    Looking for a good server.

Check out AZSF on the Dayz Commander Filter also! We have several servers all having 400+Vehicles!

    Looking for a good server.

Check us out; Taviana (awesome map!) 450+ vehicles, including at least 10 choppers, 8 planes, tones of cars bikes, buses, Urals, SUVs, whitelisted so it's 100% hack free. Daily restarts, lots of active admins, several different clans and groups, loads of lone wolves, weekly events (capture, assault, clan v clan etc). http://dayzmod.com/f...bandits-wanted/ More details and get whitelisted @ our website too; http://www.bsbnetwork.com
  3. You could try DaiZy. It's a single player mod of dayz. I've started playing it since hackers have become so rampant. You can play with or without ai survivors and bandits. There is also a base building system implemented where you can use wood, wires, sandbags, etc to build buildings for bases. I also like being able to save my game and not worry about losing my camp or vehicles due to glitchy server restarts.
  4. KCCO!| Private HIve 45 Slot| Active admins| Gotcha Anti-Hack 24/7 Day Auto Restarts Every 6 hours(warns) Max Vehicles - Custom spawn points, 50+ </p> Mode* Veteran Side Chat ON 3rd Person ON Way-points ON Arma OA Beta version* 100296 DayZ Mod* 1.7.4.4 Please come and join us and stay! 192.198.81.6:4302 we eventually want to move to white listing.

What is the problem of Dayz?

I can handle the bandits, snipers, KOS douches and assorted other jerks. Seriously...have you even WATCHED a post-apocalypse film or The Walking Dead? The buginess of the zombie AI is tolerable. It is a alpha version of a mod after all. I don't have a problem with the custom private hives. Sometimes I want to practice my PvP self defense so I'll go on one where you spawn fully armed. And while some people want to play DayZ as Dr Robert Neville, the last man on Earth, I prefer to play as Mad Max. That's why I like servers with about 300 vehicles. Common enough to turn the coastal road into a white line nightmare without being over the top. The single biggest problem is HACKERS. Not just the jerks who nuke the server or instakill people for no reason. But the ones who you don't see who give themselves all the gear and ruin the balance of the game. Dead body with ALICE pack, GPS, NVG, range finder, silenced weapons with 10 STANAG clips, and ALL the gear? That guy either hacked it in or took it from a tent or another dead body of someone else who hacked it in. Some of that stuff is so rare I've maybe encountered at a natural loot spawn ONCE in months of actual play. IMHO, even if you have been playing for weeks, you should have to ration your food and count your shells to the shotgun you were lucky to find. Within 20 minutes, everyone is geared up like they are playing the Recon or Assault class from Battlefield 3.

What is the problem of Dayz?

Sorry, I think I wasn't very clear with my post. :) The fact that there are private hives and servers is a good thing (at least for now with the scripting and all) and diversity is of course also a good thing. It's just that right now it's a mess. If there were like... I don't know... a few different base settings that would be fine. I don't really mind plenty of vehicles, or anything like that. I do however mind starting with gear or servers focusing on death matching when Arma 2 is there to settle those needs! EDIT: And I did bloody say people would not agree with me right ;)

What is the problem of Dayz?

Excellent post, sir. I never get why people say vehicles should be rare? It's a zombie apocalypse so they all disappear. The parts and fuel etc should be harder to acquire than the vehicle itself. Yes there unusable vehicles on the map, but less vehicles for me causes a lot more pvp, a public server if I happen to stumble upon a guy or squad driving myself or me and my squad are taking the shot. Bit of a pain in the arse running about for the majority of the time. Now for the private hives, people have seeker refuge in the private hive from the hackers playground in the public servers. Some of the hives are ridiculous however I seen one where you started with an FN FAL and it claimed to be a survival hive.

What is the problem of Dayz?

