  1. Im having the exact same issue ....exact.. really annoying since the server im trying to join has all my tents and vehicles...
  2. Epsilon 349

    "saved/Unsaved" needs to come back!!!

YES SERIOUSLY. why was this ever removed, it's more than vital to how you play the game. i always have to sit in a bush for a few minutes before aborting just to make sure the stuff i took from my tent or vehicles will be there when i come back.
  3. I am experiencing similiar problems, sometimes when I login I either die instantly and respawn with nothing in debug plains just to get killed by a sniper there or just drop unconscious for 5 whole minutes when I login, furthermore barbed Wire/Tank Traps need to be looked at again, they produce graphical artifacts from certain angles and are used JUST to grief, I have yet to see them being used as a Fortification of some sort. On top of that, deathmatch is really getting out of hand, so is the spawncamping near the coast. Vehicles on servers are almost never there because a Group/Clan takes "all" of them to hide them safely away. Zombies still lag hardcore on almost every server I play on and sometimes hit you or even worse, K.O. seconds after their death still. The Entrance of the ATC tower is still extremely ficklish to get in (sometimes a broken bone seems to be a must, the rubble ist just too big for the entrance). Now, a lot of these things are done by the Community but I'd still like to see some progress towards getting the zombies right and the "fortifications" looked after, because travelling 10km just to find completely barricaded barracks with no player on the server is a total rage inducer. Still a great game imho, just stay the hell away from other survivors if you're in love with your beans.

    WTF Is the point now?

If everybody jumped off a cliff, would you? Though, I agree, hacking is out of control at the moment. Priceless and I have lost vehicles and our lives to hackers before. However it is really not hard to gear up, especially if you kill somebody with gear. I guess not everybody has that kind of luck. Priceless is our murdering son of a bandit, and I'm pretty good at finding people's camps. (It's rather boring, but I'm patient...) Basically, dieing is part of the game anyway. I'm not really a rage-quitter kinda person. Maybe once in a blue moon. We're pretty well equipped in Crashed Chopper and Barracks gear. http://www.youtube.com/user/kyriel
  5. As far as I can tell, as long as there are ANY scripts in the game, or even an accessable console... there will be hackers why are scripts even allowed at all? why is the console even able to be opened by non admins? I know many people who have just quit due to hackers ruining the fun that they have spent days/weeks building up to... when you have vehicles hidden in the woods, and watch someone with no gear port to you, unkillable, and kill your whole team with an axe as they all backpedal while unloading on him, they lose all the fun factor and usually quit afterwards.. whats the point of building a character up, to just lose it to some moron whos life is so sad that ruining the game is somehow fun for them? you have built up a decent population, but its not a steady population, as people just quit after a few days/weeks after they get their fun ruined by some 4chan scrub who thinks ruining others fun gives him retribution for his last death. there are always more people coming to play, simply because they dont know "how it is" can we get an official statement on the scripts that are rampantly being used in this game? battleeye doesnt really work, and ignoring the problem isnt going to fix it, and where is the motivation to not do it yourself if there is no real penalty, and the rewards are so great? my solution : remove the console as real players dont need ANY scripts to play this game. if they cannot access the console, the problem is solved. right?
  6. 2 players looking for a small to medium Group of Clan to join as we are starting to get bored of running around just the two of us or solo. I've been playing for around about 5 weeks and my mate has been playing for much longer. What we have: Reasonably good gear Good knowledge of the map Good knowledge of DayZ/ArmA 2 Skype but can download any voip software Both over 21 (not always mature though :P) Not too attached to our gear Loyalty, we aren't going to kill you for your gear or vehicles Experience with unfriendly players, raiding camps, making camps and fixing vehicles I am pretty confident with a sniper though just as happy running around buildings with my M4 Both based in the UK What we are looking for: English speaking Preferably playing on a 3DP server An active Group or Clan playing regularly between 2200-0600 GMT (2100-0500 UTC) though we do play afternoons often. No Cheaters Loyalty, don't want stabbed in the back as soon as we find something shiny, we offer you the same Good sense of humour, want to enjoy playing as a group equally not have someone trying to give me orders every 5 minutes If you have a Group/Clan looking for a couple more competent players PM me, message here or my Skype is Lickaholic, feel free to ask any questions you have.

