Actually it does model bullet penetration and you can shoot people out of certain armoured vehicles. What it doesn't model properly is armour... as far as I can tell, armour just means "lots of extra hit points". An RPG-7 can't take out a T-34 in one shot even though it could easily destroy a T-34 or a Tiger or any other WWII tank, but the same RPG-7 can take out an Abrams or a T-90 in a few shots, even though that would almost certainly not happen in real life. Not to mention the terrible Stryker armour with non-functional SLAT or the ERA that doesn't E.

hey, there is no vehicle spawn on my server(official hive), i wait now 10 days that spawn vehicles. i have type an support ticket. after 12 days no answer. anyone can tell me what to do or something else?! :( ( root-server, german host from www.g-portal.de )

Anybody else find it odd that he calls it a vanilla server but yet it has double zombies and more vehicles and "custom wrecks"?

I am quite enjoying the new patch. Of course a couple issues have arisen but overall a good step in the right direction. I believe a lot of the population of this game have not been around long enough to really understand other issues in the game. Some where not around when you couldn't climb a ladder with a secondary weapon drawn or the completely game breaking visual artifacts that kept me from ever going to any military outpost because I could not see ANYTHING on my screen. So now you are telling me that I might have 15-20 zeds on me after firing 3 dmr shots instead of maybe 2-3 sometimes none at all. I can handle those issues. Also even with all zeds a player is still my main concern. Also I think a lot of people got used to just logging out to despawn or just sitting in a bush. One last thing players that had vehicles prepatch had the huge advantage of the easiest loot raiding. Drive quickly between towns...oh no zombies ok park like 200 m out run in spawn loot then drive up with vehicle and shovel as much shit into that ride as you can. I can not think of an easier way to load up on medical supplies which I believe should be the most precious loot in game. So all in all great work Razor and devs. Keep up the great work and hopefully the hot fix resolves the couple of issues that are currently hindering some people's gameplay. Mostly people that are now having really low fps. Not sure how you play a game like this while having to deal 5-10 fps all the time :( you get my beans.

Dear Udak, I'm Forest one of the 6 active admins on Trauma Server we are a fairly new community trying to build our numbers and would really appreciate your traffic. We are hosting out of Seattle right now, very little to no lag for us here on the pacific coast. However I read you were looking for normal amount of vehicles, sadly for you this isn't the case. We have spent hours upon hours of establishing our vision of this zombie apocalypse, we believe if something like this were to happen there would be a large amount of cars etc. But uniquely we have placed them in realistic places buses at bus stops, trucks in drive ways. We have also added custom buildings, we made it seem as if the Army was retreating to the north and setting up bases a long the way. Hey, been having fun in this server for a few weeks now and have a quite a few regulars on there. Ive spent hours custom coding things to work on namalsk. Base building, booby traps, active combat, anti hacks, flip vehicles, more zombies, and they attack vehicles etc like in 1.7.5.1 but for Namalsk. It's definitely a "bandit" "squad" oriented server, with lots of fully repaired vehicles and the fact that you spawn with load out and can easily find things makes it easy to get into action. It creates some pretty amazing situations. We have a TS available, and all of our other server information is available at ts.det0x.net . Server resets every 2 hours. I'm always willing to listen to player feedback on things, so if there is an over running opinion for Bloodsuckers or EVR that could change as well. I'm a pretty active admin and we have many others active so we keep the hackers out and everyone pretty much has fun even when pvp goes down its friendly. Max Players: 50 Vehicles: 350 (20+ Choppers, mostly civilian choppers) Restart timer: 2 hours Difficulty: Veteran Blood Suckers: ON EVR: On IP: 75.126.39.68:2532 CUSTOM BUILDINGS AND LOOT ADDED! Earlier, I made a post stating that I was looking for a regular group to play with but without all the hassle of being a 'clan' - and then a thought struck me - why not have an informal gathering of like-minded folks who just like to play with others once in a while - there's no command structure, no commitment, no hassle, no 'recruitment' or any of that rubbish - if you want to play with the group, just find one of them and ask if they want some company. Seems logical to me. So, here it is. I'm Jason, I'm EU-based and I like long walks in the forest and stealing poorly-hidden vehicles. I'll play with more or less anyone, but I do prefer someone who doesn't take things deadly serious. Want to play sometime? Maze like Sewer system under main urban areas. Subway system where train cars can be modified to run on alternative power source. Cruise ship near the coast with full interior and undead passengers also life rafts/small boats. Maze like maximum security Prison with lockable cells, (great for taking hostages) Car garage with tools like welder where mad max style modifications can be made to vehicles. Building like Nakatomi tower from die hard, with offices, restaurants, etc. Nuclear research facility like shadow moses island from MGS.

