Hives.

Recommended Posts

How are hives supposed to protect from hackers? After being killed by the 4th time of a hacker I decided to try out a hive and on literally the second day I get teleported into far outside the map after finding and spending an hour on repairing an off-roader car. I was informed that hives were supposed to be hack-free, so yeah.

Hackers killed this game.

Well it would depend on the server/private hive and what anti-cheat system they have in place, they aren't all the same.

Hackers don't normally attack the hive. The attack the servers they play on. It is up to Battleye or to the server admins to catch them and ban them. More so for Battleye. I think DayZ needs a better anti-hack tool. One that has almost daily updates.

^ think he was talking about servers on private hives.

Some have anti-hacker tools that kick when scripts or weapons are loaded. Some use standard battle eye.

But no, nothing is hack free...

First things first; There is only ONE hive.

Who ever told you that private "hives" are "hack free" lied to you. BIG TIME.

Before 1.7.2 there used to be only the DayZ hive, and private servers weren't allowed.

Hackers were rampant because server admins weren't allowed to ban the people on their servers.

Now that people have private servers and are allowed to ban people with proof (logs), it's safer.

When a server admin detects a hacker, he can be banned almost instantly from the server.

Hackers don't tend to bother with non-hive servers since they can get banned from them easily.

Therefor they are safer to play on.