Get rid of all the sniper rifles

I'm game with removing the sniper rifles. As long as we're removing vehicles too.
  8. I have the Steam version of Arma 2 and OA on Windows 7. My problem is that after using the Sixupdater to play DayZ now, which works fine, I can no longer play normally OA or CO when I launch the game through Steam. When I do, everything seems to work ok until I load a mission. When that happens, I get an error message saying something like: "No entry 'bin\config.bin/CfgVehicles/citizen.scope'." but it's different depending on the map I load. Once the map is loaded, the American Army showcase for example, all the vehicles are missing except the ATV and motercycle, and my character has no gun, and there is only one NPC. In other maps, it seems like my character is missing so instead of controlling an avatar, I get an overhead view of the map and that's it.
  9. Ok, i admit i am FLYING an helicopter but i have nothing to do with the " spawning " of those vehicles, i was looting Stary sobor when i saw UH-1H helicopter on the field and it had engine destroyed ( some kind of crash landing i assume ) i repaired it and started flying. I havent spotted any fires but i have seen A-10 warthogs also, so there was deffinetly an hacker in the server. Please dont accuse me from something i havent done.
  10. So what you are saying is, after I get all the gear and vehicles I can, the only thing I am left to do is sit in the woods and eat and drink once every 2 hours? No thanks. Why is it bad: It's adding some form of karma to the game and i hate karma, but at the same time it only affect the time between two lives. It is, in essence some form of punishment. It lack realism, the effect is realistic (fear of death, hesitation to kill) but it's not the best "cause". Bandit system (karma system) was removed because it wasn't working how it was intended to work. They will not punish peoples playing styles. Removing realism from a military sim is a bad road to start going down. Edit: Guy shoots at me because he wants my gear. He misses and I shoot back and kill him. Now if I get killed I have to wait 5 minutes to respawn? That isn't very logical.
  11. For me, endgame has two different phases; loot acquisition and PvP. If you don't like to PvP, you can attempt to hoard valuable items and vehicles. Alternatively you can try to do nice things for people, it's just a lot more difficult than it is to kill them.
  12. Full server name - DE 184 (v1.7.2.3/Beta 95054) [Regular][GMT 0] dayzmod.com - Hosted By -FR-SkynetTeam - | dayzhosting.com First of all, I apologise if this is in the wrong thread, couldn't really find anything related to reporting servers. The reason I'm reporting this server is because they've been locking and passwording the server several times for extended periods of time. I wouldn't of been suspicious about this but me and my friend found a UAZ and a Tractor, which we spent about 2/3 hours repairing. I then went off for about 4-5 hours along with my friend after we hid the vehicles (At the time the server only had about 6-17 players). When I came back in the early hours of the morning I found the server was locked and had a password, but there was 3/4 people still ingame. I wasn't really timing but a few hours must of passed and then we found that our vehicles were taken even though we saved them, so I believe that the admins are is locking it and combing the north for peoples camps and vehicles. This evening I tried to get on again but it was locked, so I began taking pictures for proof in order to report them. Also, half way through it the server re-opened and people began joining but straight away we got kicked by an admin called "Housbak". Had to use TinyPic as the screenshots are too big to upload >_> Also, I don't really know how to take a screenshot ingame. --Edit-- I took pictures every 5 minutes but to prevent causing a massive tl;drThread I've only picked 3.

    Suggestion: Armored Vehicle

I don't see why not. It's a military zone anyway.... frankly I'm surprised at the lack of more armoured vehicles, derelict or otherwise. Nice way to be a total jerk. ~Sol

I completely agree. Full tent/vehicle wipe and either fix the issue promptly or disable tents/vehicles until it is fixed.

    US 207 got Pwned! =/

I am not sure if it was a hacker, or simply just a group that found our tents but on US 207 I woke up today to find all 8 of our group's tents were flattened, 2/3 vehicles were stolen (Not our big-ass bus). Now to be honest, I am not QQing about this, as its part of the game however I'd like whoever did this to own up to it and gloat as raiding the tents was fine but to flatten them was a bit harsh =/ Well done to whoever found it, however if you're a wallhacker YOU SUCK! lol. Much love, Much homo, Delta.

    Hack Fest.

