pbo". 4. You should now see dog (folder), zmb (folder), config.cpp and speeds.txt. 5. Press CTRL + A or click Extract all and create a temporary folder anywhere (eg desktop). 6. Navigate to your temporary folder and edit "config.cpp" with your favourite text editing program (Notepad++ works great). 7. Press CTRL + F and search for the CLASS NAME of your desired vehicle. Classnames can be found here: http://www.armatechs...5165f/index.php 8. Your desired vehicle should be in a line such as this: "class Mi17_CDF: Banned {};". 9. Comment the line by typing // before the line, eg "//class Mi17_CDF: Banned {};". It is recommended you don't delete the line in case you want to revert it later. 10. Now close config.cpp and in PBO View click pack and navigate to your temporary folder. Select this folder to pack and a new "pbo" file will be created in the same location as your temporary folder. 11. Rename your old "dayz_anim.pbo" file to "dayz_anim_old.pbo" or something similar before copying your new .pbo into the @whatever folder. 12. Now that you have unbanned your vehicle you now have to add it to the database. For this you will need a tool such as MySQL Workbench or Navicat. 13. Connect to your database via your preferred tool. 14. Edit the "object_data" table. 15. Scroll to the bottom and create a new row. 16. In the first field (object ID) type the next number in the list (eg if the previous was 15, type 16). 17. In object UID type any random sequence of numbers. 18. Under "instance" put the same instance value as the other objects. 19. For classname copy in the "codename" you found before, eg "Mi17_CDF". 20. Under damage, input how much damage you would like the vehicle to have sustained (0 = no damage, 1 = destroyed) 21. Enter "0" for character ID. 22. Worldspace is the coordinates you want your vehicle to be created at. There are multiple ways to do this. You can either move your character to the location and find his Worldspace coordinates in the character_data table, or you can create a tent at the location and find its Worldspace in object_data. Then simply copy this Worldspace into your new vehicle object. 23. For inventory type [] to indicate the vehicle is empty. 24. For hitpoints enter []. 25. Enter a value for fuel (0 = empty, 1 = fuel) 26. Under datestamp just enter the date and time (closest you can get) to now. Follow the structure of the dates above in object_data. 27. Restart your server and your vehicle should be at the desired location! *Note to repair your vehicle you may have to re-edit the database as it can't be repaired like normal vehicles. Hope it works for you, let me know if you need any help.

Getting the stupid circle-jerk over beans out of the way, loads of people, myself included do not like servers likes this. Servers that: A) Have too many vehicles B) Have end-game loot at the start C) Have guns at the start Are all retarded. It defeats the purpose of DayZ when you get everything handed to you from the start, there is literally no point in the game if you already start with weapons and there are so many vehicles, there is no end-game or anything to aspire to whatsoever.
