dappadan95 332 Posted September 9, 2012 Just a suggestion, why dont they add bottles of water? Im sure its better than drinking cans of pop which are not exactly the most healthy option to choose. I mean if you were in a survival situation you would not fill up on coke and pepsi you would take water it gives way more hydration than fizzy drinks! Yes you can get canteens but still...........What do you think?

The_Weapon1 33 Posted September 9, 2012 (edited) Wrong thread, and why would you want a bottled water when there are canteens which can be refilled? Edited September 9, 2012 by The_Weapon1

Ajvkorn 72 Posted September 9, 2012 I am pretty sure he is saying to replace soda with water bottles. Therefor, you would get rid of the water bottle just like soda. Soda is unhealthy, at least how much we drink it in the game. Just a curious question is all..Why did they go with soda over water bottles?

Just like the different cans of food, it's nice not only having 1 thing to eat and drink. ;)
Brandnew11980 26 Posted September 9, 2012 I wouldn't say replace the sodas with bottled water but I won't be carrying cans of coke or pepsi during a zedapocolypse. What if you have to run? Every can you have in your pack could be a fizz grenade waiting to go off. Not to mention probably flat by the time you get to drink it. In any case, more options are always welcomed by me,weapons, ammo, food, or drinks... Adding more options can only improve the game.
oalar 1 Posted September 9, 2012 I think they will add more type of drinks in standalone. Its just alpha and they need to focus more on important stuff. Later on they can add stuff like this

They should have stocked up on bottled water, and thrown away all their tasty canned beverages... just so the survivors that came next wouldn't get a sugar rush and bad teeth.Derp. You are going to derp somebody when you are the idiot? You realize a super market is going to have the same amount of water bottles as a soda right? Water is necessity for a living person. You could not live off of soda, but if you want to try, please go for it. If you don't worry about your health in a zombie apocalypse, you won't survive. Even such a small thing as soda, it is still something to worry about. Hygiene doesn't make people happy, it prevents sickness, diseases, and infections. I am not saying this to make a big deal, but any smart person would choose water over soda as a primary drink. There are where I live. And basically every building has a functioning water faucet. You realize eventually the water is going to get shut off or get polluted right? So not only would the ponds possibly be contaminated, but the faucets too. And the faucets after awhile won't work.

ActionManZlt 160 Posted September 10, 2012 (edited) You would drink every damn cola you could get your hands on. It's still calories.This. You would prefer water for hydration, yes... but soft drinks have a ridiculous amount of quick energy in them, which would make them very handy when food is scarce -- just like how chocolate is used in survival situations due to high sugar and fat content and long shelf life. Ajvkorn 72 Posted September 10, 2012 This. You would prefer water for hydration, yes... but soft drinks have a ridiculous amount of quick energy in them, which would make them very handy when food is scarce -- just like how chocolate is used in survival situations due to high sugar and fat content and long shelf life.Deal with the caffeine withdraw when you run out. It may be a good source of energy, but once it's gone, what do you think will happen? I think everybody can agree that your primary drink would be water and when you need energy or have low blood sugar, you would drink a soda.
Ajvkorn 72 Posted September 10, 2012 Huh, and here all this time I thought soda had water in it.Now I know! And knowing is half the battle.Obviously it has water in it, but not enough to sustain your body. If you want to think that, drink only soda for a week and tell me how you feel. Inception. 9443 Posted September 10, 2012 I agree.Anyone that prefers drinking soda [ESPECIALLY COKE] over water is obviously uneducated in that aspect [providing they actually want to live longer].
Banicks 55 Posted September 10, 2012 Why not have bottles of coke, pepsi, where's pepsi max? Or cans of Monster, V, Red Bull, so on and so forth. This is more of a suggestion that should go in the suggestion thread. I believe that when stand alone occurs that branded drink will be removed unless they wan't to sponsor themselves in game. More drinks may be incorporate as well, at this point in time though. It makes zero difference, a drink is a drink, providing it fills your thirst, pretend it is whatever you want.

I think everybody can agree that your primary drink would be water and when you need energy or have low blood sugar, you would drink a soda. That's exactly what I said - water is good for hydration but soft-drink would be highly valued for energy -- and as the person I quoted said, calories are calories.Obviously in-game this isn't true though, as soft-drinks hydrate just as well as water and don't provide any calories.Caffeine withdrawal? It's not heroin! Caffeine withdrawal causes slight headaches and irritability -- both of which you're already going to have in zombieland ;D Plus you've got to drink a damn lot of coke/pepsi to develop a caffeine dependence in the first place...I'd be much more worried about "wood withdrawal" when all the canned goods run out and all the game has been hunted. Thankfully Chernarus' forests and stores are ever abundant. Edited September 10, 2012 by ActionMan
