No tents or whatever place where you can keep your stuff except some vehicles but you shouldn't be able to pack it that muchs and very restrict inventory space would be the best choice. Have fun carrying that wheel when you can't carry almost anything else and when you die you really need to re-arm and not go to your tent.

Would love to see a Single Player SA. However I would like to see a little bit more story in SP than in MP. Also something like a boot camp series of missions like in Arma 2. Set just before the outbreak you play the role of different civilians doing 'normal' things. IE A hiker hiking in the woods learning how to set up a camp, collect firewood, and cook. Playing as a hunter's child who's father teaches you how to track, kill, and gut animals. So on and so fourth (learning how to repair and drive vehicles as a mechanic, medical training while a nurse, flight training from either military/coastguard or private airline, gun training while a soldier, ect) but all training ends with the player getting overrun and killed by zombies somehow. Of course there will be a few training 'missions' that take place after Z Day for when other things are added in (how to build bases, 'mad max' cars, ect)

I have to agree with Frankie...I know I am repeating myself but I am no fan of the open alpha idea I would prefer to see Chernarus+ finished first as well as all basic game mechanics ( which does not include basebuilding and vehicles) before going into an open beta. For the alpha I would be cool with a larger scaled closed alpha testing including straming and regular updates and screenshots. just my two cents -

Hello Community, I used to run a Lingor Server about a year ago and since then just played DayZ casually. I now have a new server host and would like to share our vision in hopes to maybe sway some of you to help join our server. After playing many servers, and many features, the one common problem usually ended up being zombie/loot issues, or just general performance issues. I realize performance is mainly on how many players/uptime etc. I also know that vehicles are usually a big point in a successful server, more or less of them is still preference for most. I am saddened to see so many people resorting to all out 500+ vehicle servers with custom loot etc. This is not the DayZ I fell in love with, and I want to bring back those feelings. My vision is simple, to make a server DayZ Vanilla, but with some added sprinkles. Making vehicles accessible but still remaining a challenge to fix them, making sure loot is actually working and is responsive, enabling a side chat for people to communicate for a more social experience (voice chat won't be tolerated over side however). I also would love peoples feedback on what they enjoy and don't enjoy and why? I want my server to be molded with peoples best interests considered. I want not only myself and my friends to enjoy the experience, but everyone. Please come and give our server a try and possibly some feedback. Keep in mind this is an always daytime server, and very new. It will take time to grow an awesome player base but I'm confident it will happen. Thanks everyone. -

DayZ is definitely what you make of it. I have personally played mostly PVE solo survival horror style. I avoided all contact with other players, at all costs. Last summer I had a 28 day character (no pun), with 1,000+ dead zombies killed. I had camps and built vehicles on multiple servers, all maintained by myself. Only when I began to get cabin fever, and tried to help a random player did I get killed. This game has a learning curve, but once you get comfortable gearing up, it requires some imagination to sustain replay value. -

Hello, All! Like most DayZ zealots, I use DayZ Commander to get into the game and sort the many servers I play in. One day I stumbled onto PAZSAS, and really, I haven't looked back... To me, PAZSAS serves as the pinnacle of servers, balancing everything you want from the game; Veteran difficulty (because no one should magically see bright green writing telling you who that is lying prone on a rooftop 700m away), plentiful buildings and barracks (loot!), a fair number of vehicles (Ram the Zs! Heli Evac!), a good spread of mods (Self-Bloodbag, anyone?), good connection with little-to-no lag (yellow chain? red chain? Never heard of it) a good core of reliable, fair and knowledgeable admins (no Freaks of Nature running around in God Mode and TPing to people they don't like for epic executions or unjust retaliation because you disagree on who is the best rugby team), and- most importantly- a great collection of players. Granted not everyone will welcome you with open arms, it IS a PvP server after all, but is is reassuring to know that not everyone you meet is immediately lining up their cross-hairs with the base of your skull. PAZSAS is newbie and Bambi-friendly. I can't promise no one will mock you, but I can assure you that you will receive assistance and a genuine opportunity to thrive on your own. The way we see it, the better other people play, the more we will enjoy the game. Today, it's the only server on my DayZ Commander list. When you find the best, why bother with the rest? I think Frankie needs to take his rose-tinted specs off. People actually robbing others "properly" by holding them up, making them drop their gear and so on has always been a very rare thing in DayZ even way back at the start. I know because I used to try it and 99% of the time people would just log out to save their precious gear. To do it successfully you had to be extremely lucky and find someone willing to play along. There were a few cool hostage and robbery vids around in the early days but many of those were staged. In the SA measures will be put in place to stop combat logging etc and lots of the other small changes already made to the game will go some way towards reducing the KOS mentality or at least make it easier for bandits to rob people without killing them. Lets not be silly though. Many people KOS because it's a legitimate way of surviving. That will never change. There is a large number of players though that currently KOS due to boredome etc and that's as a result of playing the mod for 100's of hours. The mod has VERY limited content, VERY simple survival mechanics and it's VERY easy to gear up. It's those 3 things that make people shoot first and ask questions later. That will all be changing in the SA, even before vehicles and base building are introduced. Anyway, doesn't Frankie script and stage all of his vids? If so he can carry on doing that regardless and manufacture whatever situations he wants. Maybe he's worried that he'll now have to be thrown in with all of the other players and won't have his usual controlled environment. His fans may have to get used to seeing him getting shot in the face a lot more often I guess.- 1178 replies

