It all depends on the situation. Such as location, the gear I have, the gear they have, am I alone, are they alone, have they seen me.

And if they haven't seen me, I'll keep my eye on them until they leave.

You can't relate CoD and BF to DayZ. They are not even remotely similar. In CoD and BF the objective of the game is to kill other players. It is a necessity to win. In DayZ the overlying goal is to survive. And a lot of people find it necessary to take out anyone that could possibly be a threat. Hence the bandit way of life.

P.S. If nobody played bandit style how fun would DayZ really be? Weather you're going to admit it or not, bandits add a whole new dimension to the game and DayZ would not be the same without them.

What he said was more directed to the fact that he's here playing a zombie survival game and chooses to just kill everyone else he sees. As that is not the point of the game at all, even to the slightest. COD and BF are made for killing others without a care in the world, DayZ isn't. Don't even dare call his comment retarded, it makes perfect sense. The only reason you show up and verbally assault it is because he's going against someone that probably plays a very similar way to you.

In all honesty, I fully agree with him. If you're just here to kill people, go to a game that's made for that. This is DayZ, a zombie survival MMORPG. Not COD.

How the hell is it more likely to get you killed? First off all hiding bodies is in no way shape or form a dick move. Its a strategic move. If you leave the body there because it's a "dick move" you are more likely to get killed because nothing more draws attention in DayZ like a dead player.

Zombie survival my ass. The only impact the zombies have in this game are being a mild annoyance and showing where people are (see zombies farther that 200 meters? Someone's there. I treat zombies like angry wasps. No point shooting at them, just run a bit and they'll stop bothering you.

And survival? The only survival this game has is avoiding getting shot at. Yeah you need food and drink but you can find it everywhere. And once you have a knife, a hatchet, matches and a water bottle you can survive indefinetly. (provided scripters don't kill you)

The game fully supports PvP. PvE is non existent in this game.

Well first off, if you're a sniper, you've just made a loud as fuck noise and if you're going to move to the person you just killed and sit there not moving for a moment, I'd say that'd be more dangerous than moving away.

If you've killed him close range with a shotgun, maybe it wouldn't hurt, but you're more than likely to be in a city if you've done that with zombies and other players as such who would have heard you and quite frankly I'd rather gtfo out of there than staying back to hide a body just to be a dick.

The ONLY strategic reason for hiding a body is if you're camping an area and don't want people to know someone else has died there.

I've been at my character's own end game for a week now. So what do I do? I help others reach theirs. Not ruin their chances of ever getting there o_o I do not understand why someone would do something like that.
