I can pretty much agree with you, but I wouldn't call Arma 3's Alpha to Release a that big change. Still had horrible performance issues (It still does), very few vehicles etc etc.

I can see why Epoch doesnt appeal and to be fair I really didn't like the sound of trading and currency what not when i first tried the game earlier this year as I'm a massive fan of post apocalyptic stuff and to me it wasn't how I envisioned spending my zombie survivial experience. However I would say the mod works very well in practice and gives a lot more focus and longevity over vanilla day z. The crafting side of it and modular base building has been done really well and can be quite a challenge to do. The currency based on precious metals also works very well too. It makes scavenging and looting much more interesting as you can sell almost anything (dependent upon the server), so no more just hitting the high value military barracks! As has already been said - it really does depend on the server you play on. Personally I dont agree with safe trader zones so our server doesnt have them. For us the trader zone is meant to be a hotspot of danger, yes you can buy and sell stuff, making a lot of money and getting your hands on some good stuff, but it's a place where you're at your most vulnerable and likely to be killed. Also we've adjust trader prices so anything that makes survival easier costs a lot more gold, things like night vision, safes, choppers, cars, high end weapons all cost a lot more gold which means a lot more scavenging and trading etc. So again it all lends it self rather well to a longer game and survival experience. It also means stakes are actually much higher than in vanilla too as now instead of losing all that decent kit you can carry on you or fit in a small tent, you stand to lose a lot of gold, be it in physical gold, high priced items, vehicles or bases, that represents a lot of time and effort! Again not all bases are indestructible, our certainly arent on our server, and they usually do require some form of maintenance, which is done by using mortar which by default is not something you can just buy but something you have to search for - the bigger your base, yes the more you can store but also the more maintenance you need. I guess it depends on what sort of base you want, you can build your own compound with time and patience , which is purpose built and difficult to infiltrate , sure. Or you can take the easy approach and just fortify a quiet little building out in the middle of nowhere and scrimp and save to get a safe (which you could lose at the trader by being sniped by a bandit!). There are many different ways to achieve the same thing really but all have their pros and cons. Those key features aside there are also some other brilliant additions such as the additional vehicle s(there were even more before the last patch but a whole pack had to be removed :( ) , the loot weight system (you may have more slots available potentially but you can physically only carry so much weight!), there much more loot available, the crafting (which was available before vanilla), more clothing options, better loot locations (you have to hunt around for loot!), tougher zombies and even the chance you may turn into a zombie (its pretty irritating actually but can be good PvP). The mod it's self is one of the best developed mods available. The dev team havent just given up after the first release and they are constantly improving it and taking on the feedback of the community. Its actually quite a well balanced mod and it's truly, in my opinion, a much more multi-play suited game . True it's not in the die hard zombie survival genre but it's a very well thought out mod and lends it's self well to MMO and long term sand-box gaming. You really should try it, there's a reason it's rapidly becoming the flavour of choice and I sincerely hope this mod is ported to stand alone!

Epoc, should I bother?

Houses and safes arent even the problem of Epoch imo. Extra vehicles that are ready to drive, Self Blood Bags and full blown military starting loadouts are the problems in Epoch. Some have more Vanilla aspects but Self Blood Bags are the main problem imo. No need to be cautious or careful and no value in your character because no matter you can easily heal yourself. -
Because it is nothing like that :) You stalk and watch players and decide if they are breaking your moral rules of the apocalypse. Someone who you see killing new spawns - Death penalty. The sniper hill shooters- Death penalty. People who promise to help others then lead an unsuspecting person to their death - Death penalty. Airfield snipers - Death penalty Bandit clothing - Watch and follow and see how they act. Chopper killers who shoot survivors with impunity from above - Death penalty Attempt to help people, while being as cautious as fuck, by supplying food, drink, morphine, ammo, guns if needed and even vehicles. Showing noobs the map and taking them on a stroll to places they haven't been. Overwatching new spawns without them knowing and keeping the bad guys at bay if possible. Ninja bloodbagging, this is a Steak and Potatoes expert level and hard to achieve but extremely satisfying, it's an end game of sorts. Following a group and seeing how they act and handing out punishment if necessary. No mindless KOS, even if shot at by someone because you both scared the sit out of each other it is still possible to have a parley with them sometimes. Showing others that kos can be stopped one player at a time and leading by example regardless of the outcome. The life of a hero is far more than camping out eating steaks and sloshing pepsis in the forest. :)

I dare to say that there should be some good scopes on bolt action hunting rifles such as the CZ...but not some "million dollar" scope for like a .50 or .406 military sniper rifle or expensive rifles at all. You must think like a Chernarussian in this case, would a person from there dress up his gun like you average american gun owner who has a M4 or simething with rails in his posession? They would go for the practical things that do the jobs for the least money. If Chernarus was a like a modern western industrial state filled with villas that go in the millions ( usd of course not russian rubles ) i would have nothing against finding some more valuable or even imported goods, rifles, vehicles or something in that direction.

