    Seems like people have VERY different experiences from playing dayz, this can be a good thing of course, we get more perspective. On the server I played on there where clans, the tension was VERY high, cause you "know" the guy shooting at you. You don`t know him well, there where like 50 people on the server. If a "random" dude kills me I am more like "meh, Re-spawn." Forget it. Like it feels in BF or any other fps game. But If a guy from another clan killed one of ours there was an intense manhunt. We had alliances, we had feuds. And there are also people you don`t know or people who does not have any clans. So we got to experince that aspect aswell. I see server hopping as one of the worst things that can ever happen to dayz, perhaps I am missunderstanding the concept, but can`t you just log out inside a house and log in to server where that house is "barricaded" making the whole point of barricading a waste ? Can not also join low pop server and loot them? Surviving now is so easy that you play for 20 min and you have ALL the best items ingame (this will prob change in release, so no worries) but I can`t see one single positive thing with server jumping, for parts or any other reason.     This is the only statement you write that I can agree with. Perhaps the devs could benefit from a smaller map purely for testing purposes. See how more intence fighting will pan out. But as for the game in general... One of the things that seperate dayz from other similar games is the open world and huge map. If they remove that, I for one, will just play another game. Have a nice weekend :)

    Ah, okey. I am not as up to date about these issues as you are then :) It`s is nice that you take the time to explain it (just sad you have to do it so often) We have def played on different epoch servers :) (and I tried a few) The few I tried had base building and traders. No tanks, no gunships, no jets, no rocketlaunchers... well you get the point. Just base building and traders. Same equipment as in the original mod. But that only shows how talking about the same thing can mean something different. So do I, the way you describe your Epoch experience sounds awfull. Exactly, and what I meant with my post was that the questions are valid, and they are worth looking at. Even if there are from just one single person. (not talking about you here, 50% of my post was not directed at you anyway, but you prob got that?) Best Regards.

    I agree this is the way to go. When you say "the community", do you mean the guy who started this post? The guy who got almost everyone who replied against him ? Hardly seems like the communty`s "demands". But the communty IS right to question the way the dev team is working, adding vehicles was a long sought after addition, and it was to far down the list. I belive it is important to give people addons that will keep them in game, and keep the game "hot". We all hope more and more people will buy this game so that we can get even better mechanics and items. But for that to happen the updates need to make a difference. But it is better to do it slow and right, rather then fast and wrong. You highly doubt the dev team is going for base-building? You are on the dayz forum team :) You should know that this is something they are aiming for, they even said that best case scenario is base building under ground. And that is what epoch is, base building, perhaps not the safe zones and traders, but that is only a small part of it, and reading about what way Hall and the dev team want to go it seems fairly close to epoch. What you or I say will not affect the Dev-team (I hope) but as a community we can make an impact. Best Regards.

    I belive that was also the point of the OP... DON`T add more suff, focus on getting items already in the game working. So it`s the priority that is the problem then? Adding more stuff before fixing what you already got ? I can`t say I agree with OP on all the points, but some of you seem to miss the point (I think) This was added like a "when you are done with all else". ("After that do whatevery you prefer with 1000 extra items....like ".) Rocket also says that modding will be a HUGE part of dayz, and epoch will become a mod on some servers. Your (or mine, I don`t like epoch myself) personal opinion should not overshadow the requests from the community. Epoch was\is a huge hit, and it would be sad to see dayz go in directions based on what a few members feel. I love dayz, but I am not a "fanboy" ie. I am able to suggest ways to improve the product, and there are alot of room for that. I usually don`t comment on the way a gaming company is beeing run (pointless when you don`t have all the information). But if the issue is bugs and glitches you don`t hire 10 artist to develop new clothing. You hire coders to fix the bugs. Seems like you deal alot in "opinions" and "feelings" yourself. OP made a few good points that are purely facts, yet you call them opinions. Is the fact that deadlines beeing missed an opinion? Or that the game have been in development ALOT longer than promised an opinion ? No, they are not. They are facts as pure as they can be. Now, that`s okey, things happen in huge projects like this, and I have no problem waiting. I and hope they are getting all the support they need and they are doing a good job making this game better and better for every patch they release. But that should not stop us from trying to bring constructive criticism to the boards. Yes, some criticism is not helpfull at all, but better to get a few bad ones and a few good ones then getting a whole bunch of "yes" boys just defending every move. We need to start beeing ALOT more respectfull to people on the community board, this is a alpha game. Why do they sell a game that is not finished?? To get feedback from the community. When you strike down at people giving that feedback you are missing the whole point of a alpha release. Keep asking question, keep adding suggestions, in my opinion developers working at dayz appreciate feedback. Best Regards.

    I honestly like your suggestion. But instead of going in to the graphic discussion about how you stab someone there are a few things I would like to add. 1. Diverting resources. Implenthing this would require that they take coders away from fixing other excisting bugs (and more pressing issues) to add a feature that would (sorry to say) almost never be used. 2. almost never be used you say? I have played dayz since the very start, and not one single time have anyone been able to sneak up on me. This is unrealistic (ofc) but I am playing a zombie apapocalypse, so I am very aware of my surroundings. Now this might happen if they infact added a reward for sneaking up on someone, I will give you that. But by giving people a reward for sneaking up on someone everyone will be even more vigilant, and again the feature would not be used as much. 3. Fixing the mechanics. Most battles are in open landscape, and the sound your char makes (even when walking slow) is LOUD. They would need to make the game more "sneak friendly" to accommodate this feature. Something I would love to see btw :) But then we are back to point 1 again. They would also need to update the meelee system in the game, you don`t really hit what you aim for. So even if I like your suggestion (which I do) I hope they focus on more pressing issues, and perhaps we can have backstabbing in the release. Best Regards.

