DAYZ Super Server! You won't believe what we've done!

I would like to invite everyone to play on Hogscraper's Super Server! 7,000 vehicles, 200 heli's and planes including Apaches and F35s! Custom starting loadout! Coyote Backpack, M4A1 CCO SD, M9SD, AS50, NVG, GPS, Rangefinder, Nades and more! 150+ custom scripts including dogs, towing, teleport anywhere on map, invisibility and more! Zombies have had their aggro range reduced to two meters and their movement reduced to 150m/hour! I got tired of playing on full servers and thought 'I could do this!' so off I went. My problem at this point, after putting in more than 750 hours in fine tuning everything is no one ever wants to play here. This is the best server ever so what's you people's problem? Get in here and have fun. I do have a life so I won't be bothered with being their to watch over things so if you're going to use hacks, please don't do anything too crazy guys! IP is 174.3.1 PW:Hogsisthebest Rcon pw is the same as the server password so if you guys want to change things up, please do! Just ask my permission first. Thanks! ------------------------------ Sorry for wasting your time but this is just my way of saying, friends don't let friends start their own Dayz servers. Some of you guys have what it takes and with some hard work, you might just get a healthy, full server. To those very few of you who do, congratulations. To the other 99.99%, please stop wasting others' time by further dividing the playerbase with yet another server that probably will never pass five concurrent players. Why do I even care about all this? Because its getting old seeing servers I enjoy playing on slowly turn to garbage as half the players break off into small groups to start their own server. Stop the madness people! -

We have also added many buildings around the map including barracks and military tents with plans to add more. We also enjoy pvp. Heli crashes always spawn 7 loot piles.

***WEEKEND EVENT*** (March 9, 2013) SURVIVOR’S INTELLIGENCE REPORT: A convoy of military vehicles traveling back and forth from the Balota Airfield to Elektro has been spotted… 1 Military URAL and 2 HUMVEEs. 3 to 4 personnel in camouflage uniforms brandishing military grade weaponry are verified as being occupants of these vehicles. These individuals (who are members of the TTC) are known to BE EXTREMELY HOSTILE and will KILL ON SIGHT any survivors/bandits that attempt to make contact with them. DETAILS: Contents of these vehicles are said to be dozens of M9 pistols, M16s/M4s, M249 SAWs, and large amounts of 5.56mm and 9mm ammunition. Rumors of sniper rifles on board have not been verified. Also noted, large caches of medical supplies (blood bags, antibiotics, morphine) are also suspected to be cargo of these vehicles as well. It looks as if they are stockpiling supplies from both Elektro and Cherno, then transporting them off via helicopter to an unknown location. TIMEFRAME: This convoy will be traveling to and from Elektro/Cherno and Balota from 9:00pm EST (US) on March 9th until 12:00am EST on March 10th. WAY AHEAD/RECOMMENDATIONS: This is an opportunity for any survivors/ bandits in the area to arm themselves, and assault this convoy for their cargo; as they are carrying large amounts of military grade weaponry and medical supplies critical to survival in this post-apocalyptic landscape. From what I gather from this post, you are making fun of all the people that put an insane number of vehicles on, give everything you work hard to get for in DayZ there right off the bat, allow somewhat hacking in their servers and don't even watch it. I'm just confused because nowhere after you describe this shit server do you put trololol. Anyway, I really hope this is a joke, or else I'm NEVER playing DayZ Mod until the SA and goodbye to control freak/ non-existant admins and vehicles parked on every street. Unfortunately, this thread is bound to make a lot of people angry, so watch out! -
@ Chabowski Building bases using barbed wire, tank traps and sandbags would make no sense and cause only problems. Large camps would of course require tons of resources and even if you could manage to build a camp this way it would not be safe...barbed wire, tank traps and sandbags do not stop zombies (barbed wire does not stop vehicles) and even if the devs would fix that every other player would be able to remove you barricades using a toolbox. You could not store your gear or park your vehicles inside your base without loosing everything when going offline. Such a camp would make no sense. Zombies and loot would of course still spawn inside large camps and we would end up with hundreds of idiots building fences and barricades around Stary Sobor military camp and the NW airfield barracks :(

Hello folks, It dawned on me that I had forgotten to define what the new vehicle project entailed. Simply put, there are quite a few vehicles that are not normally found on Taviana(most shown in the screenshots above), and we intend to include them in the spawns on our server. We intend to go beyond simply plunking down some spawns and calling it a day. Our intent is to completely re-do the vehicle spawns to something more themed: Low-income towns may have more beaten-up looking vehicles, rural towns will have more work-truck like vehicles, and cities will have the sort of vehicles urbanites might be found driving. This project has proven to be more ambitious than I originally thought it would be, and we may even end up doing a vehicle wipe if all else fails. On a plus note, vehicle parts salvaging has been confirmed to be working on the test server, and we are looking forward to deploying this feature on The Shack. I hope everyone is having a good weekend! -
scrap metal is used to repair the Body of vehicles. so if your engine needs repair, scrap metal wont fix it, you would need engine parts

An easy way to build bases

What do you mean "too much stuff"?Your base would only be as big as the sum of the parts used. That's all. As for safety. That depends entirely on whether your base is built well or not. It's not supposed to be a brief thing. Building any fortification should require a certain amount of dedication. If that means you have to cooperate with others, good. If that discourages some people from accepting a daunting challenge, also good. Zombies and loot shouldn't spawn near players anyway, so that's irrelevant to this idea. If you come back and find zeds in your camp waiting for you, you'd just have to clear them out. Simple as that. As for players going offline. Their base sections would be up for grabs, same as they would have been initially. Any placed object would be able to be moved, it would just take a while. That's the entire point. Also, including some "state of repair" (being damaged by zeds/attackers, but also being damaged over-time) requirement would allow for people to maintain a base long-term (repairing with scrap), while letting abandoned sections fall into a state of disrepair, eventually breaking, and allowing the items to respawn elsewhere. Like vehicles do (sort of). RE: gates. In this entirely hypothetical situation, why couldn't there be a placeable gate? I don't understand your point here. I actually quite like the "bus-gate" idea. But the vehicle would have to be on the inside to hinder security breaches. Of course, it'd still be accessible without having to open the gate. It would just take more time. As I've said; I think predefined "base" areas would be a poor solution. -

Balota Buddies has a whitelisted Chernarus Hardcore map set up. It's based out of North America. Additional perks: Once you're whitelisted for the hardcore server you can also play on our other servers: Au Public Weapons +, Au Chernarus Whitelisted, Au Namalsk whitelisted, UK Chernarus Whitelisted, Au Taviana, US chernarus Whitelisted (with modded buildings, expanded loot tables, extra vehicles). Whitelisting process is a bit intensive but it's an attempt to keep hackers out. If you're interested click my sig, register on the forums, and then go to "Get Whitelisted!" and fill out an application. -
Banned from "noob friendly - dayzpanthera" server

I have been playing some hours on this server and i saw a nice police car wich was fully repaired. and I tried it out. I drove it for like 10 meters, then i got the message that i had been banned. this is a server with over 300 vehicles, so i didnt know that the police car could be hacked in by someone else. i just want to have fun on my personal favorite map, and what seems like a good server. please help me -

Sure! The AI are being generated almost like zombies, by the grid your'e currently in, the grids cover the whole map, each grid is pre configured with random numbers of bandit groups, soldier groups and survivor groups. The AI can steal your vehicles, as well as listen to your radio broadcasts! (it depends if your'e speaking on low/normal/shout, etc.. Glad you enjoy the server ;)

actually I was a bit tipsy last night, I retract the above post :P couple of tips though: if you want to bump your server thread, add some news like "server just restarted with x amount of vehicles" and make your sig clickable to gametracker link (the url forum code is on gametracker to link sig :) )

Probably mentioned a thousand times and my attempts to wade through the search results yielded no success so I'm gonna try and make this into a concise topic. Add Realistic Injuries to the game, and I don't mean 100% realistic where if you break a leg you have to limp around the forest with a cast on for 2 weeks of gametime. Or so realistic that say you get shot in the (name organ here) you need a transplant to keep living. There would be a bit of things you can do yourself with the right equipment, but there would be things you'd need another play to do to 'fix'. But even these injuries would 'heal themselves' over time (depending on the wound, 12 hours to 2-3 days of RL time (not in game time) ). This would add a bit of immersion to the game, say after your group is done clearing out some bandits/survivors at the airfield, you retreat back to your base/bunker to take care of the wounded. Or you and your buddy get ambushed in Cherno, you can head to the hospital and treat your buddy's gun shot wounds from the guy who just tried to ambush you. I will add more wounds/items as people post if I like the idea or think it would add overall. Mechanics Decided to make this its own section. Pain during treatment: Would apply to most treatments where makes sense. Painful treatments (setting a broken bone, removing bullet fragments, general blood loss) might cause your character (or the character your treating) to cry out in pain, go into shock, or pass out. Treatment: Painkillers and morphine (Before/during treatment), epi-pens (after treatment for shock) Expanded Bleeding: Just something to expand on the current bleeding effect we have. Right now, bandaging pretty much instantly cures bleeding after the animation, and we can only suffer bleeding once. Separate them into Major and Minor, Major would be what we have now, where if left untreated you would bleed out. Minor would be a small cut or scrape, something that if left alone would only bleed a little and scab after a set amount of time. (Lets just say major bleeding ranges from 100-500 blood every 3 seconds, minor would range from 1-100 bleeding every three seconds, and 'heal' after a minuet). I need more time to word this right, Im starting to fal aslep at the keyboard Treatment: Same old same old, bandages and 'time', disinfectant. Exam/Self Check: This is a means of checking yourself or others for wounds or injuries that might not be noticeable. Would be a semi simple thing where the player's character checks themselves for wounds, feeling their body parts for lacerations or GSW, as well as a means of determining how bad the injuries are, and would show up in the chatbox. Example: BigMike checks Clumzy for wounds... Clumzy has Major Lacerations on Right Arm Clumzy has Broken Right Arm Clumzy has Minor Lacerations on Torso Clumzy has Sprained Left Ankle BigMike checks himself for wounds... BigMike has multiple Gunshot wounds, Torso, multiple Right Leg, Left Leg BigMike checks Nick for wounds... Nick seams to be healthy! Treatment: Would be treated as an animation from the scroll menu. Sanitation: This would greatly affect your chances of getting an infection/infected wound. For some things this won't mater as much (broken bones). This would also take area into effect. For example if your treating a partner with a gunshot wound right in the middle of the forest, or next to a mass grave you have a higher chance of giving the person an infection. Doing so inside a building reduces it slightly, in a Hospital even more so, in a player base hospital (if they exist) will be the 'best' one if the 'sickbay' is kept clean. Maybe also with the option to 'sterilize' the area your in (using cleaning products on an operating table as well as sterilizing your tools), the possibility of having medical gear (face mask, latex gloves) further reduces chance of infection. This could also work against the friendly medic, forgot your gloves and mask? Great, that Hero you treated had an infection and you got it now too. Treatment: Disinfectant, gloves, mask, buildings, hospital. Infected Wounds: This would be a chance of happening with any type of wound, would just be the fact that you got dirt or some other foreign matter in the wound while getting the wound or treating it. Treatment: Cleaning the wound (could be as simple as actually washing it with clean water, or using disinfectant), antibiotics. Redressing Wounds: This would make it so you have a lower chance of getting an infected wound after the fact. Would be handeled something like how eating is now, you can only redress a specific wound every hour or so. Reduces the 'timer' for reopening old wounds and resets it (IE if you redress a laceration every 1-2 hours the 'healing' time would be cut from say 8 hours to 6). Add in the use of additional disinfectant or clean/purified water to clean the wound again the greatly reduce the chance of an infection. Treatment: Bandages, disinfectant, clean water. Reopening Old Wounds: This would be a Mechanic added so it would be better to treat your wounds, even if only partially. Right now bandages can fix anything ranging from a large gaping hole in your chest from the 2 clips of handgun ammo dumped in there to having your neck slashed with an ax. For certain injuries bandages would be enough to 'fix' (minor lacerations from players/zombies). However, certain wounds (major lacerations gunshots) would have a chance of 'opening' back up and causing you to start bleeding again (within 8 hours of the original injury), needing you to re bandage the wound (and have another chance of the wound opening back up, resetting the '8 hour timer' so to speak). Treatment: The player or his medic would have to retreat the wound and hope that it won't reopen, or use sutures to 'permanently' close the wound. Wounds Gunshot Wounds: Say if you were shot and survived, after bandaging yourself up to stop the bleeding you have a chance (with lower calibers) of the bullet not being a through and through. After disinfecting the wound you would have to either dig out the slug (fragments) or leave it in, if left in you'd have to take pain killers or morphine regularly for about a day (real life time) before your body 'adjusts' to the bullet. Treatment: Digging out the bullet (optional) yourself with a chance of passing out during procedure. Having another player dig out the bullet (optional) still a chance of passing out but other player will continue treatment. Disinfecting, then bandaging/suturing the wound, having the screenshakes if bullet is still in (for about 12 hours real life time before it 'cures'). Lacerations: Cuts and scrapes basically Can vary from minor to major (minor being attacked by a zombie and getting the bleed effect, major being attacked by a player with an ax or machete) Treatment: Bandaging and or suturing, depending on the severity of the wound suturing might be required. Broken Bones: Magically fixing this by using a pen of morphine really needs to get the boot. And of course it needs to be added to other limbs than just the legs. Say a zombie breaks your arm from a 'Mike Tyson' punch, after you kill or lose it you can only use one handed weapons (machete I'm guessing and a handgun with a accuracy penalty). You would have to set the bone and splint it, your limb will be usable again but with minor impermanent (speed mostly) Treatment: Depending on how bad it is the bone might require setting (chance of passing out during procedure) or just simple splinting. Of course this requires new items to help with treatment. Loot Sutures-Ranges from a pack of dental floss and a sewing needle to a suture kit you would find in a hospital or Medic's bag. Splints- ranges from bandages and a stick to the 'harnesses' with a steel bar in them that most hospitals use. Disinfectant-can range from high proof alcohol, rubbing alcohol or actual disinfectant. Medical tools- things like clamps and forceps to help with treating another player's injuries. -Surgical mask -Disposable gloves Cleaning products- Things like bleach or even simple soap to keep the 'treatment area' clean to reduce infection chance. Medic's Bag, Medkit- Something like the toolbox we have now for vehicles (all the tools in one neat package), the medkit would be the 'basic' version whereas the Medic's bag would be the 'deluxe' version. Medkit would hold an additional 4 consumable med items (bandages, bloodbags, epi pen, morphine) medic's bag would hold 8, and you don't need to open the kit/bag to use them (would act as if it was in your inventory, IE you have to take a blood bag out of your pack to use it on another player, medkit acts as if the blood bag is in your inventory). Not quite sure what the inventory system will be like in standalone yet so this is just working on what we have now. Things to Add: Sunburn, heatstroke, dehydration, injury indicators, 'Exam' animation, Sanitation, Med kits/bags, Redressing wounds, 'Fainting' mechanic

Great video. It was awesome to see people wearing different clothes! It looked more like a group of guys hanging out in their city... which was awesome. I'm excited to see how the clothing system impacts social interactions (clans, gangs, etc...) I love the fact that you'll have to open doors and boots to loot vehicles. And, yeah, that shot of the zombies milling about was enticingly daunting, I'm looking forward to figuring out how I'm going to get through that. And, I love the idea of wandering herds of zombies. And animal tracking, possibly?! Aww, yeah... "Where is he, boy? Go, get 'em!" Excellent! I love the details you guys are adding and if you were making slick videos, I'd wonder why you were slacking off on the game... haha! My only criticism would be for the guests... maybe now the next group will know to be more forthcoming with their commentary; it was a bit painful to look from guy to guy thinking, "Don't everyone talk at once, now." ;)

Well, I heard they'll add some towns and some small areas, and a small island, utes I think, correct me if I'm wrong. That's cool I guess, but it's just small additions. I guess the pace of looting will change from popular areas(dayz mod) to vehicles and enterable buildings. But do you really think that is a big improvement? Lingor has almost every single house enterable. And yes it was interesting, but it didn't really make a radical impression on me. I already know Chernarus by heart. I've been playing Taviana lately, before that Lingor, and before that Namalsk and to tell you the truth I don't feel any nostalgia towards Chernarus. I had good times on that map, but the map itself is very bland. It does have a very "the walking dead" tone to it, but I burned through that a while ago. Also, I'm kinda puzzled by why didn't Rocket use Arma 3's engine, which is a HUGE improvement from the clunkiness of Arma 2's. I mean, some guys already ported-in Chernarus to A3 in less than 24 hours of Alpha release. That would've been a huge leap forward in terms of movements, animations etc. I'm a bit iffy on this one. Sorry.

Hi guys...Purchase a server 1 month ago.2 Days waiting for install and I could not play in my server because i cant' install mod.Ticket to them but they reply only the next 24 hour with"ok I install for you"...Next week no mod installed in my server.Other ticket (waited 2 days:D)Oh yeah i can play in my server.i put vehicles in the map but vehicles don't spawned.I have play only 1 day in my server and i payied 40 usd!!Now i buy a server from dayz.st!!!It's AWESOME!!I recommend it.Bye guys SORRY FOR MY bad ENGLISH GUYS :D
