Nasty Little Trend, Watch Your Back..

Recommended Posts

Just lately Ive been noticing a trend that i really don't like.

People running around with no weapon in their hands making out they are noobs then pulling it out the backpack as soon as your back is turned.

And my m8 wonders why i kill anyone on sight if they spot me...

And yes i know its part of the game etc but it doesn't mean i have to like it.

Hey mate, the KOS is a precaution sometimes, but not all of us are bad guys :-). I feel like...sometimes, people just wanna be a group. They wanna have someone watch their back, but they are too afraid. It's good to run and then directchat, I think...Or just run!

Helping unarmed people by saving them from a bandit that was firing on them also gets a bullet in your head, ive noticed..

If you really don't trust an unarmed person, tell them to stand still while you open their backpack and have a look.

Just because you're not a bad guy doesn't mean you're useful. In fact, sometimes it means you're a liability. Don't forget that, when dealing with others.

On an additional note, it seems a lot of people are learning the folly of pointing guns at other people for "good" reasons. If you keep doing it, someone is going to shoot you, and you'll have every last bit of it coming.

You can't fit a weapon into a coyote patrol pack.

Handgun is only 5 slots buddy. They could also just as easily have an ax equiped with their flashlight out, no need to fumble with backpack as the ax doesn't display.

In all honesty though, crying cause someone outwitted you is pretty lol.

Yes you can, just not a rifle or a shotgun.

Yep its a sad state.

Upon dying and respawning i hooked up with a fellow respawn who i found near a lighthouse. We decided to hit the Balota airfield. He couldnt enter because he was getting artifacts so i went in. I found an AKM and in the sheds down the back a hatchet.

Meeting up with my new "friend" i gave him the hatchet for protection until we found him a better weapon. As soon as i give it to him and say "Lets head to the medical tents" he starts hacking away at my back.

He gets in a cheap shot before i blow him away with my AKM. Tool!

The message is clear - if you have better gear than someone else, they ALWAYS want to peel it off your fly blown back.

Funny story.... about 3 weeks ago I remember coming across a newbie and helping him to a town (zeleno i think?) we went to the market and it had a rather large parking lot beside it anyway... well once inside for some reason I pulled EVERY zombie in the town to me. I was shooting using the MK48 mod I had just found at a heli site and had a Bizon SD with three mags in my backpack. I mowed down most of them infront of me but got hit and was bleeding out.

Suddenly I hear ptpptptpt of the bizon, I face palmed and thought for sure I was dead. But I turned around and he put the bizon back in my backpack, I smiled, for every time I had been shot in the back this made up for it a thousand time over, he said sorry he had to or we'd both be dead. I took the bizon out of my backpack and dropped it infront of him along with the mags and an extra pair of NVGs I had been saving for a friend. The market was full of loot and I left him to it as I logged off and went on with with my day, the thought of not being shot in the back flavoring my day.

So don't give up, there are still people out there with morals. Just like in real life, they are a lot more rare is all.

There is hope yet! Honestly I would do the same, If a player is good enough to help me out I wouldn't take advantage of that.

People love taking my extra weapon out of my backpack and trying to shoot me with it. Funny thing is that it takes them a 5 second animation to actually equip the weapon. Quite easy to execute them during it.

Just do what every other successful player has done, KOS everybody or just go stealthy. If you want to group i'd suggest these forums. Only had 1 or 2 betrayals here and there.

It's unfortunately an all too common trait among many players that play this game. I've been playing mostly solo recently and would love to bump into someone and actually help each other out. More often times than not though, people will just try to kill you

As sad as it is, I've had to make my first rule of DayZ "Trust nobody"

I'm not saying I'll shoot someone on-sight if I come across them, I've flanked a fair few players that I've spotted and circled around them or simply left alone, who won't have even known I was there. I just don't trust people enough to interact with them, especially not with the gear I currently have. On the other hand if someone spots me, then I'll proceed with extreme caution, tell them to keep a distance away to make entering your backpack impossible. If they get too close after I've said not to, then they die.

I'd definitely say either play solo, or find a player or even a group, of people that you trust.

Happy hunting.
