    Clothing sizes

No this idea couldn't work one too much realism two you might as well add character strength because I doubt a dwarf or midget can carry around a RPG AK or even MG around and also theyd be too small to fly or drive certain vehicles not to mention how long it'd take to make this.
  2. On your first point.. I wonder if the plans for a 64-bit platform will allow this to happen. I'm especially curious about comments that Dean has made, specifically at E3 when discussing his longterm roadmap he identified a scenario where players would "have to go to another server to find a specific part they need to complete their helicopter" These sort of comments are at odds with a server-side persistent loot system. On your second point, and as a segue, I hadn't considered vehicles until just now. Perhaps the components of vehicles could be carried from one server to another, but the vehcile itself would remain in one server. Using your example, things would get pretty ridiculous if whilst driving another player's car where said player logs out, and you're left driving a cushion of air..
  3. Loads of Features !!! Self Blood Heli lift Vehicle Towing Salvage Vehicle Custom Clan bases Custom Military Bases Custom Spawn Menu AI Patrol / Missions Extra Vehicles Extra Buildings Indestructible Bases PlotPole Zombie killer Anti Hack Great server Active admins !!!!!
  4. YES You do need to find an excuse to stop for a bit lol How can you have logged 900hours on a game that's such a shell of its mod predecessor lol If the game as it is now is that enjoyable....try Arma 2...all you will miss is 2 zombies in each town ;) Iv got well over 1000hrs in the mod but only 60odd in SA. I just cant play it for more that 30mins at a time...not till theres proper zombies, enough of them, base building, hunting and vehicles. Its just so boring atm. With those it catches up to the mod a lot. Don't get me wrong, the main feature for me atm is food drink system....and that's such a vast improvement from the mod I cant wait to see how well done the other systems are :)

The first vehicle that should be added

Its already said the FIRST vehicle is going to be the bicycle and TRUST ME when i say its going to be your best friend even when newer vehicles pop up. In the mods they take LESS to maintain than any other high end vehicle in game plus they are amazing both on and off road.

The first vehicle that should be added

They said they might do a small car as well as the bike actually. I personally think it should be a car instead of a bike first if not both because bikes are such selfish modes of transportation. Vehicles act well as a group project and end game, and encourage cooperation where as bikes are almost the exact opposite.

The first vehicle that should be added

Why do people bother to talk so much about "what the first vehicle should be" and so on. The first vehicle WILL be a bicycle. We will not see it FOR MONTHS. The next vehicles ARE NOT EVEN BEING CONSIDERED until they think that what they want will work. That requires a prototype. The bicycle is that prototype.

    Epoch Or Vanilla?

It's all horses for courses and each to their own, but from what I've found, Epoch seems to be DayZ with most of the ... DayZ removed. Loot and vehicles are too easy to hoard, let alone just find. Farming currency by grinding trash loot with a bot? Seems a bit WoW. With scarce resources not being scarce and not having to compete for anything, combat is just for the sake of it? Seems a bit Wasteland, but everyone joined the green team. There's some seriously ugly Lego-town looking construction thing going on. Seems a bit Minecraft. And ugly. If all you Epoch-ers enjoy that kind of thing then kudos to you. However, I would describe Epoch as Wasteland meets WoW meets Minecraft.

    Humvee ?