Since Chernarus has suddenly recieved a boost in votes, we are again going to meet on that map. I already have chosen a meeting spot, I will message it to you guys on Friday. Any excess vehicles or weapons/backpacks you can provide would be awesome. Also we have a shortage of medical supplies, so if you have any you can give to the team I would much appreciate it.

Appreciate the offer, but my buddy in Hawaii is at GMT-11; there's no way he could do a server in the UK. It's literally on the other side of the world. Thanks for the input, all the same! I looked into Balota, but it again seemed to be UK-based. If I'm looking for a 'vanilla' DayZ experience (that is, no extra vehicles/starting with weapons/extra help), is that hard to find on whitelist servers? I'm still trying to get my bearings here, but is it par for the course that all whitelist servers are also private (note: I know nothing about server admin stuff, so while a private hub may be required for a whitelist to operate, I wouldn't know that)? And following that, are all whitelist servers modified to some degree off the original DayZ mod? Seriously appreciate the input, it's difficult to ask about this stuff without coming across as a complete noob, when in reality i've logged over 150 hours playing this game[inb4 WATCH OUT WE GOT A BADASS OVER HERE]. Beans to both of you.

It's all but confirmed that we're going to be able to customise and cannibalise vehicles in SA. Players will likely be able to add armour, cages and mounted guns to pretty much any vehicle from the sounds of things. I'd much prefer to see folks rig up their own home-made tank/APC instead of using militaria.

Unfortunately that's just a problem with the low number of vehicles and pointlessness of many towns with no enterable buildings - again, SA should fix these

Looking for group/Server to call home for the rest of my DayZ

Hey we are a group of about 7/8 people around the same age group from 18-26 we are not a clan, just a group of players that play together. We play on taviana on the onetickgaming private hive, the server isn't white listed however the admins are very active, mature and ban players for cheating/combat logging etc i have played on that server for 6 weeks now and never experienced a hacker. We are a well established group with bases set up, we mostly play friendly but if someone is a threat to us our vehicles or our base we shoot them, but always as a last option. The server has more vehicles than normal and you spawn with a makarov so not sure if that's what you're looking for. If you're interested leave me a pm and ill get back to you, we use Skype to communicate so its essential you can use Skype. -

Yes, America is fairly overdone with almost any genre of book, movie, game, or fan fiction you can find. It's a very overdone place all together, but i'm so amazed at how often everyone does the same three spots in america "generic NY copy", "generic West Coast City" or "generic suburban areas with some forests and way too many 'brodonald's'". I think what he was trying to say is, yeah, the desert of takistan was okay, and the european based maps are intriguing, but america has so many more GUNS!!!!!!!!! LET'S GO PLOWIN' ACROSS THE DESERT AND PLUNDER THE VILLAGES WITH OUR DODGES AND FORDS (nice note, europe has some crappy vehicles, particularly Eastern europe....when it comes to survival, ferraris are great...but....yeah you see what i mean) WITH OUR CHEAP BUT PLENTIFUL SHOTGUNS, AND EASY TO ACQUIRE EXPLOSIVES, 'MEHRCA IS WHERE THE REAL MEN FIGHT OVER GUNS (another nice note, we have so much more porn, somehow, someone could implement that into the game, and it could be almost an item of exchange, like money (noticing that some maps now have some sort of infrastructure to them now, with safe zones and money). And one final point, i foresee that Americans (due to their anti-neighborly behavior, and lust for personal security) would be more likely to form small societies after such an event, and quicker too. Not saying we're better at government (just, look at it....yeah...) it's more to do with our habits, and just generally how much more space we have to escape the disease. More americans would survive the disease, but more would die with a bullet in their back. -

Maybe they have crappy computers... sometimes it seems like my mouse is attached to my cursor with a rubber band. Last night I was in a convoy and despite the fact we had the same vehicles, the other guy ended up 1000m ahead of me because my frames were pretty low. Gah.

