Cool.

Still get stuck on character loading/loading screens 80% of the time.

Nice to see you added some more stuff to the cluster fuck of code you already have tho. n1n1.

Update your friggin' version of Arma II.

im talking about torrent itself. its been around a looong time and its a well known carrier...

seems like a lot of you are new at this computer internet shit. doesnt matter what you say, i just dont trust it, and dont have to.

The irony is that you're the one that's either new or stupid if you think p2p is inherently virus ridden. Back to kazaa with you.

I do have a question, may be coincidence, but I saw a BUNCH of tents last night while playing; at one point 2 in one grocery store, and another in a house around the corner. Could they be there to encourage testing of tents, or was this just random chance? Unfortunately I was killed before I was able to test them. Haven't had a chance to test any new features/fixes yet since graphical glitches were extremely limited for me anyway (and it took a couple weeks before I saw one at all on *.5).

I'm sure there's some kind of link betweeen those two statement but I just can't put my finger on it...?

I suggest to use the "DayZ Commander", works pretty good!

Can't quote enough. Why is DayZ Commander not common knowledge amongst DayZ players? There are loads of people complaining that it's too hard to update the game manually! I know it's a sticky in one of the sub-forums but can we request something about DayZ commander get added to the dayzmod.com download page? It has much more functionality than SixLauncher (and seems to update better)!

Edit: Derp, just seen it's actually been added to dayzmod.com. I'll go wipe the egg off my face, thanks guys :D

I'm pretty happy about the graphic artifacts being fixed (or at least the worst ones) but it seems that my ten didn't save. I placed a tent last night on an updated server an checked it this morning after the server restart and......nothing the tent was empty. I'm going to wait until the server restarts again to see if it all comes back but so far it seems tents aren't saving on a consistent basis

... Someone's had a bad experience torrenting porn, huh?

P2P hosting is fine as long as you use it sensibly. It seems that you, sir, are new to this 'computer internet shit'.

I can confirm that a Saved tent, After a restart is still Duping. We packed a tent. Saved it! Restarted the server and removed all items. Waited 30 min. Then restarted the server again. Wolaaaa! Stuff is all back in the tent again. So much for items becoming rare again this hotfix. At least more of my clan can play now Graphics are fixed!

I think the food and drink should be relatively straight forward to keep ontop of. Just eat and drink at regular intervals. Do we all eat and drink when we are dying of thirst or starving? Perhaps after performing a marathon running session you might want to have a little drink?

As for bleeding, i agree it is a little hard to see sometimes. Perhaps an audio mechanic could be added - maybe your character says "I'm fucking bleeding here!!"

And please DrWho1968, dont go all "First Person Hero" on me?

Of course we don't wait for starvation and dehydration in real life to go eat or drink. But we do it when we feel "hunger" or "thirst". Which isn't the case in the game then.

You said that we will get visual and audio clues when we are in desperate need on food and water. Where did you hear this in first place? I didn't found any info on that. But, by that time already, if you don't consume food/water immediately you will start loosing blood after a few seconds. So what we really need is a system that will let us know when we are HUNGRY/THIRSTY rather then near starvation or dehydration. Looking at the hunger/thirst bar that we have now, helped us to plan in advance. To get a feeling on how much time we have left till we need consume food. The new system then should have a warning/hint that tells us we are hungry/thirsty and then we know we like have not much time till those values drop deadly low.

As for the blood. 9 out of 10 bleeding's you won't realize in 1st person. And DrWho got a point, because he might be playing only on hardcore servers with 3rd person disabled. Like me sometimes. I find it more realistic and people can't look behind walls and corners while leaned to a side and glitching with their head through the wall. That's ridiculous. I agree there on the "I'm fucking bleeding" hint LOL

Peace.

No, you're just being fussy and wasting your own time in the process.

It will LITERALLY take you two minutes to go and download Bittorrent. No hassle, no fuss, and you get everything you need.

They clearly made it a torrent to take stress off their servers. It takes a lot of time and effort to keep a download server running under such high demand, and all they ask as a trade-off is that you spend two minutes of your life to download a some torrent software for legitimate purposes.

Man up and go get that goddamn patch already.