Private hives give people choice. You dont have to play on any server that has rules and settings you dont like. So yeah.. >.> I dont think side chat, debug, waypoints, crosshairs really work in dayz cept to give more of an easy mode. However I would expect the country to be littered with vehicles that are able to be used in a real life zombie apocalypse. Guns and ammunition are the things that I would consider rare. Hell in my country (England) we would have to raid police armories and military bases to get any form of weaponry that wasnt up close and personal. Im asuming you are seen 28 days later. Yeah.. that kinda deal. Notice the abundance of vehicles. I also would expect to have certain equipment on me depending on how I survived up to that point. The whole dayz thing is being washed ashore or something, so I can understand having some equipment with me when I land on the beach. (some). Go where you like playing dude. Its not ruining the game to have diversity. It just allows an even greater demographic to have fun playing the game the way they wish to play it while you can do the same. Sure it detracts from the initial idea of what Dayz was about - but that doesnt really matter when you can play according to those ideas and others can play by their own ideas. It really comes down to what people consider fun. You prefer realism. Others a bit of easy mode. Both are valid. I understand what you are saying however. I personally feel the problem with dayz is the AMOUNT of private hives servers and the number of people who play. Lots of empty servers is pretty lame.

What is the problem of Dayz?

People are probably not going to agree with this but the most annoying problem right now is all the private hives. Frankly, it's a mess. I can't really understand why I would want to join a server with side chat, debug monitor, one million vehicles, waypoints, crosshairs, starting gear, custom loot and so on when the whole point of the game is survival. Sadly, what saved the mod is now destroying it.

    Looking for a clan.

Hi, my name is Jake. Im looking for a DayZ clan. I want to join a mature clan, but have trouble finding one because most have an age limit. (Im only 15). I am just looking for a mature clan that is organized and skilled. Below I will list things/skills I have for a clan im joining. I have my own Taviana server. I have a mumble server. Im mature. I am a good sniper. ( Except for DMR, not good with it. ) I am a good pilot of air vehicles. (helis and planes.) I speak English. ( Yes, this is necessary as some don't. ) I have a mic. I have teamspeak and Skype. I play and work well with others in-game. I am patient. Iv'e been playing DayZ for awhile so I know everything about it. I can guesstimate range very well. Now sadly I have to list my weaknesses so potential recruiters know what they're getting themselves into. I am not good with close range combat. (But im not bad either,) I can only get on weekends and weeknights. (Late on weeknights I only have experience with Taviana, Chernarus,Utes, and Namalsk Some more random things about me. Not weaknesses or strengths. I am CST. I live in Chicago, Illinois. I am 15.
  11. i dont know since when you play dayz, but i play it since april.back then "friendly" actually had a meaning, and most of the guys that tried to kos were noobs that are too scared to talk.and since it was something new,me and my clan were trying not to aggro every zombie in the map.surviving on chernarus is not hard if you know what you're doing.plus,as i mentioned earlier,me and one clanmate cleared the nwaf from 8 guys, they all ran in the control tower, making it easier for us to attack.we rushed openingn fire,2 m4's shooting while they were busy disconnecting,it looked like they were server hopping to snipe players in the af.we killed 5 of them and then the remaining 3 as they were running down to our floor.these guys had EVERYTHING.so the rest of my clan came with the car and we loaded everything in,we were all fully geared.so we were sorted.we didnt need to loot anymore,we were just playing for 2-3 hours everyday, gathering zombie kills and looking for vehicles,we always had bloodbags epipens and morphine on us so we made sure noone dies.

    Help with Namalask please!

