    We Want More Vehicles?

    More TYPES of vehicles would be nice. Maybe the UH-60D blackhawk, or a refueling truck? Maybe even an Ambulance/Medic Truck or humvee?

  3. so i've played lingor island for a few hours over the last couple days and i'm really liking the map. i guess i'll just put my thoughts down in bullet points hacking is a lot less common. i played for 4 hours on a server with 35 people yesterday and there were no attacks by scripters at all. i spoke to some other people who were playing in the server and they also noticed that there are far fewer cheaters on lingor servers. the terrain is much more interesting than in chernarus. chernarus is basically forests and open fields. lingor is a bit more varied, even though it's a smaller map. it's got rainforests, fields, swamps, rivers, and the geography seems to be more hilly and mountainous. the buildings are better. all the different types of lootable buildings you see in chernarus are included in lingor, along with a ton of other buildings that are unique to the island. a vast majority of the buildings are lootable, where as only a few of the buildings in a typical chernarus town can actually be entered. in addition, there are some unique locations like a prison and a racetrack. The cities have better layouts. It's hard to explain. I like how there are airports on the outskirts of the largest cities. zombies run at a reasonable speed so you can actually engage them out in the open without having to worry about wasting ammo. their pathing is still wonky, though, so it's not a sure thing and you will still take hits if you try to stand your ground outdoors. as the map name implies, you are playing on a large island. this gives it two advantages over chernarus. first, you spawn anywhere along the coast. but since the coast goes around the entire map, spawn points are spread out better and there isn't a concentration of freshly spawned players in one area like what you normally see in cherno and elektro. the other advantage to playing on an island is that vehicles and camps can't be placed off the map in some remote location. there are far more military loot spawns and they are spread out pretty evenly across the map. the advantage to this is that it prevents one specific area from attracting a ton of bandits and becoming a pvp zone like NWAF or stary sobor. global and side chat are still implemented. i know that there are people who are against having it (i'm on the fence), but it does enable people to coordinate and team up. that means... people are friendly again! i like my banditry in moderation. i teamed up with a total stranger this afternoon and we fought zombies and looted a town together, which is something i haven't done since june or so. chernarus' player base has gotten jaded and everyone is hostile. i have a feeling that eventually the community in lingor will devolve to the shoot-on-sight mentality that chernarus has, especially if a lot of the people who contributed to the pvp mindset jump ship and try playing lingor. but i'm optimistic and i really hope that it won't happen. if you're a hardcore survival player who tries to avoid all player contact, you probably won't like this map. it's harder to stay in a remote corner of the map because there is no corner of the map. and lingor is less than 2/3 the size of chernarus. anyway, those are my thoughts about lingor. i'd like to hear what you guys think of it.

    Vehicles don't spawn on every spawn location found on the map. I'd honestly prefer if there were more bikes and if a bike could carry an extra guy (or two for hilarity sake) at the cost of speed.

    IMO vehicles in running condition should be everywhere, fuel should be the rare commodity.
  6. so about 20 minutes ago all the vehicles on us1218 were teleported to 011,125, me, a mate and another pair of mates were all teleported to this location as we were on atv's we immediately dc'ed and i decided to rejoin to see what had happened.. when i did so about 10 seconds later all the vehicles dissapeared again. there was about 8ish players online at the time (not certain)

    vehicles appear to save correctly now too. Although my van was transformed to an off-road by the update. I only played for an hour but in that time I found 2 heli crash sites (within 600m of each other) including an as50, dmr, and nvgs. I also found a tractor and repaired my truck fully (engine and chassis). Maybe just lucky today.
  8. To the guys that got us at sniper hill, Now that tents and vehicles are fixed my buddy and I decide to set up a camp. We head towards elecktro scouting sniper hill from the north first. On our way down the hill from the peak my buddy is on my left we're taking turns advancing while the other covers. I hear steps on my right (buddy was on left), I thought I was just hearing things cuz I stopped to listen and didnt hear/see anything. So we proceed further down the hill. My buddy spots a lone sniper well supplied with tools, backpack, and guns. He dispatches him and proceeds to check him out. I made the mistake of leaving my cover position to come down and loot as well. After about a minute shots ring out and i fall unconsious, no bleeding, no broken bones, but uncon. My buddy got hit with a grazing shot had to bandage but otherwise ok. He takes up a defensive position to cover and try and return fire but couldn't find them. After a few min he gets taken out and the 2 guys come down to loot us. I'm still unconsious about 1/4 of the hourglass left. First guy in camo comes down starts looting the sniper. He ran right past me and I'm hoping that he forgets to check my body or gives me enough time to get up and shoot back. No such luck though, had about 10% left on the timer when his buddy comes down and realizes I'm still alive and fills me full of lead. Just wanted to say well done and it was a blast, nice kills you earned them, enjoy my empty alice pack, m9sd, m16, and almost full toolkit, my buddy had a bit more but still well earned. We learned alot from that experience and am looking forward to our next encounter.

