sostronk 334 Posted October 7, 2012 Private servers. Its really hard to break old habits though. I recently tried to do this and people came at me and I killed them back into the unfix-able figures. Bandit skin for lyfe I guess.
declan223@gmail.com 271 Posted October 7, 2012 Just 'humanity farm' with blood bags, bandages etc. Get a friend to help you, they go out, get hit by zombie, come back in, you blood bag them, they go out again etc
Hatchet_Man 30 Posted October 7, 2012 (edited) Your humanity will increase slowly all the way up to +2500 if you don't kill other players each game session. The Wiki says 30 points per minute, but I'm not sure that's right.I've resisted player killing the whole time (since April) and only ever killed a guy once by accident. I was trying to give him a blood transfusion, but one of us moved and the menu disappeared for a split second and I shot him in the face. Sorry wounded survivor dude. :(Once you reach 5000 humanity, you attain hero status. But it's currently bugged. The display value resets to zero, but behind the scenes it increases by 150 every 20 minutes or so.There's also another glitch where if you wear different clothing, your humanity will increase each session, even though the display value is incorrect. As of the current patch, there's no real way to see your actual humanity value. It's a combination of all your past good and evil deeds, affected by a confusing display value that seems to reset to zero when you swap clothing or become a hero.I suggest you bandage / morphine / give painkillers / blood transfusions to as many survivors as possible to speed up the process.Being a hero doesn't mean being a goody-goody. It just means you finally understand the game. :) Edited October 7, 2012 by Hatchet_Man

reuben5150 83 Posted October 7, 2012 So the debug monitor dictates which skin you wear ? Somehow I don't believe it, if humanity is really been recorded correctly then why are skins not reflecting that, I hope the mod is not going to be left in this state. Hatchet_Man 30 Posted October 8, 2012 (edited) If you're below 5000 humanity (a survivor or bandit), I believe the correct value is shown on the debug monitor.Once you blood bag your way above 5000, it still keeps a tally of your overall humanity, but resets the display value to zero, which then increases by 150 every 20 minutes. When you log out, it adds whatever temporary value you've accrued during that play session to your overall humanity value. That's the current bug. It means hero status will keep increasing your humanity each game session, provided you don't kill other players. So I have no idea what my actual humanity value is. It might be 20,000 but I can't actually see it displayed.Heroes get a swanky white flannelette shirt that's bound to get you noticed amongst the trees, so it's not the kind of bonus that's truly worthy of all the effort it takes to get one,You can sprint a little faster than other players, up until the point you start panting. So you could outrun a bandit over a short distance. Not sure the practicality of this though. And you're supposedly resistant to small arms fire like Makarov and M1911, but I'm usually shot at by higher caliber weapons than those, so again, not sure the practicality of it.I don't think redesigning the hero skin is high on their list of development priorities, but I would like to see more of a camo style hero skin. major.skrewup@gmail.com 177 Posted October 8, 2012 (edited) yeah, humanity increases @ a rate of 1000 each 10 minutes you stay in a church (you have to stay in the church the entire time or the timer resets and it only updates each 10 minutes.) trust me, I know it does, 100% truth.if you are that concerned head down south, hide somewhere that doesn't get much traffic (west of kemenka for instance) and starve to death or kill yourself with an m67, respawn, take back your gear and voila 0 humanity. nckko 1 Posted October 8, 2012 (edited) I've actually done this with a friend a few days ago, my humanity was at -75k.Still to this day I have no clue how my humanity got to -75k because I have never killed anyone, but whatever. It will take a while to get back to 0, but if you have a friend who is willing to help you, you'll get there soon enough. It only took me about 1 day. :) Edited October 8, 2012 by NCKKO

CF Donuts 25 Posted October 8, 2012 I'm currently a hero and could never understand why my humanity reset to 0. Killed my first person ever (kill or be killed) and I hit the negatives but was still a hero. Good stuff
