Yes, actually, it is an incredibly serious problem. In a game based on tension, suspense, horror, split second decisions, perception, and situation awareness, SOUND sets as much of the stage as GRAPHICS. Imagine playing any AAA title without the sound and imagine how different that game would be. Imagine competitive counter-strike/league of legends/starcraft matches where the players had ALL sound muted... It would be unthinkable. How would you feel about DayZ if you got constant visual artifacts? Random audio artifacts are no different, and it severely impacts the playability of the game. Sound/hearing is incredibly important and it is one of the major nagging issues that I hope gets sorted out.. Above vehicles, above persistent storage, above another town, more weapons, or more crafting recipes.. This "bug/glitch" has been present since the initial release of Standalone.. that's over 6 months. No graphic bug has been present that long.

Since the beginning I've pictured ambushes on rival groups' vehicles on the Northern highway with hidden explosive charges, followed by a massive gunfight. Once the systems facilitating this sort of thing are in place, I would like to make the machinima I've daydreamed about.

once vehicles get added I can see this as a place where folks get taken to get shot and with the physics they'll roll to the bottom or maybe I'm just sick.

I can also build bases quite well, given that I have access to Snap Build and the resources to build said base (Metal Floors, Cinder Block walls, combination locks, etc) Maps~ I am know my way around the following maps: - Chernarus - Taviana - Panthera I want to become fluent on the following maps: - Takistan - Napf I have Teamspeak 3, I'm 18 Years old, only language is English, and ive spent Well over 1,000 hours on ArmaII/Dayz/Epoch/Origins/Overwatch. I get along quite well with small groups of players (2-7) though have alittle trouble co-ordinating with anything much larger. My Timezone is AEST (Australian Eastern Standard Time) - UTC/GMT + 10 Hours, though I can adapt to later times (Up until 3am at most) My goal right now is to support other friendly players by using my skills with familier aircraft and ground vehicles. Has Anyone Else lost Faith in Dayz?

The problem is everything else has been redone. The zombies aren't the same zombies from the mod, they've also been redone, new skeletons/models everything. Their ai just sucks right now. For cars, we've seen videos of what happens when people mod in the cars. Your character is standing in them/sticking through the roof etc. They would need to create animations/poses for those old cars, because the characters have been completely redone. How would you implement the parts system as well? Would you just not have parts, and only working vehicles? That's dull and people would complain. If you implement having to repair vehicles, you then need to put all those models into the game as well. I mean I guess they could just use the old ones, but there'd be a serious difference in quality. It's all time and resources devoted to implementing the old stuff instead of working on the new. The thing is they are redoing pretty much everything from scratch. They don't want to waste time implementing half ass systems, that they'll just have to scrap and replace. I know it gets thrown around probably too much, but it's the alpha. This isn't about the players and having a fun time unfortunately. Trust me, I totally feel ya and wish they would make some compromises to give us as testers a better experience while we wait, but then again there's still the mod for that. This stuff will come, we just need to wait, and it will be better than the mod. That's the entire point. We knew what we were getting into when we bought it early. Now if they'd just hurry up =P -

Keep in mind what I'm about to say is my own opinion and not facts. I love DayZ and I love that it started all the different survival apoclayspe genres. I played hundreds of hours on DayZ mod and SA but I am quickly losing faith in the devs and this game. The development is so slow and the engine that DayZ uses is so horrible. I looking very much further toward other upcoming games like H1Z1. Where they have things in game that DayZ won't have until the end of or even the next year. At least in H1Z1 I can look forward too massive servers supporting up and over 1000 players while DayZ can barely support 40. Vehicles and base building will all be available to me when the game is released in early access in a couple of weeks. Rather then months. If the devs want to be able to keep DayZ alive they better kick it up a notch and hire some more coders so it dosen't seem like a 1 man development team. -
Until there are vehicles or spawns are near there, not interested. I only play this game with my friends, I don't want to run for hours to go somewhere to find them just to die to another player or something dumb like touching a ladder or falling through the wall of a house.

PVP + hunger bar = Survival Game? Gameplay fits story?

