branimir1999 0 Posted September 15, 2012 So, I don't have this problem with any other game/mod except DayZ so it is logical to me to post the problem here. Okay, so I join a match and after let's say around 5 minutes I get the "no message recevied for x seconds" message. This happened the first time when I pretty much got the game, so this is annoying me to this date, is there any way to fix this?
FrankFisher 46 Posted September 15, 2012 Firstly what launcher are you using and do you have arma 2 combined ops on steam?
WM.Zach 8 Posted September 16, 2012 More then likely it's because your dropping connection "internet provider issue" or " not paying enought to get out of the dial up" if you do have a decent internet speed then try resetting your router or modem make sure you give your dayz launcher etc is up to date. Guest Posted September 16, 2012 What can I do to get on a server quicker. Is it a problem with the server or with my computer or with the speed of my connection. Takes literally about quarter of an hour to get on the game.
Ipurgepeople 106 Posted September 16, 2012 I don't know about your connection, but even with hi-speed connection, some servers will take 20 mins to load, while others take 30 seconds. Try different servers.
Hydra (DayZ) 472 Posted September 16, 2012 You might have the wrong beta/dayz version.
Guest Posted September 16, 2012 I've got fiber optic 30 meg connection. I got the game today and have only spent 30 minutes actually playing it and 4 or so hours setting the thing up and trying to get on a server. I then got a gun (finally) and broke my legs within about 5 mins. haha

SmashT 10907 Posted September 16, 2012 Where are the servers you are connecting to? I always found Australian servers took ages, especially when they were full or had not been restarted in a while however US servers are usually much quicker, probably because the hive is also located there. CNasty 19 Posted September 16, 2012 ooh, you're right! and to unlock bonus content, go to Cherno and ask if there are any friendlies. They will give you a 3" by .50 Cal. gift pack!
jetao2008@hotmail.com 175 Posted September 16, 2012 Seems related to the servers. I used to play on a server that loaded the game instantly, and now it takes at least a minute on a new server that i'm playing.
CNasty 19 Posted September 16, 2012 On topic, check the servers with 1) LOW ping (like under 100, preferably 50), 2) more players means more server effort and usually longer load times, 3) I make sure the server is up to date. If they are lagging on one of the patches, then it's probably not being maintained, and so who knows what is going on behind the scenes there. 4) be patient. Some days I get in after 30 seconds, and other days I have to alt+f4 out of a locked up loading screen a few times and try again, and magically I'm in. Ipurgepeople 106 Posted September 16, 2012 Don't alt-f4 out of loading screens though without opening another game window and loggin in first, or you'll get spawned on the coast.
boneboys 7988 Posted September 16, 2012 Topics Merged.Do not start a new Thread when there is already one with the same subject on the same page.Whats more you should be asking in the support/TroubleShooting Forum,,,ffs.OK, Your internet connection speed is important if you use a telephone with a V90 modem, don't bother. The Server spec's are also very important (hence the min requirment Server Rule).Make sure you have chosen a Server that has a low ping, the lowest possible.Make sure you have chosen a Server that is running the same game version as yourself.Make sure you have chosen a Server that is running the same beta version as yourself. These 3 basics might not seem important but believe me they are.Joining a low ping, low populated server will get you in-game a lot quicker, also BE will validate sooner.(I sometimes join a low pop server just to get BE validated/updated).I am using the latest beta on a server that runs the same. The server has good spec's and is located about 300 miles away.I have a good internet conection. It takes about 15 seconds to join when there are few players, also if you know at which time the server has a programmed restart, join shortly afterwards, it seems to help. All this depends very much on how loaded the Hive DB is at the time of connecting.Check your ping:http://www.pingtest.net/You can change server location with this test.Might help, might not... Michaelvoodoo25 3120 Posted September 16, 2012 (edited) I found if i played on low ping, low pop, and anything other than Utes the waiting is down to 5 mins. If I try Utes then all times are out of the window big time.I join a regular server, and depending on the time of day and pop it can change all the time.and that's with 100mb net (Virgin)Edit: cheers Boneboys good test. JarethJams 87 Posted September 16, 2012 It's funny cuz I load into Takistan Life 70 slot servers Instantly. Go to a dayz 30 slot server and basically I can wash my ass and cook dinner before it loads.