I think there's many things that may make people think twice about shooting on sight now (although many will still play like that because they like it) but I don't think base-building or vehicles have anything to do with it. More things to do, less ammo (so that you have to think about every bullet you use) and a more complex survival system are more important in my opinion. -

Suggestions for the DayZ standalone - thinking outside of the limitations of an Arma 2 mod.

Revolvers !! anything from the original single action nagants [double actions were availible, originally russian army issue] to the humble .38 and 22lr target pistols up to the bigger 357 and 44 magnums. If making 357 or 44 mag revolvers then implement 38 or 44 special ammo which deals slightly less damage but less recoil. Everything you can think of in regards to revolvers. Non-semi auto rifles. pump actions, lever actions [wild west much], bolt actions in every different caliber and makes imaginable. Shotguns included in this suggestion. In every caliber possible from 22lr up to 458 win mag [and any in between] with calibers making all the difference in a way. weapon modding - wanna cut down that 870? or put a stock on that peacemaker? why? for teh lulz [and increased manuverability/ accuracy]. Cut down that double barrel [should be able to be equiped as a secondary if shortened enough] and breach that locked door, put a thermal scope on a lee enfield all you need is a tool box. More vehicles, everything from com-bloc era Ladas [and older] to the current day Family cars, 4x4s and higher performance models. Modding of them too with higher performance parts and better suspension. Use a flashlight along with a weapon without the need for it to be mounted, [ductape if it is needed on a rifle?] Also it doesn't need to be practical if you can use it well and you think it is cool! *starts dreaming of the day he could carry a 44 magnum/BHP, a high quality lever action and cruise around with a M14AIM & Mossy590 in the boot of his modded up car ingame* -
Custom vehicles explode on my server! Help?

Yeah it's back to default now though. It just sent me to that loading screen when I deleted that hacker thing. But I checked on openDayZ.net and from what I've found I can do it with MySQL and Navicat. So I installed both (Note I installed MySQL from oracle and some sort of DayZ recommended one because if there is one I can't find it) and watched this tutorial: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2mwKsBDMkYY and everything that popped up for me didnt pop up at all. I tried one last time to spawn the banned vehicles from the Control Panel on DayZ.ST and it finally worked! It never worked before for some reason. All the vehicles are driveable as well so I'm quite happy :DD -

Vehicles already have this because players move them around. I want it to be mimiced by the server for items. -
If you're just making a sandbag stash and not keeping any vehicles or tents in the area than I would suggest making it sort of close to a common spawn point, make it far but close enough that if you spawn in you can get to your stash rather easily. Don't make it directly north of Cherno, Elektro, or Balota. It will be found much quicker by people on their way up north. Try to find 2 trees close together, 2 bushes close together, or a bush and a tree close together and try to put it under them. Using those tactics my friend made a stash that hasn't been found while he was on vacation for 3 weeks, and several weeks after it is still not found.

I gave them apaches cause i once read that AI can't see left/right properly, hueys have side gunners so they were pretty useless, apache has a front gunner and they were nasty :lol: But they are pretty thick and commited suicde a lot, ArmA 3 AI are a lot better and even more so when used with extra scripts, fingers crossed we get some top quality missions when the game hits RC. You shouldn't ever remove that line, add new rules but not remove, you've left the server vunerable to scripters now :( Vehicles must have a database entry, it records the damage, inventory and most importantly the coordinates, you can't get away with adding banned vehicles this way as the ban list of vehicles are client side. Dayz.st does allow you to add many extra vehicles that other hosts can't, there was once a list on opendayz.net listing them all if you search. -

The Graphics do look nice so far in my opinion. But most of those Animations still look quite bad and the Zeds still behave stupid and out of control which is quite a bummer. Hope we will see improvements on this parts fast. Because as of now this "Standalone" still looks like a mod with many bugs. Nothing which would encourage me to buy it. I'd expect more of a standalone, features like Origins got them with more vehicles and modifications on those. Not only weapon mods. Which is nice but doesnt suite the whole "Im a normal person trying to survive" purpose. I do hope there will be more to do then just trying to stay alive or killing each other.