I'm not sure what everyone else has been playing, but the HMMWV in the public hive DayZ mod is a little different to the guesses posted so far. It normally spawns on Black Mountain, in the shell of the castle keep only a few metres from the MH6J spawn. I just picked one up from BM this week, as my favourite, the UAZ offroad, wasn't at Altar and the Military Offroad wasn't at GM. Unfortunately you sir are also incorrect ... which is all the more poetic given that you refer to an out of date wiki that you have also misread :P The HMMWV was tweaked some time ago, as were the other military vehicles. Capacity was significantly increased, as was speed. It is slightly faster than the UAZ flat out, both off and on road, with an increased road speed of around 116kmh (hint ... use vehicle turbo key for more). Capacity is 4 seats, 50 items, 10 weapons/tools and 2 backpacks. The UAZ on the other hand, carries 7 backpacks, is smaller and easier to hide, but has a louder, higher pitched engine note and is easier to flip over. The Military Offroad (Land Rover Defender LWB) that usually spawns in the compound on Green Mountain carries more than both of them at 8 seats, 80 items and is about as fast as the HMMWV. However it is taller and longer, making it more likely to roll and harder to conceal. Too much time in the real mod I guess
  11. Obviously bases should also have some sort of logout. This would allow for fortress and fun sieges instead of just hide & pray base style. For balance and fairness both vehicles & bases must have some sort of mechanics like you can only have one vehicle, you must use it within 48 hours, and idk, actually Im pretty out of ideas on this one. Having a respawn would also be a must, but also stackable like you said having 60, then 90, 120 would be too much. So really, I dont know. Point is, If I have a base or a vehicle, I want to lose them when Im online. And as me pretty much everybody would want that. So if we can figure out some solution to that... (and hope the devs actually give a fuck about it...)
  12. Well I think vehicles were a pretty cool addition to the mod, but they should be hard to get running. You can either make fuel extremely rare and hard to get to (put fuel in areas controlled by snipers, high counts of zombies, areas you're exposed), or just simply make parts very rare to find. The 'end game' aspect of DayZ should be just as hard to maintain as when you start out, the biggest difference is you have A LOT more to lose if you die later on in the game. But, like in the mod, dying wasn't a big deal because you have so much stuff at 'base camp' where you are easily careless with needing to survive and you can just regear at any time..thats no fun. How will real-estate work if people are hording areas or constantly ransacking other peoples stuff? (destroying it or building infront/ontop of someone elses things). I think one interesting thing in State of Decay I noticed, was you can establish outposts and have any nearby zeds taken care of if you replenish your defenses. Essentially creating safe-zones. But all of this only leads the veterean players to have all of the advantages and new players to either join a community and hope to be accepted or fend for themselves when they're killed for 'trespassing' or because they have no where to turn to because all the loot zones and good areas are taken up.
  13. To be honest the vehicles, tents, pets and houses ALL are very much intended as an end game survival aspect if you live long enough. I think these kind of things SHOULD be rewarded to players but they take just as much work and risk taking to obtain. They would still take insane amounts of survival skills to keep up on as well as defend against. Having a base will expose you allot to dont forget but the rewards should be just as much to compensate for the increased dangers. If they added a layer of minecraft building with greater ease of where to place objects and how they look i think it would add a nice depth to it. But anything that requires a generator should require much care to maintain. As well as things like attracting more zombies to your location with increased lighting source as well as bandits and heroes alike.

    Grass Graphics

I'm old enough to remember Operation Flashpoint, which looked like this: There was no grass at all. The bushes were magical - as long as you remained inside them the enemy were programmed to not see you, even though they knew you were there. Notice the pub model off in the distance, which hasn't changed much since 2001. ArmA introduced spartan grass although as nowadays it was purely a graphical effect: With Arma2 they seem to have gone mad (and this is relatively light foliage): The obvious solution is to revert to model from ArmA, and have spartan grass again. Just enough that the game world doesn't look awful, but keep it neatly trimmed so that it never interferes with your vision. Long grass didn't work in the single-player version of ArmA2 - imagine playing DayZ but against players armed with grenade launchers, armoured vehicles, and aimbots - and it makes no sense in multiplayer.
  15. Like Deathlove said, remain dedicated to a server if you plan on investing time into anything beyond your characters possessions. Part of the game is having to travel on foot, as in a real life situation you wont necessarily have unlimited fuel to syphon or good tires/brakes and things to get you around constantly. You will rely on energy efficient travel, IE bicycles. Even then you run into issues with chains and tires (if you have air tube ones). besides, most of the vehicles you DO find in DayZ environments are older. This means crappy plugs, contaminated fuel, seized parts, etc. I think people just like to complain about anything they can...they want 'this' then get it, and now its not good enough. This is a survival game. Do you remember when DayZ FIRST started? People were not INTENDED on living beyond a few hours. Even the intro to the site shows the average length of lifespan for characters... Now you invest hours into your character and get pissed if the character dies and you have to start over. That's how the game was indented. Vehicles, pets, houses, etc is moving the game into a totally different direction from how the game started out. they're convenient but really..its all about survival without life's commodities. if you want to invest, go play City Life lol
  16. Again vehicles with guns and armor would break this idea in two if they were allowed to log out with them. Imagine going about doing whatever than a guy spawns outta nowhere with an armored humvee or tank and blows you way. Wouldn't be very fun would it? lol
  17. blissandpanic

