  1. Dean Hall, you have obviously lost all sense for what is making dayz a good game and what not. Ppl don't play DayZ to collect berries from bushes go hunting and bother with endless amounts of useless items like screwdrivers, tinopeners, caps and boots in various conditions, bothering with blood groups and so on. Noone wants to search endless amount of empty houses for some thousands of different items that all in the end have no use and value for the gameplay that you want. DayZ is not fun by maintaining food and drinks and dodging zombies. DayZ is meant to be an open world team tactical shooter with few realistic elements like eating, drinking and a better health system than usual shooters have (0-100% life and medipacks that resore some % of this life) and not the other way round. Ppl. don't wanna carry all that crap around. Surviving by finding food and dodging zombies is neither fun nor challenge for any veteran dayz player but promotes abuse (server hopping, duping, cheating) to exactly dodge these non fun parts of the game. Still this is the biggest challenge and the largest amount of time you spend in the current DayZ Standalone. Did you even think about why noone is/was playing original DayZ anymore but epoch and origins became very popular? Your game sucks by now. Less is more: - drop the blood groups - drop the thousands of different items that only serve the purpose of wasting peoples time and moving stuff from left to right and top to bottom in the inventory and in the end losing it due to glitches, server restarts/rollbacks, unselectable stuff on the ground etc. - make stuff easier in general, I don't wanna have 15 different flashlights and methods to craft them when in the end anyway noone with brain is gonna use a flashlight for the reason of not revealing their position to others. - drop the conditions of items. If you at all wanna keep it make stuff having 2 conditions: broken and working. I don't care about pristine, used, worn, damaged, badly damaged, etc., are you serious? - focus on the important stuff. This is vehicles, item storage (safes, tents, lockboxes, ...), base building, TACTICAL GAMEPLAY, SMOOTH GAMEPLAY. Don't the hell tell me its an alpha version. It is very clear where the game is going to at this point of time and it is not what players want and nor is it any fun. It is hell boring what you plan to do with this game. Again look at epoch and origins and there you see what people wanna do. Melee fights: Are you kidding me? I just played 2 hours of Standalone and I met a guy in the firestation who had a firefighter axe like me. The first 10-15 strikes we didnt managed to hit each other while being directly in front of each other and moving in circles. Seriously ... If you had any idea about what you are doing then you would implement a system of blocking attacks instead of these crappy little hitboxes that prevent you from hitting and make the fight purely luck based. When I am in front of someone with an axe I am going to 80%+ hit him and not 5-10% as it is now. Increase the hitboxes and make melee attacks blockable instead so that 2 ppl with melee weapons can block each others attack and don't instantly die to a hit. Zombie fights: You can barely hit a zombie with a melee weapon when moving. When you hit it, it doesn't do any damage e.g. when hitting with a crowbar or a hammer. This needs to go. The game is not fun when you die to the first 2 zombies that you see while looting the first 150 houses for barely any loot cause you can barely hit them with a crowbar and if so you need like 10+ hits to kill it and get beaten half dead. The AI of zombies doesn't allow to trick and get rid of them anymore as it was in the old dayz. Slow movement inside buildings was a great thing to have actually. Again: Focus on the fun stuff. Fun stuff in dayz is sitting with 6 guys in a helicopter and flying to the sector B (origins) while knowing there are probably 1-2 other teams arriving there which will end up in a big firefight between AIs vs Group 1 vs Group 2 vs Group 3. Fun stuff is to drive with a silent camo suv close to an opponents base and set up an ambush as you know these guys come back from a mission (epoch) to bring back loot to their base. Fun stuff is to build bases. Fun stuff is to be able to store items and not having to search 150 houses for finding 3 tins of foods, 17 pairs of shoes, 12 pants, 13 hoodies, 7 biker helmets, 12 wool caps, 3 screw drivers, 4 rotten banas and a crowbar and all that crap in like 10 different conditions. I am hell serious about all this.

    I am not really sure about this. Its hard to argue dynamics in this state as key elements are still missing: A fix/nerf to server hopping A more advanced loot economy/slower overall progress A proper day/night cycle (with proper nights that are dark and cannot be cheated away) Vehicles Base buildingMaybe we do need more wilderness, maybe we don't. But I know for sure that we need smarter animals - if they had a line of sight greater than 3m it would help.

    for when vehicles are useable i think it be a good idea to have items spawn in to fix vehicles and make them work , also vehicles that do spawn in are damaged and have random things needed to fix ie , need fuel , needs 1-4 tryes , needs engine , needs new battery , need mechanical repair items spawn at random on map to fix vehicles tryes fuel can empty fuel can battery repair kit fuel can can be filled up at a gas station
  5. Goddamn. Someone needs to make a milsim game where you have modern weapons and vehicles in a large enough map to have some great fights between equally armed combatants.
  6. If player movement starts seeing restriction at some point then this will seem like less of an issue. Currently with each player having the ability to sprint almost infinitely at like 35kph the distances in the game, including wilderness ones become less. I'm assuming that most vehicles when implemented will not be very well suited to going off-road and if they are even less suited to going at high speeds through woods. We'll see more traffic being directed then in more linear fashion between towns, at much higher speed, making the wilderness in essence much larger to a more slow-moving population. I worry more about potential player structures in the future polluting the landscape than I worry about Myshkino's new neighbor or a few more small towns.

