when i played on your server (june, 21. 2013 from about 4:00 pm to 11:15 pm) , together with 2 friends, we found the admin base.... at that time, [EO] Geohound and [EO] Woody were inside and the only [EO] members online. we killed Geohound and tried for about 20 mins to get Woody out of cover.... i went on a sniping position and one of my friends drove a uaz inside, woody appeared and i shot him. about 1 min later we got banned... i was the last one and wrote to the admin and he said sth about: " stop lieing to me, i can see your logs and that you use teleport and esn (or sth like that)" We did never use hacks in dayz. So all in all im pissed of all these servers, dominated by admins, whoose vehicles and gear you musnt steal and whoom u musnt kill. all in all.... adminpower abuse maybe there will be a response to my message, i d like to hear sth from other admins of this clan

The first things medical professionals will tell you if you catch a bacterial or viral infection is - Rest, keep warm and drink plenty of fluids. With this in mind and using features and mechanics that already exist in the mod here is a way to allow players to manage the infection and prolong life. Symptoms of the infection should include... Blood loss Impaired vision Drop in core body temperature Bodily tremors Slowed movement Aches and pains Painkillers - to reduce aches and pains allowing for more normal movement Antibiotics - not just a single pill but a pill for say, every hour of game play. Packs should contain at least 3 pills. Blood transfusion - obviously replenishes any lost blood Warmth - Core body temperature must be maintained by using fires, heatpacks or by sheltering in buildings and vehicles and each has a different level of effectiveness. Hydration - Infection causes rapid dehydration so players must drink more often, boiled water should be the most effective when infected. Rest - Player should rest at a tent at regular intervals to give the body time to focus it's resources on fighting the infection. With the right balance of these actions player health, stamina and strength could be maintained for a good while, any deficit though would accelerate the effects of infection bringing death more rapidly.

I'd pretty much echo what these guys are saying. In my many hundreds of hours playing DayZ I think I've only ever fixed up a vehicle at it's actual spawn point once or twice, TBH I've never even bothered using the DayZDB to learn the spawn points or bothered looking for them. If I decide I need/want a vehicle I just stock up on food and water and start hunting for camps. I find it more fun too with the added bonus that you'll usually find some tents on your travels with some sweet gear and you can't beat the rush of driving off in someone elses car. I pretty much usually do what Steak suggested. Head into the woods/hills west of Zelengorsk and zig-zag your way north trying to cover as much ground as you can. You're pretty much guranteed to find something, it honestly works every time on almost every server. If by any chance you don't have any luck then head up to Pobeda Dam and the surrounding area. Looking up there can take a lot longer because there's more ground to cover and lot's of places to hide camps etc but there's ALWAYS a few camps and usually a vehicle or 2. If you play on the same server frequently (which you should) start noting down coords of tents you find and so on. By sticking to the same server (if you play a lot) you can start to build up a really good picture of player habits and clan activity meaning that even as a lone wolf you can even the odds by using their camps to stock up when moving around. The key is just to take one or 2 things from each tent and only when you need it, that way they don't get suspicious and you can return there at a later date to check for new vehicles etc. Once you've got the locations of a few camps dotted around the map noted down you won't even need your own, you can be free as a bird and stop off at their tents whenever you need something.

That has to be the most action I have ever seen on the coast in a long time. So many vehicles involved.

Music, weather, and zombie farming for Standalone
SoulHunter (DayZ) replied to Farkinob's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Ya know that the plane, the pics of which you gave, was just fine after the issue just like before that happened..? I'm kinda sure that the same thing would occur with a "gunship/chopper" lol.. =) But the "wind factor" I think would be more dangerous for such vehicles.. If there is a storm out there, you would then not really want to get into it with a flying vehicle lol -

Looking For A Server/Clan My GF and I Can Play On Together
survivalgaming (DayZ) replied to K33K3RZ's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
You two are welcome to join my server, though it is a different version of DayZ called Epoch, which you can download through DayZ Commander. Epoch itself is a very interesting twist on DayZ, having a money system, base building, huge selection of vehicles to drive/pilot, ability to lock the doors of your purchased (using in game money) vehicles, different types of player skins, crafting, dynamic debri piles with loot that you can remove for more loot, and more. Everyone on the server is very friendly, helping each other, rather than trying to shoot each other in the back. We have a community camp where we stage out of, and have shared resources. There is no pvp, and no stealing, so if you have real life obligations to attend to for a few days your stuff will still be right where you left it, making the game not feel like so much of a chore. But don't think that just because there is no pvp it is easy. We have AI bandits which dynamically spawn based on player location, with places of interest having higher numbers of bandits who are more than happy to kill you if you aren't careful. Loot also only spawns once every 30 minutes, rather than every 10 minutes. We run 24/7 day currently because the AI bandits turn blind during at night, and we like the challenge. It is a whitelist only server, filled with people who go through a vetting process. -

