How to instantly make dayz more fun

Recommended Posts

well that was a pretty rude way to put it, but I agree, zombies should be more threatening, although, you should start with some defense mechanism other than "oh shit let me run for a few miles".

And for the people saying "screw the zombies, I want pvp"... what the fuck guys, get on some vanilla OA servers... I swear, those things are dead as hell right now, and they're essentially 100% pvp. I got the damn game for mil sim, but all I could find were day Z servers :/. Long story short, stronger zombies, base level defense, if you're only in for pvp why the hell aren't you on vanilla servers?

If they fix item duping and infinite ammo (as well as combat log-outs to lose aggro), then zombies will become much more of a threat.

If you can't log-out when being chased by zombies, and on top of that ammo is actually rare (like its supposed to be), then zombies become much more of a threat

You do not need to dupe ammo to survive the current zombies, you just have to look for a building with two entrances, run inside and wait for a couple of seconds and then run out the other door. It really is that simple so without a fix zombies will remain pathetic and easy even with zero ammo.

Zombie survival mode: take your friends, bring weapons you had to scavenge from minor loot spawns, use your brain, clear a path... U know.. Like in every zombie movie ever?

Pretty sure I've seen more zombie movies featuring slow, weak, shambling zombies that are painfully easy to dodge than I have zombie movies where they're so threatening you need to clear a path to move.

Yeah agreed. they need that "28 Days Later" approach about them, actual infected that make you think twice before you go sprinting into Elktro!

Zombies need to be much much harder but I'm not judging the standalone by the weak zombies in the current game. Hopefully they'll have more power to modify the AI with full access to the game and bring us some serious threats. Zombies near the coast need to be a bit easier for the noobs compared to the zombies at the NW and NE airfields. I want those places to be a living nightmare of military zombies if flak jackets (more shots needed to drop them), helmets (harder headshots), NV (making some completely blind during the day but extremely dangerous at night), and obviously better pathing in the hangers. Stuff like that. Just my two cents.

Zombies running in doors is definitely a must. That alone would force players to work together more. And obvious the hiding in the tree needs to go.

I don't like this idea in my own opinion, I'm more interested in PvP. Zombies are already a huge annoyance when in a firefight, no need to make it any worse.

It's a zombie survival game idiot.

Completely agree with you OP. The PvE in this game is a complete joke so people get bored of the game and either leave or play Cherno Deathmatch.

I would also like to see more difficult Zeds along with Zombies being able to run, without bugging through walls and shit, in house's and being able to damage vehicles. Since I find myself jumping into cars to lose zombies.

The high end gear I can live with and it adds to the game. PvP is something that makes this game that much more exciting so for all of you guys that whine about the PvP, go play on low pop servers were there is a lower chance of running into another person.

One thing that I have been doing myself that I find enjoyable is not carrying a backpack at all. Just the food, drinks, and ammo that I can carry and nothing else. It adds a small touch. But I am one of those people that once dead either run or get picked up and taken to base camp and just get restocked.

I tend to go one solo mission to Elektro and just try to run into people. Even if it means me getting shot I enjoy not knowing how someone will react to me.

I am in a Hero skin and I love the skin but if I feel you are a threat to me I will shoot first. I'm not attached or think that I NEED the hero skin.

Just how I play and my feel for the game. :)

It is a joke that zombies can tear across the countryside endlessly but the moment they cross the magical threshold of a doorway they start to walk. How very fucking convenient. Could they possibly fall over and die as well so i dont have to waste ammo?

There are two options. Make shitloads more zombies but make them slower, or allow all the current zombies to run everywhere.

Oh and get rid of the "zombies have spawned so there must be a player around" effect as well. It is what some snipers rely on. If a server can handle 500+ zombies when players are in populated zones cant we just have that number to start with?

Let the true apocalyspe begin

well rocket is all aware of these items on this list, exspecially how not scary zombies are.... standalone is changing that.

Easy & painfree way to have fun. leave gear in tent & but keep hold of a effective close range weapon and go meet people, usually by sneeking up onto them and saying friendly? through comms :D

Seeing how players react is very interesting i must say. Some invite you back to their camp while others just plain out try to kill you; this is where your weapon comes in handy :)