Sorry if I think that the roadmap looks more like persisting "arma pvp + hunger" than "story and survival of human being". I do not care about vehicles and hunting animals and wearing nice hats as long as there is no little reason to team up and build up and go against zombies and live/turn the story. Survival of human being - players, or Battlefield - players.. A mix of both simply does not make sense for either of them as you can see atm. -
It's never fun to find loot that looks like this, stuck halfway into a wall or sitting on a bed or locker just out of hands reach with no way to get to it. .. so I came up with a solution that I think will create a better environment for dayz. Container Scavenging! - All of the container type objects currently displayed in the game would be converted to have a "gear menu" and become dispensers for various loot types that are sorted into catagories and found only in certain types of containers. STEP 1 - Player See's container and recognizes it as a source for "Food Loot" Walks up to the container and presses the action button. Step 2 - Sound Plays (rusty old fridge door) Inventory opens and Loot able Items inside container show up in the vicinity column.. ( vicinity could be renamed while accessing the container name, in this case it would say "fridge) Step 3 - Player Drags Items into Inventory and walks to look for next container Here are some examples of more containers already found in the world, Imagine all the different loot that could be found in them! You could find gas cans, the portable stove, and maybe some rotten cooked meat. Perhaps this sink could be used to refill water bottles? Watch out for contamination! Perhaps there is an old rifle or some ammunition in this old closet. Defiantly a flashlight or some duct tape, and a pair of old shoes in there, looks like someone left their can of beans on the way to work. Oh look more canned foods, perhaps some pots and pans as well My grandpa used to keep his revolver in the side table by his bed just like this one. I bet there is some books, or even a map, or perhaps some other strange treasures in here. Here's where I'll find that pen i was looking for, some battery's perhaps, I wonder what else is in here. Time for some new clothes, or maybe even a backpack. Rotten Kiwi I see you, oh look some old rags. I found tools in the tool shed! One of my biggest frustrations with dayz at the moment is loot placement. I walk into a house and I see a fridge, a sidetable, a desk, a stove, a fireplace, a closet, a bed, a kitchen counter, sinks, bathtubs, shelves, the list goes on and on, yet I am completely ignoring them! Some of you may remember this type of script being used while accessing the vehicles or tent "gear" menu in Dayz Mod. I have just reimagined the same process being used for containers to store and spawn loot in various places around the world. What do you think? Few more bad ideas: -Hot hair balloon (cant steer them :P) -Vote Kicking -1pp one only (DemonGroover started the war :P) -Night vision goggles (But think they happening) -Comb over's (thing would get to real!) -More ammo/food -Pay to win style online items store -Bling (rings and stuff, don't need the extra rendering costs) -Armoured vehicles (like tanks and APCs) -Poop/excretion system (Don't think anyone wants that, but has be brought up before) Added: Child zombies (some thing just don't need to be added)

This would never happen. The reason KoS is so rampant is because after you gear up in about 30 seconds, there is nothing left to do cept kill people. Once vehicles and bases are implemented, people will start focusing on that rather than killing off everyone.

