I like the idea but im going to suggest a mod of your idea ander. Place them at military camps as scenery (non player usable). To prevent people server hopping straight in to say...the barracks at NWA and the military camp at stary. The idea of lugging it around taking up precious loot space means people with vehicles are the only ones likely to use them. -
to be fair, the nervous joy you get from finding someone's camp is far more fun than you could have from going to co-ords given by someone on a forum. fair play to OP for taking them down again though. and i totally agree that hoarding vehicles is fine, for the same reason of it being amazing fun to come across a fully fixed up 4x4 in the woods somewhere!

Remove vehicles, and I'm cool with this. They're called anti-materiel rifles for a reason.

If the spam kicking thing is true, then they obviously deserve to get blacklisted. However I don't see why an Admin/Owner of a server should be less inclined to shoot on sight because they run the server. They are players just like you and should be treated like you would any other player (they're just paying the bill). When you run a DayZ server, you're providing slots, that's it. You don't get special abilities to do squat. You get basic functionality to help moderate where required. The idea is you're helping the project while having somewhere guaranteed to call home (when I say guaranteed to call home, I mean if you host a server, you're not going to be losing your tents next week or w/e when the owner doesn't want to pay anymore). I run 3 servers, but I am just a normal player. I kill on sight where I see necessary. It's part of the game. Owner/Admin or not. If you're still not getting the picture, the idea is that Admins play like normal. You aren't suddenly special for it. If the spam kicking is true, you could of helped your case a lot by getting some screenshots. You may not of wanted this to go any further, but if this shit had happened to you, it's better to do whatever you can to help prevent it in the future, so those Admins don't get the chance to abuse the power they've got against other players. Is that not the idea behind reporting it? Admins can't teleport vehicles. If they restarted the server then the vehicles warped back because that's the last position they were saved by the server in. The server doesn't update players, vehicles, or tents every 0.1 seconds, it's more on the par of 30 - 120 seconds if not more sometimes. I also highly doubt they have aim bots either, just because they shot the wheels out while you were driving. I accidentally shot my car while putting fuel in before and the wheels blew up (I shot the god dam windscreen), so to be honest they could of shot anywhere. It's buggy. To add to this, if you were desynced like Vehicles tend to get, it would of made it even easier to shoot out the wheels as you were desynced sliding in a straight line off the road.

Player controlling the object would surely know if you accidently logged out and could temporarily turn it off. :) Controlling shutoff behaviour would need to be balanced. For example if everyone loses connection, or nobody inside the radius it should turn off. A fireplace will disappear when the player who placed it logout. The portable radiotower would be as it implies. Portable, players could lug them around and place where they want to establish a defensive perimeter. They'd be group of 2+ to viably carry around the radiomast + generator and still have room for other gear. Unless moved in vehicles. -
UAZ and Military Offroaders are two different vehicles. People are reporting that UAZs have not vanished, just the Offroaders.

I've encountered enough, but stayed hidden. They have spawned BM-21 rocket launcher vehicles etc.. It's insane. -
I'm all in for the big wipeout! it would help in balancing the game now since alot of players have hoarded vehicles and superweapons.

1. Fix the Zombie aggro 2. Add more vehicles like helicopters 3. Prevent player disconnecting 4. Do a complete database reset 5. ??? 6. Profit!

squad.xml (Unique Squad logos) allowed?

Hey Ram. Funny that I find you here. :) I got our squad logo to work (shows up when you press P and scroll to a member in the list) but It wasn't showing up on a car or ATV. I'll hop on your TS. Which vehicles does the logo show up on? Do you have to be driving or just a passenger? -
If I only I had vehicles :( If they take them and hide them in a new place then cool, but im interested to know the location that the big hoarders keep them :P

He might have removed it on purpose, since is requires ALOT more damage to its hull before takeing serious damage, compared to the other vehicles in Dayz -
Sorry if this double posts but editing my post doesn't seem to work?? ps @ FrostDMG We didn't have other camps, that was our only camp, there were a few other camps around us that we've been watching but never anything good really. So what you raided was our camp the others aren't, of course you don't have to believe me but I honestly can't think of a reason for us to make it up. If you find a vehicle of course you are gonna keep it, it makes the game quicker and easier. If we were too quick getting the vehicles before everyone else then that is a shame but with 30 odd players it made our lives easier and more fun. Everything was ON MAP and i challenge anyone to say they would do something different when they find a car. You aren't gonna find it drive it around and then before you log out put it back in Elektro for everyone to use are you?

What do you think about non-hive servers?

