    Go to the forest of trees

    this is a camoflauge netting that is used to provide cover in wooded areas. here it is pictured on top of a vehicle. implementing this type of "cover" for vehicles and items will make the wilderness more interesting. coupled with the persistant storage idea (which should ONLY be a tent imo) makes for good camping. also proper civilian hunting clothes.
  2. Fatigue system is already suggested and there is a thread for it on first 2 pages (iirc) Ghillie suit should not hide your backpack if you are wearing one. And I don't think limiting Ghillie suit to not being able to carry one would not be good thing. You can put whatever you want on ghillie suit in reality - even cowboy hat and pink boxers if you feel like it. Heavy weaponry should be taken very seriously. I say not to any portable turrets, RPG7V could be however added because of its great effect on unarmored vehicles but little effect to killing players from long distance. I don't know about mines and such (IEDs as suggested by other threads). At some point it would add to realism but we should ask question when it is too much. Stepping on AP landmines while traveling through the land might not be the best thing in the world. 1st time could be funny, 10th could be annoying already.

    Dead military bodies and civilian bodies

    This is pretty much exactly what I want considering the state of buildings and vehicles in Chernarus indicates a timeline that starts many many years after the start of the infection... I'd also very much like to see severed limbs and torn apart bodies that indicates the infected have been "feeding" as I highly doubt this infection magically makes the infected immune to hunger.
  6. Come join NDA's server that includes loads of ai mission's with intelligent ai that have a dead on shot and will even try to flank you. The reward is great and the risk even greater. You can find the custom areas of that map at kamenka, Cherno, NW airfield, NE airfield, and stary trader center.Vehicles are all over the map and we have medium strength armed vehicles such as BTR's, Jackals, and etc. (no tanks, attack helicopters, or jets). Missions vary from weapon caches, NATO weapon caches, bandit medical outpost, medical outpost, Plane cargo drops and crashes, and many others. We plan to add many more cities and military like areas around the map to create a more interesting Chernarus experience. With a toolbox on spawn you are able to get going right away with the toolbox to bike script. The load out consists of a G17, cooked meat, water bottle, painkillers and morphine, toolbox, map, hatchet, and flashlight. It's easy to gear up and get going which makes for a more enjoyable experience Spread the word and help us get this server started! No plot pole required for building. Thanks to Sandbird over at Greek operation Forces we now have tear gas. Instead of smoke grenades they cause blurry vision, shaking, and hearing problems until you move away you also might begin to cough. We have also enabled HALO spawns which enable much more access to the land.     I don't understand where people are getting this idea that once vehicles are added they won't have to walk any more... In DayZ mod there were 2 bikes per server, and that was with 40-60 slot servers.

    When will DayZ Standalone get to the Beta phase?

    I played the mod for the first time the other day, and while it did look much less polished and older, which makes sense since it is, I did enjoy it a lot. The vehicles and weapons were new to me and instead of sitting there nitpicking what I liked or disliked when compared to the standalone, I just treated it like a different, albeit similar, game. I will have to agree that its largely pvp as far as my experience so far goes, but then again, so is a lot of the standalone.

    Question still remains, will we actually get a helicopter in the SA :) As far as i know, its not confirmed yet, only that we get "vehicles" but not which type and what not hehe. Exciting times ahead indeed hehe.

    I think you will get the best experience out of it, that way, and at the same time be an active participant in the development of the game :) And you can expect vehicles in the SA to be way more complex then they are in the mod, thats basicly why we dont have them yet hehe.

    Thank you. I will start with the SA. Then I'll go on some Mod servers and play with some of my friends who already have the Mod, fight, use helicopters. :D Then when SA will get helicopters and other vehicles I'll move to it, and will only play on the Mod for the stuff SA doesn't have yet, or to play with those friends. I actually wanted to do that in the start, too.

    Its entirely up to your "needs and wantings" mate :) Theres a giant difference from the mod to the SA, the mod is generally alot easier and focused more on PVP. The SA seems to be harder, when it comes to survival, with far less weapons, no vehicles and no respawning loot yet :) Im gonna have to say i would start with SA, if i were you, simply because its the game with the most potential and its still in early development, so theres a long way to go, + its alot more fun to be part of the development process, then just playing the mod, which will never hit a final stage anyway :) It might be the hardest to start with SA, but its by far the most rewarding experience tbh, as obtaining items in the mod is a joke, with little to no challenge attached.

    Yeh the mod is basicly a giant pvp clusterfuck, with 1000 vehicles on each server, you start with a fully geared toon and theres no challenge in the survival at all. So if you want big guns, lots of cars and pvp till you puke, go for the mod :) If you want to try and survive in a harsh world, with little to no resources, go for the SA :)

    I HATE playing 3rd person servers.

    I would like to play 3pp also, but the camera is so exploitable, I think the only think Warz did better than Dayz is making a much less exploitable 3pp camera. It will become more exploitable I think, when using vehicles like in arma 3, camera will be floating 20 meters above the vehicle.