PlayZ | EU Epoch Panthera custom add-ons

Hello! I am an admin on the newly created PlayZ Epoch Panthera server. Please note that the server is BRAND new. So if there aren't many players on... Yet. The idea of the server began when the owner (Scrafty), me and the other current admins on the server were looking for a good Epoch server that wasn't flooded with child bandits and had a good community yet also had the desired add-ons we wanted. We couldn't find a single one. Scrafty is now running a server from Amsterdam (so it's perfect for UK players as well) ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- You can find the server by simply using DayZ Commander by setting the mod to "Epoch Panthera" and then typing PlayZ in the search bar or adding 109.236.85.30:2502 to your favourites. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Our current add-ons are: No plot-pole needed (you are able to use them though). No building decay. Indestructible cinder and metal floors. Build Snapping. Non roaming AI missions. (You don't have to do them, but they have awesome loot. Also they are marked on the map.) Tow/Lift. (This also means you can lift vehicles with helicopters if someone isn't inside, and towing tractors can tow EVERYTHING.) Safe-zone for traders. Backpack protection for in trader zones. Custom weapons and custom vehicles at traders. (This also means chainsaws for a briefcase each! Or sell for 50oz gold.) Build-A-Bike. (From a toolbox.) Self blood bag at medical areas (like hospitals) and medical vehicles. No trade animations (very useful.) ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ AI Missions. A very important note: Most AI missions spawn buildings along with them, like the Villa from the mayor mission or the log cabin in the civilian chopper mission. Do NOT build in them. During a restart they will be knocked down and won't be there anymore. The best way to tell if a finished mission building isn't part of the map is if it's in a random location like the middle of a forest with a tree growing out of the roof or on the side of a mountain at an impossible angle. If you do make the mistake of building in one, do not remove (or destroy if it's wooden) the items used to build in it. An admin will delete each piece of the construction and refund it to you. There are several AI missions, all AI has been set to try and flank you once attacked. They will shoot you even if you do not shoot them first, although they will return to the mission cargo if you run off. They don't randomly roam around the map like some AI plugins. Most AI carry a radio on them. These radios are useless to us but traders want them for the gold circuit wires inside them and the copper that makes them work. You can sell them to traders for 3 gold each. On the marijuana mission you can also sell the hemp the bandits grow to traders for 5 gold per bag. (You can also buy it from traders for the same price, so it almost acts as a currency.) The missions have been customized but not made over powered, on some missions the .50 Cal gunners do not spawn, on others up to 3 will spawn. Some guns have been added that you can ONLY get from trading with other players or doing the mission yourself and looting the dead AI, like the MK Sniper SD and other MK weapons. Do remember though, all vehicles (cars, lorries, helicopters and planes) will be stolen back by the AI after restart if you got it from them. It's best to use it as a joy ride or a salvage opportunity. They can also be sold which is possible the best use. Missions include: Armed vehicle: Just an armed vehicle that spawns with a low amount of AI. The prize is the vehicle and no loot boxes spawn. You can sell the vehicle at bandit or hero traders. Not a bad mission to do while you're just starting out because if you fail, what do you lose? And if you don't... then you have some easy gear to use to get yourself to higher tier loot. Please remember though, this isn't just a random broken down car you found on the road. This belongs to someone. If the server restarts the AI will take back the car and the mission will be back on the map. It's best to sell it or at-least use it until it's nearly a server restart so you can salvage all the wheels and glass as a middle finger to the bandits who will sneak it back with them. Bandit Base: Some bunkers spawn with AI bandits and a loot box full of weaponry. This mission is quite hard. It's best to do with a friend and to consistently change position after every couple shots. If you alert the bandits to where you're hiding they will just sit and wait for you to poke your head back over and blast your grey matter all over your band new SUV you just bought. C130 Crash: An AC-130 spawns on the ground slightly damaged. Bandits patrol around it and the prize is the AC-130 which you can sell. Really expensive vehicle with in an intermediate mission? Yeah. But good luck taking off a 40 meter wingspan plane on top of a mountain. And if you're a God-like pilot and pull it off, you deserve the briefcase of gold the trader will give you for it. Ikea Convoy: Two URALs and a Humvee spawn next to a huge loot crate. It's surrounded by about 15 Ikea workers in bright fluorescent jackets with very powerful snipers and close range STANAG guns like the M8 Compact. There are 2-3 .50 Cal gunners. It's hard to do this mission even from 400 meters with silenced snipers. The AI is advanced and they have impeccable aim. One shot knockout.Bollocks This mission is VERY hard. But the loot is worth it. It may take up to 3 friends to do it, but sharing the loot 3 ways is still hard to carry back to base. Mortar, cinder, combo-locks (Not to be confused with "bollocks") and packs of plywood are some of the few useful base-building items to be found here. Crash: The simplest and easiest mission. A helicopter crashes into the side of a hill. It's completely charred and smoking off in the distance and cannot be fixed. some bandit survivors of the crash stand around it. Take them all out and you can have whatever they had on them. You can do this mission very easily with a sniper but be warned, they will shoot back. Disabled Civilian Chopper: An unarmed chopper is taken down by bandits and all survivors killed. The bandits are well armed with snipers and machine guns, and the chopper is flyable. The bandits will be hiding in a log house very near by and there will be a very low tier weapons crate outside. Since it isn't armed anyone of any status can sell it at AWOL's airfield. You may need a friend to do this mission, using just regular guns unless you're a lone wolf that happens to be a very good sniper. Disabled Military Chopper: Like the civilian variant, this