DayZ Dogs, My Opinion

I have seen a lot of topics about adding Dogs as companions in DayZ,

In my opinion its a bad idea and a wast of time, Its a diversion form other players and zombies

and we will need to feed him probably, Wast of food and it can easily blowup your cover In some places like cities and military bases.

And for the sad part, when you putt your hand on some nice gear and weapon that you wanted and you Kill/Survive with it for few days,

You get attached to your gear witch is a MISTAKE

So the last with that we need in DayZ is someone you care about, who can't respawn and start over again,

Getting shot by a bandit with an AS50 in front of your eyes, Its sad. (Still A Better Love Story Then Twilight)

And besides Dogs wont be very useful in the game, Its more for the feeling of having a teammate

and the realistic way with in it, So I'll like to know what do you think about this idea and about my opinion. :D

The way they work seems like it's going to be awesome. The forum will be flooded with tears over the lost companions but I think they will be worth it. I personally can't wait to find my 1st dog, I've already got his name picked out.

I'm only curious how they will work if you travel in vehicles.

Dogs would be a cool idea but as a findable thing, like mourning the dead body of his old owner (NPC dead body or a survivor) or just roaming the streets, could be fighting a zed, if you save you gain loyalty of him/her?

Also any news on the breeds? I would love a Jet Black German Sheppard like my Sam :D

Dogs don't make you live longer or avoid permadeath. They don't even let you kill enemies more easily. In short, they don't break anything, so what's the problem?

I sure like the idea with dogs. I rather play alone cause I'm somewhat a born leader and with many people with their own needs it's hard for me so a dog, yes it might work.

Now about some of you people bashing out at other people for speaking their mind, I just don't get it? The op wasn't in any way bashing at the game he asked a simple question so deal with it cause this is just imature!

Edit: looked at a few if my posts and It seems like I can sound rather frustrated too sometimes. Ok well I will need to change this as long as we understand our own mistakes, we can only get better ;)

Guys, you literally have NO IDEA AT ALL how dogs will function. Not even a little bit. Stop trying to start "bawww dogs will break the game" and "omfg i love dogs awesome" discussions when you have nothing to base them on besides the fact that rocket said "hey dudes, there's gonna be dogs."

Here's an idea, what if dogs are just forest animals like pigs and cows that you can gut for meat? That might be their sole function. You don't fucking know. So stop trying to discuss it until it actually comes out and we can get some REAL community feedback on their impact on the game.

I can agree that alot of people will get attached to their dog and moan when they lose it.

If I see a dog that blows someone's cover, I will shoot the dog and laugh knowing that the player probably cared more about the dog then about his gear.

Know how your adrenaline starts pumping when you see another player or you get shot at? How about that sick feeling in your gut when you just died? This game makes you FEEL. That is the goal of Rocket. Dogs are being introduced for this exact reason. So that you FEEL something about it. I just cant wait til PETA hears about it.. ;)
