DayZ Epoch Chernarus Radioactive City (Nobyl) If you enter this town, you will be losing blood every second, the longer you are inside the area, the more blood you will lose, starting from 10 per second to 50 per second. Military Compound (Svetlojarsk) During the outbreak, the military where creating a military compound, for the survivors to be safe in, but the compound got overrun, all the high value loot is still there for you to grab it. You can find this town at Berezino, just follow the road to the end, and you'll fin it. again Copy pasta the vehicles from the mod. Modders runnign cracked private servers already have proven it can be done. no reason a paid team of developers can do the same thing. -
IMHO the only thing that really breaks Epoch is one of its trademark features- the AI trader. If you atleast had to scrounge scrimp and fight your way to the top as a unit with your mates or clan to maintain your motorpool it'd be a fun challenge almost like a road warrio type environment, but they ability to take almost anything you find and convert it to gold via the traders, then into more vehicles and ammo means ANY crew with 5-10 people can easily farm an infinate supply of Bhawks or armed vodniks, etc.

I think they should have some form of cars before bikes personally, although they've said bikes will be the first vehicle. Vehicles work best as a sort of end game, group effort deal. Adding bicycles just for the sake of making individual travel easier is sorta crappy imo, as the map gets small awfully quick with vehicles of any type, and bikes are an awfully selfish form of travel. They also like to compare vehicles to weapons in terms of how they will be modified etc, and considering they started by making the "hardest" weapon (their words) first with the m4, so that it would be easier to implement other weapons why not do the same with vehicles? Any ways, I think we'll see bikes fairly soon, like next 2 months or so. -
FIRSTOFF: i don't care how you play on your server or any other i spose. some ppl really enjoy one thing, some another. if i have ever been for *any* game mechanic it has always been diversity of playstyle. so when read the following, please don't assume i hate helis, vods, w/e your personal pet is, cuz i truly and honestly don't and can say that i have enjoyed a number of these myself. curmudgeon follows: but really i do think it's more than being old and cranky (i hope). in the past i have really enjoyed hitching a ride on a heli, heli drops, vodniks even unarmed can be so much fun. however, im beginning to have my doubts. it seems more and more like the race to endgame in an mmorpg then a survival experience. add in purchasing most weapons and vehicles and it seems to go down a notch further for me. it really struck me today when someone had been apparently camping an airfield (duh), but they announced they were done when they had enough guns to buy their heli and i thought ... is that it? i mean you gotta get the cash first of course, which can be a fair challenge. but once you're there ... what? just fly over all opposition land directly on top of the loot shoot your way thru some zeds or unsuspecting freshies rinse and repeat? just seems like travel has lost all of it's power or cost. sure there's the server with the armored vehicle and it's AA guns ... or w/e and there's the occasional AI threat. all of these depending on the server. i dunno, it seems that flight as a generic game mechanic, not specific to this game, but to any game with an overland travel mechanic, removes much of the player encounter and becomes just an easy way to hop around and grab loot. i get that phatlootz is a big part of this game. it's why so many ppl still play oldschool Diablo -- kill monster grab loot! it is a fun mechanic. but even there you had inventory limits, choices had to be made, things left behind maybe. and it's not just flight, but have you ever ridden in a well armed armored vehicle through the center of zombie central? it's hilarious fun. and at times makes you wonder how the zed could have ever come close to winning. still i kinda wonder where the struggle to survive in that is? maybe, folks are tired of survival as a main game mechanic. i have thought a few times that the evolution for Epoch and other ARMA mods would move more towards an FFA PvP game because frankly a lot of time the zeds are just background noise, esp if you have one of these vehicles. which makes it pricey for someone with few resources to strike, but a no brainer for someone with a blackhawk/vod and enough ammo to fund a small war. okay, again, please dont take any of this as an attack on playstyles. frankly, i hope none of these options go away. i dont want them to, but i am wondering about game mechanics in general and how their presence or absence might impact player experiences.