helicopter was taken down by bandits, but they managed to pick up military weapons from the members they took out inside the chopper. They are harder than the civilian mission AI but the helicopter is worth a quite a bit, since it's military and therefor armed. You will need to use a hero or bandit trader to sell it. SUV Weapons Cache: A higher tier weapons crate will spawn with bandits paroling around an SUV. They will not drive the SUV and it's simply there for you to steal and sell. The weapons can be piled into the back of the SUV and sold along with the car at a trader plaza. The bandits will put up a quite a fight and may hide behind custom mission spawned buildings. Mayor's Mansion: A huge villa will be built with the Mayor inside. His hitmen in black suits and sunglasses will hide inside along with Takistan soldiers. He carries a very rare golden revolver that can be sold or kept as a souvenir and there will be a high tier box of weapons inside the building. This mission is very hard. I advise doing it with several friends with silenced snipers. The loot is very expensive and worth selling and even the guns and radios on the AI can fetch a lot of gold. An excellent mission to do if you need money to buy a safe or a chainsaw. Medical camp: Some crazy rouge doctors have formed an alliance and have stolen all of the medical equipment from local hospitals and plan to sell it for inflated prices. While making a camp to settle for the night half of them keep watch in case someone tries to invade them. Take out these snakes and help out others with the loot, or keep it all for yourself. Be warned though, the loot isn't really as high value as the doctors make it out to be and can be found on hospital floors where they dropped it or simply forgot to raid curtain hospitals, and they are heavily armed. MV22: An MV22 (or better known as an Osprey) has been landed by bandits. While some go out to find fuel to fill the half tank others keep watch. Take them out and try and fly the tricky aircraft to AWOL's to sell for a hansom price. A great mission to do. The bandits are very clever but lacking in numbers and the aircraft sells for lots. But do you know how to fly and land one of these things? Because I know I don't. You're welcome to try though. Ural: A huge Ural truck has crashed into a tree due to the bandit driver being drunk. While the rest go off to search nearby industrial buildings for spare wheels see if you can take out the few left to guard it. Sounds easy? They have high powered sniper rifles in the back of the Ural and have taken them out to use. Try and keep moving around so they're always in the dark and don't know where your shots are coming from. Best not to do this mission if you have good gear on you or a fancy vehicle filled with gold. They may have a medium value weapons cache but the Ural is almost worthless and they have very good vision and can plant several good shots into your chest. Weapons cache: Like the SUV weapons cache, but without the SUV. The bandits have lower tier weapons and guard a box of only slightly better weapons. It's an easy mission for some easy loot. If an end-game player takes out this tiny fleet of bandits they may leave you a decent starter weapon for you. Not a bad mission but is it worth it? You decide. Marijuana fields: The bandits are bored. No one wants to fight them. They have started cultivating weed but don't want to share it, they still have their weapons from previous missions but keep their snipers in their Ural and stupidly forget about using them. See if you and a mate can snipe them out of existence and then smoke until you forget about your own existence. Try and save some for the traders, they will pay well for such quality mountain grown marijuana. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Other tweaks and features. Hero traders have slightly cheaper vehicles compared to bandit traders. Some very high tier vehicles cannot even be bought by bandits meaning that bandits and heroes have to barter and trust each other in trading, which will be fun. There will be admin events every now and then, we will spawn in a villa or a multistory industrial building on an airstrip all using the same skins with very low humanity and have some gold on each of us. After death we will not spawn back or teleport back. After we are all dead and all bodies have been looted we will remove the building. There are more skins spawning as packages in the loot tables. All admins play as heroes. This means you can trust them to refund you items if something randomly explodes due to some Dorito guzzling rule breaker. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Rules. To be honest I don't think our rules are too harsh, but I would gladly take suggestions in adding/changing/removing some. No blowing up cars in bases. If you manage to get in legitimately you may salvage them though or damage the glass/wheel so it becomes salvageable. Do not block roads or build on roads. It's OK to place something that's removable, (no... not wooden walls.) like tank traps or ONE barbed wire kit but not entire bases or road blocks just for annoyance and no actual assistance to your survival. Abusing ANY glitch or using an add-on in a way that's abusive, annoying, spammy, or in a way that isn't supposed to be used that gives you an unfair advantage will result in an instant ban. Glitches or glitching on purpose will result in a severe warning. Repeating it or using a similar glitch to try and loop hole the away from the blame will result in a ban. No excessive base camping. If you see someone off in the distance returning to their base it's OK to wait for them to open the door and then kill them. But if you wait outside a base for hours eating Doritos and drinking Mountain Dew (in and out of game) while you have pink children's cartoons playing on another screen to amuse you then you will be aggressively shouted at. Apply Wheaton's Law to everything. I would post all other more generic server rules but by the time you start playing mods of mods on custom maps on a military simulator you should know them by now. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ To be honest I can't think of anything else to put. Added more missions. Always great to see an IKEA mission to get materials for one's base. Try out our perm Training grounds mission, difficult but a great payout. Now at 500 vehicles. Just moved more repaired vehicles to the main spawn points including some repaired Hueys and MI17s this morning. Great admins, but don't ask to be teleported... It is still Dayz. Plenty of site for bases open, we added a few custom ones for pubbers to move right in on.