My last few deaths: 1) Five days ago. A man teleports into the NE airfield hangar behind me, playing "Hip to be Square" over ingame voicecoms, and wielding a hatchet. He is wearing Rocket's custom skin (woodland camo and a red beret), and is completely invulnerable to bullets. He kills both me and my buddy with his hatchet. 2) Four days ago. We encounter another squad who are moving around the map with both a helicopter, and a UAZ following underneath. We determine later that they're mostly crash-site hunting, but our squad comes across a crash site before they manage to. Unfortunately, they show up while we're still there. We unload on their helicopter and it flies away damaged. A minute later, we start dying one by one by an invisible killer at point blank range. It's blatant. Though they don't communicate or taunt us vocally, we can HEAR them walking around us before we are killed. 3) Three days ago. We find some new players, and form a small group. "Let's go to Zelengork!", we decide. As we're moving through the woods, a player in a ghillie suit appears behind our lead man. My squadmates are quick to the trigger, though, and unload on him with apparently no effect. They call hacker and begin aborting out of game as soon as they see he's not dying from bullets. I don't take the warning and decide to test out this invulnerability for myself. I do not survive this encounter. 4) I don't play for a few days, depressed about dying so many times in a row to hackers. Finally, I log in yesterday and create a character, intent on finding all the starting equipment again. I run my way up to Rog castle where I encounter barbed wire over the entrance. I step over it, and check out the place, finding a revolver. As I'm heading back downstairs to the exit, I see a player in a ghillie suit and carrying an AS50 on the other side of the barbed wire. "Come on out, I'm friendly!", he tells me. No thank you. He's running and walking into the barbed wire, but doesn't seem to know about stepping over it like I did. He's very chatty, too, and tells me he can see everyone on the map, including their vehicles, and is invulnerable. He even invites me to try killing him, and turns his back (I wouldn't show myself to him until he did), and he's not lying. Bullets to any part of him did nothing but make a blood spatter. He soon decides to leave and attempts to spawn a Humvee, but spawns a rubber boat on accident. He laughs at the mistake and shoots it up with his AS50 while helpfully explaining that it's okay, because he has unlimited ammunition. Well, thank goodness...? I hide like a coward until he's gone. This is the only encounter where I don't die at the end of it. Honestly, I don't know what to think about this, anymore. One week ago, I would have made the argument that hacking was extremely rare in this game, and would have told people not to worry about it. In the past week, though, I've died ONLY to hackers, and judging from my experiences of the last week it's seemed to have become much more pervasive. I even had the good fortune to have found a the holy grail (an L85 AWS) at a crash site yesterday, and am now doubting that it was such good luck after all, since I'm terrified at the idea of a cheater teleporting in behind me and killing me without even the chance to fight back. Unless my last week's encounters are just a random fluke, I'm definitely in the camp for thinking there needs to be a much better way of policing these people, now.

    Sins of a hacking gamer...