    .49 Is not an improvement

    Yeah I'm not really finding this playable personally. I spawn in vybor on our server every time, I am naked, no rags, nothing. Die within 15 minutes - maybe 20 if I get some clothes near the end of the hypothermic stage, but by then it's too late anyhow. On the odd occasion I do live because I got lucky and found decent clothing, I usually get some other glaring bug on server restarts - doors cannot be opened etc.. I don't see how melee was fixed. Still getting hit after zombies are dead too. Going early access you really need to think about marketing and what you're going to provide people to play during the alpha - personally I see DayZ as a perfect example of why not to do it. I can understand the development cycle and everything, but in terms of playability. What good is a zombie apocalypse shooter where the zombies are so bugged ? 40 ppl per server and the single thing that alleviates the boredom and monotony of just running from place to place are the zombies. Sure perhaps the other one is loot (at least until you are kitted up) but the loot has had huge issues too. Get the zombies fixed and you'd fix 50% of the complaints. Loot would be next - if we still have melee issues, people could forgive that kind of thing. Zombies and loot are why we're here in alpha right now. We understand there's no vehicles, no base building, etc.. The glaring bugs in this build just seem to overwhelm any sense of gameplay imo. Take a look at the NPC's in "the forest" alpha, they are 10x better and they have a 4 person team, so please...

    The War on Wilderness - Reclaiming Myshkino

    I feel like I am never in danger of getting lost in the wilderness anymore and I feel like tents and vehicles will be even harder to hide as the wilderness shrinks. I do agree with you on most of your points but here is a possible 2nd point of view: Personally, I try to remind myself that this game is working towards an entirely different set of rules and balances and some changes may shift things one way or another before it's complete. Eventually, if loot in general is much much more rare (central loot economy), and high pop servers tend to have 75+ players at a time, and raw survival becomes more difficult, maybe having more military locations and less wilderness will work out...?

    They already spawned loot long before this update. Isn't it that now crashed vehicles can spawn randomly around the map with loot in them?
  12. I can provide screenshots if needs be to further explain the problem but basically terrain, buildings, vehicles and plants for some reason dont render/load properly like they used to. Most of the time when I get very close to whatever texture isnt loading it fixes but even thats after about 5 seconds. I havent had this issue up until recently and have a setup that is a fair bit above average so I cant work out why its suddenly doing this. None of the other games I play have any graphical/texture issues either. Its hard to describe apart from saying the textures dont load/render but taking a house for example rather than it looking like it should the windows will just be white, the walls and roof are "smoot" (dont know how else to describe it) and like I said the same applies to vehicles, plants, etc, etc. Do I just need to tweak a certain setting in game to fix this or something more in depth? If anyone could help me resolve this then that would be amazing! Thanks.

    I've read something about the fact that they're WORKING on the first vehicles. it's rumored to be the V35, but I don't know the legitimacy of that. I'd expect them to make a bike or something similar first.

    No , if you're referring to the latest stable change log , the "vehicle spawns" refer to broken down vehicles that can spawn in random places like the cop car . we honestly don't even know if they will put that truck in first , they said that's the first one they were working on but they never said it would be released first ... Unless you know something I don't ;) ?!

    Agreed! I know all these COD and BF fan boys want the AUG and SCAR and M60 and 50 cal snipers, but I hope that this is NOT the way DayZ is going. It's rural Russia (or Russia-esque) so having these NATO military guns makes no sense to me. (I know that particular militaries have these guns and that there IS a military presence in Chernarus, but 85% of the place is rural farm land/civilian making this influx of military grade weaponry head scratching for me.) I know the Dev team is hard at work during this build with security (YES! Although I will miss killing these hackers..) and for future vehicles and server stability, but how about introducing more civilian items/weapons in the next updates. IE: 30.06 rifle - bolt or semi auto. .270 or a .243 hunting rifle. Glock 9m. Or a Compound hunting bow . BRING BACK THE Enfield #Dinnerbell. different scopes Not just a "Long Range" but say a 2x or 4x fixed scope that is usable on multiple weapons since most guns have a universal scope mounting bracket on top (.22 and the CR75 carbine both have rails but no options for sights) Bi-Pods BACK on mosins and other sniper rifles! I'm unaware of why they were taken off, maybe someone complained that they were "too accurate" but I hope to see them return so I can hit my 1kilometer shots again. (I understand trying to keep a balanced playing field between people with good computers vs bad computers... but really, I'm scared if this "balance based" system continues it will hinder the potential of what this game could become. I'd like to see the "Half person @ 800 meters" thing go away and do a full render of said person at any and every distance. I feel it would add extensively to the realism, albeit with a drawback to crappy computers.) I know DayZ isn't the game for everyone and it isn't trying to be either which is why I love it so much, so regardless of if my input is used or not I at least threw it out there. Been playing since before you could vault or roll in Vanilla mod and will continue to play until infinity.

    Just my thought ... More weapons(Svd AND steyr aug!) more talk about vehicles , persistence definitely coming to those server hosters that opt-in for it , centralized loot economy almost finished ... This is awesome ... We just need more talk of that "horticulture" that was supposed to come out with .49 experimental :/ ... Oh well we can only hope that we can randomly grow crops on .49 stable !!

    What the Czech? I am excited for vehicles to come when they damn well feel ready lol ! Honestly I'm thinking around thanksgiving we will have them , maybe even as late as December right before the 1 year mark . Inb4 locked or graveyard maybe?
  25. The first vehicles::::::: 1. The RollerSkate = With one roller skate your speed is slightly improved when running but they dont work as good on grass or other rough terrain. People will murder eachother to make a matching pair. 2. The Unicycle = This allows the Day-Z-onite to travel slightly faster from town to town until dev's can make real vehicles. This vehicle requires an air pump after 25 minutes of use, to keep it going. 3. The Skateboard = I mean I know this isn't tony hawk, but skateboards should take up atleast 3 inv slots and allows the user to travel on roads slightly faster, sharper turns than the unicycle, with a chance to fall off if used improperly. Can only break legs when grinding on rails XD. K mon dayz, ill take a half of a skate at this point, just dont make me run so much.
