Lingor Island, Hacked weapons already

So i downloaded Lingor island via Dayz commander yesterday, Hopped on for my first run around. after about 10 mins of blindly running and takeing in this amazing map i stuble across a car. Yayyyy

Looking in tha back of the car and its stocked with gear. I panic and drive off, as i am looking for a place to hide the car and loot i see a medical box on the floor outside a hut. tHis was in a little place called Aguado. i open the box and oh my lorrrrrrd Hacker heaven, Everything you could possibly spawn in this game was in this medical crete.

spent about 10 mins looking through all the weapons,

Now here is where my dilema started. I had only been in the game literally 10 mins and had gone from 1 bandage, 1 painkiller and my fists to literally becomming the new Universal solider, What to do what to do, do i take the hacked weapons or leave and carry on my merry way..

The server was full, 40/50 people playing so i reasoned that i can not be the only person that has stumbled upon this crete. It took me another 15 mins to decide what guns to grab, fully kitted myself out and started on my merry way to Calamar. No more than 1 min down the road i see anther medical box sitting by the water, i decamp from car and run over. Poooof same gear as before.. I tried shooting the box, blowing it up with charges (but they wernt called satchel charges on this map) but the box would not disapear..

Fast forward 5 mins and i am running up a hill to over look Calamar, Manged to snipe 4 Bandits before i crawled over an invisible object broke all my bones, started to bleed, got knocked unconscious and bled to death.. Normally i would have been p155ed but as i was using so much hacked gear i was actually ok about it..

My gear set up from medical crete was,

AS50 TSW (with nato rounds)

G36C SD

pdw sd (uzi type thing,)

Gillie, and soilder clothing, (soilder clothing looks much better than a gillie, but with the terrain and grass in the new map the gillie make you proper invisible,)

nv, rf, i did also pick up this Laser target device but did not know whjat it was for and it took the spot of my NVs so put it back,

So what would you have done? taken the gear or moved on.

My rule is if i find hacked gear i will only use it on the server i find until i die, i will not try different servers with hacked gear

Lingor is a good map from what i have seen, i just hope what i found was a one off and i can load it up tonight and run about like a headless chicken and gear up the proper way

What I would have done is prob outfit myself with some cool shit.

What I believe I should have done is only take a makarov or something for defense (No real advantage here)

What I in theory should have done is walk away. NOT (Face it, even in real life situations people dont do this. Stop trying to be so proper on the internet when you know for a fact youre not in real life)

Lingor island is not-hive. It mine as well be its own mod. Rocket has zero control of it.

Also lingor hacks have been around since the map was first released to the public. Don't act so surprised.

tbh id rather be called a dick couple of hours than gear up normally only to be shot by someone using the same weapon. At least i was on a lvling playing field whilst i had this gear,. I also think the admin had bigger fish to fry, i came across a filed and it had every vechile in the game spawned, boats and shit in the middle of a field, half were blown up and the others badly damaged

Not like it matters now anyway, when i log in later it will be a fresh respawn, and we all know the most fun part of the game is the first 30 mins trying to find a weapon other than an axe :o)

Mate if you are on a private server your character doesn't move with you so your one tiny bit of morals there is flawed. You are still exploiting and using those items.

You will probably just find another hacked crate after you die and do the exact same thing.

Hackers target every server, private and public, so in all honesty why not just gear up 'the proper way' regardless of what you see?

^^ You do have a point, i just throught Lingor was a brand new map. only saw it pop up on Dayz commander yesterday. did not realise it had been out a while already

The feeling i got after finding the crate was the same as finding an old worn porno mag stashed in the woods as a child.

Not much fun when you have full gear and no need to explore new buildings or areas.. will most likely just grab a map next time, i hate not having a map...

Also, you can't use the "real life" situation comparison in this case. Because in real life there aren't hackers who magically crap out ammo crates, auto kill, use map hacks, teleport, and on and on. All of us have to take a chance every time we log on to a server, hoping that there aren't any hackers on. There was no hoping in OP's case. Him stumbling upon the crate proved that there was a hacker on.

If it were me, I would have left all that crap there and moved to another server. If people want their gear just handed to them, let them go play CoD or BF.

I know I always appreciate reports of hackers so we can check them out. So far we've seen a lot less hackers on Lingor but it does happen every now and then. If I see hacked items on a player I usually just ban them outright though so you should be extremely cautious when finding crap like this.

Can you please point me to your server, so I know what to stay away from? I just dont like abusive admins who ban someone solely for having a weapon.

I would've picked a range finder, and left everything else. On Lingor i hardly have any weapon preferences - with the abundance of buildings snipers don't have as big of an advantage - but them bloody RF's are just nowhere to be found.

Absolutely not, I have never used an illegitimate weapon, nor do I have any. I'm openly admitting to following the DayZ rules as laid down by the mods creator. Since this is a private hive all I can do is stay away from the abusing :)

as people have pointed out, rocket has no control over Lingor servers. but besides that, I was playing on a hive server lastnight that was banning people for having hacked weapons. it's not a 'global ban' but they are banned from that server

Hopefully you will get banned from that server for using the scripted gun.

Many servers ive been to that is running Lingor, ban people (dumbasses) who picks up scripted weapons.

This way, the servers stays atleast free from people like you. "my dilema..." yeah right. If you would have gotten your hands on a script, then you would have used it. This is what its saying to me.

I founda medical box last night, in middle of nowhere. Took 1 satchel charge and blew it up. Went on running. End of story, its not harder then that.
