I like the thoroughness but I really not see how it will enhance gameplay. So people have a tough time keeping vehicles, boohoo and who cares -

Just a heads up guys, i have switched our server over to Fallujah 24-7 and it is now updated. Admins are present most of the day and will be on at night also. 80 vehicles Custom load out for fresh spawns inc : Makarov with 2 clips Map Compass Hatchet Server is running Vilayers new anti-cheat software Also make sure you check out our new private dedi server UK31 Bliss which is using Gotcha anti-hack. specialization is the key and would be a reason to team up. I'm amazed at how everyone is an expert in operating all military vehicles, guns etc. Give specialist roles where only certain guns can be operated by so and so group and poof you will see better cooperative play. There needs to be some balancing with backpacks as well, maybe engineers have more slots for gear but cannot carry many weapons etc, right now it's just too easy to play multiple roles without too much hassle. -

I'm thinking the vehicle crafting Rocket was talking about will probably be more along the lines of reinforcing vehicles with armour or whatever. Crafting a vehicle from scratch seems a little ridiculous.

As stated before a great idea. I liek the potential of it affecting NVG and thermal tools, this would render them almost useless in lit up areas, A gameplay changer. Groups or teams of people could make it their gameplay of choice, An engineer if you will. repair vehicles and repair downed facilities without an actual class system. I would love to be part of a community in game with a specific role. From medic to security and everything inbetween without breaking any realism. It goes without saying after 5 years there would not be any working infrastructure in Chernarus, so Player interaction would be needed. Isn't there also a Generator in Arma 2? it could be ported in and allow a means of powering most basic elecrical systems. It could not however power a whole power station, so I'm wondering could here be a re-fueling vehicle near an airport for example? Or perhaps a ship yard tie in? (On a long note a train delivery, but admitedly this would take the game away from the apocalypse scenario) Fuel would eventually run out and is not a finite resource so could scavenging vehicles etc, produce a sustainable source (think spawning items but in motorised forms) -

I was playing it last night, ye in buildings specific for this map, there was almost no loot, but search for loot able building that u know from Cherno map, there should be loot. And than there is an airfield with like 20 barracks, and hangars... But i didn’t like the map, its boring and all u have to find is an AS50 or m107 and head to the desert (not my game play style but sniper kiddies will do it for sure..) and find an elevated point, lie down and snipe...unless u are in the Cities, u can be seen from over 1 km away... But if u like vehicles, that is the right map for u, my teammates found like 5 choppers, cars with guns mounted etc.. And yes if a Infected gets agro on you in the desert he will chasse u till the end of the map, or the next city u come across, no trees to hide in the desert… My favorite map is still Cherno… -

Sorry For takistan and fallujah ONLY. Sorry i should have been more clear on that, and for these 2 maps this amount of vehicles is completely necessary. Chernarus etc will have 30 Vehicles. Please bear in mind that 15-20% of these are old pushbikes and they dont all spawn at same time. Thank you Legacy. -
Anything that makes hoarding vehicles easier gets a categorical 'no' from me... You were probably hiding all those vehicles on the edge of the map and only getting in them often enough to stop them respawning anyway.

Wtf is that thing Radiix. starting to second guess the whole coorperation thing lol ;) And Fraggle, Lingor is fun heh, you gear up like a motherfucker in 10 mins and vehicles are just everywhere, i mean everywhere heh. Big ass cities and alot of water :) And some serious jungle :) -
How to find vehicle spawn point from logs?

would also like to know how to interpretate the coordinates. A scripter portet all vehicles of our server and all players to his location, killed everyone and moved the vehicles to an unknown location. We got the logs but we do not find any vehicles till now. -
I think you didn't read the post you quoted. In absolutely no context did I mention punishment for death. The person I was replying to (Sula) stated that there should be PvE only servers. Since you seem unclear as to what my post was about, a PvE server would have any player damage nullified. In Sula's preferred server type, it would be impossible to die outside of from zombies or the environment. I was then replying and saying how it was ridiculous (woops, i know you hate certain words like that. Sorry? I guess using that word voids my entire argument now :\ shucks) I fully support harsh punishments for death. If anything, I push for more harsh penalties for death -- where they make sense and are implementable. Your proposed ideas are cuddle bear ideas that are all aimed about "I don't like that people loot gear and be a threat to me so readily :( I don't like that people can take vehicles and be a threat to me :( I don't like that people can store items in tents and become a quicker threat to me :(" and you want rules to force people to be less of a threat to you. Not me, I want the challenge. Bring me your geared folk and let me fight'em, I don't want the shore line kiddies with crowbars that you want to combat. This is why I find it ironic that you're claiming to push for a harsher game when you're essentially trying to make the game easier. I agree, stop trying to make the game as easy as CoD and let Rocket have his design. Your ideas are terrible in any of the forms you've shaped/constantly changed them to throughout the entire 4 page thread.

