reddeer01 5 Posted September 2, 2012 So the hero skin was the reason I had those OH-SO-Awesome Fingerless gloves.Of course this only justifies me loosing it by killing that bandit and his friend. Any info accurate on how much you loose (or hopefully gain) for ridding the world of bandits?
avaint4 30 Posted September 2, 2012 (edited) Any other heros troll hostile non-hero, non-bandits with their high humanity? I do this all the time now that my humanity is approaching 50,000. If I see a player running around who isn't already a bandit and isn't a hero, I approach unarmed and instead of running away when they shoot I salute them in honor of their new practically permanent bandit tag. The more perma-bandits I can make the better for me, because then I can have fun shooting people without any consequences. jdz (DayZ) 238 Posted September 2, 2012 The whole humanity thing is fucked tbh. I play this game for the PVP and I've got 6 kills on this character but as soon as I log back in, I go back to 0 humanity.

Usually if your watch the debug monitor just as you enter the game world your actual humanity will flash for a brief moment before it is incorrectly shown as zero. If you like, we could arrange a meet-up where I'll let you lose all the humanity you could ever hope to lose. Edited September 2, 2012 by avaint4
TheDesigner 1197 Posted September 2, 2012 (edited) As one more note, the hero skin does carry a slight risk of being teleported to the coast with no items but your backpack, Prepare accordingly. Please don't post "facts" if they're not true. This is a bug that happens to everyone rarely, no matter what skin you have.HEROES DO RUN FASTER, this has been proven multiple times and I run way faster than some of the people I play with. Powell (DayZ) 734 Posted September 2, 2012 Stop bumping the thread man, else I'm gonna have to lock it. If people want to reply, they will. If not, let the thread die
{CQF} PFC Demyan 43 Posted September 2, 2012 Sorry Powell - I see new threads popping up asking questions that are answered in this thread, so it was my hope that keeping it up would help reduce thread clutter for ya'll

broguenz 333 Posted September 2, 2012 Just my own observations.Killed a bandit no difference in appearance or humanity on the debugFound a ghillie, put it on, took it off, became a default survivorShot a survivor that shot at me, became a banditPut on the ghillie, took off the ghillie, became a default survivorTried that again then ;logged back into server, had the hero skin backHumanity has been 0 since I first got the skin despite the bandit kills (and the 'murder' above) and any medical attention I've provided. {CQF} PFC Demyan 43 Posted September 2, 2012 It is a glitch to be fixed in the next Hotfix :) Hang in there!
sasrecon 133 Posted September 2, 2012 Shot a survivor that shot at me, became a bandit This annoys me too, I tried communicating with this guy when I was playing yesterday but no response except a shot every time I approached the door of the building I was in so I quickly looked through the window and popped a cap in the survivor's head - who was clearly only a survivor and not a bandit because of the +150h every 20m glitch o.oThe only way I could've avoided dying and not lose humanity would've been to log out...Oh the... (no pun intended)
canbeast 0 Posted September 2, 2012 I can confirm that there is no significant loss of humanity when shooting a hero. I've had to put down my friend(with a hero skin) a couple times and I only lost about 2000 humanity (according to the debug stats).
Fat-Marco 13 Posted September 3, 2012 Lol, im at negative seven hundred thousand humanity. How many blood bags is it going to take me to get from -700000 back to zero?
burritoman259 593 Posted September 3, 2012 well a blood bag restores about a 250 humanity so about 28000 blood bags... PS: if you want to know how i found out 250x28000 and presto 7000000, have fun MR. fat marco
Bludy 324 Posted September 3, 2012 so if i have a ghillie on i won't take the benefits of being a hero? (8000 humanity)
Faceman Peck 93 Posted September 3, 2012 The hero skin/humanity is still very buggy. I had 5 murders, I put on a ghillie suit and it reset my humanity to 0. Next time I die, I respawn and after shooting a few zombies I wind up with the hero skin. Faking a friendly player is always fun!brilliant! absolutely awesome
rekrul 91 Posted September 3, 2012 (edited) The bullet proof vest on the skin is functional, but only marginally so compared to Camo. It is entirely ineffective vs any round higher than 9mm in caliber, and the vest does NOT absorb all of the shot's damage. How certain are you of this? Everyone in the A2-engine has body armour as default but since the engine lacks any penetration value it's merely a damage-reducer. Now, they could've increased the value on the hero but I doubt it. Also note that due to the lack of penetration value, you can explode a tank with enough pistol ammo and patience. From the West soldier class:class HitHead {armor = 0.700000;material = -1;name = 'head_hit';passThrough = 1;};class HitBody {armor = 0.800000;material = -1;name = 'body';passThrough = 1;};class HitHands {armor = 0.500000;material = -1;name = 'hands';passThrough = 1;};class HitLegs {armor = 0.500000;material = -1;name = 'legs';passThrough = 1;};It might've been removed for the Dayz surviors (i.e. set to 0) but the A2 engine assumes everyone is wearing standard issue body armour.
