Supremacy (DayZ)

Unfair Global Ban?

Recommended Posts

Well today i got on and well that message popped up saying global ban. I have never hacked before, so i don't see how this has happened. The only way possible i think caused this was someone might have got my key somehow and hacked on it. I'm not sure if i am post to post this here but i am really furious about this.

The only way for someone to get your key is if you TRIED to download a hack, which turned out to be a little piece of program that changed your CD key into a banned one. Enjoy, byebye.

BattlEye are the folks you need to email, not post here. We all believe if you got banned you hacked, tried to hacked, or are some sort of evil doer and deserved it anyway.

You can't blame him for being sarcastic, there are many hackers claiming not to be. You sir would be one of the first to actually be banned for not hacking EVER.

This might sound strange, but I don't think Battleye just randomly picks cd keys and bans them, so either you gave away something or had something taken from your Arma II info that you shouldn't have and then the person who was validated using your key started doing insane shit. Either way all I can say is have fun ! :)

Battleeye has dished out bans to many innocent, and they dont care about repairing the damage. They are a incredinly rude company who never answers to emails and can't fight hackers for their lives. It's an ooze of amateurishness over the whole company.

You don't know that they are innocent... You are literally going on 3rd or 4th hand information. 99% of the people banned are scripting idiots who deserve it.

Until DayZ came along, complaints about global bans were rare.....very very rare and when checked it was always a clear cut case of hacking.

Never once in the 3 years Arma 2 has been out do I remember Battleye handing out mistaken bans until that brief recent problem that was fixed within 24 hours.

WARNING: Massive cd-key theft going on [ 29.08.2012 • 17:00 ] line.gifAs already mentioned in the previous news post, there is currently a massive ongoing effort by certain entities to steal people's cd-keys to then sell them for a profit. Private hack forums are full of posts of these fraudsters trying to sell heaps of cd-keys for a cheap price. We are talking about hundreds of cd-keys here, so this is not a small issue at all. The game developers confirmed that this is a huge problem right now.

Their process of stealing cd-keys is quite simple: They advertise a supposedly undetected hack on sites like YouTube and the moment you download and run it (it will probably report that the hack failed to load) your cd-key is already stolen. In many cases your actual cd-key in registry is overwritten with a banned one, so you will automatically receive a global ban message on join (see below). This is done to prevent you from using your cd-key again, so the fraudsters can sell them claiming that they are valid and not in use. Note that this can be fixed (temporarily) by deleting the cd-key from the registry and reinstalling your game. While your original cd-key is not banned due to this, it might very well end up being soon when your cd-key is being used by a cheater that purchased it. This causes many players to think they were innocently banned when in fact their cd-key was stolen and used for cheating. At the very least you will often receive a "CD key in use" message when trying to connect to servers.

If you think this is false propaganda to cover up supposed false global bans I advise you to do some research on this yourself. You can easily verify this by searching for "free ***" on YouTube. You will see lots of results and almost all of them are scams. Most of them are actually quite popular and have thousands of views. When downloading them and opening the .exe file in e.g. Notepad (warning: do not actually run the .exe!), you can find cd-key related strings such as "SOFTWARE\Bohemia Interactive Studio\ArmA 2 OA" (the registry location of the cd-key) inside.

In short, heed the following: DO NOT EVER RUN ANY HACKS OR OTHER SUSPICIOUS SOFTWARE! If you end up being banned due to your cd-key being stolen there is nothing we can do for you.

Oh yeah its SO easy for you to sit there and say everyone who got a global ban is a hacker. I was JUST like you until a global ban out of nowhere happened to me. I sincerely hope you will have the same experience so that you will grow a more humble attitude and get off your high horse. I never hacked. The end.

Anyone that would name themselves "Supremacy" is probably a fucking pile of shit hacker who can't stand to lose and doesn't mind literally fucking up other people's day on a whim. Seriously, what motivated you to give your self that name? Not a huge fan of your fellow humans and want to dominate over them despite the fact we all do the best we can or what? HUH? WHAT IS IT, WHATS THE REASON FOR IT?

Funny how it's never been a problem until DayZ came along which IS a hacker fest.

Operation flashpoint, Arma, Arma 2.... no such issues.

The only issues you read in the Bohemia forum were the occasional complaints about Battleye kicks because it failed to update or load properly

and those were usually a problem with the players connection of firewall blocking it.

You hacked, got caught.

Suck it up cupcake.

And a word of warning.... Honey pots have been set up with detected hacks just waiting for you to download them if you start thinking about doing it again.
