While i may looke like one, i'm NOT a bandit!

Recommended Posts

My first reaction to the reintroduction to the bandit skin was positive. But now I don't like it anymore. I'm currently a bandit with -8000 humanity. Why? Because i kill people that shoot at me. All in self defense. And that seem to make me a bandit, even when i not. I can try to run away, but sometimes shooting the other survivor is the only way to live another day.

Does that make me a bandit that warrants a "shoot on sight" tag?

Find some camo clothing or a ghillie suit. Problem solved.

EDIT - Actually, ghillie suit is a bad idea. People will shoot at you even more than with a bandit skin. Camo is nice and neutral though.

I'm sure it does, but that's not a proper solution imo. I'm more interested in the game mechanics on this issue. The point being that a bandit is someone "bad" ...

That's why the game is pretty faulty in the Bandit/Survivor department right now. If your being shot at and the person isn't a bandit, you'll get negative points. Then you become a bandit, and to stay alive, you have to shoot back more cause people are going to shoot you, giving you even more.

I find it impossible to keep my bandit skin while playing as a bandit on lingor, you must have killed two or more people in quick succession to pull that off.

I got a bandit skin after shooting a player who had just shot at my friend with an Enfield. He had about 5 zombies chasing him my friend told me he was coming my way and I killed him. It was my first and only PVP with that spawn.

If you murder someone in selfdefense, maybe you should get out of Elektro for an hour or two.

Not all bandits are bandits, I meet two bandits in Cherno's church, one of them were shouting friendly friendly, atleast I think he did, but it was hard to hear him over the sound of my AK. A hero is someone who primarily helps other survivors or kill bandits, if you constantly place yourself in situations, where you are shooting at other survivors, you're either a good bandit or a bad hero.

So only kill bandits and dissengage from firefights with neutral survivors.

After being forced to murder in selfdefense, take a two hour adventure into the empty wilderness.

Or if you primarily prefere PvP in the cities, embrace the merry bandit lifestyle.

1. This is what happens when whiny people demand a PvP behavior flagging system. Or get it forced on them, which seems more likely here since Rocket doesn't seem to take no crap from nobody. Such systems never work due to being arbitrary and exploitable. They don't even remotely end up working the way people would wish them to.

2. It will wear off. If this is happening very frequently, then you're doing a really poor job staying out of trouble.

Yeah to get rid of my bandit skin, I just ran off out of the cities and did some small town searching, with around 7 or 8k negative humanity...I think it took...between 6 and 10 hours to lose. Something like 2 to 300 humanity gained every 20 minutes or long. I really don't remember how long it took lol

I have met a couple of friendly bandits but kos bandits are just to common. To make it easier on myself i have to kill them now. The one that tipped the balance i was talking to over direct asking if he could bag me, he had an enfield so i said you can also have my ak kob and ammo if you want, i was just going to find something else. When i showed myself he popped my melon instantly, i blame him for my now kos bandit approach.

Too many storis of 'self defence' from the urban turbans ;)

I say, all is fair in love and war, and if bandits can become heroes, then so can you. Go grab a heap of blood bags and then pop a round into a mate.

After finding a ghillie a hero started shooting at me with no provocation. So don't trust hero skins.

I believe you mean, "Rule number 1: Don't trust ghillie skins. Oh, whoops, I forgot that rule and put on a ghillie skin, my bad."

Yes, it is. But whats the point of running around with your head wrapped in a towel complaining about running around with your head wrapped in a towel if bandits are running around in hero skins.

<~ Has had a hero skin going on 2 weeks now.

Not even 20 minutes ago I shot a man for a pack of matches, a bandage, and a few cans of beans.

I still have the skin.

There is also the not-too-lethal way by shooting their limbs...works quite fine. My buddies survived by doing that because most players either don't have morphine or have to take them out of the backpack first giving them time to escape and leaving potential food for the Zeds ( the attacker DCs anyway when they are shot back ).

I even accidentally got the bandit skin once. I was looting a firehouse came down the steps and there was a guy standing there I panicked and opened fire boom murder number one. Then I crossed the street to a school and some guy followed me into the storage room and was standing right next to me boom murder number two. The second guy started talking to me after that and acknowledged that it was his fault for startling me.
