Darrus, After a long hiatus, yes, tents normally go bye bye. I think the rule is still that you need to touch it every week or so. The stuff you found there was from someone else who found you out, watched your stuff for a while, and when you were really gone, they just squatted. Dumb on their part. Tents can disappear and reappear after a server restart or two, but this problem is largely gone from the better-managed servers. I believe your concerns with the M107 are being addressed in an update soon. As far as foul play being involved with your camp's discovery: Absolutely, just go ahead and assume yes. All server owners/admins know where your tents, vehicles, spawn locations, etc are. All of them, all of it. No exceptions. Check out the FAQ on the hosting companies that provide most of the public hive servers. It's listed right on their page, touted as a feature you are buying, along with the ability to password-lock the server - which used to be an enforced, kicked off the hive, no-no. It's really not worth putting that much thought into it actually. Just accept it and hope the stand alone is the complete opposite in that regard.

So. I've logged into my camp after a long hiatus, found that all my tents are missing and all that was left was a damaged truck and intact motorcycle, both of which I didn't park there, containing weapons and miscellaneous goodies (which I took) alongside a tent and relocated my base (after all it was discovered). So it might just as well happen that the tents respawn at some point? Might be worth to check back there some day or another... side note: I do not approve of the M107s on the truck that lock on to everything from vehicles to people to tents... I assume there was foul play involved in my camp's discovery...

Come hang with the admins tonight between 6pm-9pm Eastern Time and play our event, "Stop The Convoy". The Admins will be driving a series of vehicles from Point "A" to Point "B": -Point "A" being Northeast Airfield -Point "B" being Kamenka The main convoy will include either 2 Humvee's and 1 Ural or 1 Humvee, 1 Ural and 1 Little bird. The event will consist of attackers and defenders. Defenders will be the convoy admin and attackers will be the players. Players are encouraged to bring their own gear and work as a team. The Ural will be containing high grade military weapons that are not normal spawns in DayZ (ex. Scar-H RCO GL, KSVK...) so we condemn you to not blow the Ural up or you will receive no prizes for the event, hence "Stop" The Convoy. Admin body looting is allowed too. Do whatever is necessary to stop the convoy, shoot out the tires, shoot the engine, kill the driver. Admins will get out and return fire when they see fit. They will also have Vehicle parts to fix the convoy if it's damaged. Work as a Team and split your spoils or go Lone Wolf and collect the Treasures yourself. A group of us got together to start a server due to the abuse of admin powers and tent duping. Our server is fresh only a few week old with custom vehicles and helis around the map. We have included scripts which enable vehicle part salvage, autorefuel, and a custom Ai military spawn . These Ai patrol the map with rare loot in their gear. Have to find them to get it. Heli crashes and loot tables have also been tweaked. Included on the military units are nonspawnable loot including the m4spr and scar h variants. These ai run in squads and are very difficult. We have begun editing Cherno and a future active military base inspired by Salvation Island. So join us to help us improve our server. We have multiple admins who are friendly and readily take suggestions about the direction of the server. This is the reason I never have large camps or leave vehicles anywhere near my tent. Good job though. I recently acquired five satchel charges so the next camp I find is gonna get it! -

Update on server: New Anti-Hack tools, like to see these hackers get thru this! No Trolling Bases! You can raid/steal, whatever just don't bomb and damage and run over everything. Nothing is 100% Safe on this game, and base's are set up well, but not impenetrable, just have to be tactical and work with friends to raid them! And blowing everything up, and running over all the tents, is well a dick move, we don't really care for. :) We are only allowing 2 Urals, and 2 Choppers of your choice, not the same type either! Example: 1 Huey, and 1 Osprey Or 1 Sea hawk, and 1 Osprey, up to you really but only 2! Cars/trucks bikes/moto are plentiful on the server you can have a few of them, just don't go over board! It has come to our attention that there are not enough vehicles/choppers to go around. We do update our spawns, and everything on a regular basis, however we don't want people to feel like there is nothing on the map. There really is, but we figure with as populated as the server is getting, there needs to be some rules, with choppers and vehicles, we don't wanna see one base have 5 Huey, and then no one else can get a Huey! -
I was banned from the server couple of days ago, not exactly sure why, the message simply says "admin ban". The server admin ignored my friend invite in steam so I'm hoping he reads these or someone who knows him does. The incident went as follows, and since I was recording, anyone can also view it here: (the video is in finnish)Me and my friend were running to NEAF when we spotted someone crashing a helicopter there and dying, so naturally we went to loot their corspe, which had AS50, nv, rf etc. All the best stuff. This combined with several vehicles around caused us to suspect it was a hacker, so we decided to leave the server before anything nasty would happen. Then suddenly I noticed another guy standing at the corpse holding as50 and shot him. Then I waited for the combat to end so I could log out and got banned. EDIT: RESOLVED