    This is exaclty how I feel aswell. Had a break for a while, startet up again now as they will be adding vehicles soon. And also got a few new friends with me, their complaints are not the bugs (and we all know there are a few). It`s not beeing able to play with the people you bought the game to play with in the first place. But it`s not just new players who comment on this, old players who played with me in the early release of the mod also says that with the new temperature and the little to no loot (something I love btw) it`s hard to meet up with your friends, and this is a multiplayer game after all. Just last night we hade 3 players just playing arma 2 since they died 3 times before even meeting any of us. Keep it hard. Keep it challenging. But let me play with my friends. Glad to see there are atleast a few others who find the idea of a better solution to spawn is needed. And perhaps the best one is not even suggested yet. I got 2 great ones just by posting in here.     Come on don`t use my own arguments against me :) Well I guess that`s what I risk when I provided them. A good point would be that people should be able to hook up with friends with good gear, i.e. - "spawn at hub 1, I am close" - that would be wrong. And I did honestly not think about that. So I agree with your point that it should be random. And I like the way you added the car or boat idea. This weekend we where 4 friends meeting up having a "good old lan" (except it`s online, but you get my point) I am an old Dayz player 2 of them where new, and we introduced the game to them, they only said positive things about the game. "So you get cold and die?... cool, then we have to work around that".... "You can starve?.... also cool" Some bugs but hey it`s alpha, only thing they said at the end was... "well, fun game but we did not really get the chance to play togheter". And we startet tallking about solutions that would harm the gameplay to much and let people play togheter. But I agree, keep the random spawn just add an option to spawn "relatively" close to a friend. Or Like a scenario like you explained, in a destroyed boat or similar (which was inspired btw, kudos) (This is why I post on the suggestion board btw, to get good and constructive feedback, thanks) Best Regards

    You mean what we do everytime we play? Ten min for every friend you hook up with in a game with around 5min life expactancy ? Like I said I have played this game since very birth early release on the arma2 mod. I know all the "tips and Trix", it just still feels like you run to meet your friends most of the time. And "find your bearings on the map" are you kidding me? I know the map as the back of my hand, and when I spawn I know exactly where I am, and how far I have to run. That is the basis for the whole suggestion. Done that for a few years now.... I don`t see any good arguments against spawn hubs.... Just "I don`t like it"... that is in the category of "I don`t care what you like". Give me some good arguments, like "it destroys the game immersion" or "That is the point of the game, to work to find people" and so. "I don`t like it" is nothing to discuss. *Sarcasm* :) I would love to just quit work, break up with my girlfriend, toss the baby in a dumpster and game several hours just to find my friends and THEN begin to actually play. *Sarcasm end* This is what I said myself, suiciding until you spawn togheter is NOT overcoming an obsticle, but It`s what people do. And spawn hubs will remove the need to exploid a bad game mechanic. Just being able to choose like 4 big circles along the coast would be enough, (and also remove the need to re-spawn until happy) but if that ruin your game play (As if "I like to run a few more minutes until I can play with my friends" is a good argument) I will let this go and just do something else.     First off I would like to say that I have played since the very begining (of the mod) and the more hardcore the better. When they add a new obstacle to overcome I get excited. There is however one thing I miss, beeing able to play with my friends. We are about 20-30 rl friends who play together, but we rarly get to play together, or we have to commit suicide until we spawn reletivly close. (and the suicide sollution is worse then spawn hubs if you ask me) What I am proposing (prob been suggested before, but could not find anything recent) are spawn hubs or spawn circles. It`s a rather huge circle, bigger then the total area of for example Cherno, so you can`t just camp the "hubs" and kill noobs. But this will make it possible to play with friends. Hook up abit easier, I don`t have as much playtime as I did when I was younger, and spending 2hours just running the forrest trying to hook up with 2 friends just kills it for me (and many others). Considering there are several good suggestions in this thread that are actually better than mine but still get`s the point, I will add them in the opening post. 1: Spawn in global random spawn, but close to a friend. (cred. Evil Minion) First player spawn area is the global spawn area.Second player spawn area is limited* to a 1 km circle around the first player.Third players spawn area is limited* to the union of the 1 km circles around the first two players. 2: Spawn in from an incident with a friend. (cred. Nesuma) Random spawn along the coast (as it is now)Spawn in a an old car wreck or an old boat (not working) simulating the way you entered the apocalypse together. Read their own (and better explanations in the thread below) People who are passionate about this game does not want any "short-cuts" or "easy gaming". But considering many of us have work and other Non gaming things we need to do sometimes we would still like to be able to play with friends. And I don`t think 2 fresh spawns able to start close are the biggest threat anyway. They just want to enjoy the game as friends. Best Regards.

    I would like to see "take on helicopters" mechanics in Dayz. So you have to learn how to fly, not just jump in and take off like a spaceship. (as it is now) Take on helicopter settings set to realistic please :) Best Regards.

    Hi. Anyone who know when vehicle of any kind will be implemented? They give the game an immense depth, atleast for me and my friends. We are basicly just waiting for the game to get vehicles. It does not take long before you have most of what you can get, and survive just fine. And you walk, and you walk, and you..... well you get the picture. Vehicles gives groups a comman goal to work against. Getting the vehicle, fixing it, fueling, maintaining, protecting and so on. Seeing other with vehicles can spark bigger fights that are actually justified. And not just killing people for resourses you can very easy find yourself. I think many people are bandits now simply because they are bored. I think it`s about time they focus on getting vehicles implemented. Not sure if this is in the right forum part, since it`s not really a suggestion more a question (we all know vehicles will come at some point) Where would it belong, if not here?
