NEW OPEN SERVER! 50 PLAYER SLOTS! ORIGINAL DAYZ!
xISimpoIx posted a topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
Welcome to Simpo's Server! I.P. 185.2.139.156 Port: 3051 We play DayZ like it was supposed to be played, no 24/7 Daylight, No impossible to kill players and no admin interference! We offer you the best experience you can possibly have and enjoy the original gameplay. What we have to offer: Admin help - all questions will be answered the best we can possibly answer them, as long as it has to do with the server. Loadout gear - Normal servers give you a AS50 and that would be it. I mean come on, where is the fun in doing that? Our start up gear is: Backpack - ACU Assault Pack Primary Weapon - None Secondary Weapon - Revolver(2x 6 Rnds) Gear - Painkillers, Water Bottle, Baked Beans, Bandage Tools - Map, Matches, Hatchet, Regular Flashlight 100 Vehicles incl. 5 Heli's, 3 Planes, and PBX's. We only offer 100 - 125 vehicles because the rarity of finding a vehicle on servers are stupidly low now, vehicles are becoming common, guns are getting to easy to find and bandits are forever increasing. Lets bring the old past back into the future! No admin abuse - The admin will be playing the game just as a normal player, no spawned in weapons, no teleporting players, just a normal player joining the ranks with you guys! Gun Shop Day - Every week, usually Wednesdays at 6:30 European time, the admin will gather all of the weapons he has found(usually between 25-50) and open up a gun shop. Here people can exchange weapons, purchase food, ammunition and sometimes vehicles! Fight for base - Every week, usually Saturdays at 6:30 European time, the admin will mark a base on the map where all the players searching for a base will fight over until there is one player left. WARNING: any weapons or loot lost in the firefight will not be replaced. RULES( Breaking these rules will result into a kick, further aggression will then result into a ban): 1.) No spamming voice/side chat. Doing so will result into a kick, further aggression will then result into a ban. 2.) No giving abuse over side chat. 3.) No cheating or spawning customized weapons or vehicles. 4.) Permitted to only 8 vehicles per person. 5.) Don't ask for free perks, please check out the perks section below. Admin Rules( If the admin breaks any of these rules, he shall purposely sacrifice himself and mark the location of his base on the map): 1.) Not permitted to ban player for killing yourself or clan members. 2.) Not permitted to shutdown your server when your killed. 3.) Not permitted to shutdown your server when you lose a vehicle. 4.) Not permitted to kick or ban for rubbish talk. 5.) Not permitted to ban for suspicions of hacking, solid evidence is needed. Added Features: More buildings added, not permitted to give away location of them Upgraded Elektro and Cherno e.g. added buildings, increased loot. 15 More vehicles added after update on 31/03/2013 Please check out our server, we will be very thankful and much more things to come! -
DayZNamalsk - EXPERT DIFFICULTY - No 3DP, No CH, No Nothing. Cry About It. IP Address: 108.62.145.138:2332 While it is widely believed that Namalsk is the red headed step child of Day Z community, we have currently dedicated a server to the map and removed all handicap settings from the game in order to ensure a more difficult and challenging experience. No, we have not removed blood suckers... No, we have not removed the blast effect... We have turned off third person. We have turned off cross hairs. We have turned off death messages. We have turned off waypoints. We have turned off name tags. We HAVE NOT added 500+ vehicles to the game. We HAVE NOT added in custom load outs so that you start off with the best gun and don't have to work any. We HAVE NOT added ANY additional handicaps to players. What makes us different than other Namalsk servers? We plan to populate (the few in existence are empty majority of the time), advertise, and market our server to those who are seeking a legitimately challenging Day Z experience and to play the game the way we felt it was meant to be. If you are anything like some of our members, you have grown tired of the everyday running around, looting, and losing zombies through buildings and the occasional player encounter that lasts a whole couple of minutes. You want some challenge and a way to really test your survival skills in the world of Day Z. We feel that with community, comes some amazing experiences. There is great potential. Some other features we plan to implement very soon: Server/Community Events An actual story to follow if you choose A living, breathing atmosphere with constructed world events (both scheduled and random encounter events) An overall experience that is a bar above the vanilla day z experience of old. We welcome any questions regarding the server and/or a visit from you to our server.

