Why did I trust him

Recommended Posts

I met this 12 year old sounding dude and he had an AK. We kinda grouped together for a while and I gave him some good stuff and even medical attention. Right as I was about to log off (Which I never should have said) he asked ''Can I ask you a question?'' and started spraying AK bullets at me in the pub. I didn't have time to abort and died. I then said ''Really?'' and he went ''I'M A BANDIT BRO!''.

He had a survivor skin.

God damn it. Losing 4 hours of progress over this shit is really painful. I'm a medic, I don't kill intentionally, neither do I had anything except an AKM, and morphine in which he could have used. Everything required 2 players. I really don't know why.

New rule of engagement, never, and this goes to everyone. Never EVER trust a 12 year old, they MUST be shot on sight. I'm serious.

Well I am 13, so I can be trusted, right?

Joking, but really, if you give me a name and the location of this guy, I will be glad to leave his corpse with a fine Lee Enfeild round to the head. :)

Unless you shoot at me and then we become friends, then that trust barrier is never fully there.

Sure, if you thnk you can take the mofo down here's a few info

US 2570

Either carries an AK-74 or an AKM (My AKM)

Is most likely in Cherno at the moment

Sound's like a 12-13-14 years old shit

Will try to get a trust bond with you (And shoot you in the back, so you can use this to your advantage if you're feeling lucky)

I will be happy to let you know that he was unlucky enough to come across me in elektro, with him shooting zombies in the middle of a road, while I gleefully put an AK round through his head :)

He was about to log off...

That kill he mentions is fully legit, you're not supposed to combat log on everyone who is about to kill you for your own stupidity.

Well first off, if you're a good guy, you must have encountered other players that are bandits. It's great to give someone some help, and get them off their feet. I have the Hero Skin, I'm a good guy through and through but, if I don't know them on a personal level, I'll help then leave. Just a word of advice, don't trust anyone over the internet.

I kinda do really. The server welcome message was well ''Only trust your beans....'' but it really is kind of a pain in the ass losing so much time for that sort of shenanigan.

True, Half of my encounters with people are ''Hey what's up? What you doing? Need any medical stuff?'' and I leave. But this was different, and sadly, i fell into a stupid trust trap. And i assume the consequences.

Oh well, starting again isn't so bad really!

You my friend deserve so much more than beans that I gave you. Kudos.

Don't worry mate, life goes on. I just lost my tent and vehicle so I don't have any place to store any items.

My personal theory is that announcing that you're going to leave is always an offer to be killed if the person is insecure.

I think your common garden-variety bandit (especially teenage ones) are desperate to be the dominant powerful people in society. Most bandits, I believe, are coming from a competitive shooter background which means win-lose is the name of the game, they don't even consider themselves to have won anything unless somebody else loses, which is why they kill even the unarmed. When they perceive you as rejecting them by leaving you (the rejector) assume the dominant powerful role, they (the rejectee) assume the weak role and they just lost any power they thought they had which makes them very, very vengeful. This takes a new level of insecurity to act like this...but, welcome to the internet.

If you've ever met a skiddie in the game you'll be familiar with this exact scenario. The bandit ones either try to dominate everyone by arming themselves with huge firepower or killing everyone on their whim. The friendly ones give out 'charity' in the form of scripted loot, but if you tell them you don't want it and you don't want to be around them you take away all the power they have and you're back to being the rejector, which they generally don't take kindly to it.

If a player is too clingy, too interested, friendly and willing to stick around up front - then I'm worried, because they're probably really insecure. If they're just as wary of me as I am of them - perfect. Then maybe we can roll together for a time but as soon as I sense any overly sketchy behaviour it's time to duck out. I have no issue disappearing from sight and making a quick exit if someone sounds like they want to be my stalker or executioner. It generally works, I've never been betrayed after rolling with someone for over 15 minutes.

...I am glad I am not part of the majority.

Just came across a guy in Elektro, calling himself the "Elektro Police" asking me for a matchbox. I kindly gave him it, since there was another in the supermarket. We discussed a few things before we began getting shot by a sniper (who I must say is a horrible shot). We devised a plan to quickly get to the hospital without being shot, as he required a blood transfusion. We sprinted across, went through the school, and went behind the hospital to get inside. I finally gave him the transfusion, and we parted ways.

Thanks to my very mature voice (and personality), I survived with a compliment of being told that I sound like I was on Youtube, and we parted ways.