With the said HUD/Monitor bug/issue. I´m actually thinking that this is not a bug, as the Non-debug Monitor HUD is working.

Maybe Rocket wants us to come along without that info, we actually have, for example the blood level.

Is it really important to know/read how many zombies are alive, how bad or good i am? I think he will delete this info in near future, because it makes us a bit more careless than without this information.

We have to get a kind of feeling of what we are and where we are and what we need, there is no need to read it in the debug monitor, and thats why i think he did it on purpose.

If he did because of this, than "Rocket" is a bit like Dr. Freud, he plays with our fears and thats what this game makes it stronger and stronger.

What do you think?

Maybe he is lieing in his updated 1. post now ;) Maybe, as he said, we must deal with it for longer, forever?!

Your argument would be valid if it wasn't for the other 1 million bugs and glitches that have to be fixed. The debug monitor came in handy to see if you got a kill or not. You had to use it because players tend to freeze in a standing position even if dead. You didn't see Player killed messages sometimes even if you shot the guy 5 times in the head. etc. etc.

Why would it be so bad to see how much zombies you have killed and how much headshots you made in your life? I don't see how this is making the game easier or directly influencing the gameplay. It's just stats that are fun and good to have.

As for the zombie count, alright I agree take it out together with bandit kills and murders and just add "Kills". Since we got different skins now we obviously can see if we shot a bandit or survivor or here. Unless you fix player glitching at death, the kill count on players should stay.

And I think if we are to remove the debug monitor then the GUI we have left should be changed. Making it go through 3 stages rather then slowly fading into red since its hard to tell when it is actually pure red and starts flashing. I'd make it like changing colors from/to green/yellow/orange/red rather then fading into red. Orange could be marked as REALLY HUNGRY/THIRSTY and red would be starvation.

But those are just my suggestions. Other then that, as I said. Until the player glitches and other bugs are fixed, the debug monitor just helps us out to even our chances against the glitches.

My mistake, I wasn't clear. I meant tents as "loot." Packed up, spawned at what seemed to be a higher rate than normal. Again this may have just been coincidence, as I don't even know if it's possible to globally increase the rate of a certain item like on demand. I'm sorry I confused you. And I was killed by zombies attracted by a firefight where I killed a player inside an apartment building in a different town, so no connection to the spawning tents.

Way to do away with the direct download, some of us don't like installing bloatware like six launcher OR torrent programs. >:(

By chance does anybody want to upload the files to mediafire or something?

My thoughts regarding tents:

The hotfix intended to fix tent/vehicle saving. The issue was that the tents wouldn't actually save anything or the inventorys would never reflect changes after a restart.

For example, if a player would ADD things to a tent and save it, the new items would dissappear after a restart.

What you're talking about is an issue with the game's design, not the mod's. This is not preventable (from what I know, please correct me if I'm totally wrong here).

Now that everything is working properly (at least how the game is designed) items are saved to the server's harddrive and they actually remain there even after restart. Now if you take everything out but do not save it, as far as the server knows, nothing has changed. The data on the harddrive is not overwritten unless a player manually saves it. Of course the items will reappear after restart.

A possible solution: handle tent inventories like how player inventories are handled. Save them periodically, maybe not every few minutes, but at least regularly so the server knows that items have been taken out and not saved. This is probably a fault with the game, and not the mod, like mentioned before.

Hope that helps.

Or save tent inventories as the server shuts down before a restart.

@Valkyrie

I talked about the debug monitor in general.

If you know your zombies kills and headshot, what would be your benefit of this? Yes you´re right, nothing ;) Is meant that the debug monitor is not necessary for this survival game, because it´s not important to know the stats, this is a personal argument/wish. Its much more important to deal with the situation in game and the stats wont help you.

As I said, no debug monitor will increase the immersion and I go further and say no HUD will be the best. I must say I´m a fan of metagaming and survival and DayZ is exactly that kind of "game" i ever wanted.

What about the blood? I like to know if I'm with 8k or 12k blood.

Got to options and switch from default to debug and you will have your blood count and kills. Then switch back to default so your health monitors will function. Real easy and not a big deal.

Great work Rocket!!!! Tents work :)