Maybe the reason why they haven't added bicycles?

That's a good idea but will another vehicle spawn? because when 30 ppl log out for the day the server will be missing 30 vehicles for example. On the flip side if they re-spawn and those players come back...well you will end up with 60 vehicles. I think if ppl can break into your camp while you are offline, then they should be able to do the same to your vehicle. Of course you can hide your camp and vehicle in a remote spot and add booby traps and such and then do a little prayer before you head to work that morning. ;) Edit: i type so slow by the time i finished the post someone else made the point. Oh well, beanzz to ya good sir :beans:
  18. Vacant vehicles and forts in honesty would and should be fair game. The logging out with your vehicles would provide advantages and an OP kind of sense in itself especially if its a vehicle with guns and armor. Maybe booby trapping vehicles and bases should be a thing that way they might have an advantage but at least the person who owns them does too.
  19. I think they will keep it like the mod. Vehicles bound to one server. So hide them well and they will likely not be taken by other people.
  20. When vehicles are added people will start playing on same server and ghosting and server hopping will become much less of a factor, except for lone wolves who don't give a shit about vehicles. But right now those are top everything (gear) and when vehicles and bases are added, even if they have top gear, not being bound to a server will imply being on a huge disadvantadge towards those who are. At least was like that back in the mod. Bound vehicles make sense, if not, clans would just hoard Helis and all sort of vehicles from different servers and put them together in one server, turning this into battlefield 3. And no, thanks. I already have BF3 for that. P.D: what makes a lot more sense is having some way to logout with YOUR vehicle, making things still fair for everyone though. Because back in the mod, one of the big problems was losing your vehicles simply when you were not playing because you were busy with RL. If I gotta lose my vehicle, ok, but I'd rather lose it "on track" while defending whats mine, not because im at the office.
  21. But I already run 15mph. And everybody is on the eastern most fourth of the map. In the mod we were slow enough to warrant the need for light vehicles like bikes. When the game is closer to complete and we actually need to hoard survival equipment and build camps, vehicles will be necessary. But atm all vehicles would do is over stimulate the addoral jockeys that are already ruining this game.

Maybe the reason why they haven't added bicycles?

But if I am driving a vehicle I kinda' see it as my equipment. Does this mean we won't be able to transfer our vehicles to other servers like Rocket mentioned?
  23. scriptfactory

Maybe the reason why they haven't added bicycles?

Does it make sense to save vehicles on the server but save character locations globally? What happens if I am traveling across the countryside and am disconnected? If I join a new server will I lose my vehicle?
  24. Have you played the mod? The bicycles are 100%s better than going on foot. In fact i would dare say they were one of the best vehicles overall in the mod. They are quite, have no issue going fast offroad, and require VERY little maintenance compared to allot of the heavier vehicles that require engines and a buttload of other things to make work right. Trust me you find a bike you will cherish it when you do find one.
  25. The people asking for vehicles confuse me. Our characters run faster cross country than bikes ever got us places in the mod. Is a 20 minute run across the map really that bad? But if it would get the kiddies off of the coast I guess it's a good thing.