I've played video games for over 14 out of my 17 years, as the time flowed, I grew, became more intelligent, and more wise. The same could be said for my video game life, I grew as a gamer, opened my horisions and saw many different kinds of games, game play, and story telling. My gaming skill grew, and my two strongest points are FPS and Adventure, and I learned a lot about how to play games.Never give up, even if a level seems completely impossible. It took me three weeks to beat a boss monster in Final Fantasy X, and it drew my family nuts. But eventually (after I learned to actually add enhancements to my character...) I beat it, and it felt good to do it on my own. (well, someone showed me now to add the enhancements, but the battle it self was on my own.) I would always find a tough spot in a game, Sephiroth in Kingdom Hearts 1, (and two yeah... but one? *shudders*) beating Halo 3 on legendary, and other challenges that the devs would always throw at us. I always over came them, and I always did it with no help. But then I played games like GTA, and PC games, games with cheat codes of having a developers console. Getting things early, or having invincibility, or just flying through a level, or just skip it all together. Games like GTA that had cheat codes were either not that much around, or I was completely unaware of them because of my lack of internet. (I used it time to time but, it wasn't until 2006 when I really became a part of my life... Ah, online pornography...) So if there no cheat codes in a game, that meant that I had to put time and effort into completing levels and such. But not GTA, all I had to do was just use the health code to instantly heal myself: R2 L1 R1 UP DOWN LEFT RIGHT UP DOWN LEFT RIGHT. Even years after using that code, I still remember it completely because I used it so much. I used it through missions, and I barely died because of it. I mean they are very generous with the health they give you already, but with that cheat, It just makes you nearly invincible! So I put no effort or time into completing the missions. I never even thought about it, I can't think of one time I actually tried to beat a single level in GTA (Besides 4) without using a single cheat. It just was so easy, and being so powerful, it made me feel great. But it was never as good as the feeling as beating that monster that took me three weeks, or Sephiroth, that felt legitimate and actually rewarding. And the success from cheating? It felt fake, and short celebrated, and it was. Games became easy, too easy. I even became sort of upset when there were no cheats in a game like GTA, because I was so used to cheating that real effort seemed much harder. And because I cheated so much, now when I play games online, I constantly get crushed, because a lot of the practice I spent on the PS1, 2 and gamecube, was wasted on cheating. And people who actually spent time and effort into games, were so much superior.Games these days barely, and if at all have cheat codes, but there's another thing that makes us put no time or effort into games: strategy guides. Even before I used the internet I used those guides, Showing me where all of the best things in the games were, what weak spots to attack, and other things, if I have just a little trouble, I always run to the computer to either look up strategies, or codes. But when I played the PS1, I never did that, I didn't even knew others could. And yet, I was always able to beat the games I played. I might have sucked, but I completed it never the less. Recently when I played games like Limbo, I tried to complete as much as I could without using a strategy guide, and I made it to the near end of the game (like 90%) but then I used a guide, and the end was not as rewarding as it should have been. Same thing for GTA 4, on my second playthrough, I decided to be a man and try to beat the game with no cheats. It was tough, but I finality made it to the last level. Then it became too hard, I tried, and tried and tried, but after two days, I said screw it and brought out the cheats. Again, not so rewarding at the end. Cheat codes is a luxury, and like a lot of luxurious things we have in life it spoils us, and teaches nothing, if not, then anything good in our lives. So now I come to yesterday, I've been playing DayZ for the past few weeks and I had a blast. Interacting with others, being in a group, getting great loot, It was a whole new experience, and I just loved every moment, good or bad. Until recently. I was doing really good I had the M4A1 CCD SD, all equipment (besides GPS and NVG) and enough food and water and ammo to last me a while. And I did it all on my own, no cheats or anything. Then, it happened. I had two camping tents and a whole lot of stuff and I was going to a part of the map to pitch and hide them. Little did I know that swimming in water can make you lose your items. When I got half way, I noticed my ALICE backpack was gone. And when I got to shore, my ALICE backpack, M4A1, and items in the main 12 slots were gone. And boy was I pissed, I was doing so well, I was even going to commit to holding down a place, and then, all gone, all of those hours, gone in a flash. I was in denial and hope that reconnecting to a different server would fix it, but it didn't, those weapons we're gone. After many failed attempts of retrieving my stuff, I logged off and went to bed, hoping to awake to a better tomorrow. In the morning I got up, eat, then played the game again. Still gone. Then I had an idea. Now, I am telling the truth, I have never hacked a game before, and I have never used anything to have an unfair advantage over other players that was outside of the games rules and limitations. But losing so much progress because of a glitch in a glitchy game, and that fact that no one could do anything about it, sorta set me off. I wasn't mad at anyone, not Rocket or anyone on thh Dev team, they arn't gonna take the time to help one person when so many other are in need, both in my situation and in the whole thing of the glitches needing to be fixed. I was just mad at the situation I was in. I wanted instant gratifications, I wanted back the stuff I had now! But there was no way the devs could do anything, and asking another player for some stuff? You'd be shot before you could get the chance to talk to them. So I turned to the one thing when you're on your own, Hacks.I went on youtube and looked around, and it came up first. It was a video about this guy showing how to hack the game. For us non cheaters (yeah, spoiler alert I hung up my short lived hacking days.) For those who do not cheat, he was nice enough to only put out the hacks for getting anything you wanted, and nothing like vehicles, or aimbots or invincibly. And frankly that's all I wanted, I just wanted the weapons and items I had left. So I followed the instructions and started up the game, I pressed on the commands, and poof, there was a box. And in the box, was every single item in the game, The weapons, the ammo, equipment, the med equip. the food, drinks and backpacks, and there was 100 of each, the whole nine yards was mine for the taking. So I got what I think I had back... and I took a GPS and a ghillie suit. I felt like I should have gotten something for losing all of my stuff because of a glitch. The other part of me told me that I shouldn't, but screw that, I got hacks (more like scripts but it's cheating all the same). So I said so long. After pitching the tents, It felt kinda empty and boring, just two tents, and I placed them far away from any towns or loot able places, and it would take along time to fill them both up by going back and forward. There was the hacks, but I swore that I would never use them again. But I mean, why not just use a little more. I re-inputted to commands and spawned another box, then I took some weapons, food and water and put them in the tent. But I didn't stop there, so I decided to build a defense, I made two walls of wire fences and sandbags for defense. It wouldn't stop humans from walking in, but it made it a lot easier for zombies. After that, I walked along and actually found a boat. Besides a bike, I had never found a vehicle before, and was excited to go to places faster than ever before. So, obvously taking advantage of the situation, I used the scripts to spawn another box to fill it up completely. After realizing that the boat was a complete piece of s**t, I hoped off and went to talk and find a real car. I lost connection however, and when I tried to get back on, a message came up saying: Global Ban. So, that was the end, the short lived script cheating. Yes I regret it of course, I'm just glad it didn't affect anyone negativity. I mean, I didn't kill anyone, I didn't destroy anything that belong to someone, the only person who suffered from this is me, and that's the way it should be. To end this, I want to apologize to Rocket, the rest of the Dev team, everyone who has about the game and played fairly, and everyone in the forms who doesn't cheat for using scripts to cheat in this wonderful, innovative game. And I want you to know that I will no longer do anything to make video games easier. Whether it being unneeded help, codes, or going beyond the limitations of the game to exploit it. From now on I'll play the game fairly, to truly challenge myself to better myself as a gamer. Even if I lose out right, or even if it takes me so much longer than the average time to complete something, it's always. ALWAYS better than using things like scripts, hacks, cheats or guides to get through it easier and not caring that you're just pussying out and not to learn a god damn thing. I never want to do that again. Never. I'm actually glad I did this, I learned something that I should have learned along time ago, and I hope I this story taught you guys the same lesson I learned. If I ever be able to get back on DayZ, then I'll be more than grateful, and I'll try harder than ever to survive, no hacks, scripts, or cheats at all, and this goes for every single video game I will ever play for the rest of my life. This is a lesson to be learned, and to be remembered. Former Script user -Digital_Insanity EDIT: -I said it 1000 times and I will say it again. I. Do. Not. Want. To. Get. Unbanned. This post is about a lesson for everyone, not for sympathy, fame, or unbanning, please stop brinnging this up. -At the time when I used the hacks, I did not know that losing your stuff in the water was a legitimate factor in the game, it makes sense now, and it's all cleared up for me. -Stop bringing up Bronies, that's just sad and pointless, I will no longer respond to any posts about it.