Vehicles have already been "modded in" there is no exucse why if a few un paid modders (who in most cases have no formal training in the field) can make carbon copy A2 vehicles work dean's team cant- other then them simply "not being a priority". -

Today my group of four IRL mates went on a journey around Trader City Stary to salvage unlocked vehicles and sell them in order to gather enough money to buy ourselves a much needed safe. We had two fully owned cars (we had the keys), one a pink SUV and the other a grey UAZ. The UAZ was the car we used to drive around in, and the SUV was the car we used as storage, back at the place we wanted to build our base. After each successful trade, we brought our measly 2/3 or so gold back to the SUV to ensure that if we died, we would not lose much. This continued for over 7 hours. I went to bed whilst the other 3 stayed up until 3am. The next morning, we Skype'd again, and we still didn't have enough gold to buy a safe. We went on another trip, and to our surprise, an SUV missing 3 wheels - crashed into a tree - was storing 2 briefcases, many medical supplies and a few guns. WE WERE SO HAPPY. Carefully, we drove back to the SUV to dump everything other than the briefcases which we were going to use to buy our safe. All did not go well. Less than 2 kilometers from our base, an armed Vodnick honked its' horn at us. Fuck. We tried zig-zagging, but it was no use; he was shooting. We all scattered out the car in a desperate attempt to salvage whatever we had left with us, but we knew we weren't going to make it. One of my friends - Calvin - and I were trying to retrieve some of the medical supplies from within our car when BANG, it exploded and killed us both. Now only Liam and Micheal remained. Liam had a sniper of some sort, and tried shooting the car, but he was killed shortly after firing the second shot. Our last hope - Micheal - had hidden in the trees. He had a MG36 loaded and ready. The bandits got out of their armed Vodnick, unaware of Micheal. Micheal did his team proud as he took out both bandits without them even knowing were he was. Myself, Calvin and Liam are all cycling back to our base now, and Micheal is buying us a safe as I write this. Suck shit, Bandit ass. -

Ever surfed the web and come across a 404 error page?That's us, we are they behind the curtain...HostMissing We are a starting up community that has left The Dog Pound and decided to start our own server. We are not trying to bad mouth the The Dog Pound server but we would like to run things a bit different. I personally have ran a few dayz server back when it first came out and when my buddies came to me asking me for help i toke on the challenge. After hours of work and much much help from Dami we have created what seems to be a Optimized but Fun server. We are running on a fully dedicated machine with 16 cores and 72 gb ram. Our server frames have been hitting 50-60 fps on a good computer. Now this will change when many more players join but the fps will always be controlled. We ask that you please take a look at our server when you have the time. There is almost always someone from our team online playing. Whether it be looting building, testing new things, or fighting Ai. Alright, I am finally concerned about the standalone

Let's look at the laundry list of issues to compare why this is a new game, not a polished mod. Why are the controls over sensitive? - redone, need optimization from further testing Why is there massive desynce/rubber banding - brand new client server relationship from the architecture, needs optimization and further testing Why is zombie behavior not at 100% - they are redone and need further testing. They are also waiting for other optimization to increase the population Why does collision have issues(zombie wall walk, ladders, etc.) - brand new physics is in the works and will need testing/optimization Why does loot and spawning not suit everyone's need? - redone, not all content has been added, tested or optimized. Respawn and persistence still being worked on. Why is hunting and animals not in game? - being redone Why do vehicles not exist? - being redone Why do we have no base building abilities? - being redone And that's just what I have pulled from the top of my head, I'm sure I'm missing some -

Look in the police cars at police buildings too, open the doors and trunks, look inside all vehicles for that matter. I have found food, magazines and weapons in trunks, bed of pickups and right in the open on the hood of a car even. -

You are correct. It's the next generation. That's why it is not in yet. May I remind you of this beautiful post a young and handsome German once made explaining why there are no vehicles yet and why it's much bigger of a problem than just smacking them in the game, because the models are there anyway? Now, take a step back and remember, what you said initially anyway.