    I personally have found one vehicle that wasn't an ATV or already being driven, and I didn't have the supplies to repair it. I'd like if there were more spawns, but not a 100% chance of spawning on any given location. That way it's a bit harder to hoard them all, and possibly increasing the total amount of vehicles actually going around.
  12. There is nothing wrong with adding new stuff. Content drives the game, I was bored as hell of DayZ and then Lingor Island popped up. Now Utes, dont care so much myself for it, and Takistan REALLY want to get into that one. As for supporting what they already have, they just released a major updated that includes 1.7.2.6 and MANY more huge bug fixes to the Private Hive Package Servers.   13. Unfortunately this form of cheating is still undetected and now that vehicles save locations all servers are susceptible to this form of griefing. This form of griefing has become much more effective now that vehicle locations save to the hive, it is almost effortless for them to do this, and it has major impact on the balance of the server. You did the right thing, seek out the vehicles and destroy. That effectively is resetting the vehicles as it distributes most of them back across your server. The helo is a different animal and can take up to 7 days to re-spawn, As far as destroying them goes explosives are good but kamikaze runs are best.

On a related note have you ever been on the interweb before? Google is your friend, you have enough knowledge to fire up your computer to play games and post on a forum, how can you not look past the first item on a Google search for Dayz. Alright that is the end of dickish post.

We started off as a group of 4, playing Day-Z from one of the earliest Alpha patches. After advertising on the Day-Z forum with some images of what we have been getting up to on our chosen home server, people came from all over. We have now grown to over 100 active forum members with around 15-30 actively online each night. Not looking to ‘achieve’ anything in particular apart from have fun and provide a great environment for all players to enjoy. What’s your opinion on the current state of the game? Day-Z has come along way from when we started playing around 6 weeks ago! In that short period of time its had such HUGE support from the players, with the sales of Arma II and suggestions for the mod, which I think has given Rocket and his team the drive to make this a massive success. Currently there’s alot to improve on, we daily come across many bugs, lag, server downtime etc but theres something about this game that keeps you coming back for more! With new stuff being added to Day-Z what would you like to see added? More clan support for example? Clan support would be amazing, we have all watched countless interviews and videos and some of the upcoming ‘ideas’ sound fantastic. The Day-Z team seem to understand that this game needs some sort of team orientated features to continue its success. We already have great fun playing as a team, sometimes even around 20 men in 1 group but every so often a friendly member may take a hit, so with the introduction to clan features, we may avoid having to overdose our guys on morphine! On your site banner there is a pick-up truck full of people, can you tell us the story behind that? Ha! When we first started renting our server, alot of the guys were keen to get a few vehicles, that pickup being one of them! We spent ages fixing it up, many trips to different towns, back and forth! Eventually we got it running and teared up the map! We decided to head down the coast to see if we could spot any players, this is where we saw many a man being chased by zombies. We would shout to them to get in the truck, we are here to save them!!!! We would interrogate them, find out where they are from, what they plan on doing etc and even some joined the clan! Others on the other hand, got scared and jumped!!! That’s how we came up with the slogan, we steal from the rich and give lifts to the poor! (Yes we do kill people up north, poor people being the unarmed!!) With Day-Z involving a lot of trust have you had any bad experiences with other members or players? No doubt like every other person who has played Day-Z, we have had our fair share of bad experiences. We often let our guard down to ‘harmless unarmed players’ when we first started. We have had times were we saved people from zombies and other players, let them into our group to find out they were here to steal and kill us! Other times we gave out our Teamspeak to people we had picked up and they would be nice on teamspeak, but when we let our guard down, they would kill and steal the trucks! Admittedly, funny as hell now, but not at the time after you have put hours of work into something to have it taken away in seconds. We have hopefully tightened up our recruitment system and how we treat other player Has Day-Z taught you anything about surviving in a zombie apocalypse? Find yourself a Makarov and an alice pack load of beanz! Why should people join TPOC instead of maybe forming a small group or going it alone? TPOC has people from all over the world! EU, US, Australia, its become more of a community than a clan. We give all our clan members the ability to create sub-channels in our teamspeak, we use this to show our current locations and set up squads! 90% of the time someone from the community is just around the corner and in 5-10mins your allied with a friendly. We do take the game seriously, but we of course we like to have fun!! We go out on raids in formations and squads, we also have 20 man dance off’s, try to cook meat with satchel charges and watch people fight in the Ring of Pirates, with crowbars – we love a crowbar deathmatch! Do you feel basing the clan around Day-Z offers an experience other clans may not? Not really, we already play other games together and have plans to play some of the larger upcoming games as a clan! Currently the name is based around Day-Z as that’s of course where it all started, but with the recent influx of players and donations we can see this like-minded group of people sticking together and going far! Day-Z although is a unique game, you need patience, fast reactions and the ability to play as a team. Day-Z really tests peoples ability to play together, as a team you experience many ups and downs and fingers crossed if we move onto other games Day-Z will make us one of the strongest clans around… If you do decide to venture into other games would you need to re-brand the clan? I guess we would. I assume we would keep the ‘Pirate’ theme as its working well so far… yarrr!!! haha!! We are introducing some hierarchy and honorary members for donators etc. Everything we’ve done so far, we try to do as a team, if we were to re-brand that would be a decision by majority.     Who cares if duping is fixed? Even after a hive wipe. Spreading weapons via hackers spawning stuff and spreading weapons via tent duping is both bad. And I can bet that if the duping is fixed, then because of the sheer amount of hackers, they are just going to spread weapons like wildfire. You can bet that within a week, the majority of servers will have illegitimate weapons, vehicles and items... And I already stated why a hive wipe every week is terrible.