    Gear Saving and Servers Patching

They will until there is a database cleanup of vehicles and tents announced by devs in forums.
  19. I'm not sure if this has been answered before and if it has I wasn't able to find the answer anywhere, but I was wondering if anyone knows if vehicles/tents and the gear stored in them survive through servers patching to newer versions of DayZ and newer betas. The server I mainly play on has been on an older patch and I've aquired quite a bit of gear on it, and I'm wondering if It'll still be there after the server finally updates to the newest patch/beta...

    Server Restarting Questions

yeah. restart it again and it will usually load the tents and vehicles back up.

    Server Restarting Questions

When tents and vehicles doesn't show after a restart it's usually related to hive and them not being loaded correctly. Another restart usually solves it. Items poofing can be several things, it can be a bug, delay to hive causing it not to save, you forgetting "save vehicle/tent". The most common is data not being saved to hive in time. There are also purging done during the maintenance of hive so unused vehicles and tents get removed/reset.
  22. On my server, I have scheduled restarts every 6 hours. I noticed that during schedule restarts, and even some restarts I do manually, when I come back into the server, all my vehicles and tents are gone. Tents that have been here for days disappear, as well as vehicles. When I restart the server again, manually, all these tents and vehicles spawn into their regular position. Can anyone explain this? My second question: I keep putting stuff into my tents, then saving the tents, but then the items keep on poofing. I have one tent that I set up a week ago, and it managed to save everything I put inside it, but all my new tents keep poofing items. Is the problem that my server has desynced from the hive? The last couple of times I've put stuff in my tents, it was after 4+ hours of play, with no server restart. Should i bet putting stuff in my tents at the beginning of a restart or something? Thanks.

    [DayZMod] The Dayz Statistics thread!

it happened to me to spawn there, and yes, sometimes i noticed signs of people, like a tent or like i said before, vehicles. but i never found barbed wire or tank bullshit of farmes and hoppers..

    Fucking Hackers, WTF!!!

Out of my last 10 deaths, only 2-3 have been legitimate PvP kills or zombie deaths. I've been spawned out in debug with nothing. I've logged in to find that I was dead, even though I had logged out in a tree over 1km from any structure. (my corpse and tents were untouched when I ran back) I've been killed by vaulting over something. I've been killed by combat loggers. I've been killed by players with teleport hacks. I've been killed by players with wall hacks. I've been massmurdered. I've been teleported into the air 100 feet to fall to my death. I've been in vehicles that just randomly exploded.

    Recovering blood levels

Adding such a thing would slightly ruin the needing to feed imo, I play with a clan we have about 3-8 people on when we play, Due to that many we have numerous vehicles and tent locations. If i'm ever on solo, I spend that time, gathering supplies, i hut animals for meat so that we don't need to spend time doing it, Can use the large amount the heal up and save blood bags there fore saving hospital runs. If anything, I think the game needs to be made sl ightly more difficult some how.
