so i woke from my coma today i see a tent with 2 bodies around it. Being an awesome ninja genius i then sprint there and check it. BANG a bullet hits the tent so i grab the g17 my mouse was over and run into the nearby firestation. He then calls me a coward for running and i take that as a challenge so i spot him and shoot at him with my g17. I suprisingly hit him with it in the leg... He disconnects so i simply laugh and check the area. After grabbing a m1014 with no ammo i get ready to leave.

Pop there he is 5 feet ahead of me at the window i was standing at with his pdw out. So i light him up with my g17 and kill him... apperanlty im now a hacker and i will soon be banned. So ya odd morals guys :D

But you have to remember that this is a zombie survival game. It is about surviving and if you feel you don't have a tactical advantage then you risk death and only a retard would want to die and have to start over.

He is quite correct in saying that this is a survival game. Not a dying game. If you have no advantage then the absolute best thing to do is find some cover and do a runner.

This. Ambush, deceit and staying still (camping) are all realistic to the situation of this game and combat generally. I guess they could make a Napoleonic DayZ DLC, where you march upto 20 meters from the enemy, sound a horn and draw your weapon

... i admire your comittment , but as a very wise man once said.....Choose your battles wisely. After all, life isn't measured by how many times you stood up to fight. It's not winning battles that makes you happy, but it's how many times you turned away and chose to look into a better direction.

Alt f4 is of course never an option. Living to fight another day always is.

If you're standing there with a g17 and get attacked by a guy with a much better weapon it makes sense to find cover and possibly get out of there. That doesn't make you a coward by any means. Smart maybe but not a coward.

I never promoted dying in any sort of manner, I just prefer to deal with any problems with direct thinking and tactical use. If I am getting shot from a certain direction, I am going to have to find a flank to get the shooter at, or leave from a different direction.

Not saying it's ok to die, I am just saying it's better to die fighting than to solve you problems by 2 simple buttons.

I will agree with the whole never alt F4ing. Such a ... exploiting move...however some snipers are good. I prefer to avoid being "behind the lens at 600m" but if I was going to do it...it'd be at 1000 meters :P

Joking aside. I really like the urban combat that can go on. Seeing as if you are running through Cherno, guy fires at you and misses. You can follow the zombie trail to attempt to take him out.

As far as derpy-hooves is saying "Come fight me like a man", just so you know pookie, there is no bare knuckle boxing in DayZ. Challenge accepted if their was! *offers muffins8

Camping and sniping isn't a coward action...this is not Call of Duty, where camping is silly. This is a mod of Arma 2, thus camping is a 'valid tactic'. I mean, if I know you're in a room somewhere and I have a valid reason to kill you, and there is no other way to approach the situation, then I'm going to camp you until we both die from starvation. As is sniping. Although, sniping freshspawns is a different story...