NEW OPEN SERVER! 50 PLAYER SLOTS! ORIGINAL DAYZ!
intensity replied to xISimpoIx's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
I liked the server until you mentioned the whole "perks" thing. Don't really like the fact people that have money can buy weapons, vehicles, etc. in a zombie survival game, which doesn't make it seem very "original" either. Other than that, seems like a great server over all. -

PAX East - March 2013 - Presenation/Q&A/Interviews/Articles
fubar_in_pittsburgh replied to SmashT's topic in Mod Announcements & Info
If anyone else posted this already, sorry. From mmorpg.com- "2012 was a whirlwind year for DayZ creator Dean “Rocket” Hall and after a highly successful run with his mod for ARMA 2, Bohemia Interactive gave Rocket its blessing to work on a standalone version of the game, providing him with the financial and logistical support necessary to undertake the project. Over the past couple of months we’ve seen bits and pieces of the mod here and there in the form of screenshots, blogs, and video blogs, but PAX East was to be where Rocket would give players their first live look at the upcoming game. We spent some time with Rocket to discuss the DayZ standalone and get a short preview of some of the interesting bits he’d be showing off at the PAX East panel. You can find that interview below. One of the interesting things we learned about the project is that the DayZ standalone isn’t really based on ARMA 2 and it isn’t really ARMA 3, either. The underlying technology is kind of a mish-mash of whatever the team needed for their project. For example, some tech, such as the improved controls of ARMA 3, was leveraged to enhance the DayZ experience. The team is also updating the skeleton used in the game (the first time in eight years) to improve motion and animation. This also means separate skeletons for first and third person, which should allow for better melee combat, something that will be much more common in the DayZ standalone than it is now. As part of the new control setup, Rocket is playing around with a new function that requires players to physically aim at a target in order to indicate they are hostile. The hope here is that having your gun pointed downwards by default should alleviate some of the kill-on-sight behavior found in the DayZ mod. There were a couple of key points Rocket wanted to highlight at PAX East. The most important of which had to do with the delay of the alpha (which was supposed to release by the end of 2012) due to complications involving the implementation of the DayZ standalone client/server model. In the ARMA 2 mod, hacking is extremely rampant due to the fact the vast majority of the game is clientside. In order to avoid this, Rocket and his team are implementing a new client/server model that keeps just about everything on the server side of things. Since the team was unable to get this done in time for the projected alpha release date, the release was delayed. The team is tentatively looking at around June for the new release date as Rocket will be scaling Mt. Everest over the next two or so months. No. I’m not kidding. Rocket also used PAX East to show off the standalone’s new inventory system. He was a bit apprehensive of showing this to the public due to the fact the feature hasn’t had an art pass yet, but the functionality looked much improved over that of the ARMA 2 mod. The new inventory screen is similar to that of your typical MMO paper doll, complete with the ability to drag and drop objects on and off your avatar, including the dropping of items into applicable item slots, such as a shirt pocket. Pocket sizes will be realistically modeled, too. This means you won’t be able to place an assault rifle into a shirt pocket, for example. The new inventory will also tie into the game’s crafting system. A sort of context menu will allow you to combine certain objects with each other when you drag-and-drop them onto each other. New gameplay designs are being implemented to shake up the survival gameplay of DayZ, too. For example, in addition to your health and blood levels, Rocket is adding ‘Shock’ to the game. This feature is inspired by the original X-COM and the short version of it is that if your shock level exceeds your blood level, you will be rendered unconscious. Your blood levels will regenerate over time as long as your character is meeting hunger and thirst requirements. Once your blood levels are back to normal your ‘Health’ will begin to regenerate as well. With that said, Rocket wasn’t happy with the fact players could just pig out on food and be OK, so there will be detrimental effects to your character based on your diet. If you try to just live off of a ton of energy bars, you’re going to have a bad time. Rocket will bringing DayZ “back to basics” when it comes to weapons and vehicles in the standalone. In fact, there won’t be any vehicles at all in the standalone’s initial release. The assortment of weapons will be greatly reduced as well, with the focus shifted to melee weapons. Expect melee weapons to be much more prevalent than ranged weaponry, at least initially. A new radio system based in part off of the ARMA “A.C.R.E” mod will allow players to use radios with a variety of channels to spy on other players. For example, you’ll be able to hide a radio at a location and listen in on others’ conversations (both voice and text chat). This should allow for some interesting possibilities when it comes to protecting territory, among other things. Finally, base building was mentioned once again. The plan is to allow players to dig their own underground bases that are essentially separate instances. The reasoning behind this is that the map isn’t large enough to have players build bases above ground. Bases will take a considerable effort to construct and maintain and their value was compared to EVE Online’s capital ships during the panel. Q&A Highlights A Q&A session was kicked off following Rocket’s presentation; we’ll sum up some of the highlights for you below: Rocket wants to discourage kill-on-sight behavior by giving players more to do and enhance the importance of medical supplies. He doesn’t want to force players into any particular playstyle. The team is looking at restoring some sort of scripting functionality to allow players to script for locked doors and set traps. Rocket compared this to the way scripting works in Minecraft. MMO-style trading system to be implemented. Systems will be in place to deal with server hopping. Server will be able to detect you are doing it and will lock you out of the game for a period of time or even load you into the game asleep on the ground, which will make you vulnerable to being attacked. Ammo will be separate from magazines. It will be possible to refill and remove ammunition from existing magazines. These were some of the most important points we picked up from the panel. If you’d like to check out the full panel video, you can do so below:" -
another call for vanilla servers
Saethkept replied to [email protected]'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I hear you clearly, and agree ... mostly. However, the vanilla experience seems to be restricted to public servers to a degree. I had struggled and struggled (what DayZ is about essentially I suppose) for months to find what you seek as well. However, the hacker situation or the abusive admin situation, or the clan dominance on the server situation ... drove me to rent a private server. We (not a clan) have been tinkering with recreating a more immersive and challenging DayZ experience on our server, but it is not all that simple. Where we diverge in thought perhaps - regarding a more pure DayZ experience - is in a feature set. For instance, most recently I recommitted to running DayZ Taviana.eu due to the by headshot only death of zombies which really adds to the challenge and environmental threat. Also, we have tweaked the zombie speed, hit damage and skill. I do get where you are coming from though. On a vanilla Chernarus server I once spent five hours repairing a Skoda. Another time I practically lived in Msta by a tree stand trying to figure out how to get unstuck a Hilux pickup stuck between two wrecked vehicles. I miss those days. -
Friendly PVP Server with AI Bandits and Trading Zone.
haywardgb replied to haywardgb's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
A solution to stop them taking your vehicles was suggested by another player earlier in-game. They suggested that removing a wheel and putting it in your car stops them driving off with it. That way if it is gone when you log back in, you'll know for sure whether a NPC or a Player took it! Again as for players logging in and dying, that's a known issue with dayzcode. So far it's not happened to me , so i can't say first hand. Meanwhile though I did remove the hero skin to prevent most of the bugs associated with that, everything else is just out of my hands :( -