Not all of them, the main problem with a lot of none hive servers atm is that they dont enable battle eye for anti cheats and running a cracked arma2 server that allows players to join with pirated arma aka they hack even more as they dont have anythign to loose. We are playing on DayZ EU NOHOP server that is running proper server/ with battleye on and even some aditional protection that even official server's dont have. All cheaters are perm banned and admins also check logs of duping attempts and ban all players abusing it. ( cheating wise duping is one of the major consirns on official dayz servers .. there is a reason how some always allt he best equipmenet) VEHICLES DIFFERENCE COMPARED TO OFFICIAL SERVER When new vehicle is spanwed its repaired but without fuel so jerry cans are quite in demand. (story wise when there was infection outbreak people left cars when they were out of gas ), when vehicle is destroyed (100% damage ) it will be ALWAYS respawned on defualt location. All old peddalign/foot bikes are automaticly fully repaired and fuled on each server restart(kind of stupid that peddalign bikes have fuel) The vehicles that are parked outside of the map are destroyed and respawned . Server makes sure that on each restart: 1. all vehicles are spawned ( around 60 ) 2. destroyed vehicles are respawned at starting positions 3. bikes are fixed and fueld 4. vehicles parked outside of map destroyed and respawned 5. all vehicles that are not being used for 7 days get destroyed and respawned Other clean up on server restart 1. all tents where owner is dead for more then 3 days are destroyed ( if the owner respawn aka have alive character it does not apply) 2. empty tents are removed after 7 days 3. Barbwire older then 3 days is removed 4. Sandbags and tank traps older then 7 days are removed. Atm server still runns 1.7.1.5 / 94444 and probably it will be updated to 1.7.2 today ( especially if hotfix is released for official version.) Server site: http://www.PeVePe.net/dayz p.s. Just so you know, that camp wasn't off map at all, it was within the map limits so there's nothing wrong with that. We didn't store anything off map, those of you who saw the co ords in the original post can see very clearly that this was the case. So it was easy(ish) for anyone to find and fair game for absolutely anyone on the server. The vehicles stored there were found fairly and fixed up fairly and we moved them fairly, again I don't think there is anything wrong with that. We were using them as intended and we took the time and effort to get them where they were. If someone comes on the server and can't find a vehicle that is unfortunate but we were using them a lot and having a great time with them so how is that lame? People can moan all they want about our camp its travelled with us over a few servers and we have a lot of regular players who contribute to the camp. We had a lot of items yes but we've spent a lot of time building it up. I'm not bitter that it's been raided, im just sad I wasn't around to join in the fight for it! I'm actually glad someone has found it so we can move around again. I hope you're intending to stay on the server so we can play the revenge game? :D snipes

Yep, the new patch can cause you to lose some of your stuff. It has also been reported by people that they lost some or all off their vehicles. Generally though if you put stuff into a tent or vehicle you will need to click save in the roll menu when you are facing it to save items stored inside. On a side note, vehicles and tents will not travel with you to other servers!

Share some tips for those of us who are new to Arma and DayZ

Depends what you call good gear. From scratch getting a Winchester and a pistol with a decent backpack and a few items is pretty easy. From scratch getting an AS50, M4 CCO SD, NVGs, Rangefinder, Coyote backpack, M9SD, along with the medical and food supplies needed to survive on your own is not easy. Especially if you are trying to do it solo with no vehicle. In fact it can be quite time consuming and frustrating. Keep in mind there are also tons of videos out there showing people that start with nothing. A camp is basically a place where you are storing things when you aren't there. This can either be a vehicle or a tent, or both, and sometimes many of both. Benefits wise it gives you a place to store items you might not want to take with you, but don't just want to drop on the ground. Say for example it is night time and you have NVGs with an AS50 in your backpack. You are probably going to want to take a DMR instead since it can be used with NVGs, but by no means do you want to just throw the AS50 on the ground. Tents and vehicles give you the option to take what you need, when you need it, and not risk taking certain things when you don't need it. Open up your map. Move your mouse over the mark on the map and press your del key. -
these guys are so bad, they reset the server and teleported out vehicles back about 5 km and when we got there they where shooting at us with snipers, get perfect shots on our wheels while we where moving at 40mph.... aim bot...

No need to keep repeating the zombies standing still, or framerate drops after you've been logged in for a while. These are known issues (partially on purpose): Zombies stand at some times, Zombies dont despawn, Items dont despawn. This has the impact of allowing us to catch issues with how client handles a lot of items/zombies. We'll improve on this before releasing real patch. The special skins still are borked upon login (we'll fix this too). Items are old on this server so that's why you'll see already placed fences etc. Vehicles does save. This is an actual server that is just converted to 1.7.2.1. Sidechat is enabled for easier debugging (so people can talk). It will probably not be enabled on other servers yet ;) -
Balance issues here. Also I don't think tin cans can be used to repair vehicles ;) Generally I like crafting, the game has already started down that road. I believe Rocket has already stated molotovs were planned as well.

Question: - will tents and vehicles retrieved in your server remain after the EXPERIMENTAL 1.7.2.1 testing? -
Me and a friend tested this. The DayZ 1.7.2 update has ruined Military offroads. We switched the server off for the night after saving all our vehicles. Waited 5 minutes before switching it off. Came back on the next day, after updating to 1.7.2, MOR had gone but all our other vehicles stayed. Lost a big load of medical supplies and general supplies.
