i have the same problem too :( all vehicles and tents are reset upon server restart. vehicles are put in the place they spawn at and go back to their original state. also gear is spawning very slowly. (u need to wait like 30minutes in the middle of electro to spawn all loot) any chance this errors get fixed, if i resinstall the server software and stuff?

I recently purchased a server and it seems no matter how i restart it everything disappears (tents/vehicles). I was curious if someone could please explain to me the correct way to stop and restart a server step by step. Thanks

And what about vehicles, do they stay at the location you last exited them. Or do they teleport back to their last position in 1.7.2.4?

IMO it is way better for these reasons -BUILDINGS EVERYWHERE, ALL ENTERABLE -3x's the amount of military loot so you actually have options -Less servers, means less horded vehicles -Less people/server=less stress on hive (things actually save FPS is amazing) -It is totally different scenary, it feels like your in the first jurrassic park movie. -New buildings (the only familier ones are market and office/school and some others but mostly all new. -There is no "north" as in to say unlike cherno where "north is safe and away from danger...there is no "safe" or "dangerous" since you spawn on the coast of any of the 4-5 islands...there are still "high traffic areas" like the very southern military base (you can also spawn there) but over all it is balanced (oh and the prison is kind of similar to the NWA but that is only cause it is the only real unique structure. EDIT -You can fill up a car or vehicle by just standing near the gas station -you can mount a military flash light on your shoulder instead of having to have it in your weapon slot.

There is a cheater on this server. Katey Sue was the name. He is teleporting ALL vehicles to the factory in cherno.

If the goal is to simulate your character being in game 24/7 I think a more authentic scenario can be made than secure synced storage for a player. How bout your character stays in game as AI when your not there then you can log in to a dead character instead of missing gear? I think you should learn from your experiances and come up with better places for your tent(s). Pro tip don't put vehicles near them because there are hacks to find all the vehicles on a server. I have had a tent unlooted for going on a month. Sometimes hiding in plain sight is better than activley trying to hide one, people look in the places you assume would be great tent spots.

I'll check right now, i'm sure they're just not loading properly after the restart. Indeed this was the problem, it's fixed now. It's some bug, sometimes after the scheduled restarts vehicles, tents and barricades won't load in properly. Just have to restart again to fix it.

Hi all, I jumped into a server this morning after a long night of awesomeness last night to see if my gear was still there. After about 5 minutes or so, I keeled over and died as well as everyone on the server. I figured it was a hacker and jumped off. My buddy Brian texted me at work saying we were raided and are vehicles were missing so I figured it was a server reset. My question is, when you are on a server that is in the middle of a reset, do you die and get fresh spawned back on the coast or do you die and respawn where you died? Thanks, JoeDaddy92

Rocket is always saying in Q&A's and interviews that it is caused by a "floating point error" which is caused by an particularly complex rendering requirement. But if you set your video options to VERY LOW and a resolution that would embarrass even a PS One, the problem still occurs, making a mockery of Rocket's recommendation. In the IGN interview he recommended turning Vert Sync ON when it happened to the game the interviewer was playing, it made the problem WORSE. If vanilla Operation Arrowhead can handle hundreds of AI plus vehicles onscreen without this problem then it seems wrong of Rocket to blame Arma's engine.

I've never had the chance to see these no PvP rules in action since I've been kicked off DE 1306 around 20 times for just daring to join it. I was searching for a nice friendly server, thought I'd found it, then keep getting kicked. I don't kill people, I have zero interest in taking any vehicles, I just wanted somewhere hacker free and well admined to hang around and raid a few supermarkets in the NE for food while my friends were all offline. It seemed admins were online all the time so I chose this server. Despite all the arguments going on in this thread and others, it can't be right hosting a public server and then to kick every person just for daring to join your server. It gives all the honest admins a bad name :(

