Laser Marker

Just found a laser marker on a dead body, which makes me think it's not supposed to be in the game. is it a hack or is it legit?

It's hacked, but I've come across 2 (currently still have one) I like them due to the Thermal you can use with it.

Ok. So i guess i'll have to drop it, unless i want to get banned? Don't expect admins will take hacked items pretty well?

You won't get banned for using hacked items, only the hacker who spawned them. Also if you're on a private hive I'd watch out as they might be a little more ban happy when they see a dude with a laser marker.

Laser Marker is the furthest away from useless as any tool can get. It has a range-finder, binocs, NV, and thermal.

The only legit laser sight is the one on the L85A2 AWS, that gun has a laser sight that can only be seen with night vision.

I'm not certain the Laser Designator actually projects a laser, I've never been able to trigger it.

The Laser Marker is used to call in an artillery-strike in ARMA2/OA. Since there are none in the map in Chernarus, you can't use it.

Not sure if you can -actually- project a laser, but someone can try by toggling the NV-mode and pressing L, N or which ever button you have set for flashlight. Can't remember exactly what button toggles it.

Familiar with the Hotkeys, neither worked, I think it's like the PEQ Box on the M4A3, it's just nonfunctional in DayZ.

You can't get globally banned but you are right, many admins will kick/ban if they see you with it on their server.

The laser sight works on the L8. That's all I've tried though.

Yeah, its not suppose to be in the game but it is pretty cool. In DayZ it acts almost like a rangefinder and a thermal scope its pretty sick.

Not to be an ass, but since idk how long you've played Dayz for, i'm just going to assume you've been playing for a decent amount of time for me to ask, have you ever even seen a plane fly overhead? Or heard anything man made other than a car that's been repaired by a player? Lol. Yes, it is hacked though. It's not even worth having unless for some ungodly reason you use it and an A10 scripts itself in and obliterates everything lol