DayZ Ambience: Shooting Stars, Fireflies and more.
enforcer1975 replied to TIC's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
I wonder how many million you need to actually have an effect since a candle is already a hundredfold brighter than one bug and it still isn't enough to see further than a couple of meters, now imagine jar filled with bugs with only the ones on the edge of the glass beeing usable since the others are hidden behind them. I'm sure it would make you a fine target like people running around with chem sticks ( without lighting up the area ). Mostly impractical imo. About auroras as a light source.....a lightning is much brighter although significantly shorter but Chernarus isn't far enough in the northern region anyway. I do like the ideas like weather and payload for vehicles. -

No, no, and no... you are going to want to check out exposedgaming/mustygaming's servers (their EU servers, more specifically). I am a Canadian who plays on their EU2 Epoch server, and I must say that the admins are excellent there; friendly, and will compensate you if your items are lost due to lag/glitches/etc. One time while I was playing on their Taviana server, I was being a moron and crashed our tank that cost 10 briefcases of gold. I went and explained my situation to one of the admins, and he gave me a brand new tank, along with the key. In the Epoch, you can create your own base, buy your own vehicles that you can lock, buy a safe that stores many, many items... etc. http://www.exposedgaming.com/dayz-servers/

Yeah I got my key. Not liking a lot of the new features though -They've decided to do a switch to minecraft graphics -Guns jam 70% of the time to deter PVP -Zombies hug you and once you're swarmed you can't move because of the hugs so you have to quit. -It's mission based now, no more open world concept. Can only travel on the roads. -Once an hour the Chernarus Volcano goes off and kills everything in order to solve end game problem. -No more airfields because there are no more aerial vehicles. (You can make paper airplanes with the new crafting skill. Requires lvl 36). -They removed hatchets because "they were op" -They have classes now (Lifeguard: +10 swimming to start, Pilot: no aerial vehicles so no stat boost, Ewok: -100 strength and requires bath every 5 minutes, and Rock: you just play as a rock and can't get killed by zombies. Can travel in someone's backpack.) -Turned the sky cyan because Rocket said "Looks cool." -If another player is near you it logs you out automatically (Rocket: "Just in case.") -Forgot to mention: They also adjusted the sound so the pitch of Inception's in-game voice is now normal.

Their is no good reason to ban someone for being on a rooftop. You are simply reacting to all the whining players that annoy your admins by bitching about dying and claim that whomever kills them hacks. I hope you take a good look at how you run the server and ask yourself if you are really going to ban a player just because he has played the game so freaking long that he flies onto roof tops and has hundreds of tents and stashes in various servers. I feel like I wasted all that time getting to that level of leetness only to be told hey you cant utilize any of the equipment you obtained nor can you use the vehicles for their intended purpose.
-
I was thinking the same thing although not an actual cruise control system. Yes, but both are pretty limited tbh. I was thinking, for example, perhaps pressing the throttle (up arrow) gives you full speed, like now. However, while keeping the throttle depressed, you could easily adjust it with +/- to your preferred cruising speed, either a slider or one of a few options. Releasing the throttle would drop the gas and also drop the setting (next time you press throttle, you'd be back to full speed). This would let people use the cars like now but also give the option of slowing down a bit, without getting stuck in a slow setting if they need a fast getaway. Gears, though, are something I consider a necessity... it only adds to the gameplay and I doubt it would be difficult to implement if they are redoing vehicles from scratch.