So we have heard that the buildings could do some optimization and now we have learned that it's the interior proxies that aren't optimized well. Rocket mentions the buildings aren't the only thing so I wonder what those other client side optimizations could be? Building proxies can bring some fps but there must be something else that brings the fps down in cities because if you port cherna+ in Arma 3 and play alone in the editor the fps is very good in cities compared to DayZ. Or has Arma 3 already some proxy optimization so it won't be hard to do in DayZ? So what could be the other thingsthat bring the fps down in client side? Is it the thousands of items that also aren't optimized? At least in Arma when you put many vehicles and other stuff around you the fps comes down. Or is it the server-client relationship that still isn't well optimized in DayZ, though it should be? I just like to hear some more answers from the devs if possible because I'm pretty sure it isn't the building proxies that is the biggest fps hog unless Arma 3 engine can somehow optimize those and DayZ can't yet. New architecture should allow client to run DayZ like Arma alone in the editor but in towns this is far from the truth so something else isn't right. At least I'd like to get an answer are those proxies differently optimized in DayZ and Arma 3?

    I am well-aware of that fact :) Many of these vehicles were originally produced in those countries even though they were part of Soviet Union back then so I wouldn't specifically count them as Russian machinery even though Russians developed them. Most of them are significantly improved over original models which were not known by their reliability so could as well say that successful units still originate from these few post-soviet countries. Also, I stated in my post that yes, most of the light weaponry is Russian originated but there are variety of firearms in use. As of now, I do agree and admit my mistake that most of light weaponry as of assault rifles, machine guns and pistols are Russian-made. It will take time for army that big to adapt such radical change in their weaponry in short time but the adaption is indeed in progress. E# As for "army that big" I mean it is not like giving new weapons for platoon and deal is done. The adaption requires adequate technicians, ammunition supplies, training for every single soldier and ability to preserve the ability of defence while doing that. Also, spare parts are needed. I must again apologize for off-topic. :(

    CZ Scorpion Evo 3 A1

    Much of their equipment was made in Ukraine yes... USSR Ukraine. Also the Ukrainian weapons are in no way adapted to NATO standards, they are normal 5.45 and 7.62x54r weapons. And some of their stuff may be considered Ukrainian made, but most of it are heavy upgrades of old vehicles (such as there best tank which are just USSR era T-64's heavily upgraded, BTRs are much the same.)

    I'm looking for a Chernarus epoch server with NO SAFEZONES, destructible bases or indestructible+decay, no donator perks/bases/crap, WITH PEOPLE, with not very overpowered AI missions (by overpowered I mean I don't want to clear it with an m4, loot it and end up with an m107), with snapbuild if possible (not very important), with TOW (merlin and trucks), no deploy bike/heli crap, no 400k vehicles/helicopters, no custom loot if possible (getting into the 1st firestation you see and again, ending up with an m107), no death messages like X killed by Y at 1km with an M107 Overview of the most important aspects: -NO OVERPOWERED DEATH MESSAGES -NO SAFEZONES; -Destructible bases OR indestructible with decay; +15 people regularly (the more, the better); -NO 400k custom barracks, spawns 360 noscope stuff; -No overpowered loot; -No 500k vehicles/helis; -No donor crap. SERVERS WITH APPROXIMATE SETTINGS ARE WELCOME THANK YOU FOR YOUR HELP!

    Organic DayZ experience

    Me and my group that has been together for over 10 years met two people like this in the mod and have been hanging with them for over a year now. One of them we were all cruising down the road like a bike gang on bicycles and saw him running down the road so we all started circling him trying to run him over and he started talking to us and we started talking back; and then a giant ass explosion (probably one of the biggest in DayZ histry) happened like just out of our sight so we all run over even this new guy and it was some hackers "base" who had just teleported every single vehicle on the server, including the boats and choppers (this was on a super vehicle server too), and like 99% of them had blown up and he killed himself. We then played with this new guy for a bit longer, got into one of the like 2 vehicles that hadn't blown up, and eventually invited him onto our coms and he became our friend. The other one was a friendly who didn't have his gun out and I was a new spawn so I ran up and pretended I couldn't talk and was crouched shaking my head yes and no to his questions. I was then secretly sneaking into his backpack on the inventory screen and found a handy little M1911 and some ammo and stole it and robbed him with his own gun. He thought this was hilarious and so did I as it was a complete spur of the moment I wonder if this will work thing so I started playing with him and eventually invited him in too. We've been happily "accidentally" killing each other and robbing newbs ever since.

    Looking for a hardcore PVP bandit server

    Well my friend....the only thing on the list that you wouldn't like is indestrucible bases..but the way some people build on our server are just plain retarded. We are a militarized server (no tanks/jets/gunships) but there's more than enough military hardware to grief someones base and/or vehicles. The AI missions are the typical building supplies/weapons/etc...but we currently have the MAAWS spawning at chopper crashes...as well as bringing back the good ol' AS50s and M107s...we also have a laundry list of military vehicles.... Towing and lifting is active...as are self blood bags...and we have Sector D...our custom AI island with 2 urals full of shit but also an assload of AI..its Epoch Panthera...and we are the Redux Gamers Community... http://www.reduxgamers.com/ The TS link AND the Gametracker link are on there...I think you guys would make an EXCELLENT addition to our server.
