Hold Server Admin Accountable !!??

Before I begin I will give a little back story...

Yesterday, setting up a camp with a Clan member of mine we hear a car heading our way, we set up for an ambush which the car drives and parks right in the zone. We see 4 personnel get out of the car ans start transferring goods to 3 tents they have set up along with a Civ. UAZ. Now everyone of these people are geared to the teeth. Ghillie, M4CCO SD, 107, Range finder, NVG, GPS..so on and so on. The attack begins we kill 2 right off the bat with head shots, the driver of the car gets shot while in it. The other 2 are killed shortly after. Now Obviously we ran across these guys who is suspect for hacking, we gather the items load the trucks and move out. Later on that night (Night time)..we are moving to help another clan member out and out of no where the kill count on the server goes up like mad..5 kills here and there at a time..the person somehow finds me and my clan members and kills us with no sounds, no movement, no warning. Come to find out later that our camp was empty and the truck we hid was turned into a bus. Now having our own clan server we know the ends and outs of the Admin's powers and this is clearly an Admins doing. whether of not he seen what we had in our bags and thought we were hackers, or he was just wanting to clear everyone off his server, I'm not sure, But the Admins should be held to a higher standard. They should be at risk of getting the server shut off if they are going to allow or use the hacks we witnessed last night.

So you ran into a hacker, what exactly does that have to do with the server admin because I'm struggling to see the connection you made. I really don't think you actually do know what an admin is and isn't capable of doing if you think that was the work of an admin.

If the server is running 1.7.2.5 then your tents being empty and your truck being turned into a bus is just a bug from the recent patch. Nothing can be done about that, but you can start playing on 1.7.2.4 servers where vehicles and tents do save.

Well as an Admin you are capable of picking up and moving items, replacing items, porting folks to a closer location, tracking other players in game, seeing what items those players have..etc.etc.

Now running into the [TWP] Crew we killed and looted that has nothing to do with what happened later that evening. They may or may not have been hacking but they did have pretty much 5+

of every item. its the fact we had the camp established, we saved everything, the server reset and we came back to no bugs everything was in the spot it was left. It was later that evening. Anyway doesn't matter now, on the search for a respectable server...Happy hunting

Why does it have to be the admin?

You know all the cheater-scripts do exactly what you are describing here right? Any idiot could have done this to you if they want to use those scripts. It didn't mean it was the admin.

Admins can't do most of those things.

They can see what items you have when you join from the logs.

It's possible, they can look at the location data in the logs and using some basic maths and trial and error work out the corresponding coordinates in game, pretty unlikely they would bother however.

They can't teleport players.

They can't pick up and move items.

They can't replace items.

How do you run a server and still have absolutely no idea what you are talking about?

You sir are a COMPLETE and utter IDIOT to levels that can't even be measured by intelligent people. You have no idea what you are talking about. Admins have NONE of those powers AT ALL you JUST said that you guys have your own server and now you're saying you're on the lookout for a respectable server to play on. Why not go play on your own server. Oh wait because IT DOES NOT EXIST. You sir are talking through your hat. Fuck off and die so your hypocrisy and idiocy does not infect the gene pool.

You didn't run into an admin, you may have ran into a hacking admin...but clearly this is a hacking problem. Admins can't do either one of what you tell they did.

Admins have alot more powers then you guys are letting on. Sure they might have to break some of Rockets out of date rules, but in my experience its the difference between a server full of server nukers and a server with no hackers on them at all, except for the occasional one who gets server banned right away, had his logs sent to BI and watched as the server is reverted 15 minutes to revert and damage they caused.

If you have full control there have been many SERVER SIDED hack tools implemented where you can let in banned players in and execute scripts server-sided. Even as a managed server admin you can see the items of players, vehicle, crashed heli locations if you know what you're doing.

Nice try, There is no clan that owns 1145 you're thinking of another server, and there are no current bans in our ban log.

For the record,

I am a member of the Vault-Tec Citizens clan whose server is in question, if you can call it a clan. A more fitting description would be a dozen goof-balls who've played games together for years, many with a strange preoccupation with the Fallout franchise, beginning with the first release in 1997 (we're old).

In any case, DayZ is the game me and many of my friends have been waiting for-- vast, unforgiving, hyper-realistic, and gritty. Being a fan of Fallout, we're attracted to scrappy, bleak games where you've only got a few rounds for a rusted out revolver you're saving to murder the guy in a ski-mask you've been tracking for hours because you're pretty sure he's got a can of Chef Boyardee. Hell, I'd love to see this game get even more frustratingly realistic: misfires, poor quality ammo, limited matches, searching for batteries, etc.

Which, finally, brings me to my point, hacking ruins the precise game expereince that we like. We are gluttons for punishment and enjoy the flavorful immersion that only a game that really hates you can offer. Spawning stuff for yourself, although temping sometimes I'll admit, just takes the fun out of it. Our admin and I both agree on this point. So, boo on hacking and that's all I'll say.

Post like these make me lose a little more respect for the DayZ community everyday. I was lucky to arrive just before all of these know it all children arrived. It is depressing how self asorbed the player base has become.
