Crazy conspiracy theory about hackers

Recommended Posts

So here's my crazy conspiracy theory about why hacking is so widespread in this game.

Sure, there are a lot of bored 13 year olds who get a power trip from nuking entire servers, but maybe there's something more sinister going on.

I mean, the new Call of Duty game is due for release in November. Maybe some of these hackers are in fact Activision employees, trying to ruin the DayZ experience so that people will come crawling back to CoD. They can't have ignored how popular DayZ has become.

Or I'm just a complete conspiracy nut.

They know people will come crawling back to call of duty...hopefully this is the last maybe next year people wont even bither cause they know the game will be the same as always

Conspiracy theories usually have some sort of evidence to back up the idea. Do you have any, because this doesn't sound reasonable at all. The Call of Duty series is engrained in a lot of people's wallets, because people keep dishing out big bucks for reskinned version of Call of Duty 4. Activision could release Modern Warfare 4 as a gay pornographic RPG, and it would still break sales records.

Edit: Hacking is so rampant because the reward greatly outweighs the risk with the current state of BattleEye.

Most of the hackers will hopefully piss off when the next "big game" comes out.

As for Activision employees doing this sort of thing...i'd like to think not, as it would be extremely petty and could do more damage than good if they were ever found out.

But some people are just twats unfortunately. Such is life...so who can say for sure who is capable of what.

Dude Its been the same for the last(at least) 3 CoD games....Activision can pick cs 1.6 engine, change the textures and call it CoDMW 27, 98% of the players will buy it anyways.

If hacks are really starting to annoy you however, just go outside... yes outside, surprisingly there are no hacks outside... and fresh air may help you refrain from losing the plot and making silly Threads on the forums

Paranoid much? There's a lot of hackers in DayZ because it's popular and because the Arma II engine was built for allowing and supporting community modification(s).

For the most part, I agree with you. The thing is, hacking isn't any more rewarding now than it was 2 months ago, yet it seems to be so much more widespread now. 2 months ago, I might get killed by a hacker once in a week if I'm unlucky. Now, I consider it a good day if a hacker only kills every player on the server I'm on once,

I went outside today to buy some beans, but it's just not as exciting when the people I walk past on the street aren't trying to eat my brains.

So tell me this. If Activision were actually responsible for hacking (a laughable idea by the way) then who the fuck is it that is forever hacking on COD?

If anything, that will make DayZ better! Anyone who ditches DayZ/Arma to go back to CoD really shouldn't be here in the first place.

Black Ops 2 WON'T BE THE SAME. Treyarch have taken it into a new direction; they took a risk, which I congratulate them for.

Of course, the engine and MP may be similar, but other factors of the game won't. Zombies is going to have a shittone of original shit, and that's why I'm buying it, perhaps.