Hoarding vehicles on a server makes the server lack vehicles, so if someone see you they will shoot, no matter what. Why? Because you have all the vehicles. And why would anyone be jelaous on some random guy on a board? Not even on the same server :) I could not give a rats ass what people on a server I am not on do. Hiding 10 vehicles is just as easy as hiding 1 ? It just takes more time ? Well, becoming a body builder is easy, it just takes time. Learning to fly a plane is easy, it just takes more time then learning to drive a car. Everything is easy, some things just takes more time. Well... kinda depends on how you define "easy" :) The long argument between the two of you is prob better to just keep between you, don`t see any "winners" there anyway. But when op asked a question Edward b gave one answer. "Don`t hoard vehicles", while this might not be the best answer, it`s something he can actually do. Hoarding most of the vehicles on a server will make you a "wanted" survivor. Why? Because you have something everyone else wants in a game where killing is the main point. Your answer to op was: and not even to the op, but to the guy providing another answer. And your suggestion was: "Problem: Vehicles in the game get destroyed too easy and it has been mentioned by, Rocket." -> so... how to fix this, ah, that`s right you can`t :) "Solution: You stop being so jealous you can't find a vehicle." -> I know this is not a "serious" solution, but come on! When you start of like this it`s kinda strange to hop right up on your high horse 2 posts lower down. Why would he be jealous? He is not even on the same server. And to top it of: "I don't even know this guy, but I'm not going to be a whiny bitch about his success." But you whine about vehicles not beeing able to take dmg ? So whine about stuff you can`t fix ? nah, I would rather shoot the guy hoarding 10+ vehicles and steal one :) Do you honestly blame someone for thinking you where trolling? But over to what the op asked :) When I find a vehicle I find myself as a target aswell, but it makes sense. You are easy to spot, you make alot of noise, and you have a freakin car ! You can`t do much about the cars, they don`t take dmg well (some better then others as said in the post already) and invisible barriers are a bitch, sure. Slowing down ALOT seems to help, and staying out of towns, driving around them. But I can`t help thinking I am "Preatching to the choir" here. Without you being able to see the logs you wouldn't be able to see those players that contributed to such actions actually spawned in as a "seagull" to find the bases or track the admins to shoot them. Amen brother I feel where you are coming from. I personally am so sick and tired of being threatened to have my server blacklisted. With the way things are as of now with this broken mod it would actually be doing me a favor so I can get off my ass and put up a private hive with multiple servers that actually "work" thus being able to save your tents and vehicles.

Saying that speeding down the road in a car does not possibly impact other people, if you can't see how it can and does..... I know, it impacts the players on the server that play the game THE WAY THE DEV'S WANT IT TO BE PLAYED. It impacts the player who is cheating by using a weapon/vehicle that is not supposed to be in the game, it impacts them by telling them they can't cheat on our server, and to go somewhere else where cheaters are welcome, like NO56 for instance. Just the fact that many, many, many servers out there remove players using scripted in weapons/vehicles and do not get blacklisted shows you that the "team" accepts it, for what reason I do not know. You have been told by staff members to stop going into threads and doing this.

Go play arma 2 if u dont want to pvp. You said it yourself, the main point of this game is to survive. That means killing other players and taking their gear helps you survive better. If there is no pvp, what do you have to survive against? Zombies are NOT a challenge. They pose no real threat to you unless you go into a city and start shooting and attract them, which then just lets people know where you are. Rocket wants people to do what they want to do. HE wants us to be in charge and play how we want to play. I am not saying that this game should solely be based on pvp, but to try and penalize people for wanting to play how they want to play is ridiculous. How is getting vehicles, avoiding zombies, and hunting animals fun? It takes no skill. If this was real life, it would be different. No it wouldn't be fun, but not everybody would go around killing others without a second thought. So tired of these post.

This is coming up in the create vehicles log quite a bit. What is it? I assumed it was someone logging in with a Soldier skin on, how would I know if they are spawning them?

Wow.. spoiled much? We keep one vehicle that is large enough to hold the people who play with us. All the rest are found and moved closer to the coast for anyone to find. We have already had several clans roll through and try to keep everything for themselves, they were raided and the vehicles distributed. Sorry you didnt find one sitting on a very high traffic area of the coast, perhaps looking deeper inland would yield better results.

Hey, "thatguy" (in game name). Is that you with the pickup truck, shooting at me at the NE airstrip as I rode up on my motorcycle? Are you stalking me? I'm not leaving that server until vehicles are fixed so, I guess... catch me if you can.

Why not to try using it yourself? I bet your clan has some vehicle or tent city to stash stuff into so its not like you have to ditch your good ole DMR. Now I remember some peeps reported that vehicles and tents does not save properly (I would not know, because my playstyle is more of sticking to south then hoarding stuff up north) so maybe its a dilemma.

To clarify: There would be vehicles, simply no tents to dupe gear, no nightvision, gps or thermal gear available. It would be a private hive so you could not introduce this gear to the server without hacking and ban if found with it.

Have you EVER broke a rule in your life? Have you EVER gone 1 MPH over the speed limit? The way you talk on these forums, you NEVER do anything wrong, you follow every rule and law known to mankind. Sometimes commonsense has to kick in. If someone is using something that was NOT intended to be used, they are CHEATING. I can't say why the DayZ team sees fit not to do something about it, maybe they are just lazy, maybe they don't give a damn, I don't know. What I do know is that people who use weapons and vehicles that are not intended to be in the game will not play on our server, and I bet the majority of the other SA's out there agree with that.