[SA] Getting rid of vehicle indicators
enforcer1975 replied to SFRGaming's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Most players can't even drive a car safely over the roads of Chernarus or whatever map they are playing on...you want to give them even more work to do?? I'd love to have an extra action in order to start a vehicles instead of just pressing a button/flipping a stick etc. I saw this in one of those ww2 missions i played with some people the other day. -
Hey guys, You might think that this post is like many others, advertising a server blablabla. Well it is kind of, I am not going to lie to you. I am a hardcore Dayz player. I played variety of mods with my clan and since two months we have been looking for a good server to play Epoch on. After testing and testing we were always leaving dissapointed from servers because of the community, admins not giving a crack about you or racism. Two weeks ago we found a server and decided to check it out. It has 400+ vehicles, safe traders, side missions and all that blabla like every other server. What impressed me the most is the admins and the community. The time admins and moderators spend with each individual in order to give you the best experience while on the server is incredible. The mature people make the atmosphere really enjoyable. The only problem is that the server tops 22-23 players out of 50 and most of the time during the day the number is around 9-10. I want to help the server grow as much as I can with advertisement , because I know that if you try playing on it, you wont lose your time for nothing and you will have a great experience. There is a Teamspeak that you can join and have a chat with other players or clans, If you are interested feel free to give it a shot: IP - 176.9.98.138:2352 Server name: Dayz Epoch #1 P.S Sorry for my bad English and punctuation.

Hello, everyone! I think I'll make this a thread for me to share my personal experiences with the people that desire death and chaos over life and peace, in these dark times. I also would like you all to remember that I have only been in DayZ and entire day (today) since my break from the game a long, long time ago. I'll begin with two stories! I loaded up an overwatch server to see what the difference was between it and vanilla, surprised to find that the military loot was much more broad in spectrum and convenient to locate. My friend and I hopped into a UAZ that was near the coast, just left in the middle of nowhere and set off to see the sights again. Finding our way to Devil's Castle, we ran across a jeep that was driving in the opposite direction. Quickly, we turned off the road and got out - weapons ready for a conflict if there was to be one; but not before shouting the classic 'Freindly!' call-sign, which we also got one in return. There were three men in total within the jeep, though they didn't seem all that friendly to us. Only one had the good grace to leave his vehicle to greet us, but they soon turned away and drove off about 200 meters away - leaving us with the impression that they didn't much care for us. Getting back into our UAZ and continuing on our way, I peeked out the back windshield and spotted a secondary cloud of dust, indicating that they were following us. Urging my friend to keep moving forwards and into the next treeline, we rushed back out and got behind some thick trees for cover. Once they were within range, I called out again, questioning why they were following us - only to hear their faint voices as they too exited their vehicles a mere 150 meters away. "Let's kill them." Oh, they were in for it now. I glanced at my partner, who lined up his sniper and took the first shot in retaliation, nailing the jeep with a loud clank. The three immediately went to take cover, but one sadly couldn't make it as I rinsed him thoroughly with a cleansing stream of hot lead. Now see, the thing about 14 year old bandits is that they typically don't think their cover through, nor about who they're messing with. It didn't take the sharpest eye to notice that they parked on an incline, the jeep having rather high suspension and in turn leaving them (as they've now gone prone behind it) rather open. With another few seconds of burst fire on their position, the three died - not a single shot having been fired in return. A fitting massacre to the silly, blood-thirsty teens. As for my second story... My partner and I parted ways soon after the conflict, mostly due to his need to shoot people on sight. I found another server, one that was still vanilla DayZ but with more buildings and such scattered throughout Chernarus. I spawned just east of Elektro, leading me to think that I may as well just go see what was going on in there. With the successive firing of sniper rifles and what sounded like an AK, I discretely made my way ip the southern side of Sniper Hill, spotting a couple of bandits hiding behind trees near each other. Seeing as I was completely unarmed, I decided to try and sneak up on them - hoping to snatch a gun from their bags and deal with them smartly. After about five minutes of careful crouching and rolling about, I ended up directly behind them - the two completely unaware of my presence. Now, this is where it got a bit interesting. As soon as I opened the bag of the nearest bandit, I noted that it made an odd noise. And that the UI for it was completely different to what I was used to seeing. This server was apparently very unique. So unique in fact that the two bandits were now completely alerted to my presence, due to the fact that it had just sounded as though I'd unzipped and flopped my junk out for the world to see - right beside their ears. They turned silently, looking at the unarmed survivor as he simply laid prone in the grass behind them - speechless. I took the initiative. "Well hello there!" Suffice it to say, they were amazed by the fact that I'd managed to sneak up on the two of them and get into their backpacks (which were both empty), offering me a sidearm and a hatchet to solve my peaceful nature. Accepting them with delight, I asked them what they were up to ( at this stage also noticing that the initial bandit turbans they were sporting had since disappeared within the draw distance, replaced with a camo outfit and a normal survivor's skin), trying to play off the fact that I had almost killed them if the circumstances were right. Seeing as they didn't kill me, I accepted their offer to hang out with them - another of their friends rocking up a few moments later with a Dragunov rifle, which I rather liked the look of. Nevertheless, these people weren't on my kill list any longer - as they certainly spared me. We headed off, down back to the shoreline where I had previously spotted a car in need of repairs. Foregoing them, we continued past and towards the unique compounds scattered throughout the server; a castle much like Devil's Castle, only the insides were all wrong - a hospital, some barracks and a factory replacing what would have been towers. We continued scavenging from these, slowly getting more and more geared up as we went until we finally said our goodbyes - my gear now primed for action. From having absolutely nothing, I came across a DMR, M14 AIM, Ghilli suit, a tonne of supplies and an interesting experience with what people usually think are the scum of the island. What about you guys? Had any similar experiences? Or perhaps some questions? I'm open to any comments! Also, before you ask; I am trying to run as a hero at the moment, meaning that I won't be shooting anyone that doesn't have a turban unless fired upon first. Any other heroes out there? TLDR; I killed some noobs, got geared up travelling with some bandits even though I'm doing a hero run.