    Hacking/Scripting

    If any of you guys want revenge FMF clan has declared open war on them and we are constantly killing their members on 850 ( and anywhere else we can find them), If you want to join in the fun feel free to stop by our forums or ts. Beyond their scripted in weapons and BS they are really really bad players. We probably have about 30 kills on them now with maybe 5 deaths on our side. I can corroborate the BS that they pull as well, they script in weapons and vehicles. Standard kit for them is the as50 TWS soldier clothing and the M4a1 m203 holo silenced ( we have stolen a large number of these weapons from them and now use them to kick their asses) We have a number of instances where they have tracked our spawn locations when we were wearing our clan tags and showed up minutes later with groups of 3-4 to scour the area for us. We also have an ex member of theirs who has been script killed by them and witnessed them using god mode and teleporting ( along with our clan itself seeing other instances of this) The easiest way to fight them is to drop in on 850 with a random name and start killing, we can give you locations of previous camps along with info on where they generally operate. Hell, their clan leader even reported our servers for kicking them for no reason when it was actually a battle eye issue and he will probably hop on here and do his whole "Fraps or it didn't happen" crap. It's funny how that works especially when you can search for CNSF on the forums and see the complaints made against them.
  20. Truly random loot. The dayz database map should not show you what type of loot you can get and it's location. If you see military vehicles you could assum you would fine military loot but it shouldn't tell you on the map. Also as you travel the map should be more detailed in those areas because you have been there and you know.

  22. -First Official Lingor Island Weekend Details- -Tonight at 7pm PDT, 9pm CDT, 10pm EDT- We will be installing Lingor Island this evening and it will remain on the server until sometime Sunday night, depending on feedback from our players of course. All of your progress in Chenarus will remain intact and you will be able to continue playing when we switch back to the map. Your Chenarus and Lingor Island characters will be separate, so everyone in Lingor will be starting fresh and when we return to Chenarus your character will be just as you left them. so there is no need to worry about any of that. To join us in Lingor you can easily install the Lingor Island files and join the server using DayZ Commander, it will have no effect on your current DayZ installation, it installs to a separate file. If you don't want to join us in Lingor you can find other Vilayer Hive Chenarus servers by filtering for "DayZChenarus" this should find servers on the Vilayer hive running Chenarus. You can also return to your original character on the original DayZ hive. Anyone new to Lingor Island should know it is a smaller map and as a result there will likely be much more PvP happening, finding a group of friendlies will be very beneficial. There are still a plethora of Vehicles to be found and repaired, including at least one Helicopter. You can enter 99.9% of the buildings on the map and it is pretty easy to find loot. It is also a tropical island type of setting, just think of it as a vacation. If you have any questions, Message Desync or Psychobob on Teamspeak or Steam. The details for both are located in the 1st post of this thread.

    Hotfix Build 1.7.2.6 Rolling Update

    Yeah, is it possible for tents to auto save after every interaction? Remove the manual save function. Same goes for vehicles.