If I had just reset the players and vehicles and stuff the server would have still been broken from that glitch everybody was complaining about! So with a total reset, it removed the scripts but it fixed the bugs! So it had to be done. -
Hello everyone, I don't know if my idea was posted before but I was thinking at it before the development team announced that they were adding Utes in Chernarus. So i think all map (official at first and some of unofficial) could be gathered, to make an "extra large" map. But after this idea, I thought that it could act like these maps will be separated by a long desertic land. I explain : Actually, you want to play with your friends in Tchernarus, so you log on a Chernarus Server, if you find an airplane, or an other vehicles with long range, this is totally inutile. Why ? Because an airplane is made to travel long distance, and it's totally unefficient on short range like in Chernarus (you only have three air strip, and all of them are the most attractive place to be and to snipe...) The placement is only a supposition, I thought that Namalsk shoud be all on the North, Chernarus (+ Utes) and Taviana have nearly the same weather, the same for Takistan and Fallujah. I wondered me if Panthera has a place here, because I see this island, like Lingor Island near the south america... My suggestions is that players could choose where they want to spawn, like they choose actually in what map they want to play, with the abilities, if they find a plane or a chopper or a boat, to go through the limits of the map and could go explore other map, to find another specific stuff. Another suggestions will be that little Island will be created all around the sea, where teams could make a camp, protected from outside, without civilians loot, like baked beans, but with a lot of meat, and lot of vegetables, etc to eat. I know that a large amount of map like that is not very easy to handle for the server, which would be much more effective than a server which run only one map. But I think this is handlable on recent and dedicated server. To go further, the loot table could be revisited and only certain kind of weapons could be found on different island or land. Namalsk could become a very atractive island due to the amount of army base we can find here, but lowered by the fact the weather is very bad, and the constant radiation on this island breaks all the digital devices we bring with us, like GPS or NVG... Taviana could be interesting for the amount of hospital, supermarkets and civilian looting. (Sorry for my bad english, i'm french !)

I agree with hayward, Before i saw his reply under yuor post, I also thought it would be allot of work to get all that stuff working again. I actually thought that "everybody starts clean" ment that you would just remove the vehicles and resetting the players. :P -
Will Sniper Rifles be nerfed in the standalone?

I have my personal preference for weapons choice. Sa-58V ACOG. (Rare) I simply love the way this sounds and when playing in a team the players know it's me shooting. It can cause anyone problems. Although it is loud I use that to my advantage while sending in the guys around the flank to take that pesky sniper out. M249. (Rare) Spray and prey. This gun messes up snipers and vehicles like there is no tomorrow. It can also take out whole groups of people without a reload from great distances. (My preferred choice in arms) Any Iron sight gun I prefer for killing zombies and going in close quarter combat against other players. Simply Zig-Zag and rush them forces snipers to break cover and run. DMR's (Rare) Are awesome but I personally don't use them. It's not that I cannot use one - far from it. It's the fact they cause tunnel vision and I find my self focusing on one target when there are many. Thus restricting my options. In DayZ I consider guns to be a bonus – that's because you don't need one to survive. It's all about using common sense taking calculated risks and dealing with any given situation with the tools you have. To a certain degree you only require the basic tools. Matches, Knife,Axe,Water Bottles are all things you need to survive. The rest of the game is all down to the gamers making choices in my opinion. Avoidance, Camping, Rushing, Flanking, Hiding are all tactics at your disposal. But nothing needs a “nerf”. It's not World of Warcraft! The only role you take on is surviving in a no holds bar situation. Do what ever it takes! Dead men don't talk! (Apparently they do!) -