Greetings Survivors, Heroes and fellow Bandits, I am Lemondog, and I have been playing DayZ since June of 2012. I have seen and done it all, starting as a lowly good-guy bambi, to becoming one of the most ruthless and cold-blooded bandits I think DayZ would ever see. This is my story about DayZ, how I changed as a player and some of the greatest moments I have ever had. **1) My First Spawn** My first ever spawn. I spawned in Seattle 1337 with two of my friends North of Cherno. Because I was clueless, I was told to go prone in a brush and wait for them. Upon meeting up, I was escorted to Stary Sobor, possibly the scariest place on the map. Upon arriving at Stary, my friends noticed peripheral dots, signalling zombies at the tents. Upon seeing this, we came to the only logical solution: I was going to run out there and juke this guy. So here we have me, who's been playing forest simulator 2012 for 25 minutes, now running into the middle of the tents, screaming in Direct Chat, "HI HOWS IT GOING! THIS GAME IS AWESOME!" The player in the vicinity comes out of the tent and just stares at me. I think he thought I was high as a kite because here I am running around trying to make small talk. The meanwhile, my friends have moved around to the East of the tents, crosshair on his head. As he lifts his gun to shoot me, I beg and plead and then, silence. He drops to the ground a lifeless corpse. I get my first gun. Yay. We continue on to the NWAF, were I spot someone crawling to the barracks. I nervously aim my gun at his head and shoot probably 15 rounds into him. Yeah, he's dead. YAY! First kill! After this, we head back to Stary, only to run into a camp. As we go to loot it, we get wrecked by a Machine Gun. Dead. RIP. Never forget Seattle 1337 North of Stary. **2)The Rise of a Hero and Betrayal** I played DayZ believing everyone was deep down innocent until proven guilty. I made it my mission to save innocent new players from the assholes known as bandits. As I continued to do this, a very popular server, the Billy Mays Server, came to existence. Alongside my friends, we inhabited the server as regulars and were always helping people, until one day, it all changed. As usual, someone was hurt and needed blood. Nothing new I figured, everyone knew us on the server, he probably just got hit by a zombie since he seemed new. As we approached, I noticed something didn't feel right. He was taking a long time to reply to questions. Also, he was down in a very open area, making me vulnerable to any sniper shots. Most players found cover, but not him, not good old Chaos. So I approach Chaos, heal him up and take my payment (Mountain Dew.) As I'm on my way out, all I hear is the sound of a DMZ. Next thing I see is a screen. YOU ARE DEAD. I wasn't the only one. My partner was hunted down as well, our car stolen. The last thing I remember hearing is Chaos laughing hysterically, whispering "No tears." As I re spawned in Elektro, I only had one goal on my mind: Revenge and absolute destruction on Chaos' soul and his groups. **3) A Team is Assembled.** After death and re spawning, a plan was hatched. I was to infiltrate their group of friends, locate their camp, and earn their trust. Alongside me were 3 friends I've known for a while. We had Nick, someone I've known since 2004 and still one of my good friends to this day from elementary school. We had Russ, a friend of Nick's from high school, who we had been playing games with since 2010. And then, Randy Motherfucking Shuggs. The final member to ever be inducted into our group of friends. I found him on mIRC for a counter-Strike 1.6 scrim back in 2009 and he stuck around ever since. Nick's specialty was sniping. He rarely ever missed shots, and if his gun was shot, you would die. Russ, the scout. His experience in Cub Scouts as a child clearly payed off here. His ability to range accurately without any rangefinder or binoculars was uncanny. And Randy. The close quarter combat specialist. More than once he was known to run into Stary alone guns a blazing, kill 5 people and survive. This man was a crazy moron. We love him. And then there's me. The special agent. On top of my superb rifling ability, I could charm you faster than a whore on mainstreet. **4) Plan Pineapple** Plan pineapple was a go. As I ran back to my now lifeless body, I ran into Chaos. As he aimed his gun at me to kill me once again, I simply uttered 4 words..."Let me Join You." He looked back at me, smirking and asked quietly, "What makes you think we trust you?" I had him. Two things