Balota Buddies Whitelisted! AU/US(Public)/EU Servers Chernarus/Namalsk/Origins, Active Admins/No Abuse/JSRS/Custom AntiHack
Inception. replied to Kebab Remover's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
As bigdogsco said, our US server, US46, has now gone public! You now no longer need to get yourself whitelisted in order to play. The features [thanks Kebab for putting them together, below], for you new players who were unaware, include: Custom Scripts: Balota Buddies run a series of custom scripts on our servers to enhance immersion and quality of gameplay. Some of them are" Steal Skin: Damn, that guy had a ghillie, guess I better just TAKE IT FROM HIS COLD DEAD HANDS! Vehicle Scavenge: Steal full repaired parts off other vehicles and add them to yours? I never implied that you can spawn vehicles and weapons while the server is up, the dayz.st website clearly states that the server has to be private and has to be restarted for changes to take effect.

Looking for a good server to play on (PVP Free maybe?)
boxman80 replied to brandokid25's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
You could check out our Epoch server mate. Its not PvP free but its still building up population form our switch to Epoch and relatively quiet enough to be left alone. Epoch also offers much more than regular Day Z such as more crafting, Base building, personal safes (that are indestructible), the ability own vehicles, tones more vehicles and weapons, more loot, better zombies, trading, currencies and trader cities. Check us out , details in my signature -
All camps will eventually be found. In the meantime the stuff you store in tents is only temporary. Personally I try to look at where the hotspots of the map are and look at the likely routes and thoroughfares of those areas are. I dont include the obvious areas such a s far northern and western areas of the map because new chopper owners regularly patrol those areas looking for camps and vehicles, so avoid those. I often find the least likely places are often the best.

Lots of problems with scripts, the 'hot fixes' aren't so much of a 'fix' for us :P Working & Added: Full Moon Nights Airlift & Tow Sarge AI Blood Transfusion yourself Excelsior Bridge House Lighting Street Lights Remove Parts From Vehicles Working tower lights Increased zed count Increased loot chances Removed: Kamenka checkpoint Klen Base NovyLug Base Lopatino Base Hidded repair station at end of NW Airstrip Increased Helicopter crash spawns Increased Infected camp spawns Color Filters/Corrections

Do you play on a private hive? Most of the guys on my hive (hi steak!) post videos on YouTube. As well as being quite entertaining, I get quite a good idea of what vehicles have been recently destroyed and what spawns I should be checking. I don't roll with a bag full of spares simply cos they take up so much room. When I find a vehicle I'll just head to the nearest cluster of industrial and grab what I need.
-
You can't teleport on DayZst servers as far as i know, you have to re-start the server to spawn a vehicle in or repair one and the player has to log out before any gear can be added. The player map is also highly inaccurate, you can only get an approximate area and it's terrible if they are moving quite fast. Most of what he said from my experience is correct. It's very difficult to do any of the stuff the OP mentioned on the fly. Also WTF would an admin alt-f4? he can just spawn some new gear in when he dies. Also most admins just have vehicles they keep on the go in game no need to spawn them in. Lets be honest if an admin abuses his powers like that then his server count is going to be really low, admins have these powers to protect the server. I for example go around manually checking camps and bases to see what sort of loot players have as this is usually a good way of catching people spawning stuff in. Most days when I'm on my own server the only thing I log into is Dart so I can kcik/ban people or do admin chat. I go around looking for my stuff/lott etc. cos well that;s the game. If someone has reported something fishy we go into proper admin mode and might use the map to observe/stalk people.

Trading, Base building, Activity, Factions! - BSB Epoch!
boxman80 replied to boxman80's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
Official update coming soon that adds LOADS more into the game, including lots of custom realistic vehicles as shown in videos below mod by by vilas -
Foolish notions, read more threads...the curret state of DayZ is poor. Patch shellshock and the current patch zombies are bugged as hell. The ever hard working devs are changing the zombies to behave properlly, if you think the current hot fix to was to nurf zombies or make it easier for you, you are mistaken. Quote Razor, "7.2 (the hotfix for the hotfix) should have zeds hitting like tanks and be able to pummel the player while he/she is moving." Can't wait for this gem... And if you can't find vehicles i would suggest playing a well maintained vanillia server (hive) or + cars if you're into that.

