Oh and while your testing you're getting yourselves some nice vehicles and weapons ? Great! Things get tested anyway, no need to lock anything, especially not in a mod where locking servers is clearly frowned upon. (for obvious reasons - its cheating) Not to mention that there was not even a single word of warning before the restart happend. It sure is nice that you host that server, but you seem to forget that this server shares a databaseconnection with all other servers and hence has to play by the rules, just like all other servers! -

Yup, server locked. We are testing out persistence of vehicles and multi-tents on 1.5.6 for about 2 hours. Not happy ? Too bad bro, we are paying and furnishing you a place to play DayZ FOR FREE without anything in exchange, the server was accessible / up and running for the entire day, now we're locking it for 2 hours. They're plenty of servers out there, go play on them, and stop your dramas. Won't lead to anything. -
Redhawk here. Recently because of the new update the vehicles on some servers have come back after a long, mysterious disappearance from the map after a server restart JUST after the 1.5.4 update (Don't know if it was just my home server, Dallas 1, or maybe it happend on other servers) and the vehicles magically vanished into thin air. After 1.5.5 though they came back and we got a chopper working in Cherno and flew off, did shit with it and then hid it in the forest. After we logged back on it came to our surprise that it was gone, once more along with all the other cars in the server. wasup widdat?

I think vehicles would make this a little less of an issue as we wouldn't all be made to feel like we need to hike an hour down the coast. Are those planned in the near future? Awesome mod, btw.

You need to open your mind. Most of the gameplay suggestions here are already possible in the current gamestate. This mod provides all you need for such things that you suggest(except the armored vehicles). Why waste time to implement such things and make them an inescapable aspect of the game. What I like in this Mod is that all the stuff you do is your choice. If you want to be in a paramilitary group just found one and set youself the goal to defend other friendly survivors from all the evil in chernarus. You just have to search for some members and weapons on your own and thats no argument for an pre designed, well equiped über squad like this. -

There is a problem with current update, vehicles disappear after server restart. Just wait until next update before doing anything.

Has anyone seen any vehicles at all since the patch? We've been searching all over and asking haven't seen or heard anyone spotting a single vehicle. Looks like they are all gone. As usual it's the most fun things that get screwed up... oh well we'll have to wait, and while waiting we'll go murder people in Cherno or Electro or raid and kill someone at NW airfield, that seems to be the only way to have fun atm. Without persistant world there is no point in setting up camps and search for vehicles, everything dissapears after the next restart anyway.

A word of warning with regards to vehicles, rocket has moved the spawn points to "mix things up a bit" so when they are added and working again you will have to find there new spawn positions.

we have been looking for any vehicles for 2 days now havent seen any, checked 7 spawn points we knew, then thought rocket might have changed the spawn locations, checked most west and south towns, barns, warehouses... and havent even seen or heard anyone have a single one. Seems they have all disappeared cause we had 3 and after restart it would be impossible that people took and hid them all. -
Vehicles leave tracks, shouldnt soldiers do it aswell? In full support of this ofcourse, another nice twist.

Seconding what wolfgang said. I've not seen anybody label being in Cherno/Elektro as 'hardcore pro gaming'. Cherno and Elektro are however, like every other area in the map - PVP Zones. I personally keep my Humanity as low as possible due to the various bugs that have been in place when it comes to switching models (these may well now be fixed). I also vastly prefer the Bandit skin over that of the Survivors. In order to help do this, I'll make a run through a Major City if I'm in an area. Might even stay an hour or so. If you are in that City when I arrive, and I see you - I'll shoot at you. You are a potential threat, and I'll do whatever is within my power in order to ensure that - in this zombie survival game, I survive. :dodgy: I'm a fairly team orientated player, who spends a lot of time helping the =FS= and -10 teams to complete their objectives, this means that I can end up going for days without killing anybody - instead sneaking around deserted towns or cities finding specific parts for vehicles, or hauling them up the map if our newer members find them. If you aren't in our group, on teamspeak or mumble - and I run into you, no matter whether it's up North, down South, at an Airfield, in a Field - or even in one of the Major Coastal cities. You will get shot at.

You should consider these> (actually some of next ideas maybe were posted before) 1. Crate-stash, removable, lootable, could be carried by man, something like backpack. (persistent in world after disconnecting). 2. Food locations/non perishable or wild/ -mushrooms, forrest fruits, vegetables/fruits-orchards/gardens/cropfields, fish-lakes or sea(fishinghook), MRE, Beef jerky-dehydrated/smoked meat,sausages, flour for cooking, chicken eggs, bee hives. 3. Water locations-raindrop capturing(empty bottles,cans,bucket,drums-can to be find especially in villages), village/compound wells, cistern trucks-firestations. 4. Colectable firewood. 5. Military/humanitary aid dropouts? (food,fuel,) 6. Toolbox for fixing stuff? Fuel canisters for vehicles? 7. Lantern? Crowbar,fireaxe,kicks,gunshots for opening locked doors? 8. Wild animals-wolfes attacking people? 9. Help/escape strategy? 10. Emergency radio broadcast? (radio station+car battery) 11. Findable/changeable military camo clothes? Vest for increasing carrying capacity? 12. Civilian and military bulletproof vest? (affecting health only) 13. Weight capacity/limitation? 14. Zombie/infected free safezones? Wirefences,fortification? 15. NCP hideouts? No-weapons zones. Military secured perimeters with orders to shoot survivors on sight,with supreme firepower? 16. Small animal traps? 17. Camonet, could be build in camp area? 18. Portable gas generator for recharging electric devices(radios,gps,flashlights) 19. Barricades,road blocks,executions,traffic jamms,mass graves,hanged people,destruction,burning houses/factories, depressing world stuff. 20. Repairable vehicles,tyres (only in some cases, not all of them) 21. Desease and antibiotics? 22. Flint-firestarter 23. Deadfast name recognition system(addon)-its showing names on close-5m or so range. 24. Guard/attack dog script 25. Wandering infected in random areas-woods too(light,noise attracts them) 26. Human bones. 27. Zombies can throw you off the bike/motobike. 28. Throwable rock/stone attracts zombies. 29. Starting without handgun? Already sugested by somebody> -Molotov -Walkie talkie (currently you can hear whole chernarus) -Vehicles persistent in camp area(already there i think) -Bicycles (maybe they are already there) -Flashlights/batteries,headlamps -Melee, low efficiency on dead (crowbar,axe,pipe,weaponbutt,knive etc.) -Bolts stacking (boltbag) -Writebook-journal for notes. Were all vehicles deleted again, or are they just disappearing/super rare? Been checking every nook and cranny since yesterday when the uaz disappeared and haven't seen another one throughout most of the towns.

