Looking for a clan to join on dayZ

Hi, you are welcome to check us out at The BSB Network. We have around 1700 registered gamers, 400+ of which are Day Z gamers. The community is mostly adult gamers over the age of 20 (well over in most cases!) but there are no age, time or skill requirements - all we ask is you play fair and have a bit of common sense about you! Our members are based all over the world and are on at all times of the day and night, but all speak English and most are based in the UK and Mainland Europe with some in the US too. We aim to accommodate gamers of all levels; from those who just wish for the occasional hook up with trustworthy decent people, to gamers looking for dedicated groups or clan gaming with regular and organised tactics. We host various ad-hoc groups teams and clans as well as our own internal clan that has it’s members organised into two opposing Factions (BSB Scorpions & BSB Ravens). We run our own Taviana server (with many admins, loads of vehicles etc) also have our own free public Teamspeak 3 Server so our community can communicate and coordinate their scavenges and raids. We've been gaming as a community since 2002, so we're not some ad-hoc fly by night clan that's been quickly set up and will be gone in the blink of an eye! There is no obligation to join our clan or any of our affiliated clans/groups to take part in our sessions though, everyone is free to just turn up and get involved with some games. [Idea] Trains bring them back into gaming!

Is there currently an addon for ArmA2, in the ways of trains? I'm just trying to think of the issue where all the vehicles can move in any directions... trains obviously only go where the tracks take them; and I'm not sure how easy it would be to make a vehicle that can only travel forward and backwards on a pre-designated route.. It would be cool though. Give those fresh-spawns some new opportunities - steaming it down the south coast of Chernarus, with a middle finger to bandit snipers from the window. -

Poll: Do you think, ones the SA is out, there will be and pros for playing A2 DayZ?

When the SA comes out there will be a lot of reasons to continue to play DayZ mod. Look at the variety of game play you can have with the mod as it is, the SA will be limited to map and content upon release. With a whole range of maps available for the mod there will be lots to look forward to. I find having servers with 50+ vehicles a great way to play as it offers less competition for vehicles in the SA. SA devs stated vehicles will be phase 2 of development for the SA, Although vehicles will end up being better (Mad Max style?!) we can still enjoy the mod for availabiliy. As most people will play Chernarus + in the SA, some players like the variety of maps available, take Lingor, and taviana, they are great maps and offer different ways of playing. Only having one map is limiting and as it is practically the same but with more enterable buildings and a few new places, bordom may set in. on the plus side there will be more maps for the SA and they will be officially released maps so less likely to be buggy and unplayable (I hope) If it wasn't for the Hacking and the engine limitations in the Mod, there would be no need for the SA IMO. It is being supported by the community also which means more mix and matching for more variety of play. Look at servers available, there are lots of different ones for different types of players, which is good. I think the Mod will have lots more to offer after SA release, and hopefully some details will cross over to the SA, particularly details that work and have player acceptance. I hope ideas can be bounced off each one to give us the players more choice. I often wonder about the poor souls who only own the SA, they will be missing out on a rich history and some great maps (Until new maps are introduced into the SA) It would be a shame to let it go to waste. With primary attention on the SA the mod may go in directions players feel the SA lacks and be more experimental. Either way it is early days yet, we will have to wait and see. -
Server always start at 12:30pm and tents are gone

i think not all got deleted. installed from a fresh server and all working fine now except vehicles and tents are all gone. probably vehicles and tents are saved in a different location. probably profile in user arma2 folder. i'll keep digging. -

HI Abstract, I think we are off to a good start. Have you come up with a permanent name for our group? I think we need to start looking into making 2 or 3 camps so we won't loose everything on 1 raid. Don't know if you know, but we currently have 1 helicopter and 5 other vehicles. The first camp has been moved cause it got raided. Told the last person on game to move a couple of vehicles from camp, just in case we get raided again. Looks like everyone is enjoying the group. hey guys everytime i try play day z i am able to get into a game, but once in the game there are no weapons or vehicles anywhere. i believe it may have to do with the fact that everytime i get on a server it comes up error weapons./blah blah. i have no idea what to do and i have tried several times to find weapons and stuff but i could not please help

AKA safezone. AKA shop. It's going to make it too easy for players by offering them a place to be safe. A primary point of the game is to survive and find loot, not to give the player the luxury. As mentioned there are some freeside traders and I myself have traded in game a lot of times in a safe manner simply by asking in side chat. Currency in this situatin would be foolish, what use is money / currency if everyone has the same chance of obtaining it? Raids are carried out already for less, players are gunned down in vehicles with limited loot, even Bambi's are taken out for bandages which are easy to obtain so there is no need for convoy raids (have you seen the swathes of dead players around chopper crash sites?) Now It seems to me to be a suggestion from a Warzzzz player, but remember the differences in the games are whav makes the games unique. No cross over elements are needed, certainly not Warzzz ones which have been proven to be bypassed and abused.

Can't argue there, an Mi-17 would be more logical. I personally like the UH-1 more, it's easier to fly, it's more maneuverable and it looks prettier. Completely agree, maybe the Helicopter could already have those guns on it and they could be detachable and vice versa or it might spawn without guns, randomness. The minigun idea I fringe on, just based on the bullet consumption and the cartridge used, only the FN FAL uses the 7.62 nato round. There should be no abundance of that round in the current dayz setting. Not to mention the power of that gun existing in dayz is questionable for balance reasons. Agreed, this makes me laugh also in the sense that you can't shoot out of a car. And now rocket is planning to allow zombies to hit players inside the car. The unfairness of the situation is quite evident, not really sure what the ultimate purpose of this is. Maybe the way you're suggesting will be implemented eventually in the standalone. There are plans to allow players to modify and build on vehicles for more protection from zombies and other players. Internal bleeding is a serious thing. Fixing wounds is an intricate part of a survival game, not sure how internal bleeding would be done tastefully to balance realistic simulation with gameplay. A realistic approach would be that if you get internal bleeding, you die. A gameplay approach would probably revolve around having a different "bandage" for internal bleeding, which just doesn't make any sense and contributes nothing to the game. Thanks for the suggestions Freakydeakydutch, I like some of them.

Hello we are partnered with the GMA Guild of Mute Assassins are run two Chernarus servers. Special Operations Capable, we run a limited PVP Cherno server allowing PVP only at Bolta, Cherno and the NWAF. We offer bounties for players killing outside the PVP zones with rewards and fun events, free gunshow gives aways, various missions and we run support for the hive. We welcome new palyers and will run a taxi service via are and medivacs at times to help wounded players. We created this server to offer a unique enviroment where the beach wooke/bambi does not have to be worried about being killed by skill players unless they enter a PVP zone, those wishing to PVP may do so if they enter the PVP zones. Clan play is already vastly overpowered, because you're connected on teamspeak, skype, ventrilo or mumble. You can easily pick each other up in vehicles, transport new guys to your camp, where DMRs, ghillie suits and NVGs await him. You'll win lots of fire fights, if someone dies, you can pick up their best gear or camp the corpses, until he returns. I can't imagine a group respawn and name tags is simply a question of difficulty. It's pretty easy to ID people, if your teammates are competent communicators and always are on an external voice coms. Our team of three people, meet another group of five, dressed as randomly as us. One were dressed as hero with an Enfield like me, but because I broadcasted my exact location, it only took a seconds hesitation, before my team member dropped him. -
You've basically described an aspect of Wasteland, another survival mod for ArmA2. It's quite fun, pick up a few friends of yours and have a run around. It's less survival, more guns and more vehicles. In my opinion anything like this is wholly in opposition to the spirit of DayZ.

I fully disagree with this idea. It serves no purpose in regard to gameplay. The way cars spawn does not support such a mechanic. Just the fact that finding a car almost always requires a toolbox for repairs, it's feasible to assume that all running cars are hot wired to begin with. But building on the idea I would like to see a function in the game for disabling vehicles. For example; disable vehicle would give an item to your inventory and you would need that item or to find a similar item to re-enable the vehicle. It would serve gameplay by providing a means to "save" your vehicles while logged out. The vehicle would not disappear, but while you are logged out, it would require effort to fix it for anyone finding it, rather than just driving off with it.