I wish someone would redesign the tent graphic/skin so that 50% of the camo pattern was simply transparent. Then maybe there wouldn't be a need to clip tents into objects! The graphics for the new stashes could have been made a lot harder to find too, but instead they're really quite easy to spot. I took a run down the west of the map this morning looking to pitch a tent and, without even really looking, I found 4 separate camps because the tents and vehicles stood out so much. The server only has a total of 12 active players! I can't imagine why people would bother making camps on a full server with 200 regular players. Finding and losing loot needs to be in balance; if spawned loot is hard to find (as it is now) then it also needs to be difficult to lose your loot. If it's easier to find and raid camps than to scavenge, then not enough people will bother to scavenge!
-
It all depends on the server. Some servers have a huge amount of vehicles and other features that will make you lag. Personal experience.
-
I would agree with others that searching for and stumbling upon road ready vehicles is probably your most time effective option. Head up north into the hills with plenty of food and water and try your luck. I only bother repairing vehicles when they're hidden near an industrial area with practically no chance of getting nicked or when I have my 4 man crew on to speed up the process. In your quest, whatever method you choose, always try to carry around at least two tires in your rucksack. Not only will you need them to repair some of the misc. broken down vehicles you'll find, but smart survivors will often take a tire off their precious ride before logging off. Best of luck!

This is a terrible idea. "Have it set in middle America...more variety of weapons and vehicles." First of all, there is already too many games set in America. Over used country. Second of all, do I smell I hint of 'I want the AS50 and M107 back!'? Leave DayZ where it is.
-
I hope they find a solution for all this vehicle hoarding :-/ Bothers me since I started this game. Clans having a stockpile of vehicles parked in the debug and not a single vehicle on the map. There were servers where I could never find a vehicle-wreck and never saw a driving vehicle either. Its pretty difficult to prevent that, but it shouldnt be possible to park vehicles outside the normal map forever. If the vehicles would be parked inside the map at least there could be more fluctuation. I personally dont have time to store my vehicle somewhere at the end of the rainbow, but there are enough people that seam to have.

[SA/Mod] - Percentage Chance based Actions
itsDIETZ replied to Draco122's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
I made a topic about the CPR, I'm glad someone else had the idea as well. Feel free to share your ideas, many people have contributed. On the other topics, I imagine they would include several other firestarting methods in standalone. Surely, since this is a survival game. I suggested snares and other traps for hunting game as well. I never liked the vehicle mechanics in ARMA II, they were way to glitchy. But I like your idea. Hopefully, They will have vehicles completely redone in SA. http://dayzmod.com/forum/index.php?/topic/140239-player-revive-idea-for-standalone/page__hl__revive -
Ok, so i played through 1.7.7.1, and im glad of the changes. Zombies are easy to lose, but the ever present death sentence of infection balances that. Loot is at a decent place, you can get what you need and that's about it. I would like to see the medical/hospital spawns pumped up a little since everyone needs a morphine or two. But overall i like this waaaaay better than 1.7.7. This said, I still miss dayz from before this patch. Where the zombies a joke? Yes. Was pvp, spawn-camping, and loot present everywhere? Yes. But i never really considered this an issue since my goal in the game as a hero was mainly to fix vehicles and give rides. With this current setup, a lone wolf simply cannot get a vehicle up and running. You might find 1 wheel in 3 towns and cars spawn in needing 3 or more. There was always a huge thrill to gun a pickup or van through cherno or electro to see if you could live through it.... Do I understand the thoughts behind the patches? Yes, this is dayz, a zombie survival game which makes the changes to the zombies perfectly valid. But the loot (especially for vehicles) makes me sad that i must run everywhere from here on out. Just my two cents, and I appreciate all the effort put into this so far.

lol I just remember I saw that ATV when I was healing you the other night. It was probably broken anyways, but no biggie. But finding vehicles will just take time and experience. They DayZ DB map isn't exactly accurate with vehicle spawns, so you need to look around the area, up to 100m or so. For instance, the bike spawn on Cap Golova is right next to the lighthouse, yet the db map pictures it about 50m North of the lighthouse, and the boat is pictures on land. Just stick with it and you'll find one eventually. Best of luck!