Hi, I have just started a private hive server :)
NoLio posted a topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
Hi everyone, I have just started a new private hive server (50 slots) and would really wish that a couple of people came and played along with me to help get the server going strong :) The server is playing the Chernarus map and has me and some trustworthy friends as active admins that will make sure that the playtime for those who join will be pleasant. It is full daytime with over 100 vehicles spawned aswell. I am a very friendly guy and I wish for the server to be the same, which means a friendly community that betrays and kills eachother ;) If I have gained some interest, then the ip-adress is: 146.185.23.130 and the port is 3034. The server is called: "[DK] - DayZChernarus - Active Admins - 200+ vehicles - (1.7.6.1/102591) - [REGULAR] - Private Hive" -

Being a Lone wolf, you should consider it.
Maloney (DayZ) replied to mitor's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Most of the people looking for partners or clans are generally players who have been playing for months and want to try something new. Two is company, three is a crowd. Having just one friend work alongside me is good as we can give eachother blood transfusions and such. I never try and repair vehicles either, I find it more fun without one, If I find one that works I'll use it till I run out of gas. For example, I was lost and luckily found a bus on the outskirts of the map, I guess someone had hidden it there. I drove it to the NWA and left it in a hangar, I then proceeded to loot the place and got out of there asap, leaving the bus inside the hangar. Hopefully some warm-hearted hero found it. I think the game is more fun without having to secure your vehicles and equipment. I like to keep things neat and tidy. -
When you see spawn locations for bikes on the various website, it's not a guarentee that they will be there. First off, by default, there's a 60% chance that the bike will spawn (same for all vehicles), then there's a limit to the number of bikes that can spawn on one map by default. On my server, I have custom spawn points for all vehicles and I have bikes all along the coast. They are very common. I also placed a number of bikes in small villages throughout Chernarus. All of my vehicles are respawned on Sunday mornings and start will full repair and fuel.