How is the server architecture performing? I haven't said anything yet, because I haven't talked to our lead programmer as he was away today. Tomorrow he is back and I'll report then. But essentially, I've been told is "effectively complete". If this is the case, then it needs testing and much of my work needs to be modified to fit with it. But that would be very good news. Following up on the twitter comment about zombies attacking while running.. Just showed matt how this looks, it's actually working really well. Kind of crazy but in a good way, the zombies run at you attacking directly. They will be dangerous in large numbers. They are much more likely to hit you in standalone but the effect is less marked. I.e. they are like a person running after you and hitting you. Can you still exploit the zombie behavior (running up hills for example) I think that as a result of playing any game for a length of time, you figure out how to "game the system" a bit. My aim is to make zombies more of a fluid part of the game, more "authentic" in the sense of how they move and react. Along the way want to reduce exploits, but I am sure there will still be some. Rice? Cooking as a part of crafting? Can we prepare sushi? Cooking yes. Food can be prepared which is safer and more nutritious. So bandages evolved into IV Starter kits? Bandages (military), dressings (civilian), and the IV kits are broken down into several parts which you craft together. The starter kit + what you are inserting. E.g. painkiller drugs, saline, transfusion, etc. Nearly everyone now believes crafting will be the cornerstone of the game really Is the ability to poop still going to be in the standalone? It's not a priority but it's an open question. We want to try it and if it's not good we'll remove it Where do you place standalone compared to the mod both in terms of content and on the optimization/technical side? They are on different planet's. They are entirely different and almost impossible to compare Rockets posts on Liriks twitch stream: Are player animations improved? God the new player animations are SO much better than the mod's Are the radios in? Radio talking is working, which is REALLY cool. SS13 style radios and streaming radios in game from internet sites. What about vehicles? Vehicles are priority for alpha, we want to entirely redo vechiles, might leave some in but they'll be ripped out Any news on a release date? I would say it is very close. Ouch! That took me over 3 months to get just right, if you can get it all back in under a couple of weeks then my hat goes off to you. rMod might make some script impossible to use, which was a huge reason for me never considering rMod before. So what happened ? The decision to wipe the database and clear the scripts doesn't make sense to me, based on your reason above. If you had an issue with too many weapons in vehicles, then you could have just deleted the vehicles and started a fresh map keeping all the user details in-tact and the scripts too. You could even have enabled rMod as it's just a mod anyway, but like I said you might have to edit a few scripts to work specifically with it. I hope you didn't get this advice straight from Tim at DayzPriv , because I'm pissed at him if he caused all this, he should know better.. Anyway, that is shocking news and I hope you succeed in getting it all back up again.. NOTE: To the few people who emailed me directly on here complaining about stuff (only just saw your comments today), please note that I don't run the server any more. Your comments have been deleted and I'll not be replying, sorry... -

RMOD IS NOW REQUIRED TO PLAY ON OUR SERVER! Due to the server being riddled with almost ever gun in the game in all player owned vehicles, I have decided to erase the database and everything else with it. The server is now just plain Vanilla DayZ with rMod now enabled! I will be editing the map over time, adding in new buildings, bases etc over the next few days/weeks. The IP is staying the same, just the database and all things script-wise have been completely deleted! So I will be working on adding back in the AI script, auto-refuel, towing script, and possibly the halo jump script! is warz anygood? im going to try It? if it had vehicles I think it would like it, maybe if i support them they will create dlc with vehicles.. anyway Im going to try warz and see what I think, I gave dayz a chance... or at least I think i was playing dayz, or an arma 2 mod that is suppose to be dayz but im pretty sure they added things in, I don't really know what dayz is because I don't think it even exists, just a bunch of different games that people call dayz.. oh and then we have dayz origins... lol so which one is dayz? oh the one that doesn't let you self bloodbag, or take tires off of cars, or refuel by pulling up to a gas station, yah I'll pass. -
No it is not hacked or glitched. The name of vehicles usually changes depending on how far you are away from them. Sometimes, like in your case, it will just say "car". edit: :ph34r:
