    Experimental Branch: 0.45 Discussion

Not true at all. I have posted many many times about crashing issues I have, which others also have confirmed to have. I was told the issue was already fixed even though it still occurs. Rocket needs to leave the team much earlier and get a different project manager in.

It would not have been a fair comparison back while DayZ was just a mod. However, DayZ is now is well funded. The team had access to modify their way to a newish engine to tailor it to the needs of DayZ. Those needs should have included 30+ if not 60 fps.

I for one have seen little to no improvements in performance since many many patches ago. I actually have a constant crashing issues which ONLY occurs with DayZ. When I use 1gb memory usage in the video settings I get a crash to desktop within minutes. Once I lower the usage to 512 mb the issue does not occur. I have posted about this multiple times on the bug forums with no reply from the developers. The fact that this issue is still being reported and has been for many patches now and has not been recognized or fixed by the developers really makes me feel pessimistic about DayZ's future.

    Rolling Update Rev - 0.43.116251

The way the patch notes are presented is terrible. Each different version that gets released needs its own thread. It gets very confusing when all the previous patches are aggregated into one post. I feel that a lot of confusion and complaints come from it being EXTREMELY unclear what is actually going on with the patches. What I mean is when a new patch comes to experimental it should have its own thread, then the next patch its own thread. What seems to be happening is that the patch notes are being combined into one for the stable releases.

For some reason, the way the progress has gone so far through the mod and standalone I doubt to believe this.

I agree. The way they have the patch notes arranged is terrible.

we need to talk about the walkie talkies

Nothing is preventing you from playing a certain way, no reason to tell others how to play their games. If someone wants to be completely immersed in a video game, well good for you. Most people like to play video games with friends. No way in hell am I going to close teamspeak or allow a game prevent itself from opening just because I need the game balls deep in my ass to enjoy it. It's a video game, everyone needs to remember that. You should be complaining about the zombies if you want immersion since they are fake as all hell.

Are you saying that mods enable pirating? There are tons of pirated servers as of right now. Private hive is working, the developers just haven't gotten around to doing it.

It is just in for testing. I wouldn't expect it to be like this either.
  11. It is shit like this that makes me so leery about this game now. There was a time where I would tell everyone I knew to get DayZ, now I don't. Even though they did have that huge delay in development for a year, and I understand that they redid the whole thing, they really just dumped the whole project? What about all the ideas they had, all of the flowcharts, etc they had for developing their ideas? I assume that is part of what goes into the length between packages. Seeing how this last patch was so disappointing, how bad was the build back in December of 2012 if THIS patch was acceptable to be released. Realistically this game has been in development well before December of 2012, while they had to trash a ton of stuff they should have still known where they wanted to go with things and how to accomplish them. GIVE THEM TIME ITS AN ALPHA GO GET AN IQ TEST YOU HAVE NO IDEA HOW GAME DEVELOPMENT WORKS YOU KIDS ARE IGNORANT. Hype train has really derailed for me, I hope DayZ is as great as it can be.
  12. I hope that it becomes something other than .42 by the time wednesday rolls around.
  13. Shouldn't responding "its an alpha deal with it" be considered flaming and spamming?
  14. Yeah it is experimental but internal testing should have shown that this was an issue. Even though it is the experimental of an alpha game, should this have really passed internal testing?
  15. Trust me, with the last experimental patch they made the game unplayable. The lag/dysnc issues have been multiplied 10x. The reason the updates haven't been pushed to stable is because experimental right now is buggered.
