nudedude 4 Posted September 13, 2012 Hey, so in the latest patch Rocket decided to remove the little box up in the right counter that showed your bloodvalue, humanity, murders and so on.I know that he did this to get more immersion in to the game but i really miss the Murder count. It's fine that the rest of the info (like blood level) is gone but now it's really hard to know how many you've killed in your current life. Can we please get the Bandits killed / Murder count back? :)
chris p. bacon 182 Posted September 13, 2012 If you want to keep track of how many people you've killed, write it down yourself.
nudedude 4 Posted September 13, 2012 Ye, ofc i could, but it would be alot easier if that was left in the game...
chris p. bacon 182 Posted September 13, 2012 You can also use the kill counter to verify your kills. It's unfair and doesn't belong in this game.
MitchRan91 25 Posted September 13, 2012 Its an Option..Press esc, Games settings, the its like Hud or whatever, change it from Default, to debug.. and your screen is back...Was mentioned in the patch notes

DemonGroover 8836 Posted September 13, 2012 Debug monitors arent generally in games - hence it was removed. I am sure that in the future there will be stats you can call up so you can gloat about all your murders.Maybe you can tatoo a teardrop below your eye for every murder, or slice a line across your arm with a knife if you are really missing the count.
Inception. 9443 Posted September 13, 2012 It is re-toggle-ableEsc > game options > DayZ UI > debug..
Bludy 324 Posted September 13, 2012 ooh i'm so sorry for you! you really kill so much to loose the count of your victims?

Faceman Peck 93 Posted September 13, 2012 also, turning the debug monitor on and leaving it there has messed with my playability. I turn it on when I believe to have killed someone and I want to know if they are dead, then I turn it off again.
discombobulated 27 Posted September 13, 2012 (edited) Actually I would prefer to have the blood level count back in, seeing as now I can't tell if a zombie is going to knock me out or not if they get too close (It's Sods Law, as soon as my blood drops one less than 9000 I get Joe Calzaghe'd to the face and end up dying from it).I didn't realise it could be turned back on, and I don't necessarily want the whole debug monitor, maybe just some noticeable difference in the blood HUD, so I can plan to lose the zombies without them getting too close.I know it get's steadily Redder the more blood you lose, but that doesn't help when there is no noticeable difference between the HUD at 9100, and 8900. Faceman Peck 93 Posted September 13, 2012 but there is no real playable difference between blood levels at 9100 and 8900 either
discombobulated 27 Posted September 13, 2012 but there is no real playable difference between blood levels at 9100 and 8900 eitherExcept the fact that a Zombie is almost bound to knock you out when they hit you. This is the point I was getting at, if you missed that, then I really don't know what else to say. I play solo a lot, so getting KO'd by a Zed can actually be fatal, seeing as is takes a couple of minutes to get back up and get the Zeds off you, that's providing you don't get KO'd as soon as you regain conciousness anyway. Sutinen 635 Posted September 13, 2012 (edited) I'm not sure if I have murdered 3 or 2 people, because one guy combat logged me. I don't think it was a kill though, because I saw his body there and then after a few seconds I didn't. Possibly just in knocked out state and used Alt+F4 to close the game. Not sure though.Except the fact that a Zombie is almost bound to knock you out when they hit you. One was when a zombie just randomly knocked me out and left me there (Gladly I wasn't bleeding, because I already was low on blood.)Then the other time, I got shot by an AKM from the guy right before I shot him dead and it broke my legs. Had to get some morphine while zombies were beating me. So I don't think the blood meter is that important. Edited September 13, 2012 by Sutinen
Bludy 324 Posted September 13, 2012 zombies are not a big menace, just if you are in bad shape before aggroing a lot and letting them get close to you. the worst thing of being below 8000 is the one-shot kill from every sniper rifle and lee enfield

So I don't think the blood meter is that important.Ok, I don't see your point in posting that, I never said I hadn't survived those types of situations, I just said that I find it irritating when the first hit after you drop below 9K is the one that knocks you out, so I wouldn't mind knowing when that threshold is. zombies are not a big menace, just if you are in bad shape before aggroing a lot and letting them get close to you. the worst thing of being below 8000 is the one-shot kill from every sniper rifle and lee enfieldAgain, I am well aware that Zombies are not much of a threat, I know how to handle myself. That doesn't mean that shit doesn't happen. You could be the biggest badass on DayZ, but it doesn't make you immune. All it takes is a lucky (or glitchy) hit from a Zed and you're down. It is stupid to have a threshold for something, if you're not able to work out where it actually is.
Marshun 0 Posted November 25, 2012 A lot of unhelpful shit heads posting in this thread :/ if you're all just going to bitch about the realism bitch about a person having to stand still to switch weapons, zombies walking through walls/traps, morphine curing broken bones. The debug to me was really only helpful for the zombie kills, bandit kills and murders. Usually I'm in the top 10 on the server so I know my zombie kills. Lately though I've been picking off bandits in cherno and it's hard to tell at a distance if the person is a bandit or a survivor when I've killed them. Also I'm not going to write down every kill I get in a video game. That's taking it to another level of sad. A survivor in a game who's trying to keep track would. That (to me) is the debug monitor. Keeping count.Anyway, the option to turn the debug back on in game options is blacked out. Suggestions?

Rastamaus 323 Posted November 25, 2012 why care how many you've killed? this game is not a kill contestthe only stat that matters is how long you manage to survive
rossums 2190 Posted November 25, 2012 If it kept a tally of your kills it would just encourage players to kill for the score rather than for the actual gameplay.Bad idea. You should want to survive and kill for the good of your character in the game, not for some numbers on a scoreboard that players will just use to try and show off their e-peen. jdz (DayZ) 238 Posted November 25, 2012 I like stroking my e-peen with my kill count, though :(
Castle (DayZ) 23 Posted November 25, 2012 (edited) I want to be able to see the humanity meter again. I have to know why my hardly ever murders got me bandit status while my 20+ murders in multiple lives friend doesn't even have a heartbeat.