Yes. All they have to do is open up the .txt file where they have the code, type in "fix zombies" and "add vehicles", then release the code into the internet. Then we'll all be be playing a much better game. Why don't they just do that?

It won't be stagnant forever, but it does feel so right now. It seems like a long time since the last update, and this most recent one hasn't actually improved the gameplay experience - if anything, it's made it worse! Until we get hunting, cooking and - especially - persistent storage, I think the game will continue to feel stagnant because there won't be anything fundamentally different or new to actually do in the game from what there is now. At the moment, the only real appeal of the game is the urban tactical combat - in terms of apocalypse survival, there really isn't a game here at all, yet. -Killing zombies is not a satisfying mini-game, because of their glitchy behaviour, the crap melee mechanics and the instant respawning. This has to change, but it seems a long way off right now. -Exploration can be fun, but only for as long as it takes you to get to know the map (for many players, this appeal has long been out-lived by now). -Looting for looting's sake is not fun in itself - much of the kit you find is useless because the mechanics for their intended purpose aren't ready yet. Because of the tactical combat focus of current gameplay balance, player-to-player meetings are inevitably skewed towards hostility - and this exacerbates the frustration of people looking for a more survival/interaction-based experience. Being able to throw objects doesn't change anything - it's useless in itself as a gameplay feature (even when it works properly, which it doesn't currently). Being able to shoot bows and arrows and crossbows doesn't change anything - it's just another weapon to do the same things with as before. Being able to build fires for cooking won't change anything on its own, either - it provides a bit of variation and distraction, but doesn't change how you look after your character. Food is food, and it's plentiful already; cooking doesn't provide any benefits over and above eating stuff cold. I think the game will continue to feel a bit stagnant until we get the really juicy features like hunting, vehicles and persistent storage. Being able to set up "home" - and to defend it - will give you a reason for the PvP beyond "it's fun" and "there's nothing else to do". Building and maintaining a vehicle will give players a project to work on, as will barricading and base-building. Hunting - if done well - might prove to be a viable mini-game; zombie-killing might even evolve into that, too. Having deeper and more complex health/injury mechanics will force on players a change of focus in terms of what they can and can't do with regularity. The issue is not what the game is now: the issue is whether DayZ can keep pace - and therefore media coverage and player interest - with the emergent competitors. If it gets left behind in terms of player numbers DayZ will die, regardless of anyone's good intentions. -

Yea they havent promised anything, In fact the only thing they have promised is that the alpha will be buggy and broken (as expected) but certain types choose to ignore that fact. The dev team set an ETA and when it doesnt happen people complain that they promised... The road map for example is a rough plan of what's to come its not the devs saying we promise this will be done by Q3, but some people will see it like that because of a lack of knowledge on game development. This isnt really aimed at any individual but the amount of entitled ass hats that reply to updates and tweets with "WHERES VEHICLES" or "FIX YOUR GAME" are the ones that need to calm down.

I think a loot rate drop could be fine if the helicopter crashes are added back in - maybe ambushed convoys or wrecked military vehicles, even supply drops randomly found throughout Chenarus. Just to make the loot dispersion a bit less predictable and centric about the tents and airfields.

The majority of the listed vehicles sounds to be already in the mod. I also think that 70% of them do not belong, I support on a lot of civilian vehicles but no exotic ones. I can also support on a military helicopter, the huey from the mod wasn't that bad in my opinion, in terms of it being 'OP' (Never got to see/fly one though, lol)

I feel like more is less in this case and I'd enjoy having a limited set of civilian vehicles that we can repair and modify in many ways a whole lot more enjoyable than having like... a multi-million dollar main battle tank we cannot repair, supply or even drive. Because it's like... you introduce armored vehicles, you logically need a way to fight them. Then we introduce RPGs, anti-tank guns and rifles and it starts to go downhill very very fast.