You can pretty much spawn anywhere along the coast. There's a few hotspots but I've spawned all over the place. Warm Clothing can be found in any of the snow bound barracks and bunker at A2. Never set one up on Namalsk, but tbh you don't need one. There is plenty of forested area's for you to place hidden tents. That will depend on how your server is setup. Namalsk is the hardest DayZ map by far, food, drink are rare. There is only two supermarkets on Namalsk one on the West Larger Island and one on the small eastern island. Animals are rare too but there's enough. Again will depend on your server setup. I've added different types of vehicles to our server. Get stuck in there and don't worry about all this shite
  13. How on earth did you get those vehicles to spawn withour rmod? I've been trying all sorts to get certain vehicles to spawn on my servers and they never spawn as theyre banned vehicles, even though i removed their entries in the config.cpp of the dayz_anim.pbo please advise... :D
  14. Hi, TIC here and I want to present some ideas.. Here's what I want to suggest since animations will be improved for the Standalone, why not have new movements? Benefits; *With new movements, it'd improve combat, maneuvering, stealth and perhaps some others that we could think of; adding to 'expansion'. *Gestures could expand socialization; especially players without a microphone or do not speak the same language as you; hand gestures is an international method to communicate, who doesn't know what flipping someone off means? ;P Current animations as of 1.7.5.1; Front Dive, Vaulting, Salute, Leaning. (This topic will be editted for further ideas, errors and to avoid TL;DR Format + 'Ease on Eyes' Reading for simplicity) __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Holding onto ledges*applies to buildings, cliffs, etc. Could greatly help when there are no ladders around on rooftops or trying to hide from a player that's around your area.Zombies/players could see you easier. Zombies could surround you from the bottom, waiting for you to drop for your demise.Players are able to step on fingers, loosening their grip.Assist Barrier climbing;*applies to walls, fences, small barriers. Have you ever come upon a wall that's beyond your height? How about having a buddy giving you a lift up the wall(or fence) and help your partner carry him/herself over it! All Fours(Cat Walk) Are you under heavy fire or trying to sneak around zombies? Well, this is for you! Makes you a wider target.Could make a louder noise depending on the flooring and environment.Makes you stay in cover, faster to move instead of proning; I'm not saying to replace it, just add it!Depending on footwear, you could be more stable on the ground without having an error.Advanced 'Carry Body' Mechanic I know this is currently in ArMA 2 but it's bugged; I think this could be improved. Middle of a firefight and dragging isn't the best option? How about being able to carry a body that's seen in ARMA 2? This would be beneficial as a faster means of carrying an immobilized partner from a broken bone or simply from unconciousness/shock. If your partner gets shot or attacked from a zombie while carrying, the body will automatically fall to the ground and could possibly die or go into further injury. Carrying a player would be able to fall if you are hit by a zombie or hit by players.Different ways to carry such as a Fireman's Carry and a basic 'Arms carry' .. Unconcious players could be carried as well to get out of an area. Dragging is currently implemented.Maybe with different injuries, more than one person can carry a person. Like a two man's chair carry to prevent that person in pain.180 Rotation Featured in many games; could help turn around from zombies chasing you to engage or players trying to eliminate you.Could make your gun sway temporarily for a brief moment(not too long; like 1-3 seconds to gain focus)Lying on back. This is currently in ArMA 3 but it could easily be placed into ArMA 2.5 Could help to defend yourself if your legs are broken or immobile. Could fire while lying on your back.Zombies could see you as a defenseless target and charge more aggressively for the kill.Hug; Could be good to gain warmth for cold environments without the right clothing or equipment; could be great for fresh spawns having trouble for their first time playing or any other case :) Maybe it could make your relationships with your fellow survivors better with hugging for the Standalone aiming to be an MMO. This could be used as well for a desperate attempt of your last action before a bandit happens to eliminate a pair of survivors! __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Gestures Gestures could easily expand the social aspects of DayZ. Salute is only the primary gesture to prove that we are 'friendly' .. Here are other gestures I can suggest. Salute(return it); This could be great to have along with wave to act your role as a military serviceman with the uniforms and such ;)Wanker/Middle Finger; More of a taunt; no other way to really explain it.Beckon; Tells other people to come to them or letting them know the area is clear.Pointing; Point towards a direction you are currently looking at.Thumbs-up/down; Shows approval or disapproval. Thumbs up could also be a sign for hitchhiking.Clapping; Could be used to make noise for a distraction or simply an applause.Numbers 1-10(both hands); Giving players a number, good for counting an amount of items, players, zombies, etc. or even a number bet to sacrifice yourself(joke) ;PPeace sign; To show peace.Okay; To let others know everything's okay.Hands-Up(Surrender); Want to relent? This is an option for people who can surrender from players :)__________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Topic Glossary by TIC321(Will be edited for enhanced navigation) Chapter 1: Integrate DayZ Forum avatars, clans, chatroom. My Big Idea

I had an idea for the standalone DayZ game. An achievement system that tracks how many zombies, bambies, heroes, and bandits you've killed. How many headshots you've gotten. How many animals skinned. How many vehicles repaired etc, etc... Once you hit a milestone, say you've killed 1000 zombies with a certain pistol. You can choose to start with that pistol without ammo. Say you've used bandages 100 times to stop the bleeding and you then have the option to start with an extra bandage next time you die. Say you've used 1000 bandages and you get the "Certified field medic" achievement and from then on not only do your bandages stop the bleeding but also restore 100-500 blood because your character knows what their doing. Because "Don't worry, I've done this a thousand times!" This Achievement-based system has so many possibilities. I know how it feels to die and start again from square one. But knowing that everything I do is counting towards some small reward later on down the line takes some of that weight off your shoulders, and gives some feeling of accomplishment. Small rewards for big achievements. Special rewards for major feats.I leave my idea in your hands in hopes that they are not wasted. Everyone, feedback please!
  16. I'm actually playing on Chernarus (hard to believe), but here's the catch. The server never restarts! This is a blessing and a curse. Blessing: tents never have a chance of disappearing on you, vehicles are always where you put them last. Curse: crashed helicopters NEVER despawn, loot tables are all sorts of FUBAR, and loot at crashed helicopters never respawns. I'd provide photographic evidence of this, but at the moment, the server isn't letting me on due to some sort of lag spike. I'll update this soon though. Regards, Assassin8813

    Fix 1.7.5

The patch brought bugs to a whole new level. The windshields of heli's get smashed way too easily. I really dislike how stron the zombies are vs vehicles, and I think you should lessen their damage to vehicles.
  18. I understand that, but you could have easily said something as well when I was by it, or while it was running, or while it was lifting off. It was lack of communication both ways, then. Like I mentioned, there are other servers that have items in vehicles, ranging from a wide variety available. I've been on many servers, and there are quite a few that have had engine parts, fuel, wheels, etc. Whoever customizes the server decides what can be in vehicles and aircraft. Then when I lifted off, instead of someone saying or typing anything, I was shot at. I didn't shoot a single round at anyone on the server, and I already explained my rationale as to why I entered the aircraft to the point where it's beating a dead horse. Also, as you may have noticed, voice on side channel was pretty cluttered. People were constantly talking, but not once mentioned while I was that an Osprey that belonged to the admin was mentioned. You should add that to the title if that's the case, so that newcomers don't find one and make the same mistake as me. Besides, what good would talking on voice do when I was instantly kicked after I asked in text in the side channel anyway? I asked for the owner of the vehicle, and was cursed at immediately. At least I initiated communication in some form, whereas all I had were rude members respond to me. You seemed to be able to communicate with your kick message being in all caps lock though when it was over.
  19. Actually me and my friends have done it before in Berezino. Killed 364 zombies in the end. We used M4A3 CCOs, Winchester I found in super market, M1911s, and a AKS Kobra. When you have more then 10 people in a group and have Helis and all the vehicles on an official hive server like we did, it's really easy to get the supplies. This was back on out official hive server.

Looking for Military Clan / Mil-Sim

Hello! I have been playing DayZ for a few months now and have seen my fair share of both positive and negative moments throughout them. I currently play on a private whitelisted server that is experiencing excellent growth and opportunity to play hacker-free among a variety of different player-types. Building a great community and being a part of something really enjoyable is something I have been searching for. Whether it is starting up a Multi-gaming clan that I can relate and help grow, or a military clan that brings organization, rank and fun-military-simulated tasks / events to this wonderful server. If you are interested in joining me or helping me out, I'd greatly appreciate a response! I want to join and meet some great people, while managing something special in the process. I am 21 years old and have a job so I am quite busy throughout the week days until the evenings in-game. These are the details of the server I currently am involved with: DayZ_Unleashed You can also come and visit our website at http://dayz.vrocker-hosting.co.uk where you will find our forums, whitelist applications and stats/leaderboards. Server Features We are one the few remaining vanilla servers (non-modded servers) Active admins that are keeping an eye on the server, even from IRC Plenty of vehicles to go around Automatic backup of our hive every hour We are more about the actual survival aspect of DayZ rather than anything else, hence we have actually increased/doubled the zombie count to what you would normally find on other servers A steadily growing mature community with all admins being over the age of 20 Two dedicated servers, one for the DayZ server it's self and one for our Unleashed Hive The resources to maintain a 100 player slot server Custom wrecks, find farm/residential/industrial loot at various different wrecks scattered around the map Veteran difficulty, the only changes that we have are that 3rd person, crosshairs and waypoints are active No extra starting gear, you get the default DayZ loadout and then thats it, you have to go find the rest of it The only server that is hooked up to an IRC Echo, allowing players to talk to in-game players even when they aren't themselves The simplest Whitelist method that is currently known in DayZ, helping to keep the hackers away and promote a fun and fair server for everyone Server-side fixes from the next DayZ version which fixes bugs such as being able to publish invalid objects to the database Those are just some of the reason you should come and check us out, but come and see for yourself what the server is like, you won't regret it! Whitelist Applications If you wish to apply to our whitelist fill out this simple form at http://dayz.frak.eu/whitelist/ - any applications will be accepted within 24 hours of the form being submitted. Happy survival!
  21. Hey everyone! I'm making this thread because I want to play with some new people. I tried a big clan, and that didn't work. Playing lonewolf got boring after a while, and I really honestly just want a small group of 3-5. Requirments: Skype Mic Mature (13 +) I'm 15. Must speak fluent english!!! Whatever experience you have is ok, I've played dayz since April so I will be able to help you out. We will probably be playing on Chernarus, but if anybody wants to play on a different map we can see what we can do. We will most likely be playing on a private hive, hopefully with more vehicles. Nothing TOO much, just like 50+. If you have a server in mind let me know. I live in Colorado. If you have what it takes, reply with your skype name and I'll add you!

