  1. Makarov is still spawning with a weapon, eliminating the first basic challenge of the game. Sorry for the toolbox misread :) Vehicles takes away every other challenge of the game, survival-wise: You do not need to eat or drink. You do not get tired. You can travel extremely quickly. The Stary-Elektro-Cherno-Northwest Airfield run is super easy, so you can end a 1 hour play session with at least a ghillie suit, AK47 + 6 mags, food, water, and NVGs. This isn't zombie survival. It's lazy jerk that sucks at the game pretending to be survivalist survival.

    Give a reason to play on night servers?

    Players would find/trade/kill for NVGs, then log into night servers and farm loot. That's how the game is played, anyway; night already has perks for playing: Zombies can't see you if you aren't basically right in front of them. Non-NVG players can't see you. "Noobs" throw flares and are super easy to find/kill, if you're a bandit a*shole. Low-population; the N/SWAFs, Elektro, and Chernogorsk will be almost empty. The only snipers after you will have DMRs, so if you're a bandit-hunter like me, you know to expect good loot from bandit kills. Fire-fights are easy, if you have an SD weapon; enemies will light up like firecrackers at night. Vehicles are easy to spot, even with their lights off.
  4. So you won't allow anyone to "Hack" items into the game... But you're perfectly fine with cheating by giving everyone a free gun, toolbox, gear, and putting vehicles all over the map? I'd rather take my chances with hackers on public servers.
  5. its got battleeye extended controls and no u dont spawn with a weapon its got 150 vehicles but thats it and we have active admins

    Skilled Vs Unskilled bandits

    I ambush people ALL the time, with the ol' used car in the middle of the road trick. Does that make me a horrible bandit? Taking on squads of 4 people with offroad vehicles etc.

    Why are you even posting here? If you don't like something, leave it alone. To be honest the 500+ vehicles threw me off a little too but I tried it anyway; I had an enjoyable time on this server. :thumbsup:
  9. yes vehicles have very bug ı cant repair heli and all cars sometimes ı can repair but ı cannot refuel them "refuel" is bugged too ı completly refueled and empty jerry can on my bag but fuel is still : 0

  11. Been wanting to try Namalsk, might be able to convince a friend or two to come along, but none of us will put up with script kiddies. What kind of anti-hack counter measures do you have? Also, is this vanilla Namalsk or do you have like 500 vehicles and start with an assault rifle and backpack full of supplies?

    Vanilla DayZ

    How convenient. You know, it is quite strange how I haven't played DayZ for a while, and never thought of a valid reason why. I think this is what found it. Don't get me wrong, I won't go completely insane if I start out with a hatchet, or even a pistol to grant me some ease. However, when I see servers that advertise MAX VEHICLES, or FULL MLG LAYOUT (Yes, I had seen one of these before), I begin to question how the validated hardcore aspect that DayZ is known for lives up today. I think one server that made me lose my shit is one that started you out with Mountain Dew. Clicked abort and quit faster than Rainbow Dash can split the sky with a "Sonic Rainboom". I should probably go try a bit of BB's Hardcore server, as Steak showed. Forgot that existed. Cheers, Comrades.
  14. Script Restrictions have been fixed, now working on adding a bit more vehicles along the coast. Once that is done the server will be unlocked.
  15. 10 PPL ON, AND new heli spawns, and vehicles spawns. NOW OVER 200 WORKING VEHICLES!!!
  16. I have started a new DayZ server that has 350+ vehicles, 8 helicopters, custom buildings (being added currently) and 3 active admins! There will be events (raiding a castle with high end gear in it, that the admins will be defending) (ural with guns in it so people can fight to the death) (king of the hill: As seen on RHINOCRUNCH) 50 max players, give us a chance. Also spawn with makarov, painkillers, 1 meat,water bottle and a bandage :) There is also going to be a hidden base somewhere in the map that is completely lootable and filled with guns and cars. Our server is called: Beef Nation Search us on DayZ commander or playwithsix! IP: 146.185.30.2:3187 Also if you don't like the features I have listed above, leave suggestions on how we would improve the server :D We need players so just give us a try.

    Motor Vehicle Theft

    OK, I'm back from the field. I didn't find anything at the factories, but my friend and I found several vehicles near the north dam, which we lost in different manners. Later, we raided a camp we found on our server, but a hacker came and we left for the night. When I got back on this morning, there was a GAZ there, so I took it. I ran across a running tractor on the road while looking for parts, from which I took an M107. I parked my GAZ in a not-the-best-ever place because I just can't stand extended off-road trips with it. We'll see if it's there tomorrow.

    Motor Vehicle Theft

    So, after a long and frustrating day that ended in finding a bugged ATV which disappeared when I got off of it, I've decided that instead of searching for hidden vehicles, I'm going to try and kill someone for his car. There are several ways I could do this: wait at a city/gas station wait along a road wait at a factory ask for a ride and kill the sucker who picks me up For several reasons that I'm not going to bore you with, I've decided to wait at either the Solichny factory or the factory to the west of that one. Which factory do you guys think is the most popular with motorists? Also, contribute stories about vehicular theft. I'll post one as soon as I have one.

