Did not see this, was this posted on the forums? My apologies if it was, but, there's nothing new there is there? These things were mentioned a while ago as possible things and things they hoped they would do! I have not seen any pictures nor footage of gameplay, to me it's strange as the standalone is supposed to be out soon (something to wet the teeth if you know what I mean)

That may be too much to ask for perhaps, due to the dev side and a few paragraphs on stuff we already know or heard about does not give me any new info at all. Seen a lot of recent interviews while Rocket was out and about. I follow the news re this mod /standalone but seeing something would be nice. What I have seen and actually witnessed is a community working to minimise hackers and adding new content, hence why I think the mod will live on in some guise of form.

As I said perhaps this is too much to ask for, I'm just dying to see the SA stuff.

Depends on how the standalone is gonna be. If they fuck it up in some horrible way (God Forbid) I will stick rather to this bug and glitch fest.

Besides. You can then have a bad character to just kill people on this mod here and play your normal thing on the standalone.

But what I really believe is that after the standalone there wont be much servers left here, because of everyone moving to the standalone. Almost no one will continue to play this, well not much at least.

Well you never know i think a fairly large hardcore section of the mods playerbase will stick around for while, considering i still play on a mod on another FPS called Darkest hour for red orchestra that was released 4 years ago they still have a decent sized playerbase that to this day continue to play the mod even after the sequel red orchestra 2 came out last year so if a little kown mod like that can last all those years im sure people will continue to play dayZ mod for a loooooong time.

Theres a possibility, but I'm sure most people will stick with the standalone but ill still play the mod just because of all the tents I have atm :D.

If you want to continue playing the mod as it turns into a hive (no pun intended) of hackers due to the standalone actually being able to restrict scripting that's your call I guess.

But if you think there are a lot of scripters now, just wait.

I currently presume the hives state when the standalone will be out will be flooded with mass duping & hacked weapons so probably not.

this is a no brainer if the standalone is more secure against hackers

i will definately wait a week or two before purchase. if its just the same thing ok i stick to the mod 100%. i doubt that very much tho