sell on people, fear and greed. "I'm the most trusted player in the server, you can follow me to my missions and cap kids. Together, we can make a fortune." He lowered his gun, and I let out a sigh of relief. Him and his group agreed to let me join, but under the condition I don't carry a gun as I could backstab them. I was handed an Axe and told to kill any zombies. What had become of me? The most trusted player on the server reduced to a mere zed killer for a group of people I resented. I knew what had to be done. I did as they said for roughly an hour while the group was setting up the scene. Berezino was the place. Randy was the bait, sitting in the supermarket alone with his Alice pack and a CZ inside. Nick was camped out, roughly 500 feet away in the trees, aiming his trusty dusty DMZ at the supermarket. With a ghillie suit, he could not be seen from more than 10 feet away. Russ sat on top of the hospital, serving as the eyes. I credit him to this day, that job left him so vulnerable and more than once they had to kill someone shooting at it him while we approached. After an hour of being their personal zombie shield, Chaos and his friends invited me to join their Skype Call. Lucky me, I thought. My group uses ventrilo, so I went for it. So here I sat, a double agent in action, in both my ventrilo and a skype call at the same time. They gave me a weapon, an AK74, and said welcome. They provided me with gear at their camp which was north of the NWAF. I told them I recieved a message that I'm needed in Berezino and the reward were 2 Coyote packs and a CZ. Chaos looked at me, probably wondering if this was real or not, but eventually I heard the words I wanted too. "We'll take the UAZ." **5) Executing the Plan** We drove to Berezino in what seemed like a second. As we approached, Chaos mentioned in Skype our plan, which I cryptically relayed to my teammates in Ventrilo. I would repeat things such as, "So you said we are going to enter from the north, right?" in both calls to try and not draw any suspicion. We left the UAZ roughly 800 metres from Nick, which scared me a bit, but luckily he wasn't seen. We approached a faint help from Randy, doing his best 5 year old impression. "Can someone help me, I'm friendly!" Chaos snickered in skype as we approached. After killing the aggro'd zombies, we circled poor Randy. "Hey there man, I'll blood bag you and we'll be on our way!" As I bloodbagged him, Randy got silent. He stood up after and said nothing. Chaos had had enough and aimed his gun at his head. "Say your last words you little bitch." Randy looked at him, barrel to the face and said the magic words. "PINEAPPLE." The second we heard that, it was on. Nick took out Chaos with one shot, I sprayed into his teammates and Randy took out the third. After the bloodbath, we quickly looted their bodies and buried them. As I sat in the skype call, basking in my glory, all I heard from Chaos was a whimper, "but why Lemon? Why?" Before I ended the call, I simple chuckled and said our now famous catchphrase, "No tears, only dreams now." We ran quickly to the UAZ, looted their camp and got out. All the while, news broke to the server of what I had done. I simply embraced it. Anyone asking for help was now shot on sight. More than once I earned a player's trust only to backstab them. This was the life I needed. WHAT A RUSH. **6) Laying Low, Base Established** We decided that we needed a base. We officially named ourselves the TNP Banditos. It was time to lay low. Everyone knew us by our gear and our style. We had to lay low, because we were a server-wide hated group. Someone went as far as to put 2 UAZ's and a Heli as a reward for killing and locating our camp. Luckily, with no nameplates, it helped but everyone knew my player model. I wasn't changing it. I wanted them to come at me and get some. We quickly looted 4 tents, ran to our now top secret base, established it. The base was fairly big. Probably 20x20 metres in terms of size. I cleverly placed the tents so they could only be accessed one way, which took forever to figure out. We hid the UAZ as well in about 6 trees. There was only one way to get it out, which took us about 4 hours of practise. Now that the base was established, we were ecstatic. We had gear for the rest of eternity and no one knew where we were. Until Janaury 28th, 2013. When some kid named Alex spotted me heading towards my camp. He promptly followed me until I was about 500 metres away from it. I finally saw him crawling behind me in trees and killed him. All I saw next was on the map, him place a marker on me, simply typing "TNP BASE." A tiny red message popped up in the corner, server restart in 15 minutes. We had to survive for 15 minutes. We didn't have a choice. **7) The Battle of Krasnotav** We first heard it from the north. We were in Krasnotav, quickly looting some food / drink and heading back to the camp when we heard it roar. A convoy. 