    DayZ Developer Blog 8th March

    One thing that needs to be worked on before they re-implement vehicles in Standalone... There needs to be more than one way for a vehicle to meet its ultimate demise... Tires can be replaced, sure. But for god's sake... whenever a vehicle is knocked out... it doesn't ALWAYS or even most of the time... EXPLODE in a massive fireball killing all of the occupants. Moreover, simply running into a tree at 30 mph shouldn't be grounds for a vehicle to explode every... single... time. The vehicles are teacups against the environment, I'm pretty sure a good 60% of my deaths over the past year have been accidentally nicking the edge of a jersey barrier or tree stump and having my mostly intact vehicle spontaneously combust. I think the player him/herself should sustain a lot more damage/broken limbs on significant crashes rather than the vehicle. Or rather, that it should vary. Sometimes, my engine should just die if too much damage is taken... or my fuel tank busts and won't hold any gas. As of now, none of these really happen before the vehicle itself explodes.
  22. Hey what's up, would be cool to partner up. Add toml.1993 on Skype, if you have it. I'll be online for a good few hours yet. Got work tomorrow (UK Time) but I'm off for some days after that. I frequently go on private hives with a standard ruleset. No new buildings, average amount of vehicles, stuff like that. I usually like servers to be between 25-40 players.
  23. Hey guys, v2.6 is out. I've added the share function to each waypoint markers, so you can now share their positions using any messaging app you wish. I've also fixed persistence issues on certain devices while tuning up other stuff. So I can now consider the waypoint code solid :) I've also added a Custom Server section for Vehicles in the database. This will include vehicles found in (you guessed it) custom servers. Not much there just now but if you know of any vehicles you think should be included, please message me! Also include relevant data if you can. Cheers.

    Future Development

    I have been thinking about the possibilities of this game and a lot of little things could be added in and even some BIG things Gun and ammo changes- (M9SD used same ammo as an MP5, MP5 clip holds 25 rounds) ability to remove ammo to be able to reload clips, empty clips can stack to 3 ( in an end of the world place empty clips would not be discarded quickly). ammo can be stored into 50 round boxes(most calibers) Ammo box- takes 2 inventory spaces, can hold 5 boxes of ammo in it. can spend time to reload or unload clips. Bases- Allow and item to be made where a radius around it zombies AND loot will not spawn, this will allow a base to get set up Generators- Gas powered- lots of noise, agros zombies solar generators- quiet, less power than gas generator batteries- able to store power to use in foundries and light sources New buildings Foundry- allow scrap metal to be melted down into stock metal to be used in fabricators to make other things, 2 kinds of foundries, Electric requiring generators and fuel requiring a gas supply or electric source depending on the kind of foundry. Fabricators- use metal stock to creat items. Both building are found through out the map but rarely near each other so both sites would need to be supplies and secured At fabricators can make special things Walls- deployable walls to creat a barracade Gates- enterances that can be opened and closed that can keep zombies out. Both of these are able to be made variable lendth so you can set them up in existing areas such as filling in holes in the wall of a castle or in town to secure a block using existing buildings to lessen the amount of wall needed. Locker- Similiar to a tent but only the player who deployed it can put or take items from it fuel tank- buildable and tank that can store LARGE abounts of fuel for foundries or generators, easier to distroy Armored walls- walls used to protect generators or fueltanks Light towers- Tall lamp posts with a light on them, can interact with them to aim the spot light like a scope or just leave pointed at an area (lights will cause zombies to spawn a distance away at night time and have them move toward the light source, for camp player raids the raiders will have to worry about the zombies and if they flee then those in the camp will have to take care of them.) New gear- Repelling harness and rope- able to climb down the side of structures or even deploy from a helicoptor or climp up, climb down at speed of a ladder, climb up at half speed, easy to break limbs while hanging so can be flown into buildings or trees. Bow- Long bow, quivers hold upto 15 arrows, no sites compound bow- same as bow but with site pins Flare gun- small arm that can be used to shoot a flare to signle for a chopper, shoot a short burning light source or light a zombie on fire Mollys- use a empy wiskey bottle, fill with gas from a jerry can, stuff with toilet paper as a fuse, long as you have matches can throw a molotov cocktail Resize guns, 2 pistols are size of SMG, SGM and pistol equil assult rifle, smg and assult rifle equil long rifle(sniper or SAW) Vehicles- Flat bed truck- large storage for moving metal stock and generators Tanker truck- truck with a fuel tank on the back able to carry 5000 liters of fuel Zeplins- The top tier of vehicle that can be crafted and take MANY resources Assult zeplin- slower speed, several machine gun mounts, smaller storage and passenger capicity, Transport Zep- Fewer guns, large storage, deciend speed Floating Fortress- Large storage, medium speed, MANY gun mounts, large anti aircraft gun, ability to lower ramp to deploy small vehicle, catwalk on outside to shoot off of, heli pad for skilled pilot can land smaller heli on.