    DayZ Needs a Tank

At this point, I chose to abandon even considering this argument. But it's completely true, after all. Magazine not clip, APC not tank. It's like we're watching television newsreaders. And also it would be more likely to find Warsaw Pact vehicles than NATO ones, even though the M113 has been sold to pretty much everyone. And this is totally irrelevant, but I always kinda thought Chernarus was more like Georgia than the Czech Republic. Even though...y'know...Bohemia Interactive...Czech company...yadda yadda...

    DayZ Needs a Tank

First off, I apologize for the length. A neat little summary is avaliable at the bottom. There are a number of reasons why the presence of armored vehicles in an event would be plausible. In terms of the real world, I'd more or less agree with this, for the following reasons: 1. Of course there will be armored vehicles lying about in the event of an apocalyptic, societal-breakdown-grade event like the one this game depicts. The military will obviously be sent out, and they won't be leaving their heavy equipment at home. APCs like the one pictured will most likely be used in roadblocks and quarantines, which, in conventional zombie lore, tend to get overrun. The soldiers may or may not get a chance to drive them away in the event of said overrun (multi-ton, massive-diesel-engine armored vehicles aren't quite instant ignition like the average sedan, after all). Others will be left ready at high alert on military bases. Obviously, they will be present. 2. Zombies do not have anti-tank/anti-aircraft capabilities. Why there are so many catastrophically-killed BMPs dotting the landscape is beyond me. Unless there was a full-blown civil war that coincided with societal collapse, there is no reason for there to be explosively-destroyed armored vehicles around. So, the military's armor will not be catastrophically killed. Mobility problems, like a broken tread or engine problems, will occur just like in any other military op. Crew kills might hypothetically occur, if the zombies get incredibly, incredibly lucky. Perhaps someone decided to pop the emergency escape hatch on the bottom of certain tank models to take a piss, as many tankers do. Perhaps then a conveniently placed zombie, irritated by that golden shower, proceeded to climb up into the belly of the beast. Perhaps the crew got out of the tank for a second, as obviously people have always done since the invention of the tank, and the zombies chased them off. Any way you think about it, the number of AFVs that get destroyed or rendered inoperable will be fewer than the number left idle and unattended. 3. It's not IMPOSSIBLE to learn how to drive an armored vehicle. For starters, you don't automatically die if you have no idea what you're doing, like flying a helicopter or jumbo jet. Many have steering wheels, and the rest use a lever-based approach that can be figured out in about half an hour. I believe the M113 is the latter. Maybe up to 75% of them will end up somewhere stupid, like in a basement, a ravine, or a pond while people try to figure the controls out. But the other 25% will be successfully figured out. 4. What most people don't quite consider is that even though the military command structure broke down, there will obviously still be soldiers. Soldiers are the ideal candidates for surviving a zombie apocalypse, provided they aren't personally given suicide missions, and just like how you and your neighbor might team up because you're friends, Private Jones and Private Frank would conceivably team up because they've spent the last two years side by side. And, if they were in an APC, then boom. 1, 2, and 3 are all solved already. There's a trained driver, and they don't have to get the vehicle secondhand from an abandoned fortification. So those guys will be roving the wastes, obviously. Now the GAMEPLAY reasons why I think an APC might be beneficial. 