Noob Question about Saving game from a NewBie :)
applejaxc replied to nikhilkdipsar's topic in New Player Discussion
I'd suggest you only play on public servers; private servers tend to have very abusive admins, who teleport around, cheat in gear, and kill you or ban you from the server if you're better than them. I'm not over-exaggerating. Public servers do face the potential issue of a script-kiddy joining and using cheats to do very much the same things, but it's as simple as hitting ALT + F4 to disconnect before you're killed. If the server gets laggy, you can join another server without losing all your crap. How to tell a private server from a public server: Usually private servers have dumb names, like "Chernarus Pro Only" or "Factions Raid PvP 200+ vehicles 3P enable" Private servers are run by jerks that can't play the game right; they modify the mission.sqf or .pbo to make more vehicles spawn than normal, more loot than normal, and disable the day/night cycle. Private servers are leeches that suck the blood from DayZ. The concept behind them is flawed, and Rocket should have never allowed them to open. -
DayZ Alpha won't launch until launched !
byrgesen replied to [email protected]'s topic in Mod Announcements & Info
You are right, they arent spending big bucks, but you obviously dont know what BI is all about, its never been about making big bucks, in any of the Arma games... It wasnt even popular before DayZ. (niche genre) And even with DayZ they still aint no where near EA, or other giants, on sales. BI is a very small company, trying to pull off something nobody else does, a complex shooter borderlining to pure simulation, with all battlefield elements (vehicles, artillery, etc.) and they are doing it like nodoby else tbh. For the SA they are on a completely new playing field. They havent done anything like this before, so one could assume theres more "trial and error" processes, then they have in TOH or Arma III. That could be one of the biggest reason as to why its not relesed yet. To much brand new code Yes yes, engine and all that, i know. But they are trying to make the Real Virtuality game engine do things it has never been able to do before. It takes alot more time then simply "adapting" the engine for the next gen game, like TOH and Arma III. And dont be fooled by the big companies out there, BI is not here to make big bucks like them. They "sacrifice" popularity and money for fantastic gameplay and content, you can call it theyre business model :) Even the BI devs have said multible time, they are implementing stuff into the game, because they want it in the game, not because it will earn them more money... Thats what i love about them, they have integrity compared to most others. Just because most companies rip you off and make you pay for every little thing, doesnt mean everybody does that. -
RIP GB Wireworld Vanilla DayZ Server - It was a lot of fun!
Dayzo replied to wireworld's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
I'm not sure how often the admins look at the database - I hope only when they're trying to fix a character or a spawn issue. However, I'm quite confident that they don't have the type of 'backend' GUI that some server hosts provide, which allows you to see the positions and movements of all the players, vehicles and tents. They are only able to look at the raw SQL database tables as far as I know, which are quite difficult to use for cheating purposes. Basically on any server, it comes down to trusting the admins. If you don't trust them, then the only option open to you is to find another server. I will say this though... I've played alone for the last six months on Wireworld. I don't have an affiliation to anyone and have 'hooked up' from time to time with many different groups throughout that period to relieve the loneliness and boredom which comes with playing alone. Very often (if a group lets me), I'll just sit in a TS channel simply listening to them play whilst mostly doing my own thing. The current admins have also been on the server all that time too, and I've spent over 200 hours in various TS channels with them. In my experience they have a lot of fun and are as fair as you can be in this glitchy game. They usually try to play DayZ as it is supposed to be played - repairing vehicles, pitching tents, collecting gear, using all of the map - not just ambushing people at hotspots (although they do a lot of that too). Their kill/death ratios are within normal bounds, considering they are experienced PvP players. I trust these admins to try to do the right thing. I also acknowledge that issues are rarely black and white, and that their decisions cannot please everyone. I don't expect the admins to spend hours pouring through logs or interviewing players for their sides of the story. If an issue can't be verified in fifteen minutes, then they just have to go with their gut feeling which may be biased or even plain wrong. But I'm absolutely certain that it's not deliberate or malicious, which is one reason why this is my favourite server. -
Can anyone leave any suggestions on how I can get people to join my new DayZ server? We've had it for like 2 days now and nobody has joined :'( We have 200 vehicles and 3 active admins, custom start gear and events. Anything will be appreciated

