This. I've played mainly on EU servers, and they don't seem to be quite as badly infested, although it's still an occasional problem. Like Biggles though, I struggle to find a Whitelisted server I actually want to join - I just want to play vanilla DayZ, I don't want to be swarmed by vehicles, dogs, crash sites etc - I just want a normal game! -

I've been playing on the main hive and TBH will bail from a server most days due to hacker suspicions. US servers are far far far far far far worse than European. I was pestered by some invisible guy on Sunday, just disconnected. I have been finding it hard to find a good white-listed server, there's seemingly no standard servers, the phrase "100+ vehicles" is just a huge turn off for me. -

I don't understand where you're getting this "poor graphics" idea from. All that happens is desaturation of colour from the screen. It's really not a big deal. I find it a good way to represent the idea that blood-loss has left you a little fuzzy. The game will NEVER be balanced for solo play. Even that term "balanced" should leave a horrible taste in the mouth of a DayZ player. :lol: It's brutal. It's supposed to be that way! Some of the best times you can have are when you're hopelessly outmatched and struggling. I love it. Yeah it's frustrating. But it's all part of the package. Vehicles, if they're in use, will not respawn. Folks hide them away, or lose them. It makes it all the better when you've got a little car of your own. I'm not going to comment on night vs. day. I let peoples attitudes about it annoy me too much most of the time. -
Concerning the recent patch, I see it added features galore, but didn't really fix some things, which really irks me. In particular, vehicles, specifically ATVs. These things are like suicide while driving, as for no reason it'll dive 40 feet in the air and pretend its a helicopter, then (rather loudly, attracting nearby zombies) smashing into the ground like a bloody elephant. While I'm not sure if its in control of the dayz devs, maybe it's just the engine, it would really help if my ride stopped crushing me and attracting zombies withing a 300m radius. Not only that, it causes some bizarre sights. While walking around Sol, there's a specific roadblock that only loads when you're like 1m from it, and I saw 3 bandits going at about 80mph to it, on ATVs. It gets trippy, because one of them actually flies like 50 feet, dives over the road block, and gets stuck on the top of a building, while the other two blow up. (I went to help but they shot at me so I threw some smoke grenades and watched zombies eat them. Free loot~) On topic, is there any future plans to fix vehicles, whether it be in the mod or the standalone? Also another thing, off topic (I may make a new topic about this) What types of payment can I use on purchasing standalone? I'm 17 so I don't have a credit card, I get like this weird card from school with funds on it for the town my college is in, but it doesn't work with online transactions. Will there be some sort of game card feature?

Hi all, i am looking for a EU server, Chernarus map (or other), loaded with vehicles , helis, loot, with no hackers and with normal admins and friendly players. I have never killed another player not even a bandit and hopefuly i never will. I like the crafting and researching part of this game. ( hate zombies :)) So somebody recomend....and get beans :)

Awesome, Day-Z+ is a modification of Chernarus, adding basebuilding, loot table editing as well as vehicles. They increased Zed's damage and added all kinds of new goodies. I downloaded the mod with the DayZCommander. edit: or here is thier website

I have acquired some pictures of these heli crash sites, all within (roughly) 1000m of each other. It still amazes me at how lame it is finding these crash sites now, since they spawn nothing. Here's a pic of the first one near the airfield. Without moving the helicopter, here's are some pics of some more in the same area. Notice here that there are actually three crashed helicopters, as the ground is lit up behind the first one. The smoke stacks just aren't registering from this distance. This one is rather ridiculous, albeit away from the airbase. Same position as the last one, just changed the angle. And the grand finale, out in the middle of a field... This obviously blows, because I don't know which heli crash actually has loot near it, so I'm forced to get on a different server to raid heli crashes, but that means I don't have my vehicles! So here's yet ANOTHER depressing story that happened to me. I started playing on this new server that actually has vehicles in it (strange, right?). I'm running around gathering parts for an ATV that I found, and I get it all nice and fixed up. I'm thinking 'GREAT!'. I get two jerry cans to fill it up, and use the first one. As I get the message that it filled, I get kicked for "Script Restriction 40". FML. When I hop back on, my jerry can is empty, and so is the ATV. So I have to use the other one, wasting a jerry can every time I fill it up. This blows. So, I start stashing some good gear in my ATV and I have a camping tent in there, and I'm 'bout to head off and set up base very far away from anybody. So I start heading up north of Gvozdno, thinking that it would be a great place to set my tent. I see the bridge across the lake and decide to head on over and set up on the other side. My ATV flips halfway through the bridge for no reason. Now it's stuck sideways. So I get out and decide to unflip it. Well guess what... It did unflip, but it managed to fly 10,000 ft up into the air, crash down on the ground, and explode, losing everything that I have. I mean, this is the kind of stuff you see on Youtube videos when they make a spoof of a game's glitches, not in actual gameplay!!! So now I need to fetch every part AGAIN and look for those nice weapons AGAIN (x2). Regards Assassin8813 -

Just to keep you updated. @elfishov The main reason why your seeing this more now is due to the amount of zeds chasing now. The behavior of the AI has never changed they have always hit players when your within 3 meters of the zed no matter what they are doing or even looking at. They have always stood back away from vehicles, They have always glitched through walls. They have always attacked through walls. They have always run through objects. The amount of zeds now chasing is the biggest reason you see this more now.

There will be no benefit to being fat within this game as you would be easily overrun by the infected, and will require lots more food, blood pack in order to regain health. Also, greater area for another player to hit with greater trauma and you won't be able to fit in vehicles as well (or as Homer would say, require two seats for the twins)

Cant Change map to Utes? (1st post and new user)

this is my first time posting in these forums and I think this is the right place to post because my server is a private hive server. So if i dont understand the terminology or anything specific right away, its because im new. Ok here is my situation: My friend and I own a private hive server and we manage it together. I mostly spawn vehicles and restart the server and deal with other problems. My friend mostly changes the map and the settings (and does what i do too). Since we both own the server, I asked him if i could change the map (because I have a great PvP idea for Utes). He says sure. So, I have never changed the server map before and a simple solution maybe the answer to this problem. My problem: I wish to change the map to Utes to make it a PvP server, and I dont see the map name under "* Change map". Is there a specific reason why I cant change it to Utes? Screenshot is attached to post What I think the problem might be: My server is a private hive server. Please give me a solution to my problem and tell me what I need to do step by step. That would be greatly appreciated! Thank you. Srry, this is my first post. -
Actually I think the non-ATV vehicles have gotten better. I can run over fences and hit small obstacles without getting stuck or exploding.

It's good how it is imo, those tank traps would be a minor obstacle for a person and even the waist height wire you could dive over if you really wanted to, they should not be a complete area denial for people, vehicles yes.

Hi me and my friends were trying to find a good structure or very small village away from cities that we could store vehicles and stuff, we've got bored of the classic tents in the woods, we tried orvolets factory zombies seem to infinitely spawn there so it was too much effort keeping it secure, any good places? :D

My friend said there is camo nets for vehicles in Dayz +. Is this true? I'm hoping to get the idea added to the UK Balota Buddies private hive so any help would be great..

There are subsonic rounds out there. I've managed to keep myself supplied okay. Just have to have an empty tin can in your immediate possession to boil water- took me forever to find that out. Have yet to see a helicopter crash since the patch, myself. Tents did vanish- but maybe that's a particular server not updating right or something. I lost one, and one survived. The business with Zeds and their hundreds of meters hearing is really driving me nuts. Hope the fix is in soon. Opening a can of soda inside of a building is sure disaster. It seems impossible to chat with players accross the server without being instantly overrun. Maybe I am doing something wrong? Should that work this way, or is there some way to chat outside of Zed hearing range? I should think if I'm talking to a stranger on the other side of Chernarus about some facet that isn't in-game through the chat, that this could happen outside of the game mechanics of Zed hearing, eh? It makes inter-activity with other players really tough. Like the new realism with vehicles a lot. Very nice. Don't mind the Zed's communicating so much- if they wouldn't spot me crawling in the rain at great distance so darn easily. That's the big change needs to be made, and we will be a-ok.

Can you read? Have you seen the hundreds of posts on this forum by people who want vanilla DayZ servers with no added bullshit? If that were true, why are most of those servers empty? Taking away NVG's will NOT fix the empty servers. It's a simple fact that most people feel "entitled" or think everything should be fair and equal. This is why night servers are empty. You can't blame the mod for that. IMO most players need to "man up". The reason people flock to 24hr daylight servers isn't because someone may have NVG's it's because they can't see and they find it's too hard. I have a new server. Set it up vanilla and posted about it. People came on, saw they started with nothing and left. Saw it was night, and left. Never more than 2 players. I switched to 24hr daylight and a Revolver for starting loadout and added 100 vehicles. My server jumped to an average of 10-15 players per night the 1st week. Back to vanilla. empty again. Don't blame NVG's. -
If you guys are looking for an exciting new EU server then look no further! there is something for everyone as there is a healthy amount of PvP aswell for the hardcore out there. The server is properly policed by admins most of the time so we can keep a keen eye our for hackers/exploiters. hey, there is no vehicle spawn on my server(official hive), i wait now 10 days that spawn vehicles. i have type an support ticket. after 12 days no answer. anyone can tell me what to do or something else?! :( ( root-server, german host from www.g-portal.de )

I play on a Namalsk server called "Coke" and it has custom loot, tons of vehicles, and no hackers that I'm aware of. It has a nice community too. -
Zombies are overpowered since patch 1.7.2 (Video as proof)

I want to add a few things. I am new to dayz(within last month). A RL friend brouht me in and we have another friend hosting a server. He updated to 1.7.2, and we currently play a vertran server, I beleive this refers to overall toughness(again still new). The server admin also stated that he has "kicked up" the zambambos to make them a bit stronger(harder hitting mainly I believe). With all of that being said. Yes the Zombies are really annoying. They do seem to aggro at the slightest notion of a players presence. With that also being said my friend and I( just the two of us )found 4 vehicles with standard spawn rates and were able to make a raid on an airfield last night. Yes the Zambos are more difficult but so far it's mainly only sight range than anything else. I can work with that. i feel that it is a bit crazy, though not overpowered. Just my two cents of a new player apparenlty playing on a difficult server. -
I agree with Deli real life friends are best I run with 3 guys right now that I know in real life and we always wok together share camp vehicles and loot, others I just have someone shadow us in case things go south I've got overwatch.
