Remove 3rd person or make it worse

Sure, DayZ is such a big environment that makes 3rd person camera look impossible to replace but u only think that because you have always played with that camera from the very beginning of the game.

Another situation! The rooftop of the elektro school: An sniper camping there in 3rd person,lying, will see enemies that are on the street/supermarket and those enemies again without exposing himself. Only chance to see this guy is, in this case, going to the sniper mountain and check if there is somebody in that rooftop.

There are lots of simillar situations in DayZ, don't say no, u would be lying.

I know there is controversy about this and sorry but 3rd person camera is OVERPOWERED.

I just play on expert servers. No third person, no magic map, no crosshairs. You should try it, it's a far better game like that.

I play both 1st and 3rd. When traveling distance the first person makes me motion sick, but in town and buildings, etc it's always first person. I agree 3rd person can make it easier to spot over a wall or around a corner. You always have an option to play with it off on other servers.

Well, if you think About it both players can use Third person. So no one has has advantage or disadvantage.

It's a server setting.. I don't see the big deal about that. If you only want first person join the servers with it disabled. Til then I like having it for when I am not sniping. ;)

When you say pretty common what you mean is it almost never happens except to you and the three other people who only play in first person on servers where both are enabled right? I am joking but have you ever wondered why servers that have third person removed are always usually low population?

Man today is a bad day for Dayz foruming. It is an unpopular server option for a reason, the player base has spoken and they like third person. I normally prefer first person over third person, but in this game I hate doing anything but fighting in first person and yes I have turned head bob off and it mildly helps. I do not know what makes me hate first person so much in this game and this game only, but it bothers me. If the standalone makes first person better maybe I will switch back to my normal comfort zone, but they should still make it a server option and not force it on the entire community.

Your personal preference is just that, your preference. Stop pretending everyone else has to share that preference.

Think you meant me...I've tried both ways headbob on and off, and it's only in this game. I think it's more of a field of view thing...or the blur effect when you look around while moving. Not quite sure but I still like 3rd for open terrain movement.

No, third person is amazing its nice to have a change and chill out in third person rather than always being in first constantly looking around. There are servers were only first is allowed you should play those, for me I like the tactical advantage 3rd person gives you..sometimes im on the advantage, sometimes im the one with the disadvantage, its the way it goes :P

The first person view of arme is shit because the enginge is shit. It feels like a bad ported console game.

In towns the third person view is a advantage while in nature first person view is better.(eg goning out a bush, your body is outside but the camera still inside the bush so the enemy can see you and you see bush only)

I agree with Knox. If they remove 3rd person I will quit that day. I become physically ill from 1st person view. Even with the headbob off, the act of looking around makes me motion sick. Even in third person the camera movements get to me after awhile. That's why I haven't really played any Call of Duty, Borderlands, Battlefield, or any game games with only 1st person. I almost quit on the first day of playing DayZ, until my friend told me that 3rd person was available. I only go into 1st person when I use scope/iron sights.

I have a friend with the same issue. Most FPS games make him feel sick after a while. Weird. I wouldn't worry though, there's no way they are going to remove 3rd person view.

Maybe is fov, which is slightly higher than in first person, but I don't know...

Anyway, I think that a system in which third person doesn't allow looking through walls is indeed possible...

I would probably not play DayZ if third person was disabled. However, not because it MIGHT make the game more tactical, but because of the point you mentioned in your OP: "3rd person camera look impossible to replace but u only think that because you have always played with that camera from the very beginning of the game"

Anyways, disabling third person would be a EXTREMELY foolish mistake on Rocket and his goon squad's part. Why not just make a number of servers with 3rd person and some without. The amount of servers for each would be in relation to the amount of players who prefer third person of course.

Unfortunately there is no point in playing solely first person on a server that allows 3rd person. The tactical advantage they have is huge.

Some people dont like first person and just use 3rd for everything (i cant play in rd person during combat!)

In some ways i wish 3rd person was disabled completely like Side Chat was, but i think the whingefest would be huge.

But as has been said, play on Expert servers and the experience is so much better and fairer.

I say keep both 1st and 3rd view options, but try and tweak them so 3rd person

doesn't have such a big advantage when looking around (drop the camera angle a bit lower maybe?... Like Res Evil? dunno)

Then, fix FOV in first person, and eliminate all head-bob (it's still there when I put my slider to minimum). Make it smooth and fast.

I use both modes, but in first person, I double tap "-" on the number pad to go to a wider field of view (for those who didn't already know this)

Steak and Potatoes uses 3rd person. Steak and Potatoes is stupid and not good at first person unless steak and potaotes is driving or flying.. Were supposed to put our posts in 3 rd person right?