I've had vehicles disappear when trying to destroy them instead of exploding, only to return to the same spot after a restart. Could be something similar here, or someone teleported the vehicle.

Firstly if you read the thread you will see it mentioned several times that the amount of work needed to get a vehicle going would have to be reduced. Secondly I don't understand why you are so attached to the current system for vehicles, it is busted as all fuck and simply doesn't work. I would understand people getting upset if there was a working system that my recommendation would interrupt but there isn't, I can bet my left one that rocket never intended for vehicles to reach a point in this game where they may as well not even exist for all the part they play.

Cannabundo using Global Ban bypass

I play on 3061 often, and have fallen victim to Cannabundo teleported vehicles and people. There were only a few people on the server when it happened. All of which I know aside from Cannabundo. He was wearing the soldier fatigues, using godmode and had a thermal AS50. I unloaded an entire clip into his face and he started laughing then proceeded to spray my brains all over the place. I don't know of a program he could use that would hide his actions from the logs, but somehow hes doing it. -
John, I knew that it was you because when you stole the copter the only other people in the server were friends who I communicate with directly (this is something any player can, and does, do, and doesn't take admin powers). You're ignoring the fact that I didn't immediately ban you when I found out the chopper was gone. Instead, I was in the process of running a manhunt (i.e. playing the game fairly) when Killer101 discovered a hacker in possession of the chopper. It's pretty clear logic that I should start looking at the last person known to have the chopper when I'm looking for the hacker. I was wrong, obviously, and I'm sorry that you got kicked, but it was pretty incidental. We don't hack. We play intelligently and we're proud of the time we spend and the prizes we earn. We were exactly as well-equipped on the other servers we played on, but we kept getting ruined by hackers so we decided to buy our own server so that we could play fairly and have some small ability to protect ourselves. It's not difficult to keep up with good weapons and ammo if you do frequent airfield runs, which is a common quest when you control vehicles. If you want to ask me specific questions then fine, but I'm not going to keep wasting energy defending myself and my friends against broad accusations if you're not willing to believe anything I say. -Joker

This game is as much a human behaviour simulator as it is a Zombie simulator... picture yourself deep within the zombie apocalypse and theres but a handfull of people left alive in the district. You have arguably one of only a couple functioning vehicles left within miles and your offering to pick up random hitchhikers? Probably better you learn this lesson now then in the real world but it aint safe picking up randoms off the side of the road at the best of times let alone when everyone is in SHTF mode. -
This is the biggest reason why Day Z has become boring for me these days. Literally the only thing that is a threat to survival is other players. And while that should definitely be one of the biggest threats no matter what, it's currently the ONLY threat, and it makes it boring. Especially with these new maps popping up (non-Chernarus) that are basically handing you weapons, vehicles, and supplies as soon as you enter the game. It makes it very boring. It's basically Day Z: Deathmatch. If I wanted that, I'd go play Arma 2 or some other shooter. I want Day Z to be brutal to survive in, no matter if it's from players, zombies, or the environment. But right now, especially with all the new maps, it's simply another shooter that's zombie themed. It's not that fun.

I'm running a private Dayz Vilayer server at the moment and we've been having a lot of issues with battleye randomly kicking people. Given that its a passworded server and I personally know each of the gamers, is it possible to turn off battleye and turn it on when its unlocked. Another issue is with heli crashes, when they spawn there is no gear appearing in 2 out of 3 of the crashes. We usually approach with a car, then drop out about 3-400 meters out then walk in. Is there any reason why this happens and is there a resolution for it? When the server is reset, vehicles that aren't saved should respawn at a different location. Tonight the helicopter respawned at Rog inside the castle, so a quick reset and it respawned then exploded in Rog, so a third reset caused it to again respawn at Rog inside the castle. We're gonna give it a shot and repair it but I'm doubtful that it'll survive.