Longest time you've survived + Story
andrew_s90 replied to TGH's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
My longest survival was on the public hive, I lasted a little over 200 days (haven't died on a public hive since august or so - ran thousands and thousands of miles on that char) I used to make a camp up north and I ran around hunting animals and gathering supplies.. at one point me and my brother gathered a decent size camp that had 3-4 as50s and lots of other high grade weapons.. 2+ nvgs and a couple decent size backpacks. Mind you this was in the early days we played dayz so we looted early in the morning, at night on very very low pop servers because we were scared, no idea how to kill or deal with other players. We got a huge camp of tents going and our only vehicle was a bike that we took turns using.. We lasted it out. Eventually we found private hives and fell in love with them, all the customization that was done, different vehicles, more vehicles drew us in.. being able to play on other servers and have lots of gear on many servers was the best. Anyways come to an end, we both lost our super long characters about a month ago when the official servers were barren and they had been alive so long that the characters were reset..(or something like that) we logged in both back on the coast, but the characters were just there for memories.. it was all for fun :D We both had m107s/as50s and every kind of tool, both had nvgs and rangefinders, one gps between us and coyote backpacks, ghillies etc. -
So I'll make this quick and clean. Im 19 and looking for a few maybe two, three people to join me on a private server. I'll get you geared up with some basic stuff and the rest we'll find soon enough. I got a few vehicles, a helicopter and this and that. I live in the EU so preferably people in the EU due to time zones and stuff. We use teamspeak to communicate or sometimes skype, so atleast teamspeak is a must. Also I'm only looking for mature(ish) people (16+) and people that can joke around but still take the game somewhat serious. Would be nice if you also had some experience in the game since I don't feel like driving a "bambi" around and teaching them how to eat. And english is a must, if you know finnish it's always a plus ;). Anyway if your interested just respond/pm me with your age, location, steam/skype and dayz experience and let's get started! Cheers, Kopss

Longest time you've survived + Story
Auslovich replied to TGH's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
My longest would have been about a month/31 days. I dont quite remember, but I know I spent a while on a lingor server hoarding vehicles and organising ambushes on other groups. My longest confirmed life was only about 8 days, I died just a couple hours ago. I had NVGs, Rangefinders, Coyote backpack, full toolbelt, M4A1 Holo GL, an M9SD and I had racked up about 5 kills, 2 of them in the battle before I died. I was on a veteran Celle server with custom buildings, and was at a place modeled after the prison in TWD. It was night, I was outside the perimeter fence and saw two people running around inside at opposite ends of the prison. One came close to my end, and I killed him as he came up the stairs on the outside of a building. He had a smaw, NVGs and other goodies, of which I only took the NVGs, some drink and an Entrenching Tool. I saw who I presumed was his friend hiding to the side of a barracks building, and I could tell he knew where I was. There were a few awkward minutes in which I thought of a plan to take him out, and I eventually settled on grabbing the dead dudes smaw and running out and shooting him. It worked, but I was taken down to half health. I ran down to loot his body, and I came under fire from an LMG. I was down to a 1/4 of my health left, and took cover behind a wall, and I popped two shots off at him. A only couple of them hit, because he was a few hundred metres away. I stayed behind that building for about ten minutes, peeking out to take a shot at him. I never saw him once again, and I assume that he logged as I swear there was one less player online. I decided to stay behind a ridge, and see if he would pop out. After a minute, I was shot at down to flashing blood from behind. I could hear a DMR and an M4A1. I bandaged, but because of some lag (I assume) I died just after. After typing in chat, talking to the guys I'd killed, and who'd killed me, I found out that there were (out of the 6 individuals) only two were together, meaning that there were 4 players in the 600x600m area inside and around the prison, and a couple more just outside that! Over all, it was an rare satisfying death, and there were no hard feelings as far as I could tell. -

In Europe where I live there are plenty of private servers which are vanilla or almost vanilla (e.g. a Makarov, which I discard since I dislike it anyway). The problem is vehicles however: a little bit too many sometimes. _Anubis_

Clans go away I don't want to join a clan(or social group, or community, or whatever the fuck you want to calll your group) QQ Hey, I'm 14 but I have a slightly higher pitched voice than most. I still sound ~14 but higher pitched than most. I am only going to use Skype for right now, no TS just because it's too much of a hassle for playing with one guy. I'm also in the EU but I can only speak English. Also I'm on a laptop that runs DayZ on all low settings with all the optimizations I could find at 8-20 FPS depending on the area. I've been playing DayZ since shortly after you spawned with revolvers so I know just about everything about the game that there is to know. My playstyle is pretty complicated. Basically as soon as I spawn I'm friendly until I find my first non-civilian tiered weapon. Once that happens anybody that has a bandit skin dies and anybody that looks suspicous dies. Then when I get a vehicle it tends to just be KoS anybody that is near me/in my way. Also people in vehicles are KoS because I really need dat shit. I can fly helicopters pretty fast as well. My server preferences tend to lie towards more 'hardcore' servers that at maximum have 100 vehicles and 2 helis. I don't care at all wether it's private or public hives. I was thinking maybe BMRF #2 would be fun or AWA. I'd prefer 30-50 players on a server. Maps that I will play are Chernarus or Taviana. Also be prepared to use terms like cardinal directions since I like to play a bit tactical. I'm pretty mature in general but I'm not going to be very formal. Also if you're a bit younger or older I don't really mind unless you're an 8 year old squeaker or a 40 year old man.
