Room for thought... a few ideas / suggestions

Recommended Posts

I know one of the "Major Upgrades" that is still up in the air is underground construction / bases set by rocket. Have you ever thought that maybe you should develop things like underground parking lots, utility basements, utility tunnels, sewers, storm systems, that have a set number of zombies that appear every 48 - 72 hours within a specified area that need to be cleared out, and once their dead their respawn timer begins ticking down from 48 - 72 hours.

This way they can develop a base within the underground bunker away from the spawning areas, but still need to defend it against both players and zombies on a timing basis, and doesn't interfere with the normal zombie population.

If you think about it, there is just as much cities above ground as there is under the ground of it. Its more believable using things like Utility Tunnels / Basements, Underground Parking Structures, and Stormdrains then making completely unique bases from scratch.

This would inturn give players more than just a surface base extraction route, if they are taking fire from bandits within a city, and also give more options to move into a city, but at the same time allow for a more dangerous route if it is plugged with zombies that hadn't been cleared out prior to exploration.

This one is probably gonna get me a lot of downward thumbs, but I believe vehicles need more parts... not a sense that we need a transmission, differentials, catalytic converters or alike, but a variety of engines that provide different kinds of performance, maybe better gripping tires, racing slicks, and off-road tires which allow vehicles to perform better in different kinds of scenarios. Lets face it no one likes driving in the middle of the night, while its raining with tires that already feel like racing slicks. Bullet-resistant glass, bullet-proof glass, and standard glass. Different kinds of scrap metal that add different layers of resistance from damage, or add speed to do weight. And I need to add this just to get some thumbs up. Give us Nitro! It can work on so many more levels then just vehicle performance.

and just for craps and giggles I'll give a basic idea of the parts.

High-Performance Engine Parts - Increases vehicles speed by 20% / Increases Fuel usage by 10%.

High-Efficiency Eco-Engine Parts - Reduces Fuel Usage by 20% / Reduces maximum speed by 10%.

Standard Engine Parts - No Benefits / No Problems

Old Engine Parts - Increases Fuel Usage by 10% / Reduces Maximum Speed by 10% / Additional HP 100 (Old Iron Block)

Low Capacity Fuel Tank Parts - Increases vehicle speed by 5% / Reduces Maximum Fuel Capacity by 50%

Standard Fuel Tank Parts - No Benefits / No Problems

High Capacity Fuel Tank Parts - Increases Maximum Fuel Capacity by 25% / Reduces maximum speed by 5%.

Standard Windscreen Glass - Resists upto 5 bullets below a 5.56 / Upto 2 bullets from a 7.62 / No .50 Resistance.

Bullet-Resistant Glass - Resists upto 12 bullets @or-below a 5.56 / Upto 5 bullets from a 7.62 / 1 .50 Cal

Bullet-Proof Glass - Resists upto 50 bullets @or below a 5.56 / Upto 20 from a 7.62 / 5 .50 Cal / Must be replaced, as it gets damaged beyond it threshold, the glass becomes more and more unviewable.

All-Terrain Tires - Speed Reduction on Roads Reduced 25% (Per Tire) on roads., Reduces Rain effects by 25% (Per Tire), Good for upto 1,000 Kilometers.

Off-Road Tires - Speed Reduction reduced 25% (Per Tire) off-road, Reduces Rain effects by 25% (Per Tire), Elevation Speed Reduction reduced by 7.75% (Per Tire). Good for upto 1,000 Kilometers.

Racing Slicks - Increases Road / Highway speed by 2.50% per tire, Increases Rain effects by 12.5% (per Tire), Elevation Speed Reduction Increased 12.5% (Per Tire). Good for upto 500 Kilometers.

Standard Tires - No Effects

Muffler - Reduces Noise levels by 25%.

Glass-Pack Muffler - Reduces Noise Levels by 50%

NitroPack - Increases maximum speed by 25% / Increases Fuel Consumption Rate by 15% / Damages Engine by 5% per use.

Aluminum Scrap Metal - Increases Vehicle Maximum Speed by 5% / Reduces Maximum HP by 25% / Reduces Parts Damage Reduction by 5%.

Steel Scrap Metal - Increases Vehicle HP by 10% / No Effects on Speed / Reduces Parts Damage Reduction by 10%.

Iron Scrap Metal - Increases Vehicle HP by 5% / Reduces Max Speed by 5% / Reduces Parts Damage Reduction by 5%.

Fiberglass Scraps - Increases Vehicle Max Speed by 10% / Reduces Vehicle HP by 10% / No Damage Reduction to parts.

Plastic Scraps - Increases Vehicle Max Speed by 7.5% / Reduces Vehicle HP by 20% / No Damage Reduction to parts.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Will Add More later if sufficiency is good.

some good thoughts!

but you no that:

Speed Reduction reduced 25% (Per Tire)

will be 4 x 25% = 100% so your speed will be 0 mph :D

Bases that are bigger than for 10 PPL should atrackt Zed's, so they have to kill and hide the Zed's that noone will find theyr base.

Would be a nice featur.

Did you mean, "food for thought"?

I think in 20yrs, no one will remember the proper versions for common expressions anymore, and will just make them up, moment by moment.

No I meant Room for Thought, because I was talking about Buildings and Vehicles, which are technically a room, if I wanted to say Food For Thought I would probably post about new kinds of food, eating wild foods and berries, and talking about dealing with spoiled and bad food as well. Which would envevotably lead to me talking about getting sick, gagging noises, and bad gas as a result of eating improperly. But I'll leave that well enough alone.

Im just a pun master.

Thats meant to be Speed Reduction Reducer, means that inhibitations caused by the environment are reduced, not the speed of the vehicle. For example your in a GAZ going 100 mph on the road, and 25 mph on the Prairie, you use Off-Road Tires, your speed is increased 100% as a result of driving on Off-Road Terrain, so you now travel a maximum of 50mph on the Prarie, but still retain a 100 mph on the Road. Environmental Reducers, not Vehicle Reducers there bud. Read more closely.

I think the wandering zombies would actually be better for underground passages during the wait time between Underground Respawns.

The concept that if you walk into a town and spawn 100+ Zeds, that only 10 - 15% of them do not despawn with the rest (Obviously with a Maximum Spawn Per Town / City that is addressed by the server, or a maximum wandering zombie count). These zombies wander the entire field of play, and can walk all the way into areas that would normally be zombie free.

As wandering zombies would play a more, surprise feature as well as be a great way of keeping people on their toes, especially in underground bases and structures as they wander in to look for players.

Though I think if Wandering Zombies are implaced, they need to have a smell function, if your injured, your blood is beyond a certain point, or you've been eating beans again, a zombie sort of gains a "I can smell you," function like a dog tracking a target and will begin to hunt for players it can smell.

Though I think we need 4 new zombies in addition to wandering zombies:

Looming Zombies - Zombies that appear as dead bodies on the ground, but when you get within a proximity of them, they get up and begin to act as a normal zombie.

Interlopers - Zombies that appear very much like a normal player at first, but quickly change when you realize he just bit you instead of said friendly.

Stalkers - Zombies with no lyrics, they are quiet and the only thing you hear is the thud of their feet.

Floaters - Nothing spells and smells like a zombie infestation then having to deal with the idea of drinking from a water source that is laden in dead bodies... especially if some of them begin to float... and reach for you.

The base idea is a great one, could just see our group all trying to protect our underground Carpark Supplies/Ammo etc night after night whilst going out on Raids
