Top 7 Reasons to play Utes Map

Recommended Posts

1. It's Intense. The Utes map delivers some much needed intensity. Lets face it it's no longer difficult to merely stay alive in Dayz. Having troubles finding beans and cola ,, really? So why are you playing then,? What is the reason to walk for miles to find that nice rifle? Shoot people, or shoot zombies. Welcome to island of Utes. Same thing minus the Virtual Forrest walking simulator experience.

2. Keeps those seeking pure zombie infused PVP in a single community and away from the scornful disapproving eyes of the almightily and morally discerning dayz purists.

3. Target Practice - Even for the extreme super nice guy role player: once in while you should try out some weapons on other humans to prepare for the very unlikely event that a hostile stranger should wander into your far north woodlands hideout while you are reading a virtual book.

4. Arma 2 multiplayer is virtually dead. I can't for the life of me find a decent team/deathmach server that doesn't have you walking around with an entire virtual army with you. No Team vs Team shootouts.

5. BF3 and COD sucks. If you have been playing dayz for more than a month. I need not explain.

6. No complaining or butthurt. How can one complain when the intents of every single person is pointed in the same direction: Stay alive while killing people.

7. Think you are a tough guy Dayz pro? On "Cherno Patrol" sniping flashlight toting spawns? Come on big guy lets see how you fair when your targets shoot back.

Have fun out there and remember don't shoot unarmed people, thats just noobish poor sportsmanship.

Utes is a fun distraction from the other maps, but to me feels like someone wants to play ArmA2 (which you thankfully included in your post or else I would say go play ArmA2 if you want a deathmatch). I have had some fun times on the map, but the new spawn killing is out of control and I usually get shot before getting a weapon more than half the time. Like you pointed out it can be great for those who might not like PvP but would need to brush up on the mechanics of PvP for emergencies without feeling bad about killing another player. Funniest moment I had on the map was a guy getting mad because people kept shooting him on sight, come on man if you look around that map for more than five minutes you understand that is what it is for. I might disagree with BF3 sucking, but that is merely an opinion and not a fact set in stone.

No offense, but I have no idea what you're trying to sell here.

There is really not much content in this "why you should"...

ps. In my opinion BF3 and COD are decent shooties.

Yeah I should have mentioned it's nice for a "distraction" . Don't get me wrong I'm not trying to take anything away form the normal mod. I've played many many hours and enjoyed it emmensly. It's just, well , it's getting stale, but I still love playing the mod.

For practice yeah sometimes if you haven't seen someone in a long time while treading though the forrest , seeing someone gets you so jumpy that the aim and timing is way off.

Also BF3 is decent in it's own way , I shouldn't slam it so hard. It's funny how quickly it went from super awesome in my opinion to a senseless button masher in a matter of months. and I'm a long time BF player (since BF1942). I'm now using my BF3 install disc as a coaster, for real.

I agree Utes is a PvP wonderland.

However, you say dont shoot the unarmed - that philosphy might work in Chernarus but in Utes you pretty much know that if you leave a guy alone he will find a gun and shoot you in the back at some point. Why leave a threat.

I have been shot many a time unarmed in Utes.

What i agree with though is dont camp near the island where you seem to spawn all the time.

It still doesn't compare to Chernarus.

Agree. I have played on all the new maps and i still keep coming back to the Motherland.

Wait, this exists? Man I need to brush up on community content, every time I think I have played it all I get pulled back in.

Just look up "Deathmatch Elektro" in DayZ commander, all servers are EU though

Never played CoD, but BF3 does not suck, these are different games and you cant compare them at all.

Virtual Forrest walking simulator experience.

I like this part. It's why Utes does not attract me.

Only one thing happens on Utes "Deathmatch" and it gets stale after awhile, like every other FPS...

No paranoia = Just running around all rambo style, die and respawn (Rinse & Repeat/Rinse & Repeat)..... Its just so tedious.

I agree but what is keeping you playing dayz normal style? Doesn't the endless walking or waiting prone grow tedious for you?

It's the long moments of running through woods, fields and seeing noone that makes the other stuff more enjoyable.

When it comes time for some throwdown, you're not desensitized to the action.Your palms are sweating, you're tense and the adrenaline rush is that much more intense.

I played Utez 1 night. Didn't care much for it. Although I did have fun taking down an AS50 guy from 75m away with my makarov. I was standing in the open almost in front of him and for whatever reason, he just couldn't spot me as I tossed 3 magazines at him. Good fun.

As "Taco" has stated, you just dont know when or if your going to come across another survivor or bandit, making the paranoia constant in your mind.

Because on Chernarus you want to survive playing Dayz "Normal Style" and I dont mind the walking or running everywhere because i get immersed into the environment. Think about it, no one go's onto Utes map looking to survive, they just want to kill eachother..... So if your looking for a quick "adrenaline rush" then maybe Utes is a good map, but it just gets less interesting after an hour...

The intensity of Utes cannot be argued against. My first experience was the day it came out on a night server illuminated only by the fires of helicopter crashes, while 40 survivors armed with FALs hunted each other down.

Only a couple of your reasons support your title.. I am not sure what the point of this is.

So Utes is basically COD with zombies? Only with much more realistic weapons physics. Sounds like fun!

Yeah basically you summed it up correct, and it is great fun! Like cod or BF3 but more realistic and a little harder + you respawn with nothing which is cool.

It's a good break form the monotony of the forrest simulator.

Don't hate purist dudes, it's a map you play for a break or change up. It's not a new religion or anything. Normal Dayz is still safe as I'm sure everyone wants it to be. If anything those ghastly pvp players will have an outlet for a while, while you....... yeah...

I agree that COD sucks, but comparing a small map, COMPLETILY different game (mod) to BF3? Really. I am still playing BF3 daily and it does not suck. C:

My opinion,

1. The play area is too small.

2. Weapons are hard to find.

3. The airfield is too dangerous.

4. Survival is not possible.

5. Crashed heli sites are pointless unless you are first to it..

6. New spawns are too limited

7. Not enough enterable buildings.