We also lost our vehicles. It was a pain to get them and I would say they were WELL hidden and all were missing one tire which we had in our backpack. So they would at least have needed an own vehicle to get there with so many tires in one night.

I aimed down the sight and tried to shoot a boar, and got a *click*. Apparently I need rockets - but the AT4 is a single-use rocket launcher. Ive never seen MLAW rockets anywhere but in vehicles, and that was a bug... :( So either a used AT4 spawned, or it's reusable in this game and needs the holy-grail of ammunition. -
TL;DR : cargo, sleep to survive, select your skins for preferable looks, savior system for true hostile/friendly determination bases for awesomeness and rally points + protection, cargo for moving objects and placing them into vehicles for transport this game needs base building, cargo system (ability to store items into vehicles, move objects around and place, etc.) maybe a sleep system, gota have sleep to survive As for the bandit system, i think humanity should deduct by kills rather than damage inflicted on fellow survivors. And everyone gets 1 kill b4 the 2nd turns them into a bandit. Once that kill is used up, no matter if you go from bandit and back to survivor in your lifespan, you cant have that 1 free kill unless you get killed first. OR since the game engine can verify who killed who, and which projectile hits who, maybe a code or something could be made so that if someone shoots at you, your humanity goes up, shooter goes down. if you manage to kill your attacker, this will be self defense, and the points you gained will be refuned. If someone else saves you on the other hand (survivor) the points you lost goes to the savior. As for skins, there should be a variety of bandit AND survivor skins. Since apparently rocket has gotten the skin transition to work perfect, maybe he can make like a model/skin selection hud. Bandits being any opfor/hostile uniform, survivor can be civilian skins to blufor uniforms like marines or army (maybe others like navy or airforce if theres a model/skin pack or something) Would be nice to see some variety rather than seeing everyone wearing private military uniforms. P.S. The textures are really bad with the PMC models, not everyone will buy the full versions of BAF or PMC, so vanilla skins or OA skins would be nice ): i like high res skins/models :/ AND FINALLY, SLEEP. Ability to sleep to replish stamina and blood, also slow down the hunger/thirst process. While in sleep you cannot change weapons or do anything basically, and moving will cancel sleep. Logging off should put your character in a sleep state in the data base, so when your offline, your gettin dat rest :) THIS ALSO ALLOWS everyone to play in servers :) Lets say no where is safe for you and you need sleep or you will die, only way is to log off. This allows other players to join the server (since servers are mostly full 24/7 cuz DAYZ IS SO AWESOME) forgot base building build bases somewhere in the inland areas for safety and storage. maybe that dynamic bases somewhere in the forums where theres a door and you can enter your base thats like 100km up into the sky but its nice and safe (if you havent heard of it, look on the suggestions for dynamic shelter or something) AND ADD PASSWORD PROTECTION That would make dynamic shelters perfect but another way for base building is to scavenge for materials like barricades and bunkers. Then vehicles come into play where you can store the objects into vehicles to move them place to place, (If you played dynamic zombie sandbox modified by TAW with cargo system, youll know what i mean.)

Rocket mentioned in the announcement thread that vehicles are very fucked right now. I think we can expect another full reset on the vehicles within the next patch or two.

Yeah, I don't know what's wrong with the vehicles. We got a hold of that chopper from you fuckers (Haha, get some) and hid it somewhere on the map, but by this morning it was gone along with the other vehicles we found. The fuck's going on?

Yep the vehicles were bugged, Found a huey, all green (apart from some windows) and a UAZ (all green) and a massive group of people, had a great couple of hours buzzing around everywhere, untill the server restarted :-(

Incase you need it, yeah confirming vehicles are still bugged to some extent. It did not stay in place while i slept. Also, i hid the vehicle way out in the middle of no where, near the edge of the map; will being this far out effect anything?...besides me shooting myself irl when i need to walk 25km while low on food.

Vehicles had an ... errr... problem. But tents appear to be fine. So do NOT trust vehicles for the moment. But keep testing the tents.

what are you going to do with it??? There are no armored vehicles to destroy and you cant carry the backpack while you have it, a rock is more useful than that. -
Yo rocket, good news, the tents seems now to work fine. 1. Got a tent 2. Place the tent 3. Place shit in the tent 4. Try the Save %1 thing 5. Clean restart EU7 server ( 40 players were angry about that ) 6. Stuff inside still at the same place, no vanish 7. Profit ! So tents seems to work now. Congrats. People on the server are confirming that vehicles don't save though. Even after a " Save %1 " they still vanish after a server restart. Still, tents are now working and this is great.