2 Cars and a UAZ. We had about 20 seconds before they got to us. I did the only logical thing anyone would do, I went prone in the middle of the fucking road. So here I see them driving right at my head as I'm prone. As they near me, all hell broke lose. Randy and Russ are hammering M249's into their vehicles, Nick is sniping relentlessly and I'm spraying the tires. The UAZ stopped on top of me. I literallly was pinned under a fucking UAZ in the middle of a 4 on 15. Randy and Russ quickly blew up the cars and Nick took out the UAZ players. We got out of there so fast I couldn't tell you. As we got to the camp, we heard it. A heli. It started firing at us and then I saw something I swear I'll never see again in this game. Randy runs at this chopper which is landing, and sprays the m249, capping 4 people in about 2.5 seconds. I did a double take but had no time. Nick and Russ were stashing as much stuff as they could onto the chopper. I helped as well. After piling on everything valuable, we took one last look at our camp. Our home for 4 months, destroyed. We did the only thing we could. Set fire to it. As we lifted off, Nick the pilot, we looked back, and prepared for the next chapter of our adventure together as the TNP Banditos. (At this point the server restarted we had landed somewhere random.) **8) Gorka (Fuck this place)** We landed in Gorka, we needed fuel badly. We landed and Russ started filling up while me and Randy looted. Then we heard it. Another chopper. And a car on the road. We were fucked like no other. Thinking quickly, me and Randy both threw smoke grenades and ran. As we found cover, the car stopped at the gas station and a player, alone, got out to loot. Yeah, dumbass. He was dead. The heli started firing. Nick yelled at me in vent, "Get them distracted I fucking got this." I took a deep breath and looked at my 120 day long character. This was it. I ran like a mad man across the road as it fired away at me. Then all I hear behind me is shots. Nick killed the passenger. The chopper, and for some reason, maybe fuel, landed. He got out and surrendered. As he surrendered, all we did was laugh. I axed the poor bastard in the back. As we took stock of what the fuck just happened, we had 2 heli's, a car and so much gear you wouldn't believe. Nick piloted one chopper, Russ the other, I drove with Randy. Nick was hovering in his chopper roughly 25 metres above us when no one knows what happened, whether he fucked up or the game derped. As I watch him hover while he sets a marker, he starts to descend. We scream at him but it's too late. He crashes into the helicopter Russ was in, creating an explosion so big I was in awe. The explosion wrecked our car, killing Randy on impact. I survived, with 500 blood. As I quickly tried to loot everything I could to run, a player came by. And told me to freeze. As he aimed his sights on me and told me to help him and he'll let me go, I sat there, dejected. Instead of letting this kid have the satisfaction of bossing me around, I did the only thing I could: I dropped a frag grenade at my feet. This kid looked at me and ran away as fast as he could. Me, I just stood there. The seconds seemed like years, My character had started as a simple revenge character against Chaos, and had now become the most vilified and hated person on the server. I had raided camps, ruined lives, destroyed villages, and now this was it for me. As the grenade bounced one final time and was about to detonate, a familiar voice entered my head. "No Tears, only dreams now."

Why post something not-vanilla if they ask for vanilla? That always bothers me. "Hey, it's not what you're looking for but..." That's basically what's going on. Anyway, my favorite is US 3480 but the ping may be questionable considering you're far from their server which is in the Northeast US. It's generally populated, except when it gets dark on the server, and you may have 10 people on. It's DayZ. No extra vehicles or anything. Use the DayZ Commander filter and maybe you can find a vanilla server closer to you with a decent population. They exist, I don't know why people pretend they're hard to find.