I don't think vehicles are saving either because my SUV keeps going missing every night when i get off but spawns back in its spawn. But tents really aren't saving that's for sure I guess it will be fixed in the next patch.

1. I think it's worth going up North because, well, it's not worth going up North - There's no reason to go up North if all you're interested in is gearing up (military spawn is completely removed). But as a result not many people are going to head up that far, making it perfect for setting up camp and remaining hidden. 2. All the vehicles I found were at standard spawn points. 3. High value residentials, barns, etc. Ignore military spawns. 4. All military weaponry is removed, so a CZ550 is pretty swingin'.

Hi, my name is Jake. Im looking for a DayZ clan. I want to join a mature clan, but have trouble finding one because most have an age limit. (Im only 15). I am just looking for a mature clan that is organized and skilled. Below I will list things/skills I have for a clan im joining. I have my own Taviana server. I have a mumble server. Im mature. I am a good sniper. ( Except for DMR, not good with it. ) I am a good pilot of air vehicles. (helis and planes.) I speak English. ( Yes, this is necessary as some don't. ) I have a mic. I have teamspeak and Skype. I play and work well with others in-game. I am patient. Iv'e been playing DayZ for awhile so I know everything about it. I can guesstimate range very well. Now sadly I have to list my weaknesses so potential recruiters know what they're getting themselves into. I am not good with close range combat. (But im not bad either,) I can only get on weekends and weeknights. (Late on weeknights I only have experience with Taviana, Chernarus,Utes, and Namalsk Some more random things about me. Not weaknesses or strengths. I am CST. I live in Chicago, Illinois. I am 15.

Zombies were buggy but bearable in 1.7.4. They are not harder now, just broken. Side note: The carebears who sit in forests collecting firewood and "surviving" love this patch because it makes no difference to them, but just makes it harder for the organised squads who utilise both air & land vehicles. I will never understand why devs do not concentrate on fixing the multitude of bugs instead of spending that time adding useless gimmicky nonsense.

DayZ is a mod. You've got to expect people who play mods to modify their private servers to a game type their players/clans/friends enjoy. Some DayZ mods have less loot than Vanilla, some have way more. I have my personal preferences (more vehicles - I hate walking across hugemaps - less starting gear) but I think its great to have variety after all who eats plain vanilla icecream all the time? Boring! -

So instead of being a reasonable price at $25, considering how much of a departure Day Z SA is supposedly going to be compared to even 1.7.4.4 and even 1.7.5.1; Rocket thinks he should be able to charge 40-60? Because of War Z being so much shit? Sorry bud, but with all the changes, I wouldn't be willing to spend more than $25 to find out if this entirely different game, is worth the money. At least when I bought ArmA, I got a whole slew of other options to explore. I didn't spend $20 to play only Day Z. I won't spend $40+ on Day Z by itself, especially with ArmA 3 coming out. No thanks. Day Z is fun, but it's also changing. I'm not so sure how I feel about the micromanage changes yet, but I sure as fuck wouldn't pay $40 to have god damn zombies warping through walls. Can you say War Z 2.0? Edit: Q: Are players going to have to re-learn how to play DayZ with SA? Meaning, has the core gameplay architecture changed so much that things we have learned (repairing vehicles, filling a jerry can, giving a blood transfusion) will have to be re-learned? A: Yes ^ Exactly why the price shouldn't be more than what it is, one map that has about 20-30 km^2 of populated area, and will be a huge departure from what the entire Day Z player base is used to playing or somewhat expecting...