You're missing my point, maybe I did not make this clear enough. Currently repairing a car and keeping it up and running is a huge investment. You have to find a car wreck, search and find all the parts to repair it, get the fuel for it and finally find a decent hiding spot. Stealing a car on the other hand requires absolutely no investment on the part of the thief. In the simplest case he simply stumbles across the vehicle and takes it. No investment at all. In the most expensive case he travels around the well known spots for car hiding and takes the next best car he finds. The resources invested are still very low. By forcing a thief to actually break the car to steal it, you force him to make an actual investment in stealing the car. Either he has to be carrying around a crowbar and a car wheel all the time, or he has to pick up those items, after he found the vehicle he is going to hijack. This greatly increases the resource investment for the potential thief. Stealing a clamped car, is not simply something you can do by chance. You will have to invest time in it. Yes, he can still steal the gear, gas, whatever. But he won't be easily able to just grab the car and drive off with it. He will actually have to invest ressources himself to be able to gain control of the car. This will greatly change the value of vehicles for the positive. Most of you probably don't give a f*ck about vehicles, just as I usually do. I did explain why I don't give a shit about vehicles. The investments required far outweigh the benefits you reap - if you haven't simply stolen the vehicle by chance from someone else. Wheel clamps can shift this balance sheet a bit towards the positive. Wheel clamps would add to the game, and not remove from it. It has a positive effect on the value of vehicles, it adds a reason to the game to actually ever go back to a barn later than 30 minutes after spawning, it adds choices for the players owning the vehicle ("should I get out and look a long time for a wheel clamp, or should I simply find a very good hiding spot?"), it adds choices to players finding vehicles by chance ("shall I simply leave the car, blow it up if I have the resources to do so, or shall I venture out to find a crowbar, if I haven't got one yet, and pick up a replacement tire and actually steal the car?") and it makes venturing out to steal a car an entire small game scenario for itself. I don't see any reason to not add it. I see a couple of good reasons to do so.

wheel clamps..... so the only people who can steal your car are people who are actually out looking to steal a car, so basically this idea is on par with hiding the car in a decent spot.... as someone who doesn't use vehicles himself (they tend to make me to silly stuff like driving up and down cherno/nw airfield tootin the horn and flashing the lights like a fool I'd happily throw a grenade at any clamped car for lulz. wheel clamps would only prevent the people who arent interested in stealing cars from getting yours... -
I am the John that you were 'hunting'. As I put on the map in reply to your "I John, I dont know where you are but..." I put a who's hunting me, and finally a 'Ill be at anti sniper hill'... which I was making my way to... the helli was parked just off town, I was no more than 40 meters away (as I heard the convo between killer and G) I also watched G put a whole mag into killers head. killer says 'you're hacking' and G says you're hacking too... it was just about here when you kicked me. You abuse admin powers (when I took the helli you were not on the server, so you has to be abusing your admin powers looking back to see that it was indeed me that took it) Like I said to you in another form of communication. You want to play like that make your server private. If its a public server then play by the public server rules. Oh, and your camp, yes the ADMIN of this servers camp (139:039 apx) has numerous AS50 TWS's! along with other hacked in guns, duping in tents. The brown url had some pretty good fire power in it too. I used the satchel charges in it to blow it and the heli up. Really, again, no rightious indignation wanted or accepted. and you call me a troll. Yes Joker, you know now that I know what I'm talking about even if I cant 'prove' it to the general masses... The masses at least can go look at your tents though. EDIT: I was the first guy you kicked. NOT Gpeck, Looking at that video again, I bet the guy that shot at you was a hacker with player shield on but no god mode, killer was between you and he. Killer was killed by player shield but you weren't? you got the shot on him. Maybe that's why you felt the urge to say that the second attack you don't think was a hacker... covers up your resident hacker (killer101) hacks. Second EDIT: To sum up, you are an abusive admin that indiscriminately kicks players, uses server resets to keep 'your' vehicles safe in your care for your use, and has a resident hacker that because he 'works' for you, you're ok with. I AM NOT DEFENDING Gpeck IN ANY WAY SHAPE OR FORM here. I am calling the server admin out for his high crimes and misdemeanors.
