No more Gamma!!

Recommended Posts

I think the removal of the gamma adjustment setting is very much required, or at least making it not make quite such a huge difference, even on the darkest nights, as long as you have your gamma and brightness up you can see perfectly. It takes away from the immersion, or at least it does for me anyway. I kinda miss those nights where you couldn't see 5 feet in front of you.

Yeah, and then add tags to the equation and you've got x-ray vision!

It would be cool to see some cap on gamma/brightness.

The only real reason to have NVG's right now, is so you don't have to adjust gamma between day and night....

You do realise that some screens may have different settings and require more gamma to get the same view you have right?

My last screen (an LG CRT 18") had horrible settings and the default gamma/brightness setting was so dark you could barely see ingame menus of anything. (and it was already maxed out on the screen menu)

Having a limit on video graphics settings would be a bad idea. Having a limit on how many times a day you can change those two however, might not be.

limiting the gamma to a more realistic range would be good. I refuse to believe full gamma could be used for daytime play on any monitor, no matter how old

I think Rocket should shy away from his idea that annoying players benefits Dayz. What I mean is that if you remove NVG from the game then you open up the possibility for so many players to play on night servers as everyone is now on even ground.Yes having players have HUGE FREAKING BONUSES is annoying but is that really what this game is pushing? You know whats annoying???Playing on a freaking night server even if everyone plays on same level.Heck, not one FPS game annoys players by forcing them to play in dark....let Dayz be the first. ;)