You wake up on the beach with no memory of your past. Surprisingly, you have a backpack on. Upon searching it you only find a bottle of painkillers, a flashlight, and a bandadge. Somehow though, you feel completely full and hydrated. You lift your warm body off the soaking sand and drag yourself away from the beachead. After a few minutes of walking you spot a roadway winding along the coastal range. As you wander down the empty highway, you find dozens of broken-down vehicles in various states of disrepair. 'What could have done this?' you wonder to yourself. As you travel farther along the road, you have no recollection of your surroundings. Finally, while approaching a town, you see a road-sign. Maybe this can give you clues about where you are and what your past is! Strangely, the sign is in a dialect that you can't understand. Nothing in this place seems to make sense at all. As you get closer to the town, people materialize out of thin air. 'Am I hallucinating?' you ask yourself. You are overcome with joy though to find human contact in this otherwise desolate world. As you run closer to them, something seems wrong. It doesn't seem right for people to howl and stagger around. You decide to continue running towards them. The sound of running footsteps and screams sends a chill running down your spine. These people aren't friendly at all. The vacant look in their eyes assures that they aren't running to greet you in celebration, they are greeting you with death. You continue running full speed through the town, dodging around buildings and through alleyways until you have finally lost the hoard. As you slow down, you catch your breath and decide pound the bottle of painkillers. 'This has to be a dream. These drugs will help to keep my shakiness down,' you tell yourself. As you continue your way through the buildings, the sound of flies catches your attention. You are curious and decide to follow it. As you near the sound, you see a body lieing on the ground. You cautiously approach it by crawling through the short grass. As you near the body, you see that the person had a bullet hole right through their chest. 'Who could have done this and how did it happen?' you wonder. As you slowly open up their backpa-*CRACK* You wake up on the beach with no memory of your past. Surprisingly, you have a backpack on. Quick tut on mission editing. **ALWAYS save a copy of the origanal PBO from your server when editing** _____________________________________________________________________________________ Step 1. Open Arma2OA Press Alt + E to open map editor Select the Map you want eg. Chernarus On the right side, press "Center" double click on the map and set this to "Civilian" Now do the same for "Group" it will already have the right settings. Now click "Unit" then double click the map and beside "type" select any human model. In that same window you will see "Player" and "Playable" set the drop down menu to "Player" default is "AI" and "Playable" Default is "Non-Playable" Now you can add custom buildings to your map. All available objects are in the "Vehicle" Selection, even buildings. (DO NOT TRY TO ADD REAL VEHICLES (Cars/trucks/helis.ect). This must be done in your database.) Now that you have added the custom buildings you want, Save the file to any name you want. ______________________________________________________________________________________________ Go to your Servers main directory and look for the MPmissions file and download the PBO file in that folder. Some say dayz1_chernarus some have other names. You will now need a PBO Packer/Unpacker. PBOManager v1.4 is a good choice for Windows 7 and Windows 8. You will also need the Arma2 - 3D map to 2D map converter _______________________________________________________________________________________________ Step 2. Now that you have downloaded everything. Open the Arma2 3d map to 2d map converter, click "Open 3D Map" and select the "mission.sqf" file you edited and saved. This is in MyDocuments\Arma 2 other profiles\yourname\missions\yourmissionname It will then make another folder inside your Missions folder called yourmissionname_2d.chernarus Copy and paste this new folder and all its content to your Mydocuments\Arma 2 other profiles\yourname\MPmission folder. ________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Step 3. Merging your missions Now open your PBO unpacker/packer and import your Servers DayZ MPmission PBO (mission.sqm) extract the mission.sqm file to your MyDocuments\ArmA2 Other profiles\yourname\MPmissions Now run Arma2OA. Select "Multiplayer" Select "New" Press "OK" Then select your difficulty mine is allways "regular" Your map eg: Chernarus and select "<<New - Editor>>" then press "Play" Now on the right side of the screen press the "Load" button and select your DayZ server mission file. Now press "Merge" and Select the mission you edited 2D Now Save the mission and name it anything you want. ______________________________________________________________________________________________________ Step 4. Back to the PBO Packer/Unpacker Delete the "mission.sqm" file that is inside your servers mpmission PBO (eg: dayz1_chernarus.pbo - delete mission.sqm file) Copy and Paste the newly saved merged one from your Arma2 other profiles\your name\MPmissions\NameOfTheMissionYouJustSaved Now you can re pack the PBO (PBOmanager v1.4 does it automaticly) Now Upload the new PBO to your servers MPmission folder. Your done!!! Please note, this method of mission editing does NOT require rMod and can be done on pretty much any private server.

Max is capped at 160 per HFB, the number seems low but it is easy to find vehicles. Atv's seem to pop up everywhere and there almost always more then one heli and a bunch of cars at the NW airfield.

I am trying to start a group on DayZ with people age 13 - 17, If this group does well I will try to turn it into a powerful clan. So far its just me so I am posting these right now to help me find people to join the group. This group will be playing on Chernarus and ((MAYBE)) Taviana, on Chernarus we will all start on the coast, try to gear up and head up north together. Classes/Jobs Cook: Cooks food for the group, carry's lots of food, gets food for the group. Healer: Carry's lots of medical supplies for the group and heals people. Negotiator: Goes out and talks to survivors for the group.(TENDS TO DIE A LOT) Mechanic: Carry's vehicle parts and fixes vehicles for the group.( DOESN'T ME HE DRIVES ALL OF THEM) Driver: Drives group from place to place. Sniper: Stays out of towns and covers group from afar.(Pretty boring if you ask me...) Planner: You help plan missions and other things for the group.( You will not become this as soon as u join) Application Age: Skype: Country: How long of you been playing?: What 2 Classes/Jobs would you want to be?: How good do you think you are on a scale of 1-5:

Could you imagine finding a set of car keys on a zombie and then having to go find the car? The way we enter and drive vehicles at the moment implies that the keys are already in the ignition or we have hotwired the car.

Ticket ID 857984 Appreciate it Kiotie. I have sort of managed to get the restart sceduler to work. But I am NOT getting BEC messages coming up, including general messages and restart warnings :( I have sorted out some other things I wanted to do, just trying to locate a map that can connect to my database so I can see where vehicles have spawned or where I can place vehicles, does that exist?
