Yep! That's part of the risk that we all have to live with in a game where vehicles are persistent. Camouflage netting and lockable structures would work wonders in adding a layer of protection. Not to mention the always fun game of hiding your vehicle anyhow.

It's a video game, stop trying to turn it into an ULTRA realistic game were you have to manually fucking blink your eyes and dig for oil just to keep a car in maintenance. Vehicles are the best thing to happen to a player in Dayz, it's not a fun experience running 10k so don't even dare try and say it is.

Q4 will be occurring this summer the time where SIMPLE vehicles would have already been implemented and they would be working on complex ones.

They're adding new ways of interacting with the environment tbh, and making vehicles too easy to obtain and maintain will simply devalue them. You gotta remember that the map isn't exactly massive, especially if you know it.

Vehicles should be a luxury, a luxury that's the result of the expenditure of time/resources/risk. For the most part, we should be walking. The frequency of use, in vehicles, should be somewhere below that of the mod. Overall, they need to be much rarer in the first place. And once they're found, they should require SPECIFIC repair parts/actions (i.e. no generic "tires" fitting on everything from a Ural to a bicycle). As for modifications, I think there are two areas that need to be looked into. One, is weaponry. The other is retrofitted armor.

I'd just like to see predominantly civilian class vehicles, unarmoured. Possibly the option to add improvised armour would be interesting. I'm interested in a post-apocalyptic game, not what amounts to a civil war + zombies where players look to either raid military installations or buy arms etc. from gun runners. I don't think bicycles etc. need additional storage because unless they don't plan to implement larger vehicles, there will be little need for cars since people looking to stock their bases will use bikes & spare backpacks since they will be fast enough to get around the map, silent, and harder to spot/tail than a car or truck.

Vehicles are unimportant really. Most of the games travel should be done by foot. Even when the game is completed.

I think vehicles need to come out sooner rather than later. Walking around the entire map is getting a bit tiresome. I'm betting that's why people stay on the coast so much; if you walk 10 minutes inland your chances of seeing other players drops fast.

I just want a bit more than a few GAZ and other russian vehicles this time around. I'd like to see less PoS cars

I'm sure Bicycles might be out before the end of this year, but I was implying that vehicles like an Off-Road would most likely be out by next year.

A YEAR.. are you fkn kidding me ? If that's the case then Dead you need to get something in ASAP as a place holder so people can travel around faster while you work on the proper implementation, god having no vehicles of any type is one of the major things its missing at the moment.

Hey guys, I thought I'd make a topic about the future of DayZ, more specifically; 'Vehicles'. Now, I know these won't be released for another year or so just yet, but I'm just curious as to what you guys would like to see within the vehicular aspect of the game. Personally, I would like to see the ability to mount a Backpack to the front or back of an ATV to carry storage, rather than fitting it randomly in the engine or fuel pipes like in DayZ Mod. Similarly, I would also like to see the ability to mount backpacks to Bicycles (However you should be unable to mount Mountain Backpacks on Bicycles for obvious reasons. The same applies for motorcycles if they make their way into DayZ SA too. Basically, this topic was made for you guys to discuss what sort of aspects would you like to see concerning vehicles. An example is obviously as shown above. Discuss ;D

I'm in favor of side chat, as an option. Some people see it as not immersive, but that's never a problem I've had. Hell, the most immersive, memorable experiences I've had in DayZ come from the mod, despite side chat, and prevalent vehicles, and so on. SA hasn't left me with any truly lasting memories at all. And that worries me. Yes, it's still early on, but I could say the same about the mod, early on despite the many Micky-mouse workarounds of the mod, the chunkiness and bugs, the hackers, etc, it consistently provided immersive experiences that sucked me in. But immersion =/= realism, and we shouldn't conflate the two.

We just put up a fresh Vanilla Dayz 1.8.1 server! Private hive. 1st and 3rd person views. This is totally stock no extra mods. SideChat is on. Default vehicle spawns no 999+ vehicles crap. Default starting gear. 40 slot server we can also put up the player count if needed. Ruining off a dedicated server has excellent performance also the full arma 2 (and dayz) install is sat on a ram disk for the extra boost Server will be up for the foreseeable future even is the player count is very low as we enjoy playing Vanilla form time to time and there is not cost involved in keeping this up. Vehicles will be implanted in the 3rd and 4th quarter as discussed in the road map. As for their rareness, it has been said the Dean Hall wants to make cars common, but however acquiring fuel itself will be rare.

Lapua, although both are very powerful (one shot kills on players) the lapua is more quiet and accurate while the m107 is much more loud but very effective against vehicles, the lapua being the 'wolf' and the m107 being the 'bear'

There was a bit of confusion for a bit, crosshairs are removed properly now. You were banned from our server for camping the trader and after having your friend banned you continued and broke the rules, again. After slandering us and saying we are abusive admins (also making up the deleting chopper bit, we can't delete moving vehicles/objects/players) we banned you and your friends due to repetitive offences on multiple rules -
Are you sure they aren't just adding the superspeed and stamina due to not having vehicles implemented yet? Perhaps they will address this after better mobility is offered.

Well they did say choppers were going to take insane amounts of pieces to create so i assume there vehicles are going to be very hard to put together minus the bike which will take less resources to repair and fix up. -
Overpoch is basically just mix of the best aspects of overwatch and epoch - Overwatch guns and vehicles and Epoch base building.

First vehicle there putting out is the Bicycle and to be honest minus the storage space its going to be one of the best overall vehicles in game when you dont want everyone around you being able to know your there. Its very fast both on and offroad and you can go up steep inclines allot better with it.