lol example: NEAF has sleeping space for how many military ? right - so how many weapons should be lying around there, after "military and government" left ? man - here where I live, every time I drive past the barracks I find military gear and weapons just lying around in heaps - but they have sleeping quarters for 800 men and its common knowledge they drop stuff all over the place IRL. Of course if they were evacuated theyd throw all their stuff away, that's what the military always do first. gimme a break [oh shit, I forgot - in real life they ALSO leave a ton shitload of armored vehicles behind. Dont that make your eyes bleed ?] why are there no zombies in this image ? ( it's the wrong game, is why ) -

the problem isnt respawns, it's that the actual items at NWAF arent better then those at NEAF. Mill spawn is mill spawn. why go far for something i can get close? Theres no Perisistent storage Theres no Vehicles The items in the near-coast mil bases are the same as inland. so to sumarize, going inland means when you die it's that much further to find your buddies again. no reasont o go inland. nothign special there. sorry. -

I would want private hives to kill server hopping. But I also really don't want private hives, because they destroyed the mod. Modded servers popped up- EVERYWHERE- you couldn't just play vanilla DayZ anymore. It sucked ass, I don't want to always be playing on "US EPOCH! SELF BLOOD BAG! 50000000000 VEHICLES! MILITARY LOADOUT! NO ZOMBIES! AI MISSIONS! VEHICLE TOWING! SAFEZONES!!!!!!!!" -
Always ask yourself what server you're playing on. Hints are "1000 vehicles, spawn with Military Gear" - which 90% of these servers are these days. :(

Hi, I play on your FR34 server and I really like it, but just today I got on and all of the vehicles at my camp are gone, including the camonet and tent. It might have just all gotten stolen, but it was a lot of stuff and unlikely someone just waltzed in and took 4 vehicles and a bunch of equipment. -
Awesome man! Glad to hear you enjoyed the videos.. Some of the later ones are much better than the first few as I improved on my editing a lot. Check out some of the later ones, or even some of the DayZ mod ones if you're interested. I've been playing with Kossuth and Hoff Suppressant for over a year now, and we're a pretty solid crew in DayZ Vanilla. Right now the PVP is the main focus of most people in DayZ SA because there's no vehicles and the zeds aren't nearly as scary as they were in the mod.. Plus in the mod, there's a lot of other things to worry about like infection and such.. Those types of medical conditions/debuffs really force cooperation. Not saying the mod is "better", because I'm sure all of that stuff is coming to DayZ SA in the near future; but it definitely foreshadows what SA will become eventually.