1. Given the absence of DIY armored vehicles in ArmA, an APC would fill the niche of heavily-armored big-dog survivor vehicle. It would be useful for fielding rescue calls in conjunction with a radio communications system., or a search-and-destroy mission, or a combat medevac operation. It would also be an invaluable tool for aspiring law enforcers. When these wasteland marshal types receive a call reporting a hostile sniper in a bush somewhere, they would love to have an armored vehicle to let them roll up to the area without the risk of a sniper killing the driver from behind the windshield. And of course PvPers would love it too. 2. Obviously this is not something that would be avaliable on one's first day in Chernarus, nor even one's first week in Chernarus. It would be a long-term goal to strive towards, which this game is seriously lacking in my opinion. Part of the reason I think there is so much mindless PvPing is because people simply get bored; much like this Russian project I was involved with, an MMO variant of Fallout 2 called Fallout: Online, when all you give players are guns and bullets, that's what people go with. They look for the best guns and the best bullets, they find other people with the best guns and the best bullets, and they fight people. Clearly repairing an armored vehicle and keeping it fuelled (more on that later) will be a task that requires trade and cooperation with others. It's not something you can really accomplish while leading a solitary bandit lifestyle. 3. I want a tank. Now, the reasons why I think this is a BAD idea: 1. Armored vehicles' fuel usage is measured in hundreds of liters, not individual liters or even dozens of liters. A five-gallon jerry can would hardly even whet an APC's appetite; they have gas tanks designed to hold between 250L to 1000L of fuel, depending on the model, and they use every drop of it in an extended operation. Most likely a patrol of Chernarus's coastal highway would take over 150L of fuel in an M113, and that's a lot of jerry cans. And I'm personally not a fan of introducing more jerry cans to quiet whiners. 2. Gameplay would no doubt suffer. I'm not particularly a fan of the "that'll make this game too hard for the n00bs" argument; deal with it. Suck it up. That's what this game is about, sucking it up. You'll get swarmed, you'll get sniped, you'll get screwed over in every way. But still, even I agree an APC is a bit much, given the current armory Day Z features. The only thing that could reliably stop it would be the M136, and we all know how rare those are. Until homemade explosives become a feature, I'm somewhat agreeing that armor is OP. A quick disclaimer, though: a good marksman could probably take out the gunner on an M113. And after that, what's the worst they can do, splatter you? Go into the editor in ArmA and spawn yourself an M113. Tell me how hard you think this rolling brick is to dodge matador-style compared to certain other vehicles. 3. I would wildly prefer DIY vehicles over military AFVs. It's simply much more realistic. If it were up to me, my Day Z vehicles would turn into Mad Max jalopies with corrugated sheet metal, chicken wire, and all sorts of ridiculous armor plating. However, that capability is not in the game as of yet, obviously. Still, I think it would be worth the extra effort to design player-made improvised armor features rather than cop out and let them all use APCs. Not that I think a couple of APCs would be a bad thing; I just don't think they should be considered a substitute for these. Well, there's my rant. Take it how you will. Overall, I don't think they'd be as destabilizing as some people say. They'd be fuel hogs, clearly, and they're also only as dangerous as their gun and their speed, which isn't as ridiculously overpowered as some of you are making it out to be. But, I'd like to see a few more features added before they're implemented, namely radios (to make them more useful in the bigger picture), IEDs and homemade explosives, to provide some kind of mid-level counter to these vehicles so that the only plausible anti-tank weapons aren't the ultrarare rocket launchers and the...controversial anti-materiél rifles. And finally, I'd like to also see real post-apocalyptic vehicles with fun bits of 2x4 and sheet metal on them more so than a full-on military APC.
  24. added even more helis! tons of vehicles everywhere. Vehicles have the chance to spawn weapons with them. too awesome!
  25. There are some issues with vehicles and inventories saving as well as players spawning back in with their gear upon death. The server is offline until I get that sorted